Hi,
When I put my note 20u on the wireless charger (not from Samsung), it shows fast charging and after couple of seconds it goes back to normal wireless charging. I have tried with 3 different chargers (all can charge at 10w) and cables but the results are same. I am not using any case, but a snake patterned skin (similar to dbrand Black Swarm). Anyone having the same issue or know why it is happening?
Thanks

Since I normally keep up with reading the posts that others have made I can tell you this has already been mentioned and there wasn't any resolution to it as far as I know. I personally always wirelessly charge my phone because I don't want to mess the battery up constantly using super fast charging the difference is that I have Samsung's actual wireless charger for the Note 20 Ultra so I actually don't have that problem at all and I'm thinking it might have something to do with 3rd party chargers.. I don't know if there's been any resolution to it since the last time I saw it so if you search for the thread post you should see what has been said so far.

Hi Guys,
First of all, my new smart phone Samsung Galaxy Note3 (only 3 weeks old) has not been rooted yet. To be honest, I am not sure if I will do so in the very near future since I am still very happy with the way it works at the moment.
Nevertheless, I come to you with a cry for help, since I know from my very own experience in the past, that your forum is "the place to be" for technical issues and you guys are always here, willing and mostly able, to help a desperate forum member.
I recently installed TomTom on my smart phone and I noticed that, as soon as I am on the highway doing more than 80 kilometers per hour, that at the down site of my screen it shows a continuously horizontal striping and/or flickering (smaller and broader striping); and it makes no difference wether my screen is positioned horizontal or vertical, in my car holder. This striping and/or flickering keeps going on until I lower my speed again for driving in town (50 kilometers per hour). I also noticed that sometimes the highway exits stay visible in my screen while I long passed it. It looks like it is "lagging", although, through out the ride, the "position arrow" shows exactly and correctly where I am...
To make sure wether it was only a problem with the TomTom Navigation or not, I also installed Sygic Navigation. With Sygic, there is no flickering or striping showing on my screen when driving on the highway, but in here there is the problem that EVERY highway exit stays visible in my screen while I long passed it. However, both of these navigation programs worked flawless on my former smart phone, the Galaxy Note 1 (Android 4.2.1 - JellyBean).
Are you familiar with this issue? Could it be the new Android version 4.4.2 (KitKat) that might be causing the problem or could it be a (GPS ?) setting in my phone that needs to be altered or checked?
I seriously hope that you can help me out here.
Thanking you in advance.
Kind regards.
Robert,
Netherlands.
Hi!
I've read there's an issue with TomTom on the Note 3 and KitKat. Something about not being able to download the make to your phone. That could be why you have lag and screen rendering issues.
You are welcome to ask in your devices section for Q&A... Perhaps someone figured out a fix!

Good luck! ?

That issue is from February tho....it may not apply now.
Thank you! I'll look into that and let you know...
Hi Guys,
I'm facing this issue where my touch is automatically working. The touch automatically open an app and doesn't allow the user to type anything.
See the attached video. Seems like others are also having the same issue as I found this thread but since no one came out with a solution, I'm creating a new thread.
Let's find out a solution to this problem as a lot of people are facing the same issue in particularly to micromax phones. Also don't suggest solutions like going to the service center as they have worst of the service. They had my phone for 3 months and ****ed it up pretty badly

Use another charger and check
My phone just seems... Off. Anyone else noticing an inaccurate touch screen, charging or not? Typing has gotten horrible, keyboard doesn't matter, reboot doesn't help. Really starting to drive me nuts.

Do you have a screen protector on it? Or are you charging and using the phone at the same time?
No screen protector and charging or not doesn't matter.

That used to happen now and then on my old note 4. But it was due to my phone processing something. Try rebooting or clearing cache
i tend to see some inaccurate typing when i type fast. i used to blame the devices, my Nexus 6, the Note 7 also did this, and now the v20. I am beginning to think it may be "FAT Fingers" and trying to type way to fast, for me anyway. with the trouble you had with text messaging, perhaps you got a lemon and need to get it replaced.
Is there a touch test in service menu?

Not the Screen tester needed...
The app you listed doesn't do anything for telling you what's going on with your screen. It only registers a touch, swipe or writing on the screen...
TouchScreen Repair (Play Store/ NOOB, I can't post links) "claims" to help with response time, but after rebooting I still have issues with the 2nd screen registering as a long press and going into settings mode with the Wi-Fi quick tapped...
Running VZW (VS995) Software version VS99513A ("13A") and had the same issue with my first V20 running ("11A" and "12A").
2nd V20 has displayed the same symptoms with all (3) software updates 11A,12A, & 13A...

Agree that this might be common, but do think that the V20 screen is over sensitive and have never had any of the Note 3, 7 or for that matter S3 have this issue. Yes you'll get a typo, but not go crazy spending longer than necessary fixing them... Also the only time the V20 is 100% accurate is when you swipe REALLY slow... The whole idea of swiping is to text fast and not be handicapped...
I scored an HTC One A9 about a month ago, a big improvement over my S5. I finally got around to getting a couple of Quick Charge 3.0 adapters (one for the house, one for the car). After testing both of them, it wasn't Quick at all, about 3% in 4 minutes, I'm 99% sure it's the phone, although I haven't tested the chargers with any other device. It's an AT&T model, if that helps.

