[ROM][8.1] LAVA IRIS 88s CLEAN and Stock ROM's 2018 / 2019 - MODIFIED 2019 - Miscellaneous Android Development

Hello there,
so this is my first time I am actually posting a guide ( sort of…this is more like a story of my journey)
*Hope that i followed all the rules regards posting here
I got to this point because of a virus that affects the MTK chipsets.
I am using the Lava IRIS 88s (for work purposes) and that thing got a nice little virus, which is exploiting MTK-SU - the user diplomatic stumbled upon this ( thread is here: LINK ).
Read more about the Virus:
XDA Post about the rootkit which the Virus uses: https://www.xda-developers.com/mediatek-su-rootkit-exploit/
The virus could not be gotten rid of even with a normal Factory reset. It just returned as if nothing ever happened, under different names.
Antiviruses didn’t pick it up always, believe me I tried basically all of them. The most information from the antiviruses gave me actually Dr.Web Antivirus – which lead me to suspect the Typany Keyboard and Lava Touchpal.
So since I had flashed custom ROM’s before, I wanted to do that to this phone.
As a lazy guy, I started searching for already made custom ROM’s which surprisingly was hard for IRIS 88s.
After a while of digging I found some Stock and custom firmware, but they required to get passwords to extract them. After asking for the passwords and since I am an impatient guy also – I started digging around how to make my own custom rom. Adb, Kitchen, Fastboot, MTKtools, SP Flashtool, WWR and much more that I tried and researched.
So here is thanks to the people whose shared knowledge led me to this point.
diplomatic– MTK-SU, Temporary root
demkantor– Fastboot
Jrummy – root browser
topjohnwu – Magisk, Magisk Manager app
Team Vanced - awsome work!
And a very very large thanks to:
Hovatek- I got a lot of useful information and guides from their videos. Very special thanks!!
So here it goes:
I recommend watching these 2 videos by Hovatek:
1. How to use wwr v2.51 + SP flash tool to backup Mediatek rom
2. How To Use SP Flash Tool (Full Guide)
What I had:
1. Windows 10 x64
2. 2x MTK Phone: Lava Iris 88s (MT6739 chipset) - 2018 was mine and 2019 was my friends.
3. Spare time and a really annoying virus as motivation
How I did things:
1. Watched a lot of videos and read through too many guides.
2. A lot of trial and error with a lot of programs until I got to stay with the below.
3. Downloaded the latest version of SP Flash tool
4. Downloaded Wwr_MTK tool
5. Downloaded and installed Notepad++
6. Downloaded and installed Auto Mediatek USB VCOM Drivers
7. Created a backup of my friend’s phone (same model but 2019 software)
8. Played around a lot until I got the ROM I wanted.
So my recommendation would be to do the same .
But if you are lazy like me then just download and extract the files and just flash them.
2018 STOCK ROM: Lava_iris_88s_2_16_S207_WOC_18F08

BOOT.IMG ( ROOT - Magisk patch v20.4.7)
BOOT.IMG ( NON-ROOT)
*If you want ROOT or NO-ROOT - just change the boot.img for the one you want (and install Magisk Manager App to manage root).
Password for the files: Alrighty
Also download additionally the latest versions of: SP Flash Tool, Notepad++, Wwr_MTK tool , Auto Mediatek USB VCOM Drivers
The procedure:
1. Open SP Flash tool and select the scatter file from the extracted ROM folder.
2. Set it to FIRMWARE UPGRADE and make sure all boxes are ticked.
3. Click Download and connect your phone (Be sure to have at least 50% battery and the phone is switched OFF before connecting !!)
4. Wait for it to finish.
5. Now boot your phone into Recovery - Volume UP + Power, then select Recovery, then Hold down Power button and push Volume up – a new screen will load.
6. Clear Cache and then Wipe/Factory reset.
7. Select Reboot
8. Have fun
Changes made in the ROM:
1. Removed Bloatware (a lot of apps I didn’t need like: LavaCare, Typany Keyboard, Touchpal, Aries/Launcher3, Google Play Movies/Music, …)
2. Added apps I thought I would need or want – POCO Launcher, WhatsApp, Youtube Vanced ( With Manager and MicroG), Gboard ( Google keyboard), Brave browser ( It blocks Ad’s very well) / Chrome browser ( if you want that instead).
All of this has been my experience and what I can share with you.
But be warned, I am not responsible if this bricks your phone or does what ever it is not supposed to do. I took the risk as well like you are about to do - just that my little experiment worked for me .
Regards,
Ryuuske01
* Currently using the GoAPPS version on my 2018 and my friends 2019 model.
So far so good - phones seem to be more responsive than previously
PS: if this worked for you as well, do hit the Thanks button so that others can also see.
PPS: Even with this ROM it is still susceptible to MTK-SU, need a newer Security patch which is after March 2020, But Lava doesn’t care to update it. Even the 2018 Model always said it’s Up to date with 5th May 2018 patch while the 2019 model has 5th May 2019 patch. They don’t really want to push updates it seems.
As for troubleshooting I can not really share much insight currently.
Here is what i know:
1. If you can not do a readback because the phone is not recognized:
Reboot PC
2. If it gets stuck in a bootloop or a black screen when trying to add Gmail account.
Flash the ROM again but instead of FIRMWARE UPGRADE choose DOWNLOAD ONLY.
Clear Cache, Wipe data/Factory reset.
* Still stuck in a bootloop? Try again FIRMWARE UPGRADE ( I did brick it twice and changing those got it back running).
3. If the flasing has an issue at the end?
Flash the clean rom for your version and then the modified one but unselect the USER DATA.
PS: I flashed those roms more than 4 times each on either 2018 and 2019 model.
Currently using the 2019 based Go Apps version on my 2018 phone.

