I got the phone today, but I there is no volte option in setting. I had volte options in my oneplus 5t. Is there secret codes to force unable the option? I am on three UK sim.
Other way round for me.
On BT Mobile (and EE) UK I could never get 4G calling on my old XZ2. Xperia5 II plugged in sim and it was a notifications bar quick button and available in settings straight away.
Comes under:
Settings -> Network & Internet -> Mobile > Advanced > Calling
I have made few calls and it seem they were made over 4G because status bar icon didn't change from 4G to 3G so I guess I do have VOLTE enabled but I don't have option in setting.
Further more I checked the info section and the volte provision option is enabled and grayed out. I don't understand why I don't have option for volte but it works for don't care much about it now.
Edit = WiFi calling option is available in setting and it works too.
I have 4G Calling option available for my O2 sim and VoLTE for my Telekom sim. WiFi calling option is also there.
I only get VOLTE option on my UK 3 sim. On my Spanish O2 SIM it's not available (though I know for sure the service is enabled but only for certain devices)

Weird, I am using UK 3 SIM as well and I don't get option for volte but I am able to make calls over 4G. Don't know why is option hidden.
It is activated by standard if technically possible. There is no reason to deactivate it, so no switch is needed.
VoLTE/ Wifi calling are enabled by the operator. Maybe your operator has not certified Xperia 5 ii yet.
Check with your operator
4G Calling is actually VoLTE, so you have it and you are using it already as you stated above. No worries! ?

Hi. I asked in another thread about WiFi calling working for the Xperia 5 II on BT Mobile. If 4G calling works then hopefully WiFi calling too?.
Can you confirm? Thx.

I should have clarified my previous post. The selectable option (quick button and menu) is to turn Wifi Calling on/off. VOLTE/4G calling is just fixed as provisioned. You can see this in the service menu (*#*#4636#*#*)
The service providers are clueless when you ask if they do or don't support Wifi/VOLTE calling.
So yes both available and working on BT Mobile.

I have a HTC u11 coming from O2 but now sim unlocked. I use it with my EE sim but I can't find a way to have 4g calling and Wi-Fi calling.
Someone could help?
EE support says that 4g calling is enabled on my line.
Looking in settings under call there is no option to enable wifi calling and as well when I make a normal mobile call the phone goes in "H"
Thank you for your help
Apn settings?. Settings>mobile data>access point names>

Haven't you asked this question already? I imagine you are on O2 firmware so it won't work. Did you enable it in the phone settings
Has anyone been able to set up WiFi Calling using Pixel 3 on BT network (UK) ?
People report being able to do so with Pixel 1 and Pixel 2, but I just cannot get it working with my Pixel 3.
Anny advice/suggestions please?
Are you pay as you go or pay monthly?
That I'm aware of, Wi-Fi Calling is only available with EE and for pay monthly customers.
I know BT runs on EE network, but assuming it still works (which I'm not sure about), I would imagine they apply the same restrictions.
Anyway, I'm a EE PAYGo customer and still I do have the option to enable Wi-Fi Calling.
But still, I'm not sure it actually works.
Thanks matteventu, I am a monthly contract payer.
BT definitely DO offer wifi calling - but state that it is primarily iPhone and latest Samsung phones that they support.
Many report success with P1 and P2, so hoping P3 will be OK too....
I'm on EE contract and WiFi calling definitely works.

Seconding, WiFi calling on EE working no problems.
Btw how do you check you have VoLTE enabled? Is there any visual indicator?

Just make a phone call. If you see the network switches to 3G/H, then you don't have VoLTE. If during the phone call you still see the 4G/LTE icon, then you have VoLTE.
(Of course, don't be connected to WiFi to make this test call if you also have Wi-Fi calling XD)
The question indeed is: how do I get proof my Wi-Fi calling works?
I know if you enable it in the settings, then if you go in Info on this phone you see that in "mobile network" that it's not connected to LTE/HSPA, but to "IWLAN" - that from I understood stands for Wi-Fi calling.
The question is. I can enable Wi-Fi calling in the settings, and I do see IWLAN as mobile network type for calls (in place of LTE/HSPA) if I'm connected to Wi-Fi. But does this ASSURE me that I'll be using Wi-Fi for calls? Because I am a EE PAYGo customers and according to their info, I am not supposed to be able to use Wi-Fi calling. So, because I have the options it means I am using it, or the option just shows for everybody and if I'm a PAYGo customer even if I have it enablerd, it won't actually work?
Does anybody can think of any test I can do to see if it works?
Thank you!

