I switched from the beta version of Google to the stable, and now the updated assistant is gone. Any help?
perhaps it's a beta-only feature not (yet) available in the release version. If you switch back to the beta version does it reappear? What exactly is the updated assistant?

I had a few questions about APK's and Beta Testing. I tried searching through google itself but i wasn't getting any luck, so I decided to bring it to the forum. Any ideas/thoughts/experience would be cool.
APK:
If I download an APK off the internet unofficially and not through the play store, will I still get an update when the official version is released? If not, what are some suggestions?
Beta Testing:
Very similar to my other question, after becoming a "beta tester" for certain apps, in this case nova launcher prime, will I still get an update when the official version comes out? Will I have to stop being a beta tester in order to download the stable most recent version?
The first question sounds a lot like a discussion on software pay.
The second would depend on the app developer, but normally you would have to uninstall the beta version.

So.. besides checking websites and such, there would be no way to be asked to update to the "published and official" version of the app?

Yep, only the google play store provides this functionality.
Now if your wrote an app to do this by checking version numbers and using a url that contains the apk and whenever it is updated would be sweet!
I flashed the 5.1.1 Factory Image for my Nexus 5 (Left it completely stock) and I noticed that the "On Body Detection" is missing from the Smart lock features. Can anyone else confirm this? I am assuming that it is a server side switch that needs to be activated, but I can't be completely sure about that.
EDIT: Issue has been fixed. I updated my Google Play Services to 7.5.66

For me it is there. I upgraded from 5.1.0 to 5.1.1 by ota. Check your Google play services app's version it shows 7.3.29 for me. Try to update to the same version.

Thanks for the reply. My Google Play Services is version 7.3.29 (1866531-438). Yet the feature is missing. I have contacted Google about it

I'm attempting to find and sign up for every beta available to my installed apps. Google Play allows me to find most betas for apps from that store by scrolling down, but many apps have betas controlled by Google Plus. To this end, I'd like some sort of automatated method of finding every available beta for every one of my apps.
I'm using a Pixel 2 on the March update for 8.1. Google Play is the latest version as well.
As I am using substratum, beta version of Google app will not be themed. And somehow the System app became beta version and I could not install non beta version. so I removed the Google app from the system and installed the normal version from the Google Play Store later on.
After that the Google assistant stop working on the wake word. Google Assistant works with the home button also. I tried each and every settings so that it can work by wakeword but it didn't work. Even when assistant is open - I cannot trigger assistant to listen to me, that means in-app triggering is also not working for me.
What should I do further?
Is there a pixel user who can kindly share with me the APK of the latest version of Google keyboard which has the latest improvements in voice typing? This version is currently available for the pixel phones but I would like to try it on my honor view 10 phone. This can be done by an app called "App backup and restore". Here is the link to what I'm talking about.

I'm in the beta program and I have the same version that's available on Apkmirror gboard beta version 8.0.8 238291163 arm64

I verified that Offline voice works on my pixel. Fyi though Google has many ways to verify your phone is a pixel or not so Good luck!
