getting 5G signal
Ok, this might help.
Me and a friend got our Note 20 U imported version from Taiwn. It wasn't meant for our region (as Exynos is sold here) so 5G wasn't working.
We were advised by our telecom to upgrade the SIM, even then nothing.
My friend then put his sim in a Fold 2 (which was 5G made for this region) and it immediately detected SIM and 5G was working.
Switched SIM back to Note 20 U and 5G was working.
Try if possible.

Hello all,
I am currently unlocking free T-Mobile SIM unlock services for OnePlus devices. However, I am now wanting to expand my service to the Samsung Galaxy S10 & Note 10 series (5G models included) and eventually the S20 series devices too. My question is, is there one dedication forum section I can post my service offerings instead of posting in each category per phone model? Eg. Is there just a Samsung section or do I have to post in each category per phone model I am servicing?
Thanks!

If you mean to charge for this service and you want to use XDA to advertise the service to make money.....
That is not allowed here.
Edit: nevermind, you know the deal judging by the other unlock threads you have created.

Hello,
I bought a V50 LMV500EM the days. Now I have looked at all the root instructions, but nowhere is this version mentioned.
Can I now assume that for the V500EM no root and TWRP is available or is there still something coming ?
If I have overlooked the corresponding thread, please link times.
And another question. The phone should be able to 5G, n78 band, my sim card can 5G, but have not yet 5G on the display, and in the mobile settings is also only GSM/UMTS and LTE to choose from. No 5G
Or does that come only with the update to Android10 ? I have not yet made any updates and therefore still installed Android9.

As far as i know,in order to be able to connect with 5g,your device must be certified from your gsm carrier, even if it is capable.
Better come in contact with your carrier and they will give you directions on how to do it.
For example in my country, even if you get a 5g capable device, you have to send a message to the carrier from your 5g device, and they send you back some kind of carrier settings in order to be able to connect to 5g.
Just give it a try.

Hello,
I don't know if you found your answers : regarding the 5G connection, it's a kind of joke in V50, there's only one band so if isn't the one supported by your carrier don't wait too long for 5G. concerning the root and trwp, I assume that you didn't go deeper on the various threads because you maybe saw this one talking about rooting and bootloader unlocking. As you have the V500EM you don't need the parts of the thread explaining how to unlock the bootloader, just go through the official way with the LG code. And at last, regarding the updates you can install updates by yourself using kdz files and lg up software, currently we are at android 11, to find kdz files and how to use lg up go through this site or this one and look for your model.
Hope these little tips will help you.
@Int976
Hi,
thanks for your support, but I returned the smartphone and am now waiting for the Xperia 5 iii.
The 5G on the V50 was really a joke and have tested it with 2 different providers, so in 2 different networks. But neither in the one nor in the other network 5G had although n78 is supported. However, the battery life did not convince me either. It may be that the battery was no longer the freshest due to storage.
I knew that the V500EM can be officially unlocked by LG, but that's no use if the TWRP is not adapted for the 500EM. Because the threads I had all through. But in the TWRP threads was only the Korean model the speech.
Well now it's too late. But thanks anyway that you wanted to help me.

Hi,

Two things I notice is that my phone does have 4g lte, and the ATT variant S7(SM-G930A) will still work on their network after Feb 2022.
So I am wondering, is possible to make my phone still work on their network by installing ATT variant firmware?
Thanks

I received the Poco X3 Pro for Christmas, I am currently residing overseas in Europe (Netherlands) temporarily, but I will be moving back to my home in the USA in a few months time.
My question is: Will I not be able to use this phone in the USA? The area I live in is serviced by Verizon and appears to have B2 1900 , B4 1700/2100 AWS and B5 850 - which on paper the phone can utilize? However I'm reading that people are still not able to activate a SIM card in the USA with this phone?
I really, really like this phone.. I followed all the tutorials for disabling the bloatware and everything.. it's really a great phone so far, but now I'm worried it won't work.
Sorry if this has been covered before, I did search and didn't find an answer.

Oh shoot, my bad I didn't even realize I posted in the wrong forum. I'll wait and see if a mod can move it for me.
I did see that thread it's a year old though and for the NFC version of the phone, I wasn't sure if anything had been 'updated' or if Verizon was working with owners of these phones to activate or what not.
Well true, in the thread they do say that Xiaomi has a history with us bands but as one of them said that it will partially work and you can compare the 2 phones together on GSMArena and see they're almost the same

I've closed that one! And I suggest to review the XDA Forum Rules, to which you agreed to adhere when you registered yesterday; currently focus on rule no. 5 and post only once. Please be aware that XDA currently has 3.5+M threads with 78+M posts. We can't "patrol" them all i.e. we require your support. I believe the answer would be no, since I've seen Korean news sites reporting that the Fold4/Flip4 will finally bring e-sim support to Sth Korea.