Thanks

tried "2019 STOCK ROM" method and it saved my friend's work mobile!
thanks

5. Downloaded and installed Notepad++

So, if i want to Flash this ROM. Which BOOT.img file should i choose?
BOOT.IMG ( ROOT - Magisk patch v20.4.7) or BOOT.IMG ( NON-ROOT)?

Depends if you need root or not.
But if youre asking this, then probably not needed and just use the non root.

Thank You.
Then i will use the Non Root File. I don't need the Root Permission on that phone.

When stuck / frozen on boot (bootloop) you can always reset by holding Volume Up & Power for over 12 sec!
Carlivs Tutorial is another good, clear and complete overview of all this!
You CAN NOT dump/read your phone with the official Acer drivers (no virtual COM port)!
I now succesfully used PDANet (See Tools / Drivers), but a lot of people seem to use the VCOM drivers (MT6589 VCOM, MTK Preloader etc.
The only tool (see Tools section) working after a lot of trying (!) for me was (old) SP Flash Tool 3.1344, and sometimes the newest 3.1408, both icw MTK Droid 2.5.3!

ROM Installing / Updating
Basic instructions to update your phone (if not automatically Over The Air (OTA)) with a ROM ZIP using a recovery:
If you have the SP Flash Tool (see Tools), make a backup with that too
Install CWM (or any other custom recovery like Carliv's CTR or TWRP if available for E380)(see Root by Flash)
Download and unzip the ROM update (see Acer Update History and watch new posts)
Copy the FixPack-B.zip to SD card
(Re)Boot into recovery
Make a full backup in recovery (to SD)
Flash the FixPack-B.zip from recovery
Reboot & enjoy the new ROM / updated Android!
Root by flash (preferred method)
WARNING: USE AT YOUR OWN RISK, THIS CAN BE DIFFICULT OR EVEN DANGEROUS!!!
When stuck / frozen on boot (bootloop) you can always reset by holding Volume Up & Power for over 12 sec!
Carlivs Tutorial is another good, clear and complete overview of all this!
Steps 0-4 are to be found explained more thouroughly and with images, in the tutorials in the ROM Dump section. Read them. Read them well!
All tools can be found in the Tools section.
Also, a short (better?) version by Shreps can be found here (or check this ChinaPhoneArena one).
0) Install drivers (see Tools) with a good USB virtual COM port emulation! Most simple is to install PDANet maybe, but lot of people seem to use so called VCOM drivers / MT6589 VCOM / MTK Preloader etc. Other option is the MTK USB All Developer drivers. Make sure connection is OK, and MTK Droid works (when phone is on)!
1) Create scatter file or use the one attached to this post.
2) Read back (stock) recovery (or all) partitions with (old) SP Flash Tool 3.1344 using scatter from 1, or download my stock recovery img here.
3) Download CWM 6.0.5.0 by vache or Carliv Touch Recovery CTR (2.7 for JB, 3.0 for KK) (thanks to vache/Shreps for CWM, thanks to Carliv for CTR!)(or make your own by MTK Droid altering stock recovery image);
4) "Download" (to phone) the custom recovery with (old) SP Flash Tool 3.1344 using scatter from 1, or use mine.
5a) Copy SuperSU zip to SD card, and boot your phone into CWM/Carliv recovery (hold volume up and turn phone on), and then Install zip from SD > install SuperSU.
5b) Te keep your custom CWM: Install SuperSU immediately after boot, and use File / Root Explorer to delete file ".. recovery .." in System folder before booting again!
6) YOU ARE ROOTED!
7) Install BusyBox (see Tools section)

I've managed to make a backup using MTK droid and root tool. hackwerk, it seems you are getting ahead of me now can you post your recovery if it's working ? thanks !
Is it safe to install and activate Xposed framework on the E3 ?
I got a notification today about a 8.23 Mb update ! But there is no changelog anywhere and I don't want to install it yet...
Anyone got it ?

