Storage speed. - Xiaomi Poco F2 Pro (Redmi K30 Pro) Questions & Ans

Hi, what is difference of storage speeds between 128gb and 256gb model?
How big difference is between ufs2.1 and 3.1 on POCO? ?

This the same ufs 3.1 on each variant.
The difference is on ram, lpddr4x on 6/128 and lpddr5x on 8/256 variant.

K30 pro has ufs3.0 option

Ok thanks, great news.
Can you really see the difference od LPDDR5?

Here are my AndroBench results on 8/256 DDR5. Perhaps someone with 6/128 DDR4 can post theirs to compare?

Interesting! Not a lot in it, apart from your SQLite results are a lot better, which doesn't make any sense.

I m pretty shocked
Because first time i wanted to buy the 8gb version and the difference is about 100 euro...

OK, I've rebooted and run the test again. The SQLite results are much closer now. But yes no real difference. There is an advantage with more ram (more apps in memory) and more storage as there's no SD slot, but performance-wise they're almost the same.

Strange, more efficient on some and less good elsewhere, in any case it shows that we should not regret having taken the cheaper model !

Maybe this is not only about Ram capacity, but also about Ram management by the Kernel - firmware. I think Miui Ram management can be better.

Storages are basically the same models, but is there real difference in the RAMs? Can we test both of them in some app. ?

How much ram? Exynos vs Snapdragon.

Hi,
I know that s7 with exynos shows ~3.5 GB RAM(all). Disk info, cpu-z, aida etc.
What about s7 with snapdragon(g930)?
Can anybody show screenshots from these apks?
Thanks.

I'm not sure why you need a screenshot.
Both devices have 4GB of hardware RAM.
RAM available at runtime will be dependent entirely on the user, carrier bloat, and ROM (stock / custom)

In official specs only.
I'm not asking for free/used, asking for all ram.
Check yourself - disk info - google play store.
4Giga=4*10^9; 4*10^9:1024=3906,250MB but 4GB=4098MB.
Screen from s7 with exynos(3,562GB):
Around 500MB is reserved for the System AFAIK so that is why there might be less than 4GB in that program.

Difference between 34 and 64GB versions?

Hey all, was considering upgrading to S7 flat. Was wondering if there was any difference in compatibility of ROMs etc. between 32 and 64 GB versions?
Australian, so most likely going to be 930F.

Actually is not really 32gb, is much less than that, but gladly we can use microsd to expand the memory as much as 200gb

24gb to be exact, once you start adding vr stuff the space quickly disappears, plus you can't move vr stuff to the sdcard which sucks.
You can always emulate the sdcard to work as the phone internal storage.

Regarding the VR, that shouldn't even be allowed as it completely trash our eyes and also affects our brain, causing headaches etc. It's nice to try out, not to use regularly.

Guess I have no choice (although I was probably going to get the 32 anyways). And now I know that all 930F will be supported. Thanks for clearing this up!
I dont think 64 is better then a 32 because wit hthe nougat update you can push all apps to the sd card so get the 32gb and a fast sd card and you good to go.

Huawei honor 8 RAM

Every honor 8 reviews says that HONOR 8 has ,4GB dedicated ram.
I've installed like four programms that shows up, i have only 3GB RAM.
On some ASUS (My friends phone) He has 4gb rams and in these programms it shows 4gb for him.
What could be that problem? What should i do to fix that RAM?
Thanks!
No every review don't state every Honor 8 has 4GB of ram. The standard ram is 4GB and 3GB is on selected models..
Edit...typo
There is a model with 3 gigs of RAM which is like 30 to 50 bucks cheaper. I have seen it only as gold color.

System shows 2,3gb of ram free.
But cpu-z shows 1,3gb of ram free.
So, some games start lagging really hard and screen brightness gets lowered by itself.

12GB RAM ???

