Not had that issue on mine. Did you set up your Note 20 Ultra from scratch? If you imported data from another phone that could be the culprit, a FDR might fix it. In the mean time go to setting>apps>camera>clear the cache and data and reboot.

Nah I never do the backup

Try a hard reboot and clear System Cache on boot menu.
An easy fix if it works.

I had an issue where 108mpx mode simply disappeared from camera. Happened only 2 times so far. Had to reboot the phone to fix it.

Try clearing the system cache on the boot menu...
Try clearing data on the cam app if it continues.
Make sure Bixby Vision and Bixby Vision Framework are enabled. The cam needs these 2 Bixby apks for full functionality although the rest of Bixby can be disabled.

Auto Screen Rotation bug?

Hi
Has anybody a bug like mentioned above?
My FRD-L09 with the latest fw b131 has that bug. After rebooting it works as usual but after some time it stops rotating the Screen.
The Rotation is enabled in the Settings. Tested with many apps like google fotos, the stock foto gallery, even chrome does not auto rotate.
As is said, after a reboot it works again.
Try wiping the Cache Partition in the Recovery Mode menu. If that doesn't work then backup the data on your device and perform a hard factory reset on your device.

Is the issue gone for once as you rebooted?!
Yes, as i stated above
Good
I have the same issue, after some time the rotation is not working anymore. A restart fixes that temporary, but it is getting annoying

It has happened to me twice in 2 days. Not sure if it was camera related, but that's when I noticed it because the pics I took in landscape were rotated 90 degrees in the gallery, and nothing auto-rotates after that. So rebooting fixes it.

A hard factory reset solved the problem for me, at least I did not get this issue again since 3 days.
But I think it has something to do with "smart assistance", this is the only setting that is deactivated since I've made the reset.
So try to turn things off there and maybe I am right, if not do a hard reset (Do not forget to backup your data !!)
Have the same annoying bug on my Honor Note 8, must be something to do with Huawei's power management cause it seems to happen when battery goes below 10%. Restart seems to fix it every time
Hello,
I have the same bug on my Honor 8.
Does someone found a solution ? it's very annoying
Thanks!

You are my personal hero, PreDer!
I only deacticated all options in "smart assisstence" settings. Only Smart Key is activated. I did a partition cache wipe afterwards (no factory reset!) and now everything is working perfectly for last couple of days!

Hi, any update?
Same issue here, but today It reactivated the function by itself as it stopped working with gallery and google photo uploading.
I had anyway some movement options active in smart assistance, which I now have deactivated leaving only the smart cover option.
It is still working perfectly for me with only smart key activated in settings. No issues anymore so far...
Ok thanks, looks like mine too is working again.
Something like the error message of "Google....etc etc...impossible recording" whenever the microphone was used by an app, even taking movies. I then discovered that I had to deactivate the "Ok Google on every screen" option.
By the way, even if I wanted to wait for a massive test of the B380 upgrade, I found that my Honor 8 had downloaded automatically the upgrade, prompting me to reboot to install it, when I left it connected to my home wifi.
I can't find anyway to force it not to download system upgrades by itself, I have a very bad experience from iPad of unnecessary upgrades, is there a way to take control manually of system upgrades?
Actually I haven't seen any battery improvement after the upgrade to B380...
I have the same issue. I can confirm that the reboot fixed the problem. Will see how long befoe this bug comes back.

Rebooting fixes until smart assistance critical option forces the problem to come back. It might be a conflict with some particular app, but deactivating most of the smart options one at a time to see which one is the guilty will solve the issue.
Unfortunatly, reboot fixes the bug for me for only 5 or 6 days :/

As multiple times stated, rebooting is USELESS if you don't deactivate the smart option that fights with some of the apps!

Audio stops playing after locking the screen

Hi, I didn't find anyone with similar problems I have with Honor 8 after EMUI 5 update so I think I am rather lonely with this problem.
When I am listening to audio in apps like Deezer, PocketCasts,... there are 3 events that occur randomly after I press power button to lock the screen:
- There is no problem. Audio keeps playing.
- Audio stops playing. When I unlock the phone app is still running. It's like someone would press pause button.
- Audio stops playing. When I unlock the phone I see home screen. App closes itself.
In battery settings these apps have "Close apps after screen lock" option unchecked.
I've already done factory reset but problem persists.
Does anyone also have this issue? How to fix it?
I would be thankful for your help.
Just chiming in to say I have the same issue but unfortunately do not have a solution. I did a factory reset also hoping to fix this but it has not (EMUI 5). I only use Pocketcasts but when it happens (maybe 1 in 5), the app has always closed even though I also have specified the app not to close on screen lock.
Hopefully someone else has come across this and might have an answer.

