The paint on the kickstand is chipping away, but that's not really a big deal but now the back of the speaker is lifting up. The only thing I am afraid of is if they send me another phone it more then likely will be a refurbish unit and on top of that the phone that I have now don't really have any reboot problems. My XDA fellows what should I do?
Oh yea I know somebody going say I dropped my phone and etc, that's not the case I notice the build quality on this phone is not very good
I'd be leary given the rebooting issues, but to be honest I have faith in refurbs. Never treated me wrong.

That's what I am scared about. Honestly I get maybe two reboots every week and a half.
Hang onto it for a little while. Might be fine.

I was thinking about putting a little bit of crazy glue to hold down the speaker
VERY little. I assume you're just talking about the little plastic grate over it, in which case a little dab'll do ya just fine. Careful with that.
Keep in mind I don't own a TBolt yet, but I've been around the block with gadgets and gizmos.

I don't understand what you guys do to do that? Had mine since day one and no chip or anything in that matter. No case maybe? Just wanna understand so I can avoid it . Im very picking when it comes to cosmetic .

Handle my phone very carefully....I notice the paint coming off the same day I purchased it. Never dropped my phone.
I came from the hd2 and imo it has way better build quality then this phone
I would just put a tiny dap of super glue if you go that route, also i have had good luck with refurbs over the years but i know several people that have not been so lucky unfortenetly.
Also if the kick stand is pealing hit it with a little sand paper and polish looks way better that way. Saw a post some one made in the general forum and it looked really nice so did it myself as well.
DO NOT USE SUPER GLUE!
My plastic speaker grill on my Bolt started to come up so I put some super glue on it thinking it'd stick it back down. WRONG! The glue started to come up through the small holes in the speaker grill and now it's very rough to the touch and I cannot remove it.
Also, the paint on my kickstand is also peeling, but that's not a problem. All you need to do is sand the paint of with a Scotchbrite Pad and then polish it. It looks better than new.

reason why I dont want to go the reboot route is because I am real scared to get a unit that's going reboot every sec. So far I am really not having much problems with this unit when it comes to rebooting. The speaker thing is really bothering me..its like when you a little kid and you keep on picking at your cut

I say that if you have not voided your warranty send it back. This is what a warranty is for.
If you get a phone that reboots all the time keep sending them back as well untill you get a working Thunderbolt. Enough people send the phone back for "real" warranty issues and maybe HTC will improve their build quality.
Sorry but just like dadsterflip said I'm very picking when it comes to cosmetic as well and what your describing would drive me nuts or I would just end up hating the phone.
I returned my first Thunderbolt because of the light leak at the bottom of the screen and made them open 4 brand new Thunderbolts to find one that did not have the same issue.

Yeah, that's what some dude on twitter told me he used to sand down his kickstand lol... I actually tried it a few hours after that post and it didn't work to well... maybe I was doing it wrong, though lol.
Got my refurbished phone yesterday and it rebooted five times today...I am sending it back and keeping this phone wit the broken speaker grill...I'm not getting another unit until they release the new update at the end of the month...couldn't hang up phone calls...couldn't put the phone on airplane mode....really disappointed with HTC and this phone...I can't wait till a better phone comes out
The coating on my kickstand started peeling like two days after I bought the phone. I've been peeling it off ever since. Definitely not a misuse scenario, just a poor coating. Doesn't really bother me since it'll all be gone soon anyways. I'd be a little pissed if the speaker grille started coming off though.
spoke to about three representatives and they said an updated is coming at the end of the month.....The speaker grill is really bothering me tho but I can't take swapping out refurbish phones just find a working unit...hopefully the new update fixes this issue
I heard the update is being released 6-15-11...

I think I would fill it with tissue paper before putting the phone in it.
Weight it down good and leave it under 1' of water for a few hours, then check the tissue to see if it's still dry or not.
Goods idea, here are some crappy pics of the case

What he said.
Well I did an overnight water test and it was successful with no water intrusion.
I have used the case for about a day so far.
My initial impressions are that it is much bigger than my previous case (slim armor view). The material is a hard plastic. The screen is glass and there are not perceivable distortions. Once snapped together it is hard to open again, which I guess you would want in a water tight case.
The touch screen is responsive with only a little difference in accessing the pull down menu. I haven't taken an actual call without Bluetooth, so I can't report on how it sounds to callers. I was able to hear my voicemail fine. I did leave myself a test message without a headset and the recorded sound was pretty muffled.
Biggest issue for me is the home button is really hard to press. I end up using my finger nail to get enough leverage. Maybe that will loosen over time.
Don't have qi charging, but am thinking about getting a receiver and seeing if it will work. It is not very convenient to use the USB cable
Not bad for 25; looks to have good protection for drops and ingress. Wouldn't pay more than I did shipped.
And because I'm a clown.....