Yes I already have a datamap / scatter file (from MTK Droid) and used it succesfully to dump / backup all blocks to images (recovery.img boot.img android.img etc) on my non-rooted phone! (however USERDATA block fails in SP Flash Tool, and I do not know the end address of the ROM thus cannot dump the last block (__NODL_BMTPOOL))
Made a CWM custom recovery with the Official CWM Builder online, but the new output recovery was larger than my stock input one!?
Big problem for now, as I cannot fit it in the current recovery space?!
Xposed I do not know? However I strongly advise everyone NOT to install / run programs or apps or packages etc which are not on XDA or are closed source! There's a LOT of virussing / spying / trojanning going on in this world.
The official Acer update is only (as far as I found out);
1) Update of the build from Acer_AV052_E380_1.007.00_EMEA_GEN1 > Acer_AV052_E380_1.012.00_EMEA_GEN1
2) Update of the APN version from APN 2.053 > APN 2.062
I colored the 2 changes green in my FP.
So just do it, its fine I guess, and we will get Android 4.4 Kit Kat soon anyways...
Ok, and do you think that with root I would be able to retrieve this last block ?
I can confirm that even after reboot the root is there ! I used Voodoo OTA rootkeeper to make the OTA update, just to be safe and it managed after 2 restores to put back root. I don't know if it was needed.
I don't see any change with this update, just a traduction error corrected in the settings menu (flip cover wake up)...
Would be nice to have a changelog from Acer just to know !
I can also confirm that Xposed Framework is perfectly working on this phone.

Size of the last 2 partitions is now known and added but the reason it cannot be read by SP Flash Tool is that the sizes are not a multiple of 512 or so!?
Yeah baby! Great news!
I managed to install the ClockworkMod Recovery (rua1 autoCWM 5.5.0.4) made by the MTK Droid Root & Tool, and Downloading it to my phone in the older SP Flash Tool 3.1344!
After that of course installed SuperSU and we are ROOT, by a simpel/safe/clean method!
Links and stuff are in the first post.
Problems/ToDo now:
1) This CWM is removed after a normal (re)boot and replaced by the stock one (Android system recovery 3e). How!? And how to stop this?!
2) Newer CWM (6.0.4.7) like the one the online CWM Builder makes for me (altering my stock image) seems to big for the partition
3) Custom ROM making (CyanogenMod!!!), but let's wait for 4.4 Kit Kat and the sources of that, which will be available in the next months.
Data to Ext SD
We need to extend space to our external SD card, as the internal phone memory is not huge.
However I really really cannot see all differences with pro's and con's anymore between all options, so please help me!
What should we do, with this rooted stock Acer ROM (Android 4.2.2)(with EXT4 partitions and CWM recovery)?
1) Use one of the famous scripts INT2EXT, Data2EXT/D2EXT, Mount2SD/M2SD, Apps2SD/A2SD etc. etc.
1b) For INT2EXT we need Init.d support, so whats the best way to add that? An App like Init.d Toggler or Universal Init.d or so? (4.4 support would be nice!)
2) Just use simple symlinks with Link2SD/L2SD or Apps like FolderMount etc
3) Repartition and make data partition on SD, using Meteos etc
4) Use one of the many Apps to move Apps, like Titanium Backup etc.
What CAN, and SHOULD we try/use? Please advise me?
Have you already seen this behaviour of a custom recovery reverting back to stock after reboot ?
I've always used link2sd with my previous phone, so far I put my apps on sd using the android built-in option on my E3, because I haven't reached the internal storage limit yet...
Are we only 2 having this phone ?^^

From what I can see now, you should install SuperSU immediately the first time in CWM, and THEN reboot. SuperSU asks for permission for Acer system update and you should deny that. CWM will then stay. However, you could also update (to 4.4 later) and then flash the CWM again of course.
Yeah the phone is JUST released, so we are the first. Probably some more people will join in the next months!

ROM Dump / Partitions / Scatter
You CAN NOT dump/read your phone with the official Acer drivers (no virtual COM port)!
I now succesfully used PDANet (drivers), but a lot of people seem to use the VCOM drivers (MT6589 VCOM, MTK Preloader etc.: All the same old v 1.1123.0).
The only tool (see Tools section) working after a lot of trying (!) for me was (old) SP Flash Tool 3.1344, and sometimes the newest 3.1408, both icw MTK Droid 2.5.3!

0) Install drivers with a good USB virtual COM port emulation. Most simple is to install PDANet (4.15), but lot of people seem to use the VCOM drivers / MT6589 VCOM / MTK Preloader etc. (All the same old v 1.1123.0). Make sure connection is OK, and MTK Droid works (when phone is on)!
1) Create scatter file or use mine.
2) Read back (stock) recovery (or all) partitions with (old) SP Flash Tool 3.1344 using scatter from 1, or download my stock recovery img here.
3) Let MTK Droid alter the recovery image and make a custom CWM one of it.
4) Download (to phone) the custom CWM recovery with (old) SP Flash Tool 3.1344 using scatter from 1, or use mine.
5) Copy SuperSU zip to SD card, and boot your phone into CWM recovery (hold volume up and turn phone on), and then Install zip from SD > install SuperSU. Do it the first time in CWM, because a reboot without root REVERTS recovery to stock (safety by Acer?!)!
6) YOU ARE ROOTED!
7) Install BusyBox (see Tools section)

Camerafix (by ventus00): Drag Camera app to homescreen into "App info" which brings you to "Gallery" app info. Press Force stop > Clear data. What fixed the cam was pressing "Clear defaults" under "Launch by default".
Hacks
To boot into recovery/fastboot mode, hold Volume Up while powering device on.
To make Acer's drivers also recovery/fastboot compatible, add this line to your "android_winusb.inf" files in the maps in submap "drivers" (and then install/update drivers in Windows Device Manager): %SingleAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_0BB4&PID_0C01

Porting custom roms from Acer Liquid E2 to Acer Liquid E3 it's very simple.
All you need to do is to take boot.img (kernel) from your stock rom and then if you want I can help you to port kernel to your e3

Welcome Marco and thanks!
Our ALE3 stock boot.img and the kernel source (both still 4.2.2) are already available and I really welcome you to help us.
Although we are also very much waiting for the 4.4 Kit Kat release which is almost there (Q2)!
Ps. Is it (still) hard/impossible to get a CyanogenMod (which I LOVE and am very used to) clone running on our ALE3 (because of MediaTek MT6589?)?
Unlock
Can you tell me if any of the above will unlock my new E380 ? Or do I need to wait for a custom ROM to be ported ?
Many thanks.