Thanks for the tip ! Was so used to the volte icon on the s8 that I had no idea how to check .
Allow me to return the favour .
Slide down the notification pane all the way to the bottom and if you have WiFi calling it'll have your network name + WiFi calling next to it .
Screenshot for reference

Ohhh I see. Then that's why I didn't know if it worked, because I never saw that "EE Wi-Fi Calling" and didn't even know it was supposed to be there with Wi-Fi enabled *and* actually working ?
Thank you, now I'm 100% sure EE stands to their terms lol and I have no Wi-Fi calling as PAYGo customer ?
Finally it works fine. I had to chat with BT Mobile and they had to activate it for me.

4G is technically LTE. The Xiaomi firmware doesn't seem to have an LTE icon, at least not that I have seen. 4G and 4G+ are LTE and LTE-A.

After the *#*#86583#*#, try going into Mobile & Networks, and select your SIM card. There should be a VoLTE enabled option now. This option didn't show up for me until I did that and then I had to turn it on.
There's now a tiny VoLTE icon in the notification bar and when I'm on a call, it stays there.
Try code *#*#869434*#*# to disable VoWIFI check. And check if it working on T-Mobile.
I don't have Tmobile to check it.

What ROM's have people tried for WiFi Calling? Does the OP refer to T-Mobile in the UK/EU or USA? The Global Stable seems to have some less features compared to the Chinese Stable. I had Advanced Messaging working in the default text app when I was on Chinese Stable by doing nothing but it does not seem to work on the Global Stable.

Eu global the lastest one 10.2.2.0
Ever find a solution to this? I am on MIUI Global 10.3 (Stable) and am able to turn off Mobile data( T Mobile is my carrier in U.S.) and with my WiFi on the device i can still make and receive phone calls. In this configuration i obviously still see my WiFi symbol in the Notification bar as well as the VoLTE symbol. Don't know if this will help you at all, but it is some stuff i have noticed recently when i was trying to figure out why T-Mobile apps dont work on my Mi Mix 3.
With WiFi turned off and Mobile Data turned on i am able to make phone calls(obviously) with VoLTE and am able to see the LTE+ symbol in the Notification bar as well.
If i go to About Phone --> Tap "Internal Storage" 4 time(brings you to the Testing Menu) and looking into the Phone Info i see the following...
Set Preferred Network Type: LTE/TD-SCDMA/UMTS
Mobile Radio Power: On
VoLTE Provisioned: Off
Video Calling Provisioned: Off
WiFi Calling Provisioned: Off
EAB/Presence Provisioned: Off
When i bring this menu up on my previous phone(LG G7 ThinQ) i see that the Preferred Network type was different...so i changed my Mi Mix 3 just to match to see how it would change
My LG G7(without a SIM inserted) shows the following
Set Preferred Network Type: LTE/UMTS auto (PRL)
Mobile Radio Power: On
VoLTE Provisioned: On
Video Calling Provisioned: On
WiFi Calling Provisioned: On
EAB/Presence Provisioned: Off
Changing the network type on my Mi Mix 3 didnt do much, however when i changed it LTE/CDMA/UMTS auto(PRL) the VoLTE Provisioned and Video Calling Provisioned both switched to "On".
I dont quite understand this so for the most part i have just left it to match my LG's setting since i can change the network type back to LTE/UMTS auto(PRL) after and the settings stay set to "On"
Made a few test phone calls after with WiFi on and off, everything seems to work just fine regardless of what the phone displays.

