Taking pictures with Instagram/Messenger - Google Pixel 4a Questions & Answers

Hey guys, quick question regarding the image/video quality in 3rd party apps.
As we all know, on most (all?) Android devices, if you take a picture within Instagram for example, it basically just snaps a frame from the viewfinder, so you're better off shooting a pic with the Camera app, then upload that to whatever social media app.
Is that the case also with the Pixel 4a?

Google Nexus 5 Camera & Photo stalibizer issue

Hello
I have a strange behavior when I try to take pictures or record a video either using the google app or third party apps.
After a few secondes the camera makes a small sound and the image moves quickly from the right to the left
It seems like an image stablisation issue.
I have uploaded a small video to youtube to show the result

Do I need to send the phone for a repair?
Thank you

Google Pixel Terrible Grainy Low-Light Video

Hi All,
I've done some web searches and noted that others are in the same boat both with the Pixel and Pixel XL--namely, in low-light, video shot with the stock Camera app is terribly grainy, no matter the settings. Photos shot in the same lighting conditions are OK, whether HDR is on or off. I expect this doesn't affect every Pixel, but I've read it's reported on both the Pixel and Pixel XL. I thought this was supposed to be the highest-rated camera!
Doesn't appear to be a hardware issue since shooting video with 3rd-party camera apps solves the issue, although I haven't found a great one that offers a 16:9 aspect ratio, 4K video AND access to Photo Sphere, Panorama, etc.
Safe Mode does nothing, as it was this way out of the box. Examples below. I bought mine New from eBay, but I saw that folks that had bought directly from Google have seen this issue, and warranty replacements also had it. I contacted Google and their response was to tell me to try safe mode (did it), then contact my seller for a return (lol). Obviously not an option for me, and based on what others have reported, I have no confidence that a replacement would solve the issue.
For reference, here are some videos you can download and see the stark contrast. (Playing them in-browser isn't the best way to view them since the browser may limit you to 360p, etc.)
Camera app (stock Pixel): https://goo.gl/BjVW0v
3rd party app (Z Camera): https://goo.gl/QCih6O
In Safe Mode:

So, my question is, if you have encountered this issue, any fixes? TIA!

[Q] EIS in third party camera app

Hello,
I'm using Background Video Recorder regularly as a secret recording tool and I'm in dilemma for buying the Google Pixel phone as a new smartphone.
I want to know if the Electronic Image Stabilization will work. The question is valid for other camera apps which can record video.
Thanks!
No one knows or willing to try?:crying:
Personally, I'm hesitant to contribute to spying apps. I realize that there are probably legitimate uses but I know of more than a few less savory needs for a camera that records without looking like it is recording. I only hope you represent the former and not the latter. I bring this up only to potentially explain why other folks may have remained silent like I did.
EIS only works in stock camera app. Annoying for me because stock camera app doesnt seem to support external microphones via aux or usb, so I can't use EIS in Cinema FV5 when using a mic.

Bad quality when exporting photos and videos to instagram/historys

Dear friends, one thing is bothering me a lot in op6, when exporting photos taken by the op6 camera to Instagram, especially in the stories, the photos suffer a resize and get poor quality, with defects, videos also suffer a great loss of quality when exported for instagram, other than iphones and samsungs, Iphones 5 get better videos than op6 in instagram stories, do you know how to solve this?

Don't take the photo on the Instagram app. Take the photo or video with OnePlus camera app. After that, open Instagram and tap on the "+" icon from the bottom middle of the screen, choose the photo or the video that you want to share.
My Instagram photos and videos are fine and I don't see anything of what you say. I'm running Oxygen OS Open Beta 3 on my OnePlus 6
Yes I have done this for some time, since 8.1, now with the beta 1 foot, the picture always comes with the deformations and the video with poor quality when exporting to the story, I researched google and the staff already complain a lot of this incompatibility in the oneplus official forum
That's true iam facing this problem. You found any solution?? Please share here

Live photo option for Pixel 3? In dire need!!! Please help! with sound!

Hi,
First off just want to say I am a long time XDA fan from way back to windows mobile and I am in a bit of a crisis state currently. I have always been anti apple and drank the android phone coolaid forever but I am struggling currently because I have a very strong desire for the live photo feature. (Video before and after every picture I take WITH audio) I know the pixels have motion photo and all that but without sound it is so much less. I have found that camera MX supports this but google photos doesn't detect the live photo aspect of the picture to upload it.
Everyone around me thinks I am going crazy causing I am thinking of putting up with all the things I hate about apple just for the live photo feature. The camera is my number one used item on the phone so that is why I would think of switching. I am a Dad of 3 and love these short videos and take way to may pictures.
Is anyone aware of a way to get google photos to detect camera MX's live shots? Or get audio on google motion photos? Or some other app that can do this?
Not sure if this is posted in the right spot so mods please move if needed...