I own a Acer Liquid E2 and I ported CM11 from Wiko Stairway (MT6589) to my phone thanks to some patches and libs. At the moment developers have to fix camera, bluetooth, hw acceleration and some little bugs.
I can port this roms but I haven't got a Acer Liquid E3 so I can't test them.
EDIT: I'm gonna port these kernels, but I can't upload those roms because of my bad connection
So all you had to do is to download the roms, replace my kernel in the rom and replace libs with stock libs (they are located in system/lib/modules )
Jellyxperia kernel:
https://mega.co.nz/#!8ZVHzTwJ!kQO_A9AJdLx2Mz3u1ctZ5-IhuEUZvFJOb-SxG9LuyJA
MIUI kernel
https://mega.co.nz/#!gJtQVSCQ!5IdxGHxOobBfGblp8Dd7AUM03prNScxaIudSXT5879E
Try and tell me if I succeed
As long as key features of our (ALE3) phone are not supported in custom ROMs, like camera, I will not (try to) flash/test or modify them.
I am not a developer, and I really demand basic features like making a picture
And again, maybe we should start fukkin around when 4.4 (and sources of 4.4?) are released!

What exactly do you mean by unlock? Rooting? Pattern/PIN lock? SIM / network lock?
Rooting:
See the first post (FP) / topic start (TS) if rooting is what you want and try the simple but obscure Kingo method or flash CWM and install SuperSU etc (complicated but trusted / universal method).
SIM / Network lock:
If rooted, you can install all apps (signed and unsigned) and do everything in your phone you want to, so install a SIM unlock app (OWN RISK), or use a complicated but more trusted file edit method (OWN RISK). A good app option seems to be the famous MobileUncle MTK Tools (see Tools section in FP), as it has a Permanent Unlock option for both SIMs in the Engineer Mode (MTK)!
PIN / Pattern:
A million methods via ADB, or (CWM) recovery etc, like these, but just Google man!

So you have CM11 running, but with these problems (because of the MT6589), on your ALE2?
And you did (or also) run customs SC0RPION, JellyXperia and MIUI (only/all three?) and without big problems (so I can probably use those on daily basis)?
Which one do you like best? SC0RPION seems most updated, newest and best fitting (ALE2 based), MIUI seems older and simpler, and Jelly is based on an other phone?!
I do not understand how I would be able to port them to our ALE3. Can you explain it more elaborate please?

Many thanks,
Yes I meant network unlock (use a phone on an alternate network to that to which it is locked)
Three (UK) have kindly agreed to unlock without charge .. So I just need to root as I need to port some sideloaded apps accross from an old HD.
All the best

So you have CM11 running, but with these problems (because of the MT6589), on your ALE2?
And you did (or also) run customs SC0RPION, JellyXperia and MIUI (only/all three?) and without big problems (so I can probably use those on daily basis)?
Which one do you like best? SC0RPION seems most updated, newest and best fitting (ALE2 based), MIUI seems older and simpler, and Jelly is based on an other phone?!
I do not understand how I would be able to port them to our ALE3. Can you explain it more elaborate please?

CM11 is still buggy on mt6589, not only on my phone.
I tried those roms and they are bugfree except jellyxperia which is not multilanguage, in fact only english and chinese.
Honestly I prefer Sc0rpion rom because of its performance/battery life.
About porting roms, you should follow these steps:
1 - Download rom you want to port
2 - On your stock rom, go to system/lib/modules and copy all the libs inside this folder on your sd card
3 - Open custom rom zip and replace custom libs (in the same folder) with your libs
4 - Now replace boot.img of the rom with the ported boot.img which I gave you (i.e. ALE3Jellyxperia)
5 - Make a backup of your stock rom, Wipe data/factory reset and flash the zip in CWM
Yesterday I forgot Sc0rpion kernel, so you can download it here:

Please tell me if you have any problem

Thanks a lot but after my whole journey (see FP) I just finished configging my phone and am very happy at the moment.
I will try it later, but maybe 4.4 (will be released for us, inc kernel source) will be my next step, and I hope CM11 4.4 customly made from/for this!
How did you make these boot.img images for our ALE3 (from ALE2) btw?

