I need data from s7 Edge but forgot pattern. Dont use this phone half year dont have google acc to .
As much as i know there isn't a way but you can do this install Custom Recovery TWRP with odin (google it how to) after that boot to custom recovery and backup everything except the os (photos,videos etc) then try to wipe data/format or install custom rom if anyone has a better option let me know

Does anyone know a way to use encrypted phone and use TWRP and flash custom roms with it?
The thing is that my company Exchange server needs the phone to be encrypted to be able to sync mails, contacts and calendar.
It seems TWRP can't flash custom roms while the phone is encrypted?
What I have done/tested this far:
1) Flash CM11S 44S with the fastboot images so the phone is completely stock.
2) After reboot I encrypted the phone
3) Reboot to fastboot and flash TWRP
4) reboot back to CM11S to see it still works
5) Reboot back to recovery and flash CM12 rom (with full wipe)
After I reboot I get to the screen asking my PIN code to decrypt the phone. After inserting the pin I get a screen which just states that the PIN was correct but my data is corrupted and I need to do a factory reset.
After factory reset, the same info comes up at the next boot.
IS there a way to make this work?
Different ROMs might use slightly different methods of encryption. So I guess you can't really make big ROM changes when encrypted. Cm11s to cm11 might work bit you are probably not too interested in that.
I started to use Nine app for mails and stuff. Nine keeps the east policies on app basis so I can continue to use my phone with cm and have work mails etc on the phone
I was using package disabler pro to disable some Samsung apps, like galaxy apps, billing etc. I have had the phone like this for months without problem. Today I re enabled galaxy apps and rebooted phone and now my phone is boot-looping, stuck on samsung logo. I re flashed the EXACT same rom that is on there via ODIN, (XSA g920i) and it STILL boot loops. Normally this fixes problems like this. The phone is stock, uprooted. Don't tell me I have to factory reset it all?
Will not even boot up in safe mode.
This can be moved to the Q and A section but I also didn't realise you can soft brick your phone without root.
I am definitely sure it was re enabling some apps in package disabler pro that did it. Is there some way to ABD console re enable all apps or undo whatever the program has done?
I'm willing to install twrp recovery on the phone so I can mount system and undo whatever the program has done. Does anyone know what to alter?

If I factory reset, will I be able to recover the files on there like pictures and images with a program?
Install custom recovery, then mount you sd partition in recovery and connect to pc then move all your pics etc to pc, then factory reset

Yea Im aware I would be able to do that but I want to be able to undo the programs influence so I can boot into my phone again.
So I take it I use the latest twrp and just flash via odin? I dont need to also flash a custom kernel?
Yeah just flash recovery with odin, you could probably try using the file manager in recovery to delete the galaxy apps apk, or fixing permissions may work, or possibly wipe cache and dalvik and may be able to boot, the custom recovery gives you a few options
I contacted the dev and he said there is a way to fix it via ABD. The stock s6 mm recovery has an ABD option, is this the same as a proper abd when the phone is booted up, or does it only allow you to push signed files and updates accross?
So does this mean it is possible to fix the issue without flashing custom recovery?
Is there another section this can be moved to? Im surpised there isnt more information for such a popular app with a common problem.
I just realised I have reactivation lock enabled. Does this mean I CANNOT flash custom recovery? If thats the case I dont even want to try.

Hi! By mistake I flashed TWRP 3.3.1 with Samsung encryption ON, so I got a bootloop. I managed to get the latest stock firmware and flash it without removing data, so it boots and I can see notifications from my apps. The problem is I can't unlock the phone now: I draw the pattern but the screen goes off and so on. I have a "screen lock loop".
Do you know if there is any way to solve this? What I want to do is removing Samsung encryption and flash TWRP to get root access. If I can do this without losing data would be great. If there is no option I suppose I can wipe data from stock recovery and start from the beginning (please let me know if I'm wrong).

I Recently got a Bootloop problem with my s10/SM-G973F.
And after trying every other way of solving this and not having USB- Debbuging activated or the OEM unlocked my last option is to save the Data.
And after figuring out i could save them with a TWRP recovery i always read that u need to have AVB disabled in order to flash a custom ROM , but beacause USB-deb. isn't active I see no way to flash TWRP without getting a vbmeta error or a even harder Brick.
Is there any other way to use TWRP, flash a new vbmeta.img/boot.img or save the Data

Ok then let me change the question: Is it possible to flash/install TWRO without USB-Debugging?
Flashing Recovery / OTA / ROM is done by means of Fastboot, what requires phone gets booted into it's bootloader - what typically is done via ADB.
If installing a custom Rom by ADB there will be no problems with AVB you mean?
the problem with flashing by ADB in my case is that the phone isn't unlocked and i can't go into developer options to do so

Can you boot into download mode? If so, you should be able to flash the stock firmware via Odin, just make sure you use the "Home CSC" file in the CSC slot in Odin when you flash the firmware nd not any other CSC, this should flash without wiping the user data that you are trying to save.
I already tried a firmware flash(first try newest one/2. & 3. try older ones). Result: still bootloop/ only getting to recovery mode.
What brought me up with the idea that my own data probably is corrupt.
Since i CAN go to recovery mode i thought i might just change this one to TWRP from where i could save my date (safe to SD) but because AVB and bootlocker are active/locked i wasn't able to install TWRP(didn't try because i heard of vbmeta errors) .
Is there another way i could install TWARP in my situation or save the data?
