compatible Smartwatches/Trackers? - Huawei P40 Pro Questions & Answers

Hey guys,
has anyone tested some Smartwatches with Huawei Devices without Google Services?
I'm aware that Google Wear watches will probably not work at all but i ran into my local tech-store and successfully and without problems connected a Garmin Venu SQ to my P40 Pro. It could also be possible to get Garmin Pay running on those devices i guess.
What about Fitbit and Samsung Smartwatches? The Fitbit App seems to work just fine but i haven't tested it with an actual watch for now...

No problem here with my Garmin Fenix 6x Pro.

I am using Samsung galaxy watch active 2, however with gms installed [emoji1787]

I am also using SMSG watch active 2 - it get disconnects sometimes but no other problems. I also have GMS but this watch is not using it (galaxy store etc.).

I'm using a Fitbit Ionic with Fitbit Pay enabled.
At first I used it with only HMS, but since the Fitbit app uses Google Maps API, it crashed a lot, even while setting up the watch. Disabling GPS temporary fixed it (sometimes).
Notifications were working good, Syncing too, but I had to view my exercises on the www.
Now I'm using GMS, and no problems anymore. And it's a while ago that I used it without GMS, so don't know if Fitbit updated the app to make it work better/worse.

I bought a new fitbit sense a few days ago. So far it works and syncs without problems. Only thing not working is the paid fitbit premium service. It somehow needs GMS for that. The rest is working flawless until now.

Both my Mi Band 5 and Galaxy watch 46mm work quitte good.

So, only on HMS, Garmin Connect works, but -of course- without the Google Maps API?

Endomondo problems

After updating my Gear S3 to Tizen 3.0 I haven´t been able to get my Endomondo app on my watch to save or sync my workouts. I´ve got the latest app versions on both my phone and watch and have tried uninstalling and installing again with no luck. I suppose it has got something to do with the Tizen update as there were no problems before the update.
Anyone got a workaround for this problem?
Same here...and also there was an update few days ago. But it did not solve the issue.
Have you written to endomondo team about it?

Yeah, but no answer yet
This morning I tried Uninstalling and then installing the Endomondo app on both my S7 and Gear S3 and now there are no problems saving my workouts.
Endomondo support wrote to me that there are several users having troubles saving workouts and that they have contacted Samsung about this problem.
I removed Endomondo from my Gear S3 and added it again...it seems to be working now.
I followed your guys, reinstall and it works now !!!.
I've just tried Endomondo on my Gear S3 to record a kayaking activity. It worked, but the battery drained so fast from 98% to 15% for 4 hours. I must stop Endomondo in S3 to save battery, since I still had a few hours in the activity. It could only record half of the trip impractically. Wifi and bluetooth had been switch off previously, and audio alert of the app was disabled. The outdoor screen brightness was forced to 8 by this app in S3 that couldn't be decreased during the activity to save battery power.
I dare not to use this app for my outdoor activity again such as hiking and kayaking, unless there's another workaround to let me use it to record a trip for about 6 to 8.5 hours.

Here WeGo non Samsung phone

So it seems that the Here wego maps/navigation app is not available for the s3 if you aren't using a Samsung phone. (I happen to use an LG v20)
Has anyone found a way to side load the app? Or what is the best alternative maps application for the s3?
Ok I found a way around the issue for anyone watching this thread... It's a little crazy and not for everyone.... I happen to have a Samsung Galaxy S7 as a work phone... I connected my S3 to that phone, where it installed HERE by default.... I then backed up the watch to my samsung account and then reconnected the watch to my LG V20 and restored the backup which included HERE.... Boom.... Problem solved
That's strange.. I got my S3 R-760 back in October 2017 from the UK. Immediately paired to a Sony Z5 and has been like that ever since, even after the ROM updates. One of the first things I did was to install HERE. Can't remember how exactly but it wans't a hassle so I assume straight from the watch or the store. I guess it has been removed after I installed it. Using it now as a standalone, no connection to the phone is required, just direct connection to the internet via wifi or hotspot. Of course I do not have the convenience of using it through the phone which could make it easier to search etc, but it is good enough.
Nice workaround you found, but for those that do not have the option of a Samsung phone, this thread could help: https://forum.xda-developers.com/gear-s3/help/wego-t3724511/page3
Hmm - I downloaded from Google onto my OnePlus 5T, installed on watch from Gear store and that was it.
UK / stock OnePlus 5T

Anyone having galaxy watch with rooted Lite/ solved

and no problems with pairing? I can't pair my watch with 10lite. In the last stage of pairing it remains endless. I tried with newest and older galaxy wear app+watch plugin, but allways the same. On my other phones (Note 3 and Xiaomi) no problems.
Could root or open bootloader be the problem?
Solution found in: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...nd-probably-other-samsung-weareables.3931738/
and in
[GUIDE] Stock FW: rooted, debloated, storage encryption, G-Pay, S-Health, Wearable
(used link2 for getting samsung health to work, perhaps this would also work for gear, but i had paired my watch with link 1 first.)
I have the 46mm version and no problem connecting what so ever. my phone is unrooted though.
I faced a problem when I migrated from my old S8 to the N10L which was that the watch was locked to my Samsung account and that I had to have the same Samsung account that was on the S8 logged in to on the N10L but that was it.
Thanks for your feedback. I also have the 46mm, and i use the same samsung account on all my phones. Also i tried to pair with and without internet-connection with no success. So maybe it has to do with root.
Perhaps i will try again after receiving upgrade to Android 11 before rooting that.
Hello
I have an active watch 2 and a watch 3 and I had no problem pairing them with my Note 10 Lite.
thank you, is your lite rooted?
No, I don't really see the point anymore.

General Problems pairing GW4 Classic with Pixel Pro 6

I've been having problems - the watch (Galaxy Watch 4) and phone (6 Pro) both pair initially just fine. But if I restart my phone, the phone won't reconnect to the watch, and the galaxy wearable app seems to have forgotten the watch. The only way to reconnect them is to reset the watch completely.
A further problem I seem to be having with the phone is that sometimes the "recents" button will just stop working. The only way to get it to work again so far has been to restart the phone. Which then brings me back to my pairing problem with the watch.
It's an annoying situation. Anyone else experience anything like this before?
No, can't say I have...My GW4 has been working fine on my P6P. Sorry I can't be of more help.
Same here. Try reinstalling the galaxy wear app and also the Google wear app from play store.
Has anyone been able to get the battery share function working between 6 pro and GW4?

I'm not sure if it ever will because Samsung decided to use a modified version of Qi wireless charging on the GW4... Seems to work on some from some searching but not all.

Galaxy Watch4 GPS fix on a Poco X3

Bought a Samsung Galaxy Watch4. (poco X3/NFC MIUI Global 12.5.4/Android 11)
Most of the things work fine but there's one issue:
When starting a walk with Samsung healt app on the watch it wants a gps fix from the phone, but it does not get one, and then it pauzes at about 16 seconds.
Before i had a gear S3 watch with the same problem, wich i fixed by autostart the Wear app, samsung healt app, making sure the had the right permissions, locking them in memomry and no battery restrictions.
Now, with connecting the Watch4 a plugin has been installed, i also did the above things. But still no luck, and also it does not work anymore with the old watch. Does anyone has a solutions for this ?
(Except disconnection the watch from the phone and let it use it own internal gps)
