Visible is a little finicky, it may never work with a custom rom, I don't know.
Try reflashing this from from stock firmware
Code:
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
fastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
To find correct firmware use
Code:
fastboot getvar all

Yes looks like PPOS29.114-134-7-1 from the getvar all you PM'd
but it was compressed quite a bit so didn't get much of it.
You are on RetUS correct? if so this should be correct
https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/ocean/official/RETUS/
XT1955-5_OCEAN_RETUS_9.0_PPOS29.114-134-7-1_cid50_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml.zip
but 10 is available now.
XT1955-5_OCEAN_RETUS_10_QPO30.85-18_cid50_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml.zip
The odd way Visible is setup I don't know if you can get a custom rom to work.

Check for no imei or imei=0.
I have been rom-exploring myself lately and ran into similar issues. *#*#4636#*#* on the dialer. You should have an imei listed. If not, there is a Moto G5 thread about fixing imei=0 that was kind of helpful in general advice.
My process for restoration went like this:
Restore old backup (correct issues with partitions)
Use LMSA to flash latest recovery ROM
Reinstall ROM of choice

how did it go? I am running into the same problem. Just activated Visible but no service/connection at all, LineageOS 17.1
works fine with an unlocked samsung, but not Moto G7 Power RETUS.... dang it.. Halp pls.

Thanks. RR doesn't work either. Also tried apns-conf.xml, nada. Fark! I'll flash stock 9. stock 10 causes random reboots, that's why I installed LOS in the first place.

I downloaded fw (V10c) that's not for my country because no one for baltic was working. I'm from Latvia. When I booted my phone, Data Roaming was disabled. OK, I enabled it, but internet isn't working anyway. Does someone know, how to solve this problem? Please, help.
Thanks.

OP states tested on int HTC One.... So one would assume it does.... As long as you're rooted etc etc then you can install any ROM that matched your device. I'm in the UK and currently running this software and have even update my firmware to match.... Not a single issue with anything
---------- Post added at 11:12 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:10 AM ----------
Oh yeh, I totally forgot to share this here as well as I'm sure there will be those who ask about it....
You wont get mobile data with this ROM in UK. Maybe not in US either and will need to manually add your carrier APN....
Here's a post that gives you the different APN settings.... Feel free to use in OP, they're only links but useful ones.

You can keep what you have or upgrade. Version 1.54.401.5 doesn't have a firmware as it's a port and most will still be using the latest official firmware anyway. As long as it's 4.4.2 I'd say you're pretty safe to assume it'll work just fine running it.

I wouldn't advise doing it if you're unsure so don't shout if it goes wrong... Not sure of a link but I can expain...
Put firmware.zip in your adb/fastboot tools folder on computer
Connect to computer, debugging switched on on phone.
Open command prompt and cd to location of your adb/fastboot tools.
type in adb reboot bootloader
then type fastboot oem rebootRUU
then fastboot flash zip firmware.zip <---- or whatever name your firmware.zip is called
then you should get a warning. DO NOT DISCONNECT YOUR PHONE OR DO ANYTHING RANDOM
type in fastboot flash zip firmware.zip again
then it should work and say done
type fastboot reboot-bootloader to ensure your mainver changed and hboot upgraded etc
type fastboot reboot and you're set.....
But as I said this can be risky so unless you're confident you know what you're doing then don't do it.
Oh and if it's a custom firmware.zip then you'll need S-OFF if you're not already and if it's not a custom zip or you're not S-OFF then be wary that if it doesn't work you could be stuck with firmware that doesn't work as you wont be able to downgrade back to your old one after you flash it.

I flashed the 5.11.661.8 firmware from the telus OTA update and it works fine here.... It's up to you, as I said the only real constraints are if you're S-OFF or not.

Hi,
Set your APN settings because this ROM is for Canada and doesn't include them as stock... You can search for this in Google and add them:
https://www.google.ro/search?q=voda...5.10240j0j9&sourceid=chrome&es_sm=93&ie=UTF-8
Here's what I found, just go to setting - mobile data - APN and add these in the corresponding fields:

LS996 ZV9 Rooted. Now, how do I unlock GSM?

