I recently unlocked bootloader, installed twrp, and rooted my Sony Xperia Xa2 ultra. When I boot into twrp and flash a zip (I tried fonts and pix3lify) it says it was successful but when I reboot nothing has changed (same font and in the play store it says my device isn't compatible with pixel apps). I don't get any errors. I am rooted with magisk and everything looks fine with it. Running Android 9.0.

Background, I downgraded my firmware to 23.0.a.2.93, rooted with locked bootloader using giefroot v3, then installed NUT's Z3-lockeddualrecovery2.8.3-RELEASE.installer, after which I flashed 5.0.2 to preserve root.
Now my phone refuses to boot into TWRP (skips it altogether, I've tried booting into recovery from app like Flashify, TWRP manager and also using adb command). Phone restarts, but never boots into recovery, and goes straight to the android system. I know I have it installed because TWRP manager shows that it is installed, but when I try to flash a .zip file phone just restarts and nothing happens. I wanted to flash xposed's .zip file, otherwise it won't work.
So my question is, what could be the problem? I reinstalled NUT's dualrecovery several times, still no results.
Seriously, have you been on another planet lately? Sorry for sounding a bit harsh.
It's a known issue that Dual recovery isn't still available for Lollipop.
Hello,
I wanted to install a custom Rom on my Nexus 5 running Android 6.0 so I downloaded TWRP latest and unlocked the Bootloader and installed TWRP.
Now the OS doesn't bootup anymore and the TWRP starts but gets rebooted all the time.
Tried to install an older TWRP version 2.8.70 and sideloaded and installed Pure Nexus Rom but this doesn't fix the problem.
Wiping anything from TWRP gives error messages...
Anyonw can help please!?
OK I have the stock recovery now installed from Android 6.0 and the OS boots up with Pure Nexus... looks OK,...
Anyway what's the problem with TWRP now!?
I don't think so. TWRP 2.8.7.1 is working fine for months. Did you full wipe before flashing your custom rom? Did you flash something else?
U need to install twrp 2.8.4.0 first because twrp 2.8.7.1 can only re-write on twrp 2.8.4.0 or higher..its work fine for me at official google M

That happened to me way back when I first used TWRP. From the official TWRP thread:
"If you have just used fastboot oem unlock, you should let the device boot up normally first before trying to install TWRP."
I think if you don't boot fully once before trying to install TWRP, it loops like that.
Few days ago'i rooted my Z3 d6633 android marshmallow, but when i did the recovery is gone.
My bootloader is locked
I am wondering if I can install the recovery TWRP using flashify from the play store without losing the root
If you still have root, you can use Recrootv4, it has Windows installer, and it reinstalls recovery. Just search for it.
Hi guys, im new to XDA so i have to place this thread in General.
so i bought my phone about 1 year ago and did this:
Unlocked the bootloader
installed TWRP 3.1
Flashed SuperSU using twrp
everything worked fine, but i could not logg into snapchat, so after 2 months i uninstalled the root using the in-app funktion by SuperSU, TWRP still worked and everything was fine. but then i got an update from huawei, which autoinstaled without me noticing at first. phone still worked fine and all, but now i wanted to flash a different OS using TWRP.
i tried to enter recovery mode, but the huawei eRecovery has overwriten TWRP or somthing. i cant enter TWRP, it's just dissapperd from my phone. so i tried to flash TWRP again, and all works fine, no error pc tells me install completed after aproximitly 2 sec. i have tried different TWRP.img but everytime i boot into recovery i only get the standard huawei recovery.
all sugestions appreciated

Hello. I recently installed los 18.1 with gapps on my old Xperia Z3 because my daily XZ2 has a broken screen. The problem is that when I try to root Z3 using magisk, nothing happens. I tried to flash magisk zip in TWRP, patch boot.img and flashing in TWRP, also in fastboot mode. After everything system is starting normally and magisk says it is not installed. Even magisk manager is not installed, i had to install it by myself.
Can anyone help with this?