I unpacked ALE2 and ALE3 kernel. Then I packed a kernel with the ramdisk of the ALE2 and the zImage of the ALE3. That's all

Introduction
If you want to put root and TWRP on your device then you have to commit to this as there is no going back from Alcatel to Vodafone firmware after this unless someone uses the scatter file for this device to perform a readback (SP Flash Tool, search: Hovatek how to make a full backup of your stock ROM using sp flash tool, however, the dev blocks should be gathered straight from the scatter file, not MTK droid tools. Will update this if this happens it is successfully conducted by someone ) This little corner of XDA will show you how to:
Flash Alcatel Firmware
Install Custom Recovery (TWRP/CTR)
Root with SuperSU
Install one custom ROM (Cyanogen MOD 13)
NOTE: I will NOT teach you how to install drivers if you need to do that go to https://forum.hovatek.com/thread-440.html (If you are running Windows 7 and up you need to disable 'Driver Signature Verification', this link will show you how to do it: https://forum.hovatek.com/thread-752.html
If you can't figure out how to that by yourself (everything is a google search away) then you shouldn't even attempt any of this.
All files will be on AndroidFileHost
If you want to download all the files for all the tutorials, then you can download the complete package which has everything required for the tutorials (except for drivers of course)

I have questions......
Since Google keeps crashing me out of apps and breaking my brightness control to send me ads and try to get me to install experimental zombies this past month, I'm keen to try this on my VFD501 Vodafone Smart Turbo 7 but.....
Does the initial step have to be Alcatel? I only ask because my SIM is 2 Degrees and I don't know if it'll work with it as it's a bit sketchy while it's still thinking it's a Vodafone.
Is the second step the ONLY rom it'll work with? How far can the hardware be pushed or more efficient?
Lastly, would I still be able to get updates for the usual app suspects? I'm getting further into Minecraft now there's online server games and I'm not finding any options for updates other than through the Play Store. I also watch quite a bit of YouTube on it (another Google aquisition). Would these be denied me by the EvilCorp™ once I free my phone from it's clutches and get rid of Google Movies, Google Mail, Google other bloatware aside from Books where I have several and would like to keep reading them?
HIe, when can we get the custom rom.looks great.
Do you still have the mixed Spanish English rom?
Could you post that please if you still have it? When i installed the cyanogenmod after flashing to alcatel after locking the screen and turning it on again it won't render properly anymore, i just see random lines. Thank you in anticipation!
guys, please can anyone make a backup (TWRP)of stock ROM with /system /data /FRP /protect /boot ? with any google account please.
i want to unlock FRP on my vfd500, i gorgot my google account on this phone so i cant go pass setup wizzard, thanks

So far you have to flash Alcatel to do any modding whatsoever, however, I may have a solution so we can get root on VFD 500 running Vodafone stock but not VFD 501 (however I'm begging my friend to borrow his to do a Miracle Box Backup so fingers crossed :silly: so I can get the 501 version of the Vodafone OS) if the solution works I will release a video on it, if you want to know if you have to flash Alcatel for custom ROMs yes you need Alcatel for the ROMs there is currently no ROMs for this device, and I don't know how to make and edit ROMs just gonna put that out their
Not working for me. Format completed OK. but then error "S_FT_ENABLE_DRAM_FAIL (0xFC0)" given when doing the download and format. Vodafone VFD501, used scatter file provided, drivers appear to be installed ok except i get "MediaTek USB port" used by the firmware loader. "MediaTek Preloader USB VCOM Port" stays even when phone is not plugged in and had yellow triangle

Solved now using this rom and instructions.
Can't post links so google - Download Vodafone Stock Rom for all models - Android MTK and look for VFD500 in the list
The driver tool uninstalled lots of drivers i think this may have helped it use the "MediaTek Preloader USB VCOM Port" which allowed it to write to the phone. Took about 10-15 mins to boot afterwards, I thought it was stuck but just a slow phone

Vodafone_Smart_Turbo_7_VFD500 - RR 7.1 ROM + TWRP 3.0.2 + SP Flash Tool + VFD500_ROM
Hi!
I get a Vodafone_Smart_Turbo_7_VFD500 phone bricked and was very dificult to find a working rom, there are a few that boot but after locking the phone screen goes mad...
I fixed a RR rom, still not perfect but is better.
One kwon issue is charging with phone off, screen stays white and on...
I Let here a link with:
SP_Flash_Tool_v5.1916_Win
SP_USB_Win7_Drivers ( Copy to Desktop and execute the shortcut)
Vodafone_Smart_Turbo_7_VFD500_MT6735M_V2.39.1_21122016_6.0 ROM to flash with SP Tool
open_gapps-arm-7.1-nano-20191029.zip
RR-N-v5.8.5-PIXI4_5_4G.zip (Fixed) Rom
TWRP3.0.2-0_VDF500.img Recovey (Use SP Tool with MT6735M_Android_scatter.txt from Vodafone ROM to flash it)
To use SP tool, first install the drivers then open SP tool, search for MT6735M_Android_scatter.txt file. To install full Vodafone ROM click in Download only and select Format All + Download then Download key above and plug USB, to install TWRP unselect all and only select recovery and click in location field, search for TWRP, click in download from above and plug USB ( If faild with error you need to flash all Vodafone ROM first).
After all this, use TWRP to flash RR Rom then Gapps.

