Was considering the LG Velvet 5G but was just wondering if anyone has used gcam on it yet?
In the gcam hub useful links I can see the other LG phones like V60 but no Velvet.
Thanks in advance!
I have, It's not built just for the Velvet but it is built to work with ultra-wide cameras. The video should definitely be taken on the default camera app, normal photos you should use GCAM for. Photos at night come out horrible from GCAM, and okay if not bad from the normal camera app. Other people's experience may vary though if they found a better build
TLDR (?) Hey there. New to this thread but plenty of experience with Gcam variants and LG phones. I also happen to be a photographer! Anyways, don't expect magic out of the Velvet.... and it looks like support for this specific variant will be slow-but-steady. All things aside, I'm using the "GreatnessCam 2.1.1" found celsoazevedo's Gcam hub which is great once tweaked. The main camera's aperture means pretty damn decent low-light photography, especially when HDR+ is enabled. The ultra-wide angle's aperture is less narrow and the ISO sensitivity over-compensates which translates into terrible low-light photography in almost any setting. Of note, that Greatness variant will crash when ultra-wide angle is enabled in video mode, and Night Site isn't fully functional. Yet. I hope this helped a little, and if you (or anyone else) is curious about something more specific, please ask away.
What version of GCam is working for you guys? I have tried a few but with no luck. (GreatnessCam 2.1.1 is not working for me, lags alot)
I am using this version (GCam_7.3.018_Urnyx05-v2.5.apk) without problems:

Same phone here, and I've tried maybe a dozen different gcams. All laggy and not usable (?)
After many downloads I got one that seem to work properly, though not my favorite.
I'll attach a picture of it's version.
Has anyone had success with a better camera app for the Velvet 5G? I see theres a bunch of modded gCam configs for a lot of the LG G series phones that improve them, not seeing anything really for the Velvet yet.
@KITPUNK
up there I posted a link. That version works fine with my lg velvet 5g

Ok cool, stable enough? Do you find the quality is better than the stock app?
Hi guys please any gcam for the 4g version? Tried so many , but all lag...
I found one is not perfect, but is better then nothing.
Here my config
Updated xml
I liked the quality of the photo on Butchercam_v2.1 but it closes on my tmobile.
Works fine on MGC_8.1.101, but I don't like the quality.

Can any one port the GCAM mod for OP6. I used to get better images in my OP3 with Gcam mod. Even the photos of Oos camera in OP6 is not that good as that of Gcam pics of my OP3. I installed the Gcam mod by @SKULSHADY in OP6 but it wont post process the images and crashes are also high. Someone please help...
I don't think any of the devs has the OP6 yet, so there is nobody currently to work on a possible fix.
What is needed for a start are LOGS! No logs, no progress. That's how the community got the OP3/T to perform great with the Gcam Mod.
Nothing we can do but test, provide logs, tag the devs and wait.
I also found this statement on Reddit:
One of the developers (damit sind die Mod Devs gemeint) said that the HAL has been moved to the processor level for the 845 and hence there's no way that GCAM can work properly without root. It's not completely concrete yet but from what he said there's likely no possible way to get it working. It currently doesn't work on any snapdragon 845 devices except the S9 and even then it's extremely buggy and worse than stock

@ashwin murali
As you already have the OP6, could you please do some comparison shots with the OP3 (stock and with Gcam) in full resolution and quality? (for example on Google Photos)
I'm really curious how they compare. I already preordered the OP6 on Amazon but canceled it as soon as I heard about Gcam issues.
I don't mind to root the device if I can use GCam on Oneplus 6
I can confirm, any version I used so far of the gcam gives the same quality like the stock camera. No comparison required. The pictures are not really clear, lack details and have this kind of oil picture effect. sadly.
How to provide logs? Which version should I use to provide those? I'd be happy to support if possible without rooting my device (using it for corporate purposes so no root for me)
I'll root anyways so it wouldn't be a problem for me
what should i do after root?

