My MCU is a MCTE_HT_V3.53_1 Are there any other mcu's (HA, KDL etc.) That are compatible with it?
My reply doesn't bring much to the table so I apologize for that but I have the exact same MCU and I've been searching for a few months now and have not found any conclusive proof then you can switch. Although it does sound like a lot of the MCUs are Universal. Not only have I not found any info on compatible with HT but there is also very little talk Of the newer firmware like me and you have everything I've seen is based off of much older MCUs. Just out of curiosity what reason do you have for wanting to switch your MCU

Same here off Amazon. Been a great unit. Downgraded to android 9 to use hal9k rom but gonna switch to Malaysk rom this week now that he put out an android 10 variant
Sent from my SM-N986U1 using Tapatalk
Actually I was looking at the different ROM's. I used to use Malaysk's ROM's all the time on my older units but will probably try out the HAL9k once it is android 10. I was able to root the stock ROM. Problem is, I have everything working damn near perfectly as it is. The only thing I have even the slightest issue with is my TPMS software after resuming from standby...but I've fixed it using the startup from the AGAMA launcher.
AGAMA
PowerAmp
NavRadio+
MCTDialer
Between these packages everything is slick. Sound quality is great on calls. Agama gives me the google button on the main screen which plays any song on my SD card by voice command, I can dial any number in my phone book by voice command with MCTDialer and the Navradio+ is a stellar interface for the radio tuner.
I have had several HU's over the years and this one is head and shoulder the best I have ever had.
yeah i get it mine was rooted stock 10 and really ran nice also. never got mctdialer working though. it came baked into hal9k too.

How do I extract it? I mean pull it from the HU. The seller wasn't really up to sending me it in zipped form.
I flashed a different one and am now getting an error, anyone have the original as listed above? I also have a vanku.
Thanks in advance guys

I got my NS on December and I am extremely happy with it, though I face a problem when it comes to talking to someone through the original headset. According to them, they can hear all the background noises WAY louder than they are supposed to and they cannot hear my voice! This is clearly a headset problem since I get no such complaints when I am using the phone's microphone and although I can accept that there will be some extra bg noise when talking through the headset I find it hard to believe that I would deafen them by the use of my hands free.
Does anyone face the same problem? Does someone have to propose another kind/3rd party headset that would work better or perhaps some sort of a software tweak that elludes me...
Running ICS 4.0.4 stock unrooted.
Thank you in advance.

Got a weird problem here with my 1727r. Rooting is is basically the only thing I've done with it, no fancy roms or anything.
Here's the problem: People can only hear my talking to them when I put them on speakerphone. If i'm using the phone like a regular hand-held, they don't hear me. I even tested this myself, calling my home landline and leaving my skyrocket near some speakers. Nothing comes out the other end. Tried with speakerphone and it works.
android version: 2.3.5
kernel: 2.6.35.11
Would really appreciate some help if anyone can offer some.

Well, generally there are ways of fixing things, this forum is full of details of tuning every little part of your phone and getting all the potential out of it. I was expecting it to be possible to fix, as that's what I usually do when my items break, but it seems you're intent on being useless. So I'll just award you full marks for that and try to get help elsewhere.
It seems like a hardware problem that software tweaks don't fix. Good luck with it man

I've seen this reported across different phones
I had this happen with my Atrix and have seen reports from across the android products. It almost has to be a software glitch that allows it to get 'stuck'. Do you get music through your headphone jack?
When I connect my phone via bluetooth or aux no Pandora information is displayed on the dash, Google music displays information fine. I remember running across a thread one time where there was a possible fix if you were rooted...at the time I read the thread I wasn't rooted so I didn't pay much attention....now I am rooted, running cleanrom. Any ideas? It's not a huge deal but it sure would be nice if it worked.
Well aux isn't a type of connection to display information like that. I'm rooted running clean rom and pandora displays just fine on my pioneer lcd screen in my car via bluetooth. So it use to work but doesn't anymore after having rooted and running clean rom?

It's never worked. I've Googled a bit and read some threads on it working with CM 10 (other phones) so it's obviously a file or setting somewhere.....this is the kind of little tiny thing that can give me ocd
No I understand lol You're sure that you car is capable of displaying pandora information? Have you tried with another phone? It's working me but not sure. Is there any settings in the car?

I have no idea if works with another phone. The car as far as I know does not have any "advanced" bluetooth settings but I could be wrong. I have no idea if it's capable of displaying Pandora info but it was built in 2013 so I would hope it is. I will check with the dealership but I don't see why G Music would work but Pandora would not.
My 2012 Jetta has never displayed Pandora music info on the screen. I've used a droid RAZR, HTC rezound and my gs3. But my friends iPhone 4 does display the info in my car. So I'm assuming its an android issue not a specific ROM issue.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
In doing a bit of googling, the Pandora android app doesn't have AVRCP metadata support...meaning it doesn't send the info to be displayed. However some one has a github showing how to alter the Pandora app so it will.
On the bottom of the first post in this Honda Civic forum (sorry) http://www.9thgencivic.com/forum/au...-support-android-album-track-information.html the OP posted an altered Pandora that will stream data. Try it.
Oh yeah, CM has yet to merge the Bluetooth AVRCP 1.3 (and it may be quite a while, so I've read). So even if you do download the modded Pandora, it won't work with CM. And that applies to any rom that uses CM as a base.
That works! Unfortunately I don't think I can handle the ads... Thanks for your post!

