[J7 2016] [J710-FN] Problems after flashing TWRP with Samsung encryption ON - Samsung Galaxy J7 Questions & Answers

Hi! By mistake I flashed TWRP 3.3.1 with Samsung encryption ON, so I got a bootloop. I managed to get the latest stock firmware and flash it without removing data, so it boots and I can see notifications from my apps. The problem is I can't unlock the phone now: I draw the pattern but the screen goes off and so on. I have a "screen lock loop".
Do you know if there is any way to solve this? What I want to do is removing Samsung encryption and flash TWRP to get root access. If I can do this without losing data would be great. If there is no option I suppose I can wipe data from stock recovery and start from the beginning (please let me know if I'm wrong).
Many thanks!
Kind regards.

Restoring Backup (Android P) with TWRP - possible solution found (updated)

Edit: Since I am the impatient guy of course I still meddled with the backup after posting this thread. By chance I found a solution that finally worked for me. Latest Oxygen Os 9.0.2 stable without root.
Note that I will list every step even it may be that it hasn't contributed anything to the solution:
1. From fastboot I booted into latest blu_sparc TWRP.
2. I plugged the phone into USB and copied all files from my backup into the usual TWRP folder.
3. I flashed only DATA, nothing else.
4. From TWRP I rebooted directly into bootloader/fastboot.
5. Then I ram the flash-all-partitions.bat from Mauronofrio provided by this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-6/how-to/rom-stock-fastboot-roms-oneplus-6-t3796665 .
6. Crucial step: At the beginning, it asks "Wipe all data?". SELECT NO. It will start "restoring" all other partitions.
7. Reboot the phone and it should work as you left it before creating the backup.
Note that this method worked the restoration of backup data from the same OS and same version. Feel free to try it out on other system images. It's ugly and inconvenient, but it seems to work.
Hey guys,
is there a fail safe way to restore data from a clean twrp backup without soft bricks or PIN error?
I tried to restore a very recent TWRP backup but had serious trouble. At first, it rebooted just fine but upon trying to unlock the device with 4-digit pin it suddenly told me that my usual pin isn't working.
Then I tried deleting the lockscreen.db and other related files. Rebooted and got into the OS, but it got stuck at "starting up device".
The I did a complete wipe without internal storage and tried it again. Then it wouldn't even boot and I had to use the flash-all.bat to flash all partitions "manually" to get it working again.
Now I am afraid of using Oneplus 6 if it's impossible to make a seamless backup/recovery. Is there a guide on how to do this?
Thank you in advance!
This is a known issue though. If you want to make a usable backup in TWRP: Remove the PIN (screen lock), do the backup, and then activate the screen lock again.

I remember having read a thread with this hint too and disabled my security pin in a temporary working OS. Then I did the flashing stuff and I just noticed that my now working restored phone doesn't have a pin anymore. So basically removing this pin on a data backup will make things go smooth? I will keep this in mind, thank you

Galaxy S6 G920F restore stock recovery - possible problems?

Hi, I was given G920F to remove the simlock. Android 7.0 (AP ver. G920FXXU6ERF5). Removed simlock using Z3X box (just bought, it was my first phone I've tried to unlock using this box). To do so, it was necessary to root the phone, so I flashed the latest TWRP with Odin, installed Magisk, removed the simlock. What if I'd like to unroot the phone and back to stock recovery? Simlock won't be back? Will be necessary to wipe data/factory reset? I have full copy of the content of this phone (Smart Switch) and all partitions (TWRP), but let's say that I'd like to do as little as possible steps to restore the phone to original state (of course without lock). The reason why I'd like to unroot is because of many apps shows warnings and / or doesn't fully work (mostly banking apps / Google Pay etc.). I know, some can be cheated with Magisk Hide, but not all of them and let's say it - it's not my phone. When I uninstall Magisk, the phone goes into bootloop and I don't know is it needed to restore stock recovery to get out of the bootloop and what will happen when I do this?
OK, I've checked what will happen if I try to flash stock recovery again... First, I uninstalled Magisk and got bootloop as expected. Then, I flashed back the stock recovery to replace TWRP, but I got bootloop with dm-verity error. I've tried to wipe cache partition, no luck. I have to go back to TWRP and Magisk again. Any ideas how can I unroot the phone?
Edit: OK, once again... I flashed full firmware with Odin. Fortunately no data loss, so I avoided reisntalling / restoring data from backup.

Bootloop When Try the encryption with TWRP and custom ROM

I have a problem with encryption, on Galaxy S6 (g920F) + TWRP and any custom ROM.
The flash of any custom ROM goes correctly, but when I try to encrypt the device (Settings-Security & Location-Encrypt phone), it goes into BootLoop and is no longer bootable. It is as if the block is immediate, as for a moment the screen that should carry out the encryption appears but immediately afterwards it goes to BootLoop
I've tried every version of the Lineage (15-16-17.1) or even PixelExperience, I have also tried various versions of TWRP (3.2.3,3.3.0,3.1.1) but still the same problem.
I think it's either Samsung or TWRP. Is it possible to fix it somehow? I'm doing something wrong?
Thanks

Stuck on TWRP / Fastboot

Hello,
I'm stuck on TWRP, no way to load Android.
TWRP wasn't reading the partition so I tried to repair, pass to EXT2 and back to EXT4.
All got stuck on TWRP, I could only go to fastboot, at boot it goes back to TWRP automatically. The message on TWRP console is :
"Android Rescue Party trigger! Possible solutions?
Either :
1) Wipe caches, and/or
2) Format data, and/or
3) Clean - Flash your ROM
The reported problem is:
"init_user0_failed"
Unable to decrypt FBE device."
TWRP version 3.6.2_12-MI10Ultra_v3.7_A12
First ROM present on device: xiaomi.eu_multi_MI10Ultra_22.6.15_v13-12-fastboot.zip
Second time I tried to flash with fastboot and XiaomiFlash the same ROM, successfully installed, but I was still stuck in the loop.
Third time I flashed xiaomi.eu_multi_MI10Ultra_22.6.29_v13-12.zip with TWRP, successfully, but I'm still stuck on the same loop, Android won't load.
Please I need help, I use the phone for work and actually I've been without for a whole day.

Afternoon matey, not to sure if this is helpful or not, may not be even specific to your device, but the error is the same error, so may shine a little light on the error.
Unable to decrypt FBE device
Plz anybody help this out... I unlocked bootloader, then immediately flashed Pitchblack recovery, then booted into recovery. Initially console shows decrypted FBE device with default password. But Encryption status : Encryped So I went into wipe...

Forgot to add, would recommend reading the whole thread, you can then judge what actually works or not before trying

Please help :( Stuck on bootloop after unlocking bootloader and flashing TWRP

Sorry for being silly but i'm quite the noob on this sort of stuff, and as you can tell from the title i messed up.
I tried following this guide (https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLwEsForen9b3b5jljyGfyLnTC2HOstaEd) to unlock bootloader, flash TWRP and install Magisk and i got up to the end of the video called
[Samsung] Unlock Bootloader, Install TWRP (Universal Guide)After flashing TWRP and clicking wipe, instead of going back and installing no verity (which ironically i needed to prevent bootlooping) i accidentally clicked reboot after the formatting data process was completed, hence why i am stuck on booploop. I tried to take out the battery as well as redo the process + installing no vertity but to no avail.
My phone is Samsung Galaxy J7 2016. If you guys have any solutions let me know as this is kinda my main phone.