Nor Facebook or twitter.
I would like to give an update after using the case for over a week plus.
The touch screen has become more difficult to use over time. Especially when trying to enter text.
The door that covers the charging port seems to be getting looser over time: I am not sure how much I would trust this under water if it gets any looser.
The headphone port is so solid, I think it would actually break if I opened it.
about pepkoo casing
I've using my pepkoo casing around 2 weeks.
Everything's in good condition and I could hear any caller's voice very well.
Sadly, there's a problem when I tried to make for call out to friends.
It seemed they can't hear my voice clearly.
For some other reason, it has an echo sound of my own voice.
What's happening here?
May be because the type of waterproof casing?
Does anyone has any opinion on this issues?
Thanks so much.

Same issue with me but since i'm gonna claim warranty due to the headphone port break, i'm gonna ask that as well and see if they know about it....btw, have you tried "Adapt Sound" function in S4? Does it help?
I'm wondering how can you use headfone under water ? lol
I am wondering if your ever encountered such case.
Basically, I am thinking on a case that allows a faster cool-down of the phone....

Probably the closest you'll get to such a thing would be to get a metal back cover replacement to conduct the heat away better than the plastic one does.

Did you hear that "Roberto Duran" is getting his own movie. It comes out next year and stars Robert DeNiro and Usher. "'Hands of Stone" " is the title I think.

I'd not heard about it until you mentioned it, but it looks like it will be a great movie. Oddly enough, my wife knew about it when I asked her.
I bought a Note 3 not so long ago quite cheap because of the fact that the phone had been dropped a few times and the bezel being plastic took a lot of the damage ( Pics below )
The screen was still almost perfect apart from one small scratch on the bottom left but that will be semi hidden when i receive a glass screen protector in the post.
Any way the bezel really bothered me as I always keep my phone in as perfect condition when I own them so it really frustrated me to see how someone could treat a phone like they had, As the chrome had gone through to the white plastic underneath in a few places I decided to use my little friend ( Sandpaper and create a white bezel ) But instead I got something in between the 2 of having chrome still and white in the bezel.
Its very hard to explain so just look for yourself
Although I couldn't mask the dent on the top right completely it is now improved massively.
Your feedback would be greatly desired.
I think you've done a good job there. Probably an irrelevant thought now but could you have bought a non functioning phone off the bay and used it as a donor for yours?

Little tip for people who are afraid of the silver on the bezel eroding: Clear nailpolish. It's a trick us women do with those cheap fake silver rings, if you put clear nailpolish over it, it erodes a lot less.

OHH ill have to give that one a go, im sure my sister will understand its for a good cause. The glass screen protector came today and has been installed and has completely covered up all of the small surface scratches apart from the deep one but even that doesn't look as bad anymore.

I cut up 400 grit sandpaper into small squares about the size of my finger. and run it it over the entire bezel at first and it didnt seem to touch the middle section so im not sure how lol. i then folded it when going around the home and volume button to ensure I got all of it. Put something over the display to stop it scratching of course
Might be tempted to see what the bezel looks like all white?
Wow! Awesome excellent job! Well done! Impressive!

Been using the case ~2 wks, there's no issue with the fingerprint sensor. They recommend case first, then adding your prints; but not needed! Very minimal design & good protection.
I get that you want to pimp your Youtube channel a bit, but honestly the review was terrible. Bad mic, video out of focus. At the very least, if you cant get the video to focus properly, insert some pictures you took that are sharper instead of seeing a blurry mess.

how does the surface feel in comparison to the original frame?
I.e. how slick is it. That is my biggest issue with the phone, it wants to slide out of my hands.
I got the Spigen Thin Fit Case, and this was actually worse since the back and sides are all super smooth. Very nice looking, but not functional for me.
Thanks.

I have it. It to me, has a nice "grippy" texture. The FP sensor works for me as well. Case is a nice fit. Well worth the few $. It is however a magnet for FP on the back, if that bothers you.

Don't be butthurt, it's valid criticism - focusing a camera is such a BASIC thing, and we all want to see the case. Instead, make better videos.
Scanner didn't work for me on this case
Thanks for sharing, but next time be sure to review the video before uploading, and also re-record if you have issues like you did in this video. It's horribly out of focus, audio quality is sub-par, and the phone looks nasty. If you really want to grow as a reviewer, be sure to have clear, HD video, good audio, and wash your hands, and clean the phone of any fingerprints / greasy marks before recording. Just some helpful pointers. People watch video reviews to see the case up close, and in action, and when the video is poor, we can't really even see the case.
The video was fine, thanks for posting it. What a bunch of ungrateful oafs in here.
I'm pretty disappointed about the lack of port covers. I've had this case for my last 3 phones and didn't even think to look closely at the product description or reviews before I ordered it. The Ringke has always been one of the few compact cases with covers which are a necessity for me, so I guess i'll be sending it back for something else. It's a great case aside from that omission.
Picked up my V10 yesterday, my Ringke Fusion (smoked) case arrived today. I held off entering any fingerprint scans until after I put the case on, and.............no problems with the scanner. Works 90% of the time on the first try. Don't know if it makes any difference, but I'm on Verizon.

I have the clear Ringke Fusion case. And while the FP sensor works better than with for example, the Incipio case, it is still not as good as "caseless."
The real question is when will LG have a fix. Quite frankly, the situation is ridiculous and is not indicative of the phone's overall quality.