Just got my LS996 back from LG after a warranty service.
As it turned out, there was a hardware problem.
The phone came back in a good shape but it came back with ZV9, GSM locked, and unrooted.
I rooted the phone without any problem and I have read all the related thread on GSM unlocking but I am confused as to what works and what steps are required unlock.
Can anyone provide a definitive guild as to how to GSM unlock a rooted ZV9?
TIA
edit added -----------------
Here is the rooting guide.
Here is a pointer to the rooted zv9 image file.
Same method since ZV5...
Its a standard procedure for all Sprint Gsm LGs.
Depends on where you are or which carrier you will use on GSM...
Got it working for T-Mobile in U.S.
Carrier name shows up as T-Mobile.
GSM is unlocked with voice and messages working fine.
LTE is running on band 4. Band 12 is enabled but don't know if it is functional.
The menu for HOTSPOT shows up but it is blocked and can not be turned on.
The only way I've found to bypass this block is to use the app call "HOTSPOT CONTROL" from the Play store. It's free.
Use the following steps to unlock a rooted phone. Then install 'Hotspot Control' for tethering.
1) use this guide to download and substitute two /carrier/app files.
2) edit /system/build.prop files to change over to TMO in two places.
ro.carrier=TMO
ro.build.target_operator=TMO
3) download "Shortcut Master" app from the Play store and searched for "com.lge.sprinthiddenmenu.iot.ltedataroam'. Run that app and enabled bands 2, 4, and 12 to cover the T-Mobile LTE bands. Also enabled data Roaming.
4)Set APN as follows;
Name: T-Mobile US LTE
APN: fast.t-mobile.com
Proxy: <Not set>
Port: <Not set>
Username: <Not set>
Password: <Not set>
Server: <Not set>
MMSC: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
MMS proxy: <Not set>
MMS port: <Not set>
MMS protocol: WAP 2.0
MCC: 310
MNC: 260
Authentication type: <Not set>
APN type: <Not set> OR Internet+MMS
APN protocol: IPv4/IPv6
APN roaming protocol: IPv4
Enable/disable APN: <greyed out unless there are multiple APN's>
Bearer: Unspecified

The steps were gathered from searching threads in this forum. Hopefully, it will help someone from having to read through mix of conflicting threads to filter out the info.
Below are the sources of where I found the info.
Step 1 already has a link to the thread.
Step 2 is from the same thread as the step 1 but on the second page.
Step 3 is from a post I made about two weeks ago.
Step 4 is from T-Mobile support page. If one does not want to edit the APN, a default APN xml list can be substituted.

There were no instruction. But this should unlock phone even for US. As it is US seller. Who is from US can try.

How did you root it? I followed the guide by Max Lee, but it didn't work (could follow all steps, but Su doesn't install even though I get 'done' message). Searching a lot, I got the impression Sprint G Flex 2 zv9 can't be rooted. It's possible?

I don't see /carrier/apps folder in my phone. I tried searching using the term 'carrier', 'node.db', etc., but they give nothing. Could someone help? My phone is rooted LS996 zv9. Oh, and I'm hoping to use it through Ringplus, if that matters.

everytime i di this step from shortcut master com.lge.sprinthiddenmenu.iot.ltedataroam it starts then closes any ideas?
Works for zvb
although trying to open the com.lge.sprinthiddenmenu.iot.ltedataroam setting from the shortcut master app forced closed, so i got to it by opening com.lge.sprinthiddenmenu.iot.IotHiddenMenuMain then LTE setting then LTE data roam config to enable the bands.