Maybe it's the quick chargers you have, I use one of the Samsung quick chargers from my old broken s6 and it certainly does quick charge

Edit: actually if you are on the stock AT&T ROM, 1.27, I don't believe it supports quick charge, I'm running CyanogenMod, and it does support it. My bad I had forgot that.

Oh, hmm, idk then, I have quick charge and it works great, maybe it is the phone, maybe it's the quick charger plug, I'm not so sure on this one... Sorry

Also, since Samsung makes their own CPUs, they have their own "fast charge" technology while the a9 has "qualicom" quick charger technology, I would definitely go for a qualicom technology branded one

I think so, I'm not sure, but as far as I know 1.27 didn't support it, and only on CyanogenMod has it shown up as "rapid charging" when I plug it in
2.0 is supported in lower builds i think..3.0 is in later builds...
Hello everyone,
I hope this was the correct place to post this; if not, please feel free to move it.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S8+ (SM-G955W) which worked perfectly fine one day, then the next the screen no longer shows any display at all. The strange thing is: the phone still functions properly. It still rings when I receive a call and still vibrates when it receives messages, however the screen itself remains black and does not respond to any touch at all. According to the internet, this is often known as the "Black Screen of death".
Troubleshooting attempted:
- I have performed a soft reset multiple times by pressing and holding the Power + Volume Down buttons which forces a restart. The phone does indeed restart - I can feel the start up vibration and the blue LED light does remain on while it powers on. I then feel all my messages arriving to the phone however at no point do I see an image.
-I have let the battery die completely, then charged it back up to 100%. Unfortunately, after powering on the phone once more, there is still no display.
-I have taken the phone to a local technician who informed me that the screen is not broken and the back lighting appears to have no issues. He believes it may be a deeper issue with the phone.
*I should also mention that the phone has no physical damage to it - it hasn't been dropped, no water damage, etc.
At the very least, I would like to unlock the phone to plug it into my PC and back up my photos, documents, etc. Unfortunately, as the phone died and was powered on fresh, I cannot unlock the phone via my voice or fingerprint as the first unlock Android insists must be the pin. I attempted Google's Find my Phone but it only allows for a remote factory reset. I tried Samsung's Find my Phone which allows remote unlock however it apparently needs to be enabled on the phone settings before it can be used (Who'd have known that before encountering the need to do this...).
I am unsure what to do. Can the phone be repaired? Can I at the very least unlock it without using the screen to reach it's storage and backup my files? Please help
Was the phone dropped in any way? Sounds like the LCD is not displaying and the digitizer isn't registering your touch. Take a decent flashlight and shine it onto the screen and look for minor cracks. If cracked in any way I would look into replacing the screen assembly

Thanks for the reply! I'll take a flashlight when I get home from work today to take a look. Assuming there may be a crack somewhere, do you know of any way to unlock it and access the mass storage to collect my pictures/documents?
Edit: Even if there's a third party software that can do this? I'm willing to pay if necessary. I've tried "Dr. Fone" but the software is outdated and does not support the S8+ model. I should add I don't believe USB Debugging Option is on
If USB debugging was enabled you could use ADB to potentially recover the files. Pressuming you're already connected the Android to the devive it'll have autborized the RSA key.
You could also use an OTG cable to plug in a mouse, but since you cannot see the display at all, that won't be very helpful.
I found this software with a quick Google search. Haven't used it myself.

Thank you again for your assistance - I will download that program tonight and let you know how it goes. Also - do you think an OTG cable with both an HDMI port and a USB port would work? I'm hoping that I could use the HDMI port to view the screen on a monitor and hopefully use the mouse to unlock the phone that way. I've tried a USB-C to VGA cable but that doesn't seem to show anything on the monitor. I'm not sure if that's because the lock screen remains locked...not sure. I will keep you updated.

Hmm...looks like that guide requires USB Debugging to be enabled which, unfortunately, I do not believe it is. I also have stock firmware so no custom recovery installed either. Due to the snapdragon chip, I wasn't able to root my phone so I couldn't do all that (at the time)

Also - that adapter is right here: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07QXW8KYW/ref=pe_3034960_236394800_TE_dp_i1
I've already ordered it hoping it can do something...but the USB-C - VGA didnt work so I'm not feeling too optimistic about that.
Now that is nifty!!
Let me know if that works out. The amazon listing states that it works for S8/S8+ and the seller is being responsive to the reviewers and offering support. Only 64 reviews in total on the product but it seems promising. Fingers crossed for you ?

Thank you so much for all your help - I received the above linked adapter and attempted it but unfortunately it did not work. We tested it with another Samsung Galaxy S8 device and it worked perfectly. This leads me to believe it isn't just my screen that is not working...perhaps the issue is a bit deeper than that. But the adapter itself worked great!
I installed the software you linked however it was just the Dr. Fone application which I mentioned in my opening post that it did not support the S8 or S8+ model. It only have the option to Factory Reset my phone which unfortunately defeats the purpose. I'm unsure if I have any options left...I've researched for hours. Any final thoughts or ideas would be appreciated
Thanks again for your assistance so far, you're the only one who's attempted to help.
