Little LED at the earpiece of touch pro - Touch Pro, Fuze General

I found that there's a little LED at the earpiece of touch pro. Mine never flashes for wi-fi, bluetooth or miss call etc which my old polaris do. Is it a problem of my phone?

that is not a led, but the light sensor.

yes, that is the light sensor. the thing that flashes for messages etc is the dpad

Is that a light sensor? I found out that there is a light sensor alike thing beside the front speaker. What is that then?
btw, i am just guessing. Been looking at TP for few days. Still not yet if i should drop my samsung i780 to get this...

It is your front camera for video calls. if you have P9 (or P10, can't remember) enabled, it will show up as an option in your camera option menu, that means you can actually use it as a camera.
To Enable 'Video Share': HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\Camera\P9 -> change the value "enabled" from 0 to 1

Does nobody ever read their manuals these days? Suprisingly its all explained on the first few pages, so you dont have to read it all. Manuals can also be found on the htc website - in case you have not purchased the phone yet.
On the back of the device, one "hole" is the camera, the second is a flash LED for taking pictures in low light conditions.

That that big rounded thing that i was referring to. I was referring to the squarish LED-like thing inside the same slot of the front speaker. It is on the left of the slot.
Anyhow, i just check the online manual, it seems like the bottom button is the reset button. I don not own any TP yet. Anyone can confirm?

Ummm, yes, the manual is always correct. It's not a button, but a little hole you press your stylus into to reset it. And yes, that photoresistor near the speaker is the light sensor, adjusts your backlight according to the amount of ambient light.

Sorry my bad

The light sensor is cool... it will brighten up should u be using the phone in the day with strong sunlight. Can be easily simulated by shining a torch at it and see the screen glow up and once u put the torch away, the lcd will dim itself...

in order for it to work u must go to the brightness setting and check auto adjust brightness.

Is there any way to take pictures with the front facing camera?

Is there? Since I don't use video calling can it be used to take pictures?
ok nevermind I found the option.
Bro, please share..........
when you go into the camera app tap the screen to show the options, tap the gear wheel in the bottom right corner and in the menu that pops up tap the icon in the bottom left
Why
Ok, maybe you do not have a mirror at you but... why to take a lo quality pictures?? You can use the rear cam to take 3.2 mp, not vga...
yea but since I don't use the camera for video calling I can at least use it to look at myself
no icon for me in bottom left
so weird but i dont have an icon in the botom left its blank lol, i wonder if its the elite rom im using or something else? anyone have an idea mabey?

I agree . I use it also for that purpose when there is no mirror near. Last time I used it to see the blood all over my face when I hit my head to a traffic signs edge due to a lack of visibility caused by a way too big hood

Any usefull Camera Application out there?

Taking photos with the TD2 sucks a**.
options like brightness oder ISO dont change anything. all the pictures look the same.
but especially when its dark id like to increase exposure time. or how about taking quickshots with focus to infinity instead of waiting to infinity for the autofocus to adjust?
is there any application able to do that?
edit: just saw this thread. missed it on first search. sry.
but still nothing new?
Hi laureus,
I don't know the settings about ISO or changing other things but i have extra camera capture modes, and i attached the cab for you.
The limitations are more down to the hardware in my opinion, no app is going to make much better pictures. In good light, with low ISO, the TD2 actually takes decent pictures (in my opinion again), as good as you have a right to expect from a phone/PPC.

This isn't going to happen. You can't preset such a cheap lens/focussing mech to infinity, it just hasn't got the accuracy to go back to the same place every time. Autofocus every time is unfortunately essential for sharp pictures.
I know its not exactly what he asked about . BUT
qik freeeking rox on the htc pure .. ive used it since my blackjack and i love it . if ya need a video streaming to web app .
thanks for your answers.

yeah, im quite happy with pictures taken in normal light situations. it is just when you get to the evening hours some more exposure time would be nice.
even my old nokia n70 could do that. why not the much newer td2?
well, you cant have it all.
What I'd like to see in a camera app is something that lets me flip it over and use the volume buttons as a camera switch. Perhaps, using the left button (volume down) to autofocus, and the right button to actually shoot the picture.

this can be done with key remapper.
i mapped the "back button" to shoot a picture when the camera is active. if camera is not active it still works as a back button.
Can you tell me how did you do this???I did not understand how it works.
dark photos
I too have the same problem of dark photos,
are also the owner of a diamon and photos in dim light is much better than the diamon2,
where you could change the registry for this problem?

black circle blinking around the front camera

Hi guys,
I have the Note 10 plus and my wife bought last week the note 10 lite.
The lite have a circle around blinking around the front camera and the plus don't have this.
I searched everywhere and din't find an answer about what is that....
Any help?!
Did you buy the 10 lite used? I have a 10lite with aod notify installed it shows a ring around camera for notifications. So if you bought it used maybe its installed. Other than that not sure. Camera also has a lighted ring when you switch between front camera and rear camera, but its white.