As you may have heard, US carriers did not receive a 5.1.1 Lollipop OTA update. They are not going to receive any Marshmallow 6.0 or Nougat (7.x) updates either. There are CM12.1 (Lollipop) , CM13 (Marshmallow) & CM14.1 (Nougat) customs roms available though. If you are a lucky owner of an XT1526/28/29 Moto E 2nd Gen 4G (Surnia) with an unlocked bootloader you can now also enjoy a stable stock rom intended for the Asian markets:
Current update options:
Android version 5.1.1
Android version 6.0
Carriers supported:
Sprint
Boost Mobile
FreedomPop
RingPlus
Ting
Virgin Mobile
TextNow
Verizon (XT1528 when an unlocked bootloader is available)
Open Mobile
LTE in Rural America (LRA) Partners
If you have a GSM carrier this may also work. Change the Preferred network type from LTE to Global.
In progress:
1. The 4G icon is the default rather than LTE icon. This was by design for this Asian rom. Looking into a better alternative than just replacing the 4G icons with the LTE icons located n SystemUI.apk.
2. Adding carrier specific apps. As I am a FreedomPop user, I only need to know which carrier specific apps are required for the following carriers: Sprint, Boost Mobile, RingPlus, Ting, Virgin Mobile, TextNow and where they can be located (Play Store, a different rom, etc.). If not downloaded from the Play Store, you must test them out first on the rom you are testing (5.1.1 or 6.0) before reporting back.
3.. Workaround for the menus for Activate/System Update no longer existing. (You can still update PRL by dialing # #72786# (# #SCRTN#).)
4. In About Phone->Status->Sim Status: it displays the network as your MVNO carrier when on 1XRTT or eHRPD 3G. Sprint is displayed when on LTE Band 25/26 or TD-LTE Band 41. ( The lock screen also does the same thing) . 1XRTT or eHRPD 3G is being retrieved from the data/eri.xml. Not sure where "Sprint" is being retrieved from but I think it has to do with Sprint's MCC MNC of 311 490 for LTE bands 25, 26, 41.
5. Locating the picture file displayed under Settings->About phone-> Regulatory information so it can be replaced with one for the XT1526/28/29.
6. Adding support for other CDMA variants (XT1528, XT1529, XT838L) if their boot loaders can be unlocked. I heard Verizon XT1528 is permanently locked. Not sure about Open Mobile XT1529. The XT838L is listed with the same hardware as the XT1528 & XT1529 but have no idea what country it is being sold in.
7. APN changes if necessary.
8. Safe way to make sure a newbie doesn't flash their bootloader to a previous version and possibly hard bricking their XT1526.
Let me know which carrier you have and Android version tested. Please test all of the following:

Newbie Guide
If you do not want to update the bootloader, then basically, you go into custom recovery and flash the Surnia_Moto_E_2015_xxx_Stock_Partition_Updater.zip (xxx=5.1.1 or 6.0) first and then the stock rom of your choice.
The Surnia_Moto_E_2015_xxx_Stock_Partition_Updater.zip is necessary ONLY ONCE and ONLY if you have an EARLIER version of the gpt.bin installed. For example, if you upgraded to 6.0 and installed Surnia_Moto_E_2015_6.0_Stock_Partition_Updater.zip already and want to downgrade to 5.1..1 then don't run Surnia_Moto_E_2015_5.1.1_Stock_Partition_Updater.zip before the stock rom. You also don't need to use it if your reinstalling 6.0 or any earlier version either. If you downgrade, please DO NOT ACCEPT any OTAs as this may lead to a hard brick.
1. Backup the entire data on your Moto E 2nd Gen 4G before proceeding. http://guidebeats.com/2015/09/09/backup-data-android-smartphones
2. Sufficiently charge the Moto E 2nd Gen 4G battery before proceeding. At minimum 60%.
3. You will need an unlocked bootloader. https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/standalone/bootloader/unlock-your-device-a
4. Install the Motorola USB drivers to connect your Moto E 2nd Gen 4G to your PC. https://support.motorola.com/us/en/Solution/MS100797
5. Enable USB Debugging Mode on your Moto E 2nd Gen 4G, from Settings -> Developer options. http://guidebeats.com/2016/02/19/en...y-android-smartphone-running-at-kitkat-higher
6.Download, and then install the Minimal ADB and Fastboot tools on your PC. http://guidebeats.com/2015/10/12/guide-to-install-minimal-adb-fastboot-flash-tool-on-windows
7. Download the appropriate Surnia_Moto_E_2015_xxx_Stock_Partition_Updater.zip below.
8. Extract the gpt.bin and the bootloader.img to your Minimal ADB and Fastboot tools directory (along with a custom recovery if you do not have one installed yet - link below).
9. Boot into bootloader mode via [Press and hold the two buttons Vol. Down+ Home at the same time, Release all buttons when the Moto E 2nd Gen 4G vibrates and displays the logo on the screen.
10. Connect your Moto E 2nd Gen 4G to PC while it’s in bootloader mode.
11. Skip this step if you are downgrading or reinstalling the same version. Otherwise, double click the MAF32.exe in the Minimal ADB and Fastboot tools directory and type in the following commands:
fastboot flash partition gpt.bin
fastboot flash bootloader bootloader.img
fastboot flash recovery <name of custom recovery image if you don't already have one, e.g. "twrp-surnia-3.0.2-r1.img">
12. Copy the proper stock rom below to your internal storage.
13. Tap the Vol Up/Vol Down buttons and choose recovery mode. Go to Wipe-->Advanced Wipe. Check Davlik /Art Cache, System, Data, & Cache. Swipe to wipe. Go Back and choose Install.
14. Select your stock rom and tap Install image.
15. After it completes, reboot phone and wait at least 12 minutes to get to the Welcome screen. I suggest waiting until you see a 3G or LTE icon before setting up Wi-Fi during setup.
16. Congratulations, you just updated to stock 5.1.1 or 6.0!

