Trouble unlocking device using fastboot - Google Pixel 2 Questions & Answers

I purchased my pixel 2 refurbished and it said it was an "unlocked" device. However that was clearly not the case. I am afraid I have a lock down device.
fastboot flashing unlock
FAILED (remote: 'Flashing Unlock is not allowed')
The bootloader reads:
Bootloader: mw8998-002.0083.00
Baseband: g8998-00023-2004070200
Some device information... (Serial, ram etc...)
Boot-slot: a
Consoleisabled
Secure boot: Yes (PRODUCTION)
Device Starte: Locked
Is there anything I can do to get my device rooted, or am I hosed?

I own multiple compiled .ftf's, one downloaded from XperiFirm and compiled with FlashTool. Phone is currently on D2406_SEU_1287-4567_18.3.C.0.37_R1B as requested in Xperia "Official Bootloader Unlocking" tutorial. I've unlocked bootloader before and used CM without issues, has anything changed?
I tried EagleRootToool to flash_image my way into installing TWRP on 'boot' partition in 5.1.1 but that failed since only PIE are allowed.
Has anyone dealt with this issue? I would really appreciate any help regarding unlocking the bootloader, as I've understood the bootloader is never being unlocked.
My Xperia Theft Protection disabled? It might block any unlock attempt...

Help please: Google Pixel 2 - ERROR: Slot Unbootable: Load Error

I have a verizon pixel 2 and I had the bootloader unlocked. But I am sending it in for trade in and was going to revert everything. Well I had wiped it and then went into the bootloader and ran fastboot flashing lock
and boom got that yellow bar on the bottom with
ERROR: Slot Unbootable: Load Error
(so I think there were some other things I was supposed to do prior??)
On the screen it also says
Bootloader: mw8998-002.0069.00
Baseband: g8998-00202-1802061358
Boot-slot: b
Console: Disabled
Secure boot: yes (production)
Device State: Locked
so now Im stuck...
I ran this
Code:
./fastboot devices
serial#### fastboot
so it recognizes the phone.
Code:
/fastboot flash bootloader bootloader-walleye-mw8998-002.0069.00.img
Sending 'bootloader_b' (38696 KB) OKAY [ 0.954s]
Writing 'bootloader_b' FAILED (remote: 'Operation is not allowed in Lock State')
fastboot: error: Command failed
It's telling me not allowed in Lock state. Please if anyone can help that would be amazing.
thanks
Hi, try to unlock your bootloader again and than you could be able to flash your phone via fastboot again.
I can't unlock the bootloader again. It's a Verizon version not Google store version
Try Deuce's script. Should fix her right up.

[Q] Unlock bootloader of Wiko Rainbow sibling: Wiko Y80

Hi everybody,
I know this is a thread about Wiko Rainbow not about Y80, but maybe someone had the following problem in the past...
I would like to unlock the bootloader of a Wiko Y80 to install a custom ROM.
On the Internet, there are many pages where there is the same guide (written in different ways) for unlocking the bootloader using 'fastboot'.
The problem is that 'fastboot' does not work because:
fastboot flashing unlock > FAILED (remote: Not implemet.)
fastboot oem unlock > FAILED (remote: unknown cmd.)
fastboot oem get_unlock_data > FAILED (remote: unknown cmd.)
fastboot flashing unlock_critical > FAILED (remote: Not implement.)
By chance, does anyone know if there is another way for unlocking the bootloader or, even better, to flash a ROM like LineageOS GSI?
I would like to have some news from guys who really made/tried it successfully.
Thanks,
Roberto
I hoped i would be able to do this as well but nope, no luck
I managed on Y61 just enable oem unlock in developer settings then run
Code:
fastboot flashing unlock

Unlock Bootloader Doogee X95

Hey all,
Trying to unlock Bootloader on Doogee X95. I've managed to get as far as selecting yes to unlock bootloader from fastboot mode however it fails. When pressing vol up it says "unlock failed" with no further reason then returns to fastboot menu.
In the cmd window the following was printed:
fastboot flashing unlock
<bootloader> start unlock flow
FAILED (remote: '
Unlock operation is not allowed
'>
fastboot: error: Command failed
Any ideas on what might be going on? Is this just one of those phones that do not allow for bootloader to be unlocked?
I've accidentally rebooted into fastboot mode menu rather than bootloader once and the info on bootloader it had was:
Bootloader version - Unknown
Trying to see if I can flash full/original android onto it to replace android go it has from manufacturer to open display over apps feature.

recently bought Pixel 2(with no sim carrier) with OEM unlock enable in developer options can't unlock it bootloader.

I recently bought a new Pixel 2 to install a custom OS. In the developer option OEM unlocked is enable. but after I tried to "fastboot flashing unlock" in cmd it return this error.
FAILED (remote: 'Flashing Unlock is not allowed
')
fastboot: error: Command failed
and when I return to Developer option the OEM unlocking become grayed out.
I could return the OEM unlocking to enabled again if I factory reset the whole phone. but I still couldn't unlock the bootloader.
how can I fix this and unlock my bootloader?
edit: i tried to used "fastboot flashing lock_critical" command but the output become.
FAILED (remote: 'unknown command')
I used this platform tool: platform-tools_r33.0.2-window
(according to this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/oem-unlocking-issue-solved.3716668/)
My Pixel2 OEM Unlocking was greyed out but it appeared availble to change once I rebooted having connected to the internet. Then I was able to carry on towards unlocking etc.

That's interesting, I just got a pixel 2 but unlocking is disabled, toggle greyed out after attempting. How much did you pay?
Does he have some alternative way to undo the restrictions?

I'm in the same boat, tried everything I could find.
Is your pixel 2 also set to boot-slot: B by default?