For my usage even 6GB ram in my S9+ is enough, so the 8GB version of OP7 Pro should be more than enough. The question is: is 12GB RAM going to be FASTER than the 8GB in any way when only using ONE app\benchmark\game at a time?? Cus I want the FASTEST.
As far as I know about how PCs work, more Ram only helps if you are using it... but then why did OP ''leak'' the cpu benchmark from the 12GB variant? https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/05/...isting-confirms-12-gb-ram-and-snapdragon-855/

You already know the answer.
By the time you need 12 gigs- you will probably become some 3 years older from now -- when a different SoC, GPU and the OS would actually want to make use of it on extremely intensive tasks.

Perhaps - but if you get 2-3 Andiiod upgrades and you pass your phone on to kids, grandma or someone who's less of a power user, having a phone that works can be better than buying them a new one.
Or if things keep going the way they're going, you keep the phone yourself because there's no significant upgrade that merits buying a whole new phone as long as the current one still works fine.

In both cases I doubt how much of a role the 12 gigs would play(highly doubtful) at all in comparison to 8 gigs, as that "additional" 4 gigs will have little to do with the system but a newer redesigned SoC definitely WILL - which will be absent.
I mean just adding some "Access gigs Of RAM " will not make the phone futureproof.
How many nand chips make up the 8Gb and the 12 GB?
If there are more chips in the 12gb version then it will eat more battery.
Just ordered the blue 12 G version ?
Unfortunate that 12GB is only available in blue.
Im about to order the 12GB version just for bragging rights. Does the 12GB actually make a difference to the performance? Unlikely if say. I have a 6T Mclaren and the 10GB makes zero difference over the ordinary 6T but with the Snapdragon maybe the extra ram is utilised who knows. Anyway Im hesitant as I don't want what Happened to the 6 to happen again a special edition Red color soon after. That really makes me angry. I was lucky to get the McLaren when I did. Don't want to spend over €800 and see that happening all over again.

Is 6GB of RAM enough for 4K video editing on MIUI?

Hi guys,
I sold my Zenfone 6 (6GB of RAM) and want to buy Poco F2 Pro. Is 6GB of RAM enough for MIUI?
Zenfone 6 was ok with 6GB of ram but their ROM is much more closer to stock Android.
I could buy version with 8GB of RAM for 55 euros extra. What do you think?
Thank you very much!

Thank you. Yes I Had Zenfone 6 for 8 months, before that I had XZ2 for 12 months so i am probably shortening the period The thing is I used to edit 4K edit video on Zenfone 6 in VLLO app and it worked just so so. So im a bit afraid 6gb would not have to be enough with next version of MIUI or VLLO app.
Even 4 GB is fine. I don't get why smartphones need so much RAM since most people don't use them for heavy multitasking

Look .... You will have no issues with 6gb and 865.... But again.. if you have spare 55e spend it on 8gb ram...
I repeat... If i could turn back i would buy 8gb... 55e is nothing...and then yku have piece of mind that you have the best possible option...and 128gb is not enough.. 8gb 256 is way to go for 55e....if you can afford it

8GB is LPDDR5

RAM doesn't affect performance.
Be 100℅ sure of that. Android ram management is absolutely not like windows OS for example.
On android the os targets the ram needs at what u're doin' actually unlike windows which provides full ressources to all the programs u're running to.
The SoC is the mandatory key. And damn u'll got a 865 !! Even with 4gb of ram 4k editing could be possible no doubts
Whatever variant u pick u'll never run out
Please, it's NOT the same type of RAM.
It should affect performance (not in a HUGE way indeed), hence the different benchmark score.
("The SoC" 865, you probably mean the CPU?)

i don't even know why i'm responding, but hey...
why would you think i wanna FOOL you, BRO?
the cpu is part of the soc, SO is the ram... even on wikipedia you might get that concept....
the benchmarks are from Antutu, as quoted... get both phones and run your owns if you fancy it
plus, as you know, it is NOT the same type of memory.
AGAIN, the difference is certainly imperceptible, but there IS one.
Does it worth the extra bucks? THAT would be the question... @Evzzza keep in mind you double the storage as well
@kkosnuss, if we follow you, all things being equal, an android system with 2GB of RAM and the same config with 12GB of RAM will deliver the same performances?
...get yourself a break ^^
Cheers!