Put the device in airplane mode, then turn on WiFi. Can you make calls? I can't! Turning on WiFi and enabling WiFi Calling doesn't mean the calls are going over WiFi. Especially if you are still seeing VoLTE or any time of mobile network connection.
Edit: Go down to the very bottom, hit more, hit IMS status, and see what it says.
Yeah I looked at the IMIS before, voice over wifi has always(I assume) said not unavailable

No access to the IMS settimgs is more than likely why we can't get it working. We cam't see the settings to even compare them to what they should be.
I am on MIUI Global 10.3 (Stable) / Chinese Device / T-Mobile Germany.
VoWiFi as well as VoLTE are working on my device, however you need root access to enable the VoWiFi profile.
Once it is working you will see the WiFi calling icon in the status bar.
I was following this guide to enable WiFi calling on the Mi Mix 3:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/poco-f1/how-to/guide-activate-vowifi-wlan-call-t3871263
I don't know if the mentioned profile will work in other countries as well but maybe someone with more insight can shed some light into this.
I remember that VoLTE was working out of the box, you just have to disable the carrier check with the USSD code to make it available in settings.
VoWiFi can be enabled via USSD code as well, however even after changing the setting to enabled and preferred WiFi calling it does not register without the profile change.
VoLTE: *#*#86583#*#*
VoWiFi: *#*#869434#*#*
I had to redo the profile change after each upgrade with TWRP, since the firmware partitions get updated as well.
I hope this will help. :fingers-crossed:
I have Mix 3 with U.S T-Mobile service. After disabling the VoWiFi check with *#*#869434#*#*, the option for WiFi calling check box appears under the T-Mobile SIM section, but WiFi calling is not working when tested under airplane mode with WiFi enabled.
Vowifi works fine on MTS (Russia). All you need:
1. Activate vowifi service from the operator
2. Disable service check by command: *#*#869434#*#*
3. Create folder into: /system_root/system/priv-app/MBNLoader
4. Copy into this folder APK: MBNLoader.apk (View attachment MBNLoader.apk
5. Give right privileges: -rw-r--r--
6. Reboot phone
7. Install from play market QuickshortcutMaker: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sika524.android.quickshortcut
8. Open it and go to tab apps
9. Find Modem Config
10. Open it (tap) and you will see a lot of MCFG Modem configs.
11. Try one by one to start vowifi working
12. Enjoy!

I am having problems with calls coming in over Wi-Fi. However, in Settings under Wi-Fi & internet, there is no Wi-Fi calling entry, so I cannot find how to turn off Wi-Fi calling.
Is there another method for turning it off? A package I can disable? (I have root.)

Tried the OnePlusLogKit, but the *#800# didn't bring up anything.
Tried *#*#4636#*#*, but when I toggled 'WiFi Calling Provisioned', it would "stick" - the Update button produced an error, and it reset on reboot.

This may all be my misconstruing the problem. After turning off wifi call, I tried calling my wife (which was where I notice the problem), and we still couldn't hear each other. Yet when I call voicemail, I can hear it and I can change my announcement which shows that the phone does work both ways. Therefore, now I'm thinking that wifi calling was not the issue, and the fault is somewhere with t-mobile. The mystery continues.
The mystery deepens. Using Google Hangouts Dialer (which goes over wifi), calling my wife fails (nothing heard either way), but calling voicemail, again, works just fine. I just don't get it.

Thanks for this thread. I knew I saw that somewhere but forgot to check the SIM menu.
Why isn't it in settings search when even dev options are?
Why does TMO lie and way it is in the same spot as most phones, in their article specifically about the OP7p?
My issue in on a WiFi call, sometimes I can't hear them (but they can hear me), sometime from the call start other times mid-call, and turning off WiFi fixes it. I have 1000mb fiber and no other network issues. Too bad it doesn't work. Thanks for helping me disable it.
I have the european variant LM-V500EM of LG V50 which I was under the impression had a wifi calling / vowifi option. I've used the quickshortcut maker app and can see the option is there in the backend of the settings com.android.settings.Settings$Wifi CallingSettingsActivity. I can even open it and toggle it to on but it doesn't appear to do anything and still won't show in the regular call settings.
I've spoken to a number of UK networks who say it should work and spoken to LG directly who say wifi calling is unavailable for this variant/model and only the EE variant has WIFI calling. It's pretty frustrating that a function which the phone clearly is capable of is unusable.
Has anyone got any workarounds for this as I'm tearing my hair out here and don't want to have to sell the phone as apart from this it's great.
Thanks
I've been in engineering mode *#546368#*500# and SVC Menu / VoWIFI / W-Fi Toggle to ON but wifi calling still doesn't appear in the main settings.
Can this be enabled OTA by the right network carrier eg. EE , 3 etc ?
I've got the same phone, same problem.
