I suppose there is no inbuilt App Lock in Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2.
Anybody using any App Lock from Play store? Does it work effectively on both screens?
Anybody?
Finger Security from Rick Clephas is really nice and seems to work just nicely as it kinda ignores all form factors and just adjusts if necessary.

Why would it not? You're aware of the outer screen being a regular screen and not a gimmick within its own confined environment?
But yes, like everything else, it works on the inside and outside.

This phone is the best in its price range in my country, but I have read some reviews and user opinions and found issues like :
-phone memory filling unnecessarily
-camera quality, focusing,over exposure
-mic quality
-restarting due to home screen wallpapers
-touch screen sensitivity
-wifi not stable
I dunno whether they are present in all phones or just some, so could u guys tell us the truth about those issues????
Thanks
The only issues I never noticed on my phone are restarts due to wallpapers and WiFi being unstable. Everything else happens with me.

Everything else ??? LOL,that's no biggie , i think the touch screen sensitivity problem comes from the fact that many owners of sony xperia l used to have sony xperia sola which has a super sensitive screen and they aren't used to the less sensitive screen of xperia l .
Well, any other issues other than those ???????

Don't have that problem but I heard that is due to cache which I'm cleaning nearly everyday.

Yee, have that too. You have to lower down a exposure otherwise your photo will get nearly white. It's only on 2.17 firmware, on 1.36 it was way better so Sony have to fix it.

I would only say touch sensitivity. Remember, it already has a screen protector so using another film sheet will reduce the sensitivity.

The Xperia L has a plastic protective layer over the screen. This is default and should not be removed. You may blame it partially for touch issues.
I have read that Xperia L has extra protection on its screen due to this company fitted transparent plastic cover.
The default plastic protective layer should not be confused with a phone screen's protector which is usually bought separately and saves scratches on screen.
I was using a normal protector which wasnot made for Xperia L and thus it wasnt perfect. However, yesterday I got a new screen protector which has improved the touch response drastically. I think it is matt finished / super clear material. It improved my multi touch issues even when I pinch in vertical direction

Can it be used right handed only without the inner portions of your hands activating something on the edge panel?

Yea I have never turn on the edge panel when I didn't want to.
So it works very well.
Also you can 180° the phone and use it with the edge on the other sode. There will be a virtual button at the bottom for home, back and app window.
Agreed. The guys at Samsung got this one right... it works pretty damn good in both hands.

Yes, it works extremely well. Like xile6 said, you can use it left handed with soft keys at the "bottom". This is one of the best Samsung devices I've ever used (I work in a telecom company and use 20+ various Samsung devices a day.)
Excellent to know guys, thank you.
Am I missing something or is Samsung missing something? It would seem to me ONE of the big advantage of the "edge" is to see your notifications when the phone is laying on the table or a flip case is closed. So is there a setting to have the actual edge light up with notifications when the screen is off? I can rub the edge of course and swipe the panels to get to the notification panel but I want it to actually scroll like the news feed panels do. But when the screen is off and me not touching it.

Have you tried Augmented Smartwatch Pro, in conjunction with the Augmented Edge app? Works very well.

What does augmented edge do by itself without the smartwatch app? When I open it is just a black screen with banner on the edge

It shows music track information by itself - anything else requires the Augmented SmartWatch Pro app - opening on the Android phone does nothing.

It only shows a black screen with optional information on the edge part, even with the paid app you mention. This is sort of similar to what you would want/expect, but not really.
First of all it does not work when you close the official Samsung Note Edge cover, because that shuts off the screen. A proper solution needs to be integrated in the OS, either by Samsung or a very capable developer.
Personally I could not get anything useful (to me) on the Edge screen through these apps so I used the Refund option.

Let me ask you this out of my own ignorance. Is the flip cover different than my covering the phone's sensor with a piece of cloth? Or does it have magnetic sensors?

It is magnetic. It is like any normal flipcover but leaves room to show the Edge-part of the screen.
Its purpose is somewhat diminished because closing it turns of the whole screen. You can only get the Edge-bar to show by swiping up-and-down it. I hope someone is able to show the clock or which music is playing when it is closed and charging. An oversight by Samsung if you ask me.
Ok thanks. If the flip cover does disable the screen, then I suppose no app would turn it on... yet. That said, the apps I mentioned work for me. The entire notifications are displayed on the edge.. I don't have the flip cover, but when the screen goes to sleep, an alert would display on the edge just as it would on the status bar.
Any chance this will work on my s6 edge?
I was wondering why text messages weren't lighting up on the edge screen with screen off..using Google Hangouts. I think Samsung has failed miserably on support like this or even dev support from their Samsung store.

Ummmm... I get time on my edge all the time, not just when I swipe on it. I'll do some research and see if I can get it to light up on notifications. Might actually get off me lazy arse and write an app for it

So I searched around and didn't find an exact answer so sorry if this has been asked/answered before. 6A with a Tocol glass screen cover. I was actually getting decent results prior to the Android 13 update but ever since the fingerprint reader is almost useless. I have deleted and relearned fingerprints multiple times both with and without increasing the screen sensitivity but nothing has worked. Has anyone tried the google approved screen covers and did they help?
It seems that most glass screen protectors work just okay for fingerprint in my experience. I have figured out that the trick seems to be setting it up right. The instructions indicate that you need to move you finger into various positions, but instead I have found that it is better to just use the finger position you typically will use but in varying degrees of pressure on the screen. I hope that makes sense....in other words it helps to put your finger on the screen lightly, then keep it in essentially the same position but press slightly harder several times.

Hmmm...that's an interesting idea. I'll have to give it a try, I've tried everything else. At some point I'll take the time to just remove my screen cover to see if it helps. Thanks!
I register my most used finger more than once and then some other fingers as well. For this phone, I registered my thumb twice (same thumb), index finger, and then another finger on my other hand.

[MODULE] Fingerprint Scanner Booster
Fingerprint Scanner Booster It does what the title says! It boosts Fingerprint sensor's responsiveness by prioritizing its process. If you use custom roms and those roms have a little delay with unlocking the device using the fingerprint...

I've been using an old generic matte PET screen protector designed for an older pixel phone without any problems, so i don't think you need to get an "approved" one. I didn't increase sensitivity setting either.
6a's fingerprint reader works consistently for me, except maybe a rare misread every few months because my finger was very dry or something. In those instances, I unlock successfully with my other registered finger.
Hi all,
I'm just setting up my new mi mix 2. How do I go about adding apps to the main app tray at the bottom of the screen, I'm looking to add Google messages, and Samsung browser.

Such a great device! Didn't take long to get set up how i wanted. Typing on the front screen is a joy compared to the Fold 4, and the inner screen is fantastic. I love, how it just feels like the S21 ultra I had to hold.

Yeah, every other foldable has a better outer screen experience than the Fold series... Hopefully, they fix that with the Fold 5 as dealing with Chinese only Android phones is getting old very fast...
Fingers crossed! I'm also interested to see how the pixel fold looks (if it arrives)

I was also excited about the Pixel Fold but it appears to be more of a Surface Duo form factor with a quite wide outer screen and smaller than ours inner one. On the bright side, once the Pixel Fold is released, someone will surely port its software to every other foldable out there including the Mix Fold 2.