Known Issues:
1. Cosmetic
- (6.0 only) In About Phone->Status->Sim Status the Cellular network type displays as 4G rather than LTE.
- (XT1526 only) In About Phone->Status->Sim Status the Network shows as Sprint even if your using a Sprint MVNO or Sprint subsidiary. (The lock screen also does the same thing)
- The picture file displayed under Settings->About phone-> Regulatory information displays the SAR information for India's XT1521.
2. The menus for Activate Device (Self Service)/System Update no longer exist under System in the settings menu so you cannot access Update PRL, Update Profile, or UICC Unlock. Update Motorola software has been moved to System updates under Settings->About phone. XT1526 users can NO LONGER update PRL by dialing # #72786# (# #SCRTN#) either. You will need to make a backup, install another stock rom, update prl and profile, then reinstall backup.
Uploaded V2 for XT1526
Links for V2 are now in the Newbie guide in the post above.
I am now using the Christmas Nightly 2016 Cyanogenmod 7.1.1 rom. I will no longer be providing support in this forum for these roms.
Changes:
1. APN Changes
2. New Default wallpaper
3. The picture file displayed under Settings->About phone-> Regulatory information no longer displays the SAR information for India's XT1521.
Known Issues:
1. Cosmetic
- (6.0 only) In About Phone->Status->Sim Status the Cellular network type displays as 4G rather than LTE.

Optional:
For Sprint CDMA variants:
Reboot into Bootloader Mode, connect your device to PC and from PC terminal type:
fastboot oem config fsg-id boost if you are a Boost Mobile user
fastboot oem config fsg-id frdm if you are a FreedomPop user
fastboot oem config fsg-id rngplus if you are a RingPlus user
fastboot oem config fsg-id virgin if you are a Virgin Mobile user
fastboot oem config fsg-id sprint if you are a Sprint user or not listed
fastboot oem config fsg-id usc if you are a U.S. Cellular user
This was implemented by Cyanogenmod and I was going to use this to fix the remaining cosmetic issue in the Known Issues. I have lost interest in these roms so I am leaving that cosmetic issue unfinished.
I like this guide. I also own an xt1526 on sprint and successfully flashed the marshmallow rom using the instructions. Great Job!
Thank you for the instruction!
Is it still possible to root on the Marshmallow firmware?

Follow the optional step 15 of installing SuperSU if you want root.
Thanks for setting up this support thread Buzbee - I'm moving over here from the original one.
I'm still getting no joy sending MMS via LTE on Boost. I put in APN settings manually on Cypher's rom and that could send in 3G but as soon as I switch to Squid's CM13/Asian 6.0 OTA on LTE it fails with stock/Hangouts/8sms/etc. It fails immediately too - it doesn't even seem to be trying
An old thread on the Moto G forums suggested that Boost requires authentication for MMS on LTE but not on 3G. That probably means it's a big hassle to get it working but I'll keep digging and see what I can turn up. Thanks again for all your work on this, for everyone on all networks - it's very much appreciated.