The Google Apps version of 06/15/2018
Linux dependencies: android-tools
Windows version you can find on 4pda or in the following post of this thread<-- WINDOWS VERSION
Temporary the Windows version placed HERE

1) Unpack the archive anywhere and go to the appeared folder "ML2-GApps-Debloat".
2a) Open the terminal (console) from this folder and run the script file:
Code:
./ML2-GApps-Debloat-Linux.sh
OR...
2b) Simply "Run the file in the terminal window (console)" from the context menu of the file manager by right clicking on the mentioned file.
After the launch, you will get into a simple text menu with a choice of further installation steps.
After installing any of the Google Apps options your smartphone will be rebooted!
All applications are installed by the script in the User Space, and they are not afraid of a typical system update.

Inspired by: 4pda community
It is possible to update the script in the future for EUI with Root system access, and to add more functionality.
With today update of v0.1.6 we did:
- options to remove GApps and MoreLocale2 options
- all code optimized and re-visioned
Please enjoy!
With today update of v0.1.7 we added:
- option to remove few Chinese bloatware applications
- options to hide most of LeEco apllications and services
Please enjoy!
Also I prepared a Video manual of:
- installing EUI 5.9.025S via Fastboot
- updating to EUI 5.9.028S via OTA
- removing and hiding most of useless applications with using a tool of topic
- installing GApps with using a tool of topic
Hope you will like it.

It is true that leeco has sent the source code of the x650 to a 4pda developer?.

No, it's not true. Nobody from 4PDA mentioned about that. If somebody got source code and keeping silent it's not good and shame on them but it's all I know.
I have success to install 5.9.025s china roms then use ML2 debloat apps. It works well and i have hide the launcher just like the tutorial. And then, when im playing games. I realize that the super manager (phone manager) has gone. Could you put back the phone manager please or dont include it in the option. Because with phone manager, the phone can enter the high performance mode so the game will not laggy. Im really disappointed because the super manager has gone. Please help.

[TOOL]MotoTool[Beta v1.4.9.9][21-04-2020]

Getting Started- This is a simple Tool for MotoTool for Motorola Moto Devices (Beckham, Doha, Lake, River, Evert, Sanders, Potter, Lima) - (All variants), here you will be able to Boot TWRP, flash any firmware that you want and debloat all apps too!
Prerequisites
* You must have NetFramework 4+ installed on your PC * Net Framework
* Windows 8+ 64 Bits
Install
-Start the "MotoTool_v1.4.9.9_Setup.exe"
- The installer will create a desktop shortcut and in Windows app will create a folder with the tool inside.
- When the installer ends, will ask you if you want to launch the Tool and if you want to isntall MotoDrivers. Please if you dont have MotoDrivers installed or you dont know, dont uncheck the option and let the install do it![/B]
How it works?
- The installation will create a "MotoTool" shortcut on desktop
- When you launch the Tool on the first time this will:
-- unpack on "C:\adb" fastboot&adb
-- launch a batch file: **You must accept this, because will remove unnecesary Moto Device Manager to save storage! If you don´t accept this, when you start again the Tool on next launch, will be asking you again! so i recommend you to accept it!**
-- create neccesary folders
-- generate a settings for the Tool. Be careful with this, if you clear the folders, you will lost, TWRP, Firmware, and the Tool settings!
- You must have to be enable usb debugging on your device so the Tool can work!, and IMPORTANT have Bootloader unlocked to use the options like Boot TWRP or flash any Firmware!
- Then you can use any option, remember if you want to download any file, this will check internet connection, if it´s null the tool will reset and restart the Tool!
- If you want to boot TWRP, this will be downloaded (when download finish, click again the option!) and flashed, but remember to put your device on Bootloader mode!
- Themes, the default style it´s dark, so the Tool on the first start will be by default dark, if you want to change it go to "Tool Extras" and select light screen, but be carefoul with your eyes! light Theme it´s so brightness!

Getting Started
- This is a simple Tool for Motorola Moto Z3 Play, here you will be able to Boot TWRP, flash any firmware that you want and debloat all apps too!
Prerequisites
* You must have NetFramework 4+ installed on your PC * Net Framework
* Windows 8+ 64 Bits
Install
- Start the "BeckhamTool_v1.0.0.5_Setup.exe"
- The installer will create a desktop shortcut and in Windows app will create a folder with the tool inside.
- When the installer ends, will ask you if you want to launch the Tool and if you want to isntall MotoDrivers. *Please if you dont have MotoDrivers installed or you dont know, dont uncheck the option and let the install do it (WARNING: Uncheck Launch Tool!)
NOTE Setup: if you check the box "Launch BeckhamTool" the Tool will be executed, but setup wont be closed, so restart the Tool for now
How it works?
- The installation will create a "BeckhamTool" shortcut on desktop
- When you launch the Tool on the first time will unpack on "C:\adb" fastboot&adb, and will create neccesary folders and generate a settings for the Tool. Be careful with this, if you clear the folders, you will lost, TWRP, Firmware, and the Tool settings
- You must have to be enable usb debugging on your device so the Tool can work!, and have Bootloader unlocked to use the options like Boot TWRP or flash any Firmware
- Then you can use any option, remember if you want to download any file, this will check internet connection, if its null the tool will reset and restart the Tool!
- If you want to boot TWRP, this will be downloaded (when download finish, click again the option) and flashed, but remember to put your device on Bootloader mode and ready to flash
- Themes, the default style it´s dark, so the Tool on the first start will be by default dark, if you want to change it go to settings icon and change it, but be carefoul with your eyes! Light Theme its so brightness!

