Hello,
I'm not using Google Pay because I'm not adult yet. Is there any option to remove the banner telling me to add a card from my power menu?

Well unfortunately not yet, there will be eventually so themes and customizations available for the power menu but you'll have to wait for it.

Open the main Android settings, search for "cards" and disable it under "Cards & Passes". :good:

I just installed launcher pro and was wondering how to get the 2nd icon to work [looks like a person]. I'm assuming it's for contacts.
Every time I click on it, it says "Application is not installed on your phone".
What app do I need to install for it to work?!
press and hold. It will ask what you want to associate it to and select applications and then scroll to contacts

Yup, thats how you do it. Took me awhile to figure that one out myself, haha. Glad the OP got it fixed
To disable apps: Go into your app drawer, hit the settings button in the upper right, hit manage apps. Tap the app you want to disable and it will give you the option
Go to the "all" section on the right.
These are the apps that I consider to be bloat and can be safely disabled.
EDIT: These can be force uninstalled with Titanium Backup with root access
-Amazon Kindle
-AT&T Contacts SyncMLProvider
-AT&T Contacts SyncMLService
-Flickr
-FlickrAPIEngine
-AT&T Address Book
-AT&T Code Scanner
-AT&T Ready2Go
-AT&T FamilyMap
-AT&T Hot Spots (this may help connectivity issues if you're in a city, unconfirmed)
-AT&T Navigator (use google maps)
-City ID
-Device Help
-HTC hub widget
-HtcBeatsNotify. (what I did here is I started playing music, disabled "beats", and then disabled this notification. I hate anything beats including this preset EQ that ruins music)
-Live TV
-MOG Music
-myAT&T
-SoundHound
-Top HD Games
-TuneIn Radio
-Yellow pages
-YPmobile (after uninstalling updates, thanks IdiotSavante)
do they still show up in the app drawer? Or do they simply not open if selected? I haven't ever disabled apps before as I've been on custom roms for about 18 months now.
Looking forward to the new phone on tuesday, and I'm planning on running it stock for at least a while, so this is good info

They won't show up in the app drawer and they won't run in the background. You don't know they're there unless you go back into manage apps
awesome, thanks
Do you know if it is safe to disable AT&T Ready2Go as well?

The uninstall updates button is where the disable button usually is. Click that, and then the disable button will appear.
Which ones are coming back? None from that list come back for me.

I see the disable button but it is greyed out for ready2go. It gives no option for disable.
The ones that came back were the google related.. like books, music, g+... and live TV..
Also I can sometimes see Flickr running even though it shows as disabled.
Oh sorry, yeah. Ready2Go can't be disabled without root.
And I left books / music / g+ installed. Can't test that
Live TV is gone for me - disabled it
I found another app that had Flickr in it... disabled that one.

Oh right, totally overlooked that one. Has anyone tried disabling all the Friend Stream stuff?
You guys are awesome! I came from the iPhone so all this is pretty new to me so I wanted to thank you and the others for all of this very very helpful information

I figure someone must have posted a script to toggle the "Use Invisible Mode" option in our xda profile, preferably something that will run on Windows. Any idea where I might find such a thing? Thanks!

Hello there. Thanks for using XDA Assist.
You can try this one here to have that one Activated
Control Panel > Settings & Options > Edit options.
Thanks.

Thanks, yes, I use that all the time. Believe it or not, I want to save myself from having to open the page and click the "invisible" box, scroll to bottom and click save, and go back to page I was on. Lol. Can't believe I'm the first to wish for this. An "xda invisible" browser plug in would be great! :silly:
Anyway, thanks for your time!
I got google app (whatever that is) disabled so that fixes the problem of google starting when I hold down the home key. Is there any way to program it to something else? Now it does nothing for a long press. That's still better than bringing up google-anything but I would like to be able to assign some function to the key.

Thanks. I didn't find that in the settings but then I realized maybe you meant there is an app for it?
Anyway I fixed it in Nova Launcher.

Ok, thanks. Nova is able to set it up like I want so I'm ok.
Hey folks,
I'd like to create any kind of shortcut or automation, that allows me to clear a specific app's data with just a single click. I'm tired of navigating to the settings menu for doing so. I've already searched (google) for some valid solution, but was unable to find some satisfacting answer...
P.S. already tried different automation apps, which provide over 200 pretty useless different functions. All crap as I only need a shortcut for "clearing app data".
Any working solutions are highly appreciated.
with nova launcher.just longpress app's icon and there is a button that leads u to app info.

Nice to know, but not what I'm looking for. At the moment the best solution is to have the app info in recents. But thats still:
1. click recents
2. click select tab in recents
3. click delete app data
4. click confirm
5. click home button
That is simply too much. Its possible doing so using ADB command, but its not working without a pc.
I'd like to have it with a single click from home screen. I'm willed to buy any needed apps.

Terminal Shortcut Pro lets you add scripts as widgets on homescreen! Thats exactly what you're looking for right?
It needs root though.
Code:
#!/system/bin/sh
pm clear your.app.name
