The problem originated when doing an update which caused a bricked device. After flashing back to the original Android using MSMDownloadTools, ,I did not have an IMEI number, and am receiving NV Backup Warning. I was able to make and receive calls for a few hours. After that, I have not been able to make or receive calls. But I can make and receive SMS messages, and still have LTE data.
I was able to get my IMEI numbers restored, but still am receiving the NV Backup warning and cannot make or receive calls.
Has anyone found a solution to this problem? I will be happy to send a little "Thanks" to whoever can help resolve this issue!

I just finished rooting my system following this guide.
The only problem I am having now is that, I can call people and send messages, but I do not get any incoming calls or message.
When someone tried to call me, it goes to voice mail. and when someone tries to message me, it never arrives.
Can someone please help me?

Guys I was able to discover why did was happening and want to share it with you, incase anyone else experiences this.
The issue was that since I was changing my service from Verizon to Tmobile, and taking my number along with me, the system needed to pass the number from Verzions System to Tmobile system. However, this is not a one phase process, but a multi phase one, and during different phases, your phone will gain different functionality. So, in my example, the first functionality to come through was making out going calls, the second which came a few hours later, was getting incoming calls.
Hello --
I have an emergency situation involving a Galaxy S4 and missing data and I am hoping someone here can help me in the next couple of days. The phone all of a sudden deleted all call logs more than a month old. The phone is a year old and there are no settings in the phone to manually change call log storage. There is plenty of memory and space on the phone. The issue is there are several incoming phone calls which are not showing up on the carrier's phone bill, they only showed up on the phone's call history.
From what I have been told the only way to recover missing call logs is if you have "super user" access and have not factory reset the phone. The phone was never rooted and it was not backing up the call logs to the backup app on the phone. The app only maintains event history, so you can see that a phone call was received at a certain time but there is no phone number.
Its very important that the call logs are recovered due to a legal matter. I am also trying to figure out how to stop the call history from auto deleting and figure out why the phone is doing other strange things. Is there someone on these boards who can either physically help me in person or who legitimately knows a way to retrieve the call logs from the OS? I know it is possible according to the manufacturer but I don't have the tools to do it. (And yes I have been to the carrier, Samsung and multiple cell phone repair shops). I almost need a cyber security expert or something to troubleshoot this.
Thanx
I finally got my OTA lollipop update this week. All seemed fine untill I started getting and making calls and every call showed up as either private or unknown. I rebooted my phone hoping to fix the issue. It did, partially. Incomming calls now show the names or numbers of the caller in the log but outgoing still show either private or unknown. It appears that when the call didn't connect it shows as unknown and when it did, it shows as private. This occurs on either sim 1 or 2. I never had this issue before. Maybe resetting the phone will fix it but I'd rather not have to restore it so I'm asking here first. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hello. I recently experienced where my phone was able to get data via 4G/3G (and of course WiFi) but I could not make or receive calls nor could I make or receive texts. I called Verizon and went through numerous troubleshooting steps as well as conducting internet research. In the end, I was able to rectify the situation by running Root Cleaner's Full Clean.
I just thought I'd share this answer, as my Google fu turned up a number of individuals having this issue but no reported fixes.
Cheers!
My LG G Pro 2 is a Taiwan version and has the latest Lollipop update. Its the stock rom and not rooted. The phone has the issue above where it can't call or receive calls but it can receive text messages and use 4G data. When looking at the sim the phone says Call settings unavalible...
I have tested the sim with the LG G4 and it is fine. Any idea how to fix?