Thank you!
I've been missing from the Moto Z3 for 6 months now.
I think it's time to tinker with the Z3Play so I'll give the tool a try.
Even if I know nothing about TRW, custom ROMs and rooting of THIS device.
My previous experience was with LG devices. Which were pretty straight forward.
Sent from my Moto Z3 Play using Tapatalk
Everything that you can do with this app you can do with fastboot which is multiplatform.

@franTW
Thanks for this nice tool, I just took my Z3 Play out of the drawer, after a year or so.

Question A newbie question about X3 Pro with LineageOS

Hi Fellows,
First of all, I’m newbie to flashing (or so-called) phones. I want to change my phone for de-googled one. I’m thinking about POCO X3 Pro with LineageOS 18.1.
I’ve been recently reading a lot about changing OS, but I feel completely overwhelmed by how complex knowledge it is. Even on the forum there is so much info, so much specific vocabulary/acronyms
Can you advise me, how to start?
Or maybe different way... do you know any reliable service/somebody in the UK, who could help? I've already checked services in my town - no one does software modifications

You don´t need to pay someone else for that, you can do it by your own.
I will give you the topics in order, one by one, and just search for the info till understand what you are want to achieve.
1-Unlocking bootloader.
2-Flashing a custom recovery.
3-Rooting (optional)
4-installing a custom ROM (like LineageOS)
Search for these topics in your own forum, read carefully and apply them when you are sure what you are doing.
Copied these from my old post in other forums, I updated a little but still might be a little outdated
Spoiler: How to unlock bootloader
Link your poco x3 pro to your MI account
Activate "Find my device" for Mi account
Settings > About Phone > Tab "MIUI version (For POCO)" until developer mode unlocked
Settings > Additional Settings > Developer Options
OEM unlocking - Checked
Mi Unlock status > Add account and device - Do only once, anymore will reset 168 hours unlock counter
Go to https://en.miui.com/unlock/and download the mi unlock software
Latest version to date of this post is https://miuirom.xiaomi.com/rom/u1106245679/5.5.224.55/miflash_unlock-en-5.5.224.55.zip
Prepare for future unlock
Turn off your mobile
Boot into fastboot mode - Volume Down + Power
Run "MiUsbDriver.exe" located in the miflash_unlock_en zip
Connect mobile to PC or laptop
Poco X3 Pro driver should be installed
Run "miflash_unlock.exe" and proceed through the software
If you yet to apply for permission to unlock, you can apply from there (I think, the last I applied was years ago, not sure still a thing now or not)
The software will tell you the countdown which is 168 hours aka 1 week.
Exit fastboot mode on phone by holding the power button.
A week later, time to unlock.
Backup your file, if you have used the phone intensively, unlocking will result in factory reset.
Turn off mobile
Boot into fastboot mode - Volume Down + Power
Run "miflash_unlock.exe"
Connect mobile to PC
Proceed through "miflash_unlock.exe"
Unlocked
Spoiler: How to Flash Custom Recovery
Download google platform tool from https://developer.android.com/studio/releases/platform-tools
Extract the tool
In the tool folder, type "cmd" at "Address bar" to open command prompt to that folder
Press enter after you type "cmd", if it isn't obvious.
Turn off mobile
Boot into fastboot mode - Volume Down + Power
Connect mobile to PC
Go to command prompt window, type "fastboot devices".
Your phone will be shown if detected, otherwise, fix your driver.
Download Custom Recovery
OrangeFox - https://orangefox.download/device/vayu
TWRP - https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/recovery-unofficial-teamwin-recovery-project.4269551/
Lineage OS Recovery - https://download.lineageos.org/vayu
Don't use LOS recovery if you are rooting, it doesn't support OTA data decryption thus magisk need to be reflashed everytime during OTA.
Extract the "img" recovery file to the tool's folder
Type "fastboot flash recovery <filename>"
Done, type "fastboot reboot recovery" or Volume Up + Power on mobile to enter recovery
Spoiler: How to Flash Custom Rom
Connect mobile to PC
Copy files to mobile
Firmware - https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/firmware/vayu/
Rom
XDA Roms - https://forum.xda-developers.com/f/xiaomi-poco-x3-pro.12163/?prefix_id=33
Xiaomi EU Rom - https://xiaomi.eu/community/forums/miui-rom-releases.103/
Gapp (if you want)
MindtheGapps
NikGapps
FlameGapps
OpenGapps (Personally Recommended)
Magisk (If rooting) - https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk/releases
Boot into recovery - Vol up + Power
install in order
Firmware
Rom
Gapps (if you want)
Magisk (if rooting)
Format data in recovery
Wipe Cache and Dalvik/Art Cache (If the recovery support it)
Reboot into system
Done
If you mess up the format data sequence, don't worry, you can always use "adb sideload". Also, if you use LOS recovery, you need to use sideload.
Look for sideload in recovery
Open command prompt in your tool folder, type "adb sideload <filename>" to install the things you want.
Spoiler: How to flash back or to official rom along with official recovery
Download xiaomi flash tool - https://xiaomiflashtool.com/
Download fastboot package - https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/archive/miui/vayu/
Extract xiaomi flash tool, run "XiaoMiFlash.exe"
Extract fastboot package to somewhere, preferably root subfolder of c:\ or whatever drive
Long pathname can cause "XiaoMiFlash.exe" to run into error
Boot mobile into fastboot - Vol down + power
Connect mobile to pc
In "XiaoMiFlash.exe", select folder of fastboot package
Bottom right of the software, choose "clean all" or "clean and lock (bootloader)"
Click flash
Once done, it will auto reboot into MIUI
Spoiler: How to pass safetynet for custom rom
At the moment of this post, most custom roms fail safetynet. It is not absolutely necessary to get safetynet to work. Only do this if the gapps you want to install require it.
Install magisk (No way around it)
Install props config module
Reboot
Run any terminal app - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.termux
Type "su" and enter
Grant super user rights to it
Type "props" and enter
Type "1" and enter
Type "f" and enter
Type "22" and enter
Type "6" and enter
Basically, you are choosing "Poco X3 Pro (Global)"
Type "y"
Reboot and test your safetynet
Spoiler: How to make Nasty Anti-Root Apps work with Magisk
In magisk, install Riru module
Download Unshare - https://github.com/vvb2060/riru-unshare/releases
In magisk, install Unshare
In magisk, enable "Magisk Hide" in settings
In magisk, "hide Magisk" in settings, choose some really unpredictable name
In magisk, press "Shield", hide all options (dropdown) for the targetted App
Reboot
Try run the apps multiple times
If fail
Install App Manager - https://f-droid.org/en/packages/io.github.muntashirakon.AppManager/
In App Manager, look for the apps, go to "Services", disable that one "(Isolated)" service.
Double make sure it is applied
Reboot
Try run the apps multiple times
Still fail
Try this, some say it worked
In magisk, install LsPosed module
Install XPrivacyLua - https://repo.xposed.info/module/eu.faircode.xlua
In LsPosed, enable XprivacyLua and Singpass in that same list
Reboot
In XPrivacyLua, look for the app, enable restrict on "Get Applications"
Reboot
Try run the apps multiple times
this is the last resort
Install Shelter - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.typeblog.shelter
Clone the App in Shelter
In shelter, under work profile, make sure no rooted apps in there
Reboot
Try run the App in work profile multiple times