No. It's brand new.
And I have the AOD notify in my Note 10 plus.
It's like a sensor. And just happens with the screen on.
The animation around the front camera appears when you are set to face unlock.

same thing
Same situation here, it has nothing to do with face unlock or notification system, tried everything, always the same thing. Its like popping up around front camera every 5-6 seconds when on lock screen, and sometimes when scrolling through certain apps. Maybe some kind of camera-cut-out-pixels protection? Its an odd software behavior without any explanation from Samsung.
Maybe your smart stay is turned on, try to disable it under Motion and Gestures in the settings.
It appears during a video call too, and looks like a larger circle, like that one the other samsung products.
Also sry, for being off topic, i wanted to know how is your s pen working, because the nib of mine feels a little loose.
It is as @j.canlas mentioned. Smart Stay is tuned on, it checks if you are facing directly on the screen or not (to lock the display). I also kept on searching for what it was when the device was new to me, it bothered me a lot.
You can disable/enable it under Settings > Advanced Features > Motions and Gestures.

This is the correct explanation for the infrequent circle around the camera.

Question Bug with proximity sensor

Hi guys,
It often happens to me that screens shuts off when I try to click on top tier of screen, it's really annoying especially with full screen apps.
I recently put on screen protector film but I don't know if it's due to this.
Anyone has this problem ?
Many thanks.
Are you rooted and using [MOD][Xposed+Magisk][Pre-Release] AOSP Mods - System modifications for AOSP-based Android 12+'s option to double-tap the status bar to sleep? If so, it might be related to that setting. I was trying to reproduce a different bug, playing a full-screen landscape YouTube video and I found almost every time I tried to make the status bar appear and then drag it down, I accidentally shut the screen off.
Luckily for me, I rarely try to do something like that while in a full-screen landscape app, so I'm keeping that setting on.
If you're not rooted or not using that Magisk Module, then ignore this.
I'm not.
It happens even whith WhatsApp when I select a message in a conversation and try to click on delete icon located in top screen, screen shuts off.
Where is the promixity sensor ?

I'm not really sure. I just unlocked my P7P and ran my finger across the status bar, back and forth and I never found it.

Meanwhile, the cutout for the proximity sensor has been slightly tweaked again and is more to the right of the front-facing camera than last year’s Pro phone.

I have the same problem. TMobile Visual Voicemail has its delete button just below and to the right of the front camera and the screen turns off before I can delete the playing voicemail. I have to go back to the full list of voicemails and delete from there.

Question Led notification light

Howdy!
I am trying to set that when I receive a message, it will show a small notification light on the mobile, like I used to have on previous android, but cannot find any option for it...
Is it possible that a so modern phone does not have it?
Thanks

There's physically no led notification light anywhere on the phone that could light up.
You can search for apps on the Play Store that sort of try to imitate having one, but afaik none of them work reliably anymore.

"lackness"
I'm fairly sure that it's been dropped industry-wise for many many years now, much like the 3.5mm jack.
Ambient/Always-on-Display is sort of a replacement for having a notification light though, might want to look deeper into configuring it. I think there's also 3rd party apps that let you configure your AOD even further.

You can be right again, maybe I am old fashioned but I found it useful.
I initially deactivated the AOD for reducing distractions, but I can activate it again if this is only way to see notification without pushing power button to activate screen again

Don't get me wrong, I used to be an absolute sucker for an led notification light.
Keep in mind that AOD and Ambient Display aren't the same. AOD, as the name suggests, keeps the screen always on, whereas Ambient Display just wakes the screen whenever you receive a notification. I only have the latter turned on.

most phones now doesn't have big bezels not only 6a. so where will you put that notification light? the best you can do.. use a rom with an oldschool feature, that will blink flashlight for notification. like this..

There are actually several phones out that also don't have big bezels but there's a tiny notification led hidden behind/next to the earpiece. Common sense.
I use this app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jamworks.aodnotificationledlight
You can configure it so that it 'flashes' only a few times when a notification comes in. So far I haven't noticed any battery drain.

Already suggested but 1 more vote for HoleyLight.
Chainfire is a community member and respected dev and the app is pretty configurable. Should probably cover your needs nicely.