So I've been battling with this for a while now and I really don't want to have to go back to my TW based ROMs to fix it. I updated to CM 10.1.2 and discovered that BT audio on Jelly Bean was horrible, it was distorted and skippy to the point that I could not listen to it. I then tried updating to CM 10.2 because some people have said it was fixed in that... no dice, still skippy and distorted. I tried the PAC-MAN ROM, both the latest RC and nightly, still not working. I also tried ParanoidAndroid 3.99 with no luck. So I went back to CleanROM (a TW based ICS ROM) and everything was fine.
But the AOSP ROMS were too good to stay away from! I really love the PAC-MAN ROM and I recently flashed back to the 9/19 nightly. Before I did this I made sure to wipe EVERYTHING. I did a full SD card and internal storage wipe, wiped the system, wiped data, factory reset, wiped cache, the whole nine yards (although when I boot into download mode, under the binaries it says "3 count", what is that about?). So I flushed the whole phone and reflashed PAC-MAN, I still had the problem.
What I want to do here is get any accounts from people who have had the same problem and fixed it. I know a lot of people have posted about it before but I've tried everything with no success! So please, let me know if you know how to fix this, or any insight you might have on the issue.
Thank you so much!

What do you mean you reset the head unit? I'm using a receiver that plugs into 12v and outputs the audio via headphone cable to the car. Do you think just unplugging and plugging back in would be equivalent?

I don't think there is any type of reset on the device. This is what I'm using http://www.amazon.com/Technologies-TuneLink-Bluetooth-Wireless-Adapter/dp/B004NQDU5E/ref=pd_sim_sbs_cps_1 It connects to my phone and then outputs the audio via a cable that goes into my car stereo's aux input. I'll dig around and see if there might be.

I'm not on an AOSP rom but have read many similar posts to this while trying to fix my 4.1.2 issue for voice input not working on bluetooth devices (which I still haven't solved).
In any case, I have seen instances were people have modified the /system/etc/bluetooth/audio.conf file in order to resolve the choppiness and sound distorting. I can't remember all the specific changes but I do believe they involved changing some of the following lines:
from:
Code:
#AutoConnect=true
#[Headset]
#HFP=true
to
Code:
AutoConnect=true
[Headset]
HFP=true
Couldn't hurt to look and try.

Yeah, I've seen stuff like that too. Thing is, on AOSP (at least from what I've observed) the Bluetooth is setup different. There is no audio.conf file
Thank you though!
Edit: I think it is actually 4.2 that is setup different, probably not unique to AOSP, but all the 4.2 ROMS I've used have been AOSP

Ah, good to know. I have not used any non-TW roms on my S3 yet (hence I have not gone above 4.1.2).
Another thing to look at is your kernel. Are you undervolted at all? Undervolting too much caused similar issues with my GNex back in the day. Could be worth looking into raising your voltage just a little and see if that helps.
I haven't undervolted in a while. I've changed ROMs a ton of times since then. That would reset back to stock voltages, correct?
edit: sorry for the double post

Depends on what kernel comes with the rom. Some kernels are undervolted out of the box while others are not. It's at the discretion of the kernel developer.

Nope I got fed up and just stopped trying
I want to love this phone but I am having difficulty for one reason: Bluetooth issues.
So I have a Note 3, my wife has an S4, a friend has an S5. 2 I know have the M8. I loved the Note 3 but Kit Kat has killed it until I can root it at least.
Anyway, all of these phones work flawlessly streaming bluetooth music to my car EXCEPT the M8. I had a Rezound for 5 minutes and it had the same issue. It is just this annoying clicking sound that is similar but worse than the stock camera click. It happens about every 10 seconds on the dot. I drive a 2011 Kia Optima LX (daddy car, ha). I know it isn't boom sound because that isn't enabled over bluetooth. I tried playing with max volume, low volume, mid volume. I tried a 3rd party equalizer. I tried streaming music, youtube videos/music, local files...all the same clicking. ALL HTC phones I have tried have the same issue! I I have no idea what to try. I also tried turning NFC off...wifi off. Driving out into the middle of nowhere to make sure there is no interference. This does not happen through the speakers or headphones. Only Bluetooth. I am at wits end!
I really would hate to return this over that issue, but I will. I want to love it - but something like this is annoying enough to make me hate it. Does anyone have any ideas as to what I cold do to fix this?
Thanks for any information.
I have the same problem with Pandora over Bluetooth in a Chevy Equinox and on my Beats Box portable. This did Not happen with my HTC Rezound. Does anyone have a fix for this ? Just makes me want to explode !

Hmm. Well that's interesting. Maybe I just got a dud this round. Do you happen to have a car bluetooth that streams media?
FWIW I have horrendous issues with the HTC m8 and the A2DP BT Audio Streaming in my car where in the past my S3 and S4 had 0 issues what so ever.
In some cases it won't pair consistently and other times even when it is paired, I can't control the app to play/advance tracks. I hope/expect HTC is aware of this and is working on a resolution.

Last question, have you tried using google play music at the highest quality setting? After further research - I believe this is directly related to the known issue with FLAC files. HQ Play Music will stream FLAC depending on the artist. I would be interested as to if you have tried that at all and if it exists on viper rom.
I was able to repro the issue on multiple devices and that enabled me to narrow the device itself out. That's kind of good/bad news, haha. Google has a fix but it did not make the cut for 4.4.2 - so I am curious as to if some of the leaked stuff has the fix or not. Trial and error will likely be the only way to know. http://www.androidpolice.com/2014/0...nd-stuttering-on-android-4-4-a-fix-is-coming/ describes the issue to a T.
