Proximity sensor - random operation - Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 Questions & Answers

After updating mix3 to miui12, the proximity sensor works randomly. Whether I'm making a call through an application or GSM, after taking the phone away from my ear, the screen does not always light up immediately. Sometimes I have to wait for the caller to hang up.
Do you have that too?
I used the abbreviation * # * # 6484 # * # * and did the test. It turns out that it is working properly. Then why doesn't it work during conversations?

[REQ] Proximity sensor app to disable screen on various apps.

Is there an app that can monitor the proximity sensor based on a user defined list of apps and turn off the screen?
For example; the US T-Mobile Visual Voicemail app is nice to have, BUT when you place the phone to your ear (to listen to the voicemail) it may tap the close icon or activate something. It definitely needs the auto screen off feature.
Add in the ability to also use the g-sensor and when the phone is upside down (or sideways) and the proximity sensor (or light sensor) is triggered, put the phone to sleep. This would be triggered when the phone is about to be placed into my pocket.
I agree. I find that if I put the HD2 up to my ear to hear a Visual Voicemail message, I invariably hit the screen with some part of my ear which stops playback and often initiates deleting the recording. Surely there is a way to activate the proximity sensor while running this app?
it will be nice to fring o r numbuzz too

I canĀ“t disable the proximity sensor during calls

When my screen turns off, the microphone stops working... this is a bug in the Rom... this is annoying during calls.
I tried to disable the proximity sensor with:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=25506531&postcount=44
and
gsm.proximity.enable=false
but nothing works.
Or how could i prevent that the screen dims/turns off during calls.
Flash a ROM without that bug. Have you asked the developer?
The developer is working on it.
But is there another way to disable the proximity sensor?

Proximity sensor disabled while in-call and bluetooth enabled; Galaxy S6 G920F

If I'm wearing my neckbuds and someone calls me with my phone in my pocket, I am prone to adding other people to the call and hanging up, due to the display not turning off, ever. Toggling the bluetooth function inside the call enables earpiece and turns on the proximity sensor again, and turning on speakerphone creates the same situation as with bluetooth enabled.
I've tried multiple apps to resolve this issue, among them "Llama", which configured correctly will turn off the display every time I pick up the phone and bluetooth is enabled. However this turns it off even if I'm actively using the phone and also requires me to unlock the phone via my security pattern due to a third-party app turning off the screen (versus my usual fingerprint unlock).
"On Call Proximity" would've done the trick, had it only worked on my model.
I've tried so many different dialer apps I don't have count of them, and those that do have a replacement for the in-caller look like crap and has pretty limited functionality.

[APP][2.3+] pickRingStop: Pick up your phone to stop ringing

*** This app might not work properly on Lollipop devices (Android 5.x) when Do Not Disturb is active ***
This app silences the ringtone of an incoming call when you pick up your device from a standstill location, say from a table. Also you can enable to silence the ringtone by waving over the phone.
The app uses accelerometer reading to detect pick up motion and proximity sensor reading to detect wave motion. It is advised to change the "Pick sensitivity" if necessary. No service is constantly running, hence this app won't drain any battery.
Permissions:
READ_PHONE_STATE: allows to detect incoming call. The app doesn't store the call details.
Do Not Disturb access: required to change ringtone volume when phone is in DND mode.
Internet access: used only to display ads.