Nothing we can do at this moment.
We have to wait until new GCam app that is developed for Snapdragon 845 phones
https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/f/defcomg-fix_OP6_MGC_FINAL_3.4A_WIDE.apk
https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/...efcomg-fix_OP6v0.3_MGC_5.1.018_FINAL_3.4A.apk
For those who were unsuccessful in trying those GCam by cstark, at https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/dev-cstark27/ , the above 2 links, you have to install both of seperately, It's worth using the stunning LG G7 camera! We should thank the developer for working for the OP6 being working on the LG G7. My settings in both cameras were.
1) Pixels auto HDR+ enabled.
2)Final JPG quality HDR+ 100%.
The issue I got was if changed to HDR+ Auto, it becomes unusable. So keep HDR+ On always. If you have better settings, share them below. .
Both wide and normal results in stunning images. Definitely better than Stock Camera. I hope the future updates will improve our beasts. Enjoy.
Portrait is broken in both I think.
I can't get slowmotion recording to work. Either app just closes.

because too many of these GCams do not work with the LG G7, now I found a new apk with both modes working as included in single apk.
https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/f/cstark27_GCam_5.1.018_24_v4.2t2.apk
Wow thanks! What are the recommended advanced settings?
In case you're like me and glanced over the OP, it will not work until you change HDR to always on instead of auto - as mentioned by the OP. I'm going to check it out. I've been disappointed with the low light photo quality on the stock camera. Hoping this helps!

Hi. Does gcam have the same shutter lag as original camera app?
If it does, so how to fix that? Any tips is appreciated.
Sorry if it is not right place to ask. I am just frustrated and do not find any solution for that.
Thanks!

Good morning, very very long time xda luker here, years in fact, so thought I would jump in and join this topic.
Obviously like most of us I've loved using the gcam port on my SM-A530F and now after the 9.0 update I had to go back to the stock samsung camera. So did a bit a of looking around and found this.
MGC_6.1.021_BSG_Arnova_TlnNeun_1.2_test_fix_Exynos.apk
It works. Well I say works, it's extremely buggy, so maybe someone here with a little more knowledge than me can have a play around with it and hopefully (fingers crossed) get it usable.
I'm getting hard restarts when you take a second photo while hdr is processing and in low light conditions it will sometimes crash.
From what I've seen, though I could be wrong and my settings need a tweak but you can't use flash, you can't use front facing camera, and you can't enable motion photo.
Also sometimes when processing hdr it will freeze and you will have to force close and start again.
I'm only after a decent hdr+ back camera, I don't realy care that the front isn't working as to be honest the stock a8 camera is fine for a selfie etc.
Thanks guys, I hope this has helped a little or it might not help at all, but I thought I would share this as it's a version of gcam that doesn't crash on startup and does take photo's we'll sometimes it takes photos. ??

My friend, i found a gcam that works. It can take photos, but after every shot you need to change to video and back. Its zoran gcam. The thing is, the zgcam its just for donators. Look for the telegram group [Galaxy] Official Google Camera and ask for Egoist. He will explain you how to get into the zoran group.

Rear portrait works. Playground needs AR core. To be honest I don't think playground is something I wanna test, seems like a silly thing to me. Motion don't works.

The version I mentioned above does the same, you have to go to settings then back to photo before you can take another shot and also wait for hdr processing to finish.

Did you use any particular settings or xml file.?
I'm using the same gcam, just searching for best settings
Long story short, I was messing around with a couple GCam by different developers and one by Burial that works amazing well for the S9+. I'm using the Sprint variant, so Snapdragon model.
I install the app like you would using any other app. When you first enter the GCam dont touch the different lens that appear, I think they're .06x, 1x and 2x. (These are aux lenses, dont enable them in the advanced settings either. )Changing those will cause the app to crash and you'll have to clear the app's data to get it working again. Soon enough those lenses will go away and you dont have to worry about accidentally hitting, at least that happened with me.
Mess around with the configs or upload your own. Keep in mind this version wasnt intended for the S9+, so there might be settings not meant for this device. Bugs may also exist, but I've yet to find any.

Kinda hard for me to find a working for the Exynos, since I have a Snapdragon model. I did a quick google search and IDan has some working ones but they dont have night mode. You can always do what I did and research, try a couple apks until you find one that you like. There are existing threads for Exynos S9+ Gcams as well.

Me personally I like using Hyper NEX, a modded Gcam variant
It makes reds and greens really pop out IMO (check out the attached photos)
It does struggle with selfies (automatically) as it makes them to dark
Technically you can edit them and add brightness and color back, but I just use another GCam variant for selfies lol
Snapdragon is so great in this regard, there are a lot of Gcam variant and mods
In my opinion, I say try them all out. You'll be pleasantly surprised and you'll find a style that takes them how you want them

When all set up, with or without the XML, I can't use the full screen option, only 4.3. It crashes when I switch to full wide. This happens in Urnyx05's port 7.3.018 2.2, 2.4, also. Is there something I'm missing? Or is it a bug? previous versions worked fine in wide screen.