Thanks a lot. It makes sense.
I was also told, that before flashing it is esential to do a backup.
What's your opinion? How to do so?

About backup the first important is what is important for one, I mean personal information like messages, call, WhatsApp and so on.
But the most important in other sense is about the well functioning of the device itself, for example EFS where is stored the IMEIs, sometimes vendor, dtbo and persist images depending on the custom recovery if it includes these options.
Particularly, I never need any other partition from recovering eventually my device/s.
I would like to suggest you to try flashing some roms on any other device which you don't use(for ex. an old abandoned phone) and gain some experience before trying on your poco x3 pro.

That was my idea. Unfortunately the only 'old' phone I've got is Huawei P9 Lite 2017 with Android 7. I haven't found any information, that there is a way to install LineageOS on the device.
However, for training purposes I could install any different OS, suitable for the device. Do you know any?
By the way, is the following link the only valid repository for the OS?
LineageOS Downloads
download.lineageos.org

If you had no experience of flashing a phone, read and follow this guide with Pictures :
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/4288121/post-85137963
It should be sufficient to help you flash a ROM.
No tutorial about backup data from phone in that guide, you have to do it on your own.

I like this method, and this specific guide is what helped me flash custom rom on my X3 pro.
It is detailed and even gives notice if in case we get lost in a step.
I hope the OP can read this as the guide was really helpful. I know they used arrowOS for example, but I applied the method with different rom.

I suggest you to try any other roms available for your device and not just lineage.
Try flashing multiple roms one by one and identify and rectify your errors.
And don't forget to read documentation provided by the wiki completely and also check out some vids on youtube(people on telegram would tell you to watch yt channel named "Munchy" because he has got this phone).
I wouldn't try and flash an old p9 lite. I remember when I had a p9 and tried to flash it it was a nightmare and was an unorthodox method. If you could grab an old Moto like the Moto g as that would be ideal for a practise flash.

I've never used Motorola before. Which G would be good to start gaining an experience?
I'll try to find a pre-owned one.
I'd go for a moto g 2nd or 3rd Gen. You can get them for peanuts on eBay and there is still development for them even now.
I recommend Moto G5.. pretty active community on xda, replacable battery and should be very cheap

Will it be possible to go with LineageOS 18.1 on such an old phone?

Yes that's the one. After having a quick look at the forums I don't think you'd get 18.1 on it. There is a micro g 17.1 rom that seems active.
Is this for practice or for use as well? If it's for using I'd probably go with the g5 for a few bucks extra as the Moto g is quite old but it's not a bad spare spare phone. I picked one up as a backup and I liked the feel of it (if your into small phones) . It reminded me of the first Moto X.