Go back to gsm mode. Use the "Change APN" program and click on the plus symbol with a circle around it. Put the following and leave everything alone. Then switch back to cdma.

Thanks for getting back to me. Settings does not want to play nice! I've added the APN but it only shows up if I'm in airplane mode. As soon as I reconnect (whatever my Preferred network type setting) it disappears and the original Sprint and Boost APNs come back. Switch to airplane and they disappear and the one I entered manually is there. Screenshots attached.
I've been playing around with various things and testing them with Debdude (who opened a thread about getting APNs to stick under Troubleshooting) but these errors and disappearing settings are weird. That's not the expected behavior, is it? It seems to affect most roms at the moment, at least on Boost (I've been flicking between the Asian MM OTA, Squid2's CM13 and Cypher).
They like to disappear when the MNC is zeros. Try Changing it to 120. If that don't work try changing APN to n.boost.ispsn like the other one.

Make sure to add 120 for the MNC or the APN wont appear in the list after you save it.
Thanks again.
I followed your advice with both the Boost_Mobile APN and installing Hangouts. Still nothing...until I tried again after a few hours and MMS worked, both on Hangouts and stock messaging app. Great, I thought, and uninstalled Hangouts. And then it failed again. Re-installed Hangouts, gave it a couple of hours, and MMS was back.
I know Hangouts uses its own APN settings which I believe it grabs when first sending an SMS, so maybe that's the key, although I was amazed that stock worked as well. I feel a bit like an impatient ---hole as it seems that giving Hangouts time will sort problems with the system. Either that or a combination of it and the extra APN, even if it doesn't show up under the APN settings. So thanks again for all your help.
If any Boost users are having similar problems I suggest installing Hangouts and then being patient...
The installation batch files are down. Are they just fastboot installers with some adb commands sprinkled throughout? I might be able to manage without them, but would much prefer the bat file.
If I wanted to upgrade straight from 5.0.x to 6.0, I wouldn't need to download the 5.1.1 ROM right? Just everything except that.

Yes you can go from 5.0 to skipping 5.1.1. One of the batch files was missing. It's back up now.

What was the phone's previous carrier? Sprint, Boost mobile, Virgin mobile, or FreedomPop, etc.? Is it a XT1526? If so, go here and download one of the roms (official or deodexed). Don't use any other zips on the site(partition updater, hotspot fox, etc.)

I got a US Cellular XT1526. I don't plan on using it on CDMA, only GSM networks like AT&T/TMO. Will this method work with GSM & how about flashing EU XT1524 6.0.1 OTA instead of XT1521?

I have never used the EU XT1524. The retail asia rom is all in English with nothing but Google and Moto apps. It has an extra google keyboard and language packs but they are not even noticeable unless you go into language and input. You could easily just install the XT1521 rom just don't apply the Buzbee_R3.zip. It shouldn't be needed. Don't accept any OTA's either.

Im stuck

So I was flashing some rom, and at the end of the day my phone is stuck. My only option is the recovery through kies. Only problem is I cannot access my serial number since the only thing i CAN access is download mode. What can I do?

Try flashing a tmobile rom. As long as u got tmobile sim, phone unlocked (if needed) and official or custom tmobile rom it should let you use the sim. Unless of course you havent already tried tmobile apn which in that case add the apn -
T-Mobile LTE
Apn name-fast.tmobile.com
Mcc-310
Mnc-260
Bearer- LTE
APN type- default- blank- or- Internet+MMS
Or google latest tmobile apn. My sprint firmware never lets me put 260 for mnc and wont save apn if i do try 260. My girl had a verizon note 3 and we used tmobile sim just by adding apn settings. Not sure how it works on sprint, i had a sprint s7 edge i was working on and was able to flash verizon stock rom to it with no issues so flashing tmobile rom to your note 5 shouldnt have any issues either but id try apn settings first. Add apn, save, reboot. If still nothing triple check apn settings via google, all else fails try flashing tmobile rom to it.