I don't have this problem any longer. See my reply in this thread:

Basically, disable Chrome browser from closing when the screen is locked.
Hope it works for you too.

Oneplus 6 Display Settings crash

Hi, I am in need of some help. For some reason now whenever I press on Display tab in settings the app just crashes completely, each time. I tried deleting it's data force close reboot and many other things but i'm not sure how to fix it without losing all of my data.. Anyone have any idea what mey be causing it? Booted in Safe Mode and it crashes there also.
Thank you
This is happening on special edition phones. The only way to fix it to reset the phone setting.

Had this happen before on my OP6. You need to perform a factory reset to resolve.

Question HELP! Front camer showing "Camera Failed" warning in all apps

Hi. I've had the S22 Ultra for 3 days and this morning I noticed that when I tried to unlock with Face Recognition it says "Couldn't open camera. Try again."
I then tried opening the camera app, all rear sensors work. But when I switch to the front camera, the app crashes with a warning "Camera failed". I also can't open the front cam in third party apps like messenger and Instagram.
What I did so far:
1. Deleted cache and data for camera app. Still same error when switching to front cam.
2. Removed permissions for All apps except the default camera app. Same error.
3. Uninstalled all apps I have installed since it was last working, still no dice.
4. Booted in safe mode, front cam works fine.
Since it's working in safe mode, I guess this isn't any serious hardware issue, I hope.
I have the Snapdragon version with 512gb storage model SM-S908E/DS.
Anybody have an idea what may be causing this and how to fix it?
Thanks in advance!
It's a 3rd party app. Look at which ones have or request cam permissions to start.
A package disabler is helpful as you can disable apps one by one until you find it.

Got it to work eventually by doing force restart (holding down power button + volume up key). Turned it back on and front cam started working again.
I also then re-allowed the app permissions when I was diagnosing it and front cam still works fine.
Yeah might have been a third party app though it's weird that it didn't work even when I removed all camera permissions for all the apps.
Glad it's working again though, and thankfully I did not need to do factory reset and it's not a hardware issue so I avoid the trouble of returning the unit.
Thanks!
Unless you find the root cause it likely will return.
This is why one should use factory reset as a last ditch measure. It can be tedious but rewarding.
Many times issues are inadvertently caused by the user, many times by installing buggy 3rd party apps. I tend not to experiment with new apps unless I need them because of the trouble they can cause... like 2 back to back factory resets because of boot looping. Android's should run fast and stable if not the cause(s) should be tracked down.
Malware, boot loops*, major firmware upgrades, apps changing hidden user settings and corruption of the user data partition are the only exceptions.
*if app caused you'll still need to track it down
The only recent apps that I remember installing was an app called Nice Lock (an alternative to good lock since we don't have it in my region) and the Keys Cafe module, as well as the "Write on PDF" app from Samsung. I uninstalled these when I was having the front camera problem but removing them did not solve it even after a few regular restarts and cache/data clearing. It only started working when I did the force restart. I reinstalled "Write on PDF" back and so far, so good.
Hard reboot is the solution sometimes.
If you need to continuously use it though it can indicate a hardware issue.
Run it through it's paces while still within the window of return.
Yeah I might need to keep an eye on the issue.
Thanks!
hard reset and start installing apps 1-by-1 and test camera

Question SEE ultra randomly restarting

Hey Guys, as the title says my S22 Ultra is restarting randomly. It seems to be worse in the mornings, but stops in the afternoon and evening. I have updated to latest OS version, have updated all of my apps.
I tried running in Safemode for a couple of hours without it restarting so I don't think its hardware.
I am not doing anything on it out of the ordinary when it happens, browsing Instagram or using it with android auto in my car and it just turns off and back on. My storage is not full 10gb available, also it feels warm around the camera, top half of the phone. Its always done that, I think they just run hot.
It is turning off and then back to the Samsung logo and back on within 45 seconds which leads me to believe its not a full crash, maybe an os crash?
Any ideas on what I can do? I think my next step is a factory reset.
Model: SM-S908B/DS One Ui 4.1 Current os: S908BXXU2AVF1 / S908BXXM2AVF1
You can clear cache in recovery mode and see if fix before you factory reset.

Okay cool I'll try that
So I tried clearing the cache last night but still have restarts this morning. Is there anything else I could try?
Go to Device care, then menu and automation. Check if you have auto restart enabled

Hey just checked and it's off. So frustrating because it's happening while I'm using Google maps to find my route.

That's a tough one then. What about the button next to the menu button on device care? Does it say anything about a restart history there?
if it doesn't restart in safe mode, one of your 3rd party apps is causing the issue.
submit an error report and get feedback when it restarts again
Samsung Members app > Get help > Send feedback > Error reports
do you have life360 app installed on your phone?
Uninstall Telegram
