Is anyone using custom pointers for there S pen with pentastic? If so what is your pointer? I'm using a simple cross hair.
tried it. didn't like any. back to default
Made my own pointer
I'm using a version of the bandofbrothers picture.
I'm loving the light saber noise when I retract and insert the s pen too

How do you get that sound on to the phone?
Thanks
Go to zedge.com and download the light saber sound you like.
Once downloaded go into your myfiles.
In downloaded will be the light saber sound.
Long press on it and choose 'Move'
Come out of downloads and into internal storage and into sounds and press the 'Move Here' option at the bottom of the screen.
Go into pentastic and choose custom sounds for the s pen and it'll throw up a list of available sounds to which your light saber or sound of choice will be there.
I found it

I found that there's a little LED at the earpiece of touch pro. Mine never flashes for wi-fi, bluetooth or miss call etc which my old polaris do. Is it a problem of my phone?
that is not a led, but the light sensor.
yes, that is the light sensor. the thing that flashes for messages etc is the dpad
Is that a light sensor? I found out that there is a light sensor alike thing beside the front speaker. What is that then?
btw, i am just guessing. Been looking at TP for few days. Still not yet if i should drop my samsung i780 to get this...
It is your front camera for video calls. if you have P9 (or P10, can't remember) enabled, it will show up as an option in your camera option menu, that means you can actually use it as a camera.
To Enable 'Video Share': HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\Camera\P9 -> change the value "enabled" from 0 to 1

Does nobody ever read their manuals these days? Suprisingly its all explained on the first few pages, so you dont have to read it all. Manuals can also be found on the htc website - in case you have not purchased the phone yet.
On the back of the device, one "hole" is the camera, the second is a flash LED for taking pictures in low light conditions.

That that big rounded thing that i was referring to. I was referring to the squarish LED-like thing inside the same slot of the front speaker. It is on the left of the slot.
Anyhow, i just check the online manual, it seems like the bottom button is the reset button. I don not own any TP yet. Anyone can confirm?

Ummm, yes, the manual is always correct. It's not a button, but a little hole you press your stylus into to reset it. And yes, that photoresistor near the speaker is the light sensor, adjusts your backlight according to the amount of ambient light.

Sorry my bad
The light sensor is cool... it will brighten up should u be using the phone in the day with strong sunlight. Can be easily simulated by shining a torch at it and see the screen glow up and once u put the torch away, the lcd will dim itself...
in order for it to work u must go to the brightness setting and check auto adjust brightness.
Is there? Since I don't use video calling can it be used to take pictures?
ok nevermind I found the option.
Bro, please share..........
when you go into the camera app tap the screen to show the options, tap the gear wheel in the bottom right corner and in the menu that pops up tap the icon in the bottom left
Why
Ok, maybe you do not have a mirror at you but... why to take a lo quality pictures?? You can use the rear cam to take 3.2 mp, not vga...
yea but since I don't use the camera for video calling I can at least use it to look at myself
no icon for me in bottom left
so weird but i dont have an icon in the botom left its blank lol, i wonder if its the elite rom im using or something else? anyone have an idea mabey?

I agree . I use it also for that purpose when there is no mirror near. Last time I used it to see the blood all over my face when I hit my head to a traffic signs edge due to a lack of visibility caused by a way too big hood

perhaps you have bigger issues to deal with than tweaking your PDA.
I've been a long time user of the android camera app, touchwiz camera was downright amazing.
I recently flashed a cm10 based ROM and have been playing around with the camera and have some questions.
1. Do you need to tap the screen to focus every time you want to take a picture? My past cameras had the constant block of auto focus so you could just wait for the green and snap. Or does the tap focus only pertain to the spot you want to focus on?
2. Is there a macro mode?..perhaps this is 'flower' mode?
Finally...anyway to turn off the shutter sound other than silent mode? This ones not anything major I just figured I would ask. Thanks guys!

No, you don't need to tap the screen to focus every time. If you move around to different points in camera mode you'll see the screen zooming in and out to focus on the point in the center of the screen. I think the tap is to focus on a point off the center of the screen (taking a photo of someone while their not centered in the screen)
There is a macro mode. When you open the camera there's a settings button right next to the negative zoom slider. After that there's a 3 button settings right where you just clicked, and in there you'll find macro/burst, and all the other extras.
I haven't seen a shutter sound off option yet.
Thanks! I am still unable to find macro..I did find the burst shot which ranges from 5-20 shots. However I don't see macro listed. Maybe I'm just missing it. If you are able could you upload a screenshot of it please? Thanks again!

You're welcome. I can't make a screenshot whenever I try it says that my storage is in use (assuming because camera is open) but if you go into the settings like I described before... the 4th one down gives you "focus mode" that's set to continuous.. click on that to the right and you'll find macro in there.

The AOSP camera is definitely lacking compared to the TW one.
That being said here is an ongoing project to add more features to the AOSP camera in order to make it closer to TW:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1746611
I do miss the TW camera, but camera isn't a deal breaker for me to remain on TW... I see more benefits using aosp instead.
Thanks for the link, I'll be sure to bookmark it and check back periodically to see if there's improvements. I see in screenshots its able to store on extsdcard which is nice.
You can easily get rid of camera sounds renaming the sound files from CM -> media -> audio -> ui
just rename the camera files and video files with ending .bak and reboot your phone. After every update you have to do it again.
Hello,
When I open an app with grey background (like ES File Explorer), I can see black lines going from the bottom to the top of the screen (in horizontal mode). It's very hard on the eyes. It's across the whole screen, not just the left side. Android is up to date, too.
Does anyone else have this problem?
Have you turned off Asus Smart Back Light Adjuster? It's pants.

Yeah, it shows up even with it off. It's subtle enough not to show up on video, but it just makes your eyes very tired when reading. I think the display is just broken, gonna go back to the store tomorrow.
This drives me crazy, I just can't find how to do it.
Thanks!
The top left most icon in your camera is for flash. Press that and you get options accordingly
Thanks for the quick reply.
It's the first thing I tried, but that does not work. It changes le label on right from off to HBR, but no visible flash.

You can't use HDR with the Flash. I think this is down to HDR being designed for white balance (ie making the sky blue rather than white while maintaining colour accuracy on the object you're taking a photo of).
Flash wise, you have:
Off - It's off
On - It will flash when the photo is taken
Auto - Will choose when to use flash
Fill Light - Turns the flash on while using the camera app
Thanks for the comprehensive info.
