As the title says, I immediately loose 5G once I enable the second sim. Once I disable it, 5G is back on. Too bad as I usually use one sim for calling and the other for data. Is there a fix?
BTW the 5G speed I get is around 600-700mb

I'm on T-Mobile and I've noticed my phone alternating between 5G and LTE at random intervals. Both 5G and LTE are at 4 bars and I'm stationary. It's not really an issue because I didn't get this phone for 5G and the connection isn't dropping when it switches. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Actually mine has shown 5g constantly since I got it. Even though it's not using 5g. Mine is fully converted to TMobile
Mine is doing the same..... it must depend on signal strength or something. What concerns me about it is that 5g and 5g mwav is suppose to have less issues with walls, so why are the phones not staying on 5g? something is causing the 5g signal to go in and out.... I noticed less of an issue outside than inside which would be normal I guess, but should not be an issue for Tmobile's 5g service.
I live in NYC and don't have this issue with my phone. Could it be a problem with your location/city?
Have you called t-mobile about it yet?
Maybe do a speed test when it switches to see if you get lower speeds on LTE, maybe that would show if it is really actually switching or just an icon issue as both have the same amount of bars.
How are y'all determining that you are actually connected to a 5G carrier ? For AT&T, they have put the 5G icon on the man screen for awhile so I was looking at the Mobile data network setting under SIM card status but have only seen LTE. Having said that, I have done speed test where I am getting 20ms latency and 60Mbps download speeds.
Here is where the old Nokia Field Test Mode would be useful.

Because, up were you have the bars that show how strong your signal is, it actually tells me when I am on 4G, 4G LTE or 5G, and at least one Tmob, do don't need a 5G enabled SIM, it should "Just work" if you have 5G service in your area and you are within range of a 5G equipt tower..... I also checked with apps like Open Signal and others to see what towers I am connecting to, etc.
5G download and upload speeds are crappy though....lol..... Should be broadband speeds and it is no were near that...
My Note 20 Ultra 5G with Exynos processor has a problem with the 5G connection. After a few seconds with full 5G reception, the connection on both SIM cards breaks down completely (no service) and then reconnects. This happens all the time unless I switch off 5G in the settings.
I have already received a new SIM card from my provider, but this did not solve the problem. It makes no difference if 5G is activated for SIM1 or SIM2. The SIM card works fine on my Galaxy S10 5G.
I put a video on Youtube, where you can see the problem. Unfortunately I cannot post the link here.
The ID for the YouTube video: 6cv-8es7o74
Does anyone else have the same problem?
I'm having the same issue, couldn't figure how to fix it yet. I'm on a N986B.
TMobile *T 5G converted to Global and updated to the newest OTA.
I purchased a dual SIM holder on EBAY and while the phone now does detect both SIM cards, it will not allow me to use either of them. Separately they work fine, but once I put both SIM cards in the phone, both mobile data and phone service will cut off and a warning will pop up saying SIM 2 not allowed. The SIM settings screen says both SIM are active bit i no longer have data or phone service.
With both cards inserted and one of them de-activated then the other will work. I am new to dual SIM usage. Is this normal behavior? Maybe since there is only one IMEI for both slots, could this be the reason both cannot work at the same time?
Yup, I believe you are correct. There is only 1 IMEI so effectively DSDS vs DSDA. Standby vs Active.
Question for you actually, I purchased a DS from Amazon and it did not slide in all the way. Both SIMs were recognized, but I didn't want to kill the IP rating. Is your purchase the same, if not, can you send me a link to the version you received. Looking to get a silver version for my Global T-Mobile Conversion.
Thanks
so I have the phone, I have a 5G plan, I have a 5G Sim, and I live in a 5G area, but I can't get the phone to connect to 5G. I've talked to tech support a couple times to get them to reconfigure on their end to where it should work but it still doesn't. we've triple checked the IMEI and it already comes up as a moto edge on their end too. curiously when looking in phone info (the old secret *#*#data#*#* menu) if I switch the radio to NR only (5g) I get no service, but then if I switch back to anything with LTE it will show the network as 5G for a split second before dropping to LTE. also the network icon on the status bar will also be 5G for a split second before going to LTE. I don't mean the stupid 5ge false advertising marketing crap they came up with, it's actually just straight 5G for that like 10th of a second. I've also tried playing with APNs and apparently the Samsung guys have figured out that you have to set an mnvo to enable 5G so I've been trying that but every time I do it the profile gets zapped immediately upon saving, and obviously the default one can't be edited. also on the default one it doesn't have that mnvo set no matter how many times I do a reset.
does anyone on here have 5G on at&t?
Hello, I need help
I have a US S22 Ultra. I unlocked all the 5G bands so I can use 5G Here in the Philippines. This was working for me for a few months now until an update broke it last week. Tried reformatting and flashing the firmware then redoing the instructions and it's still broken.
What's happening now is everytime it switches from 5G to LTE or vice versa both sims loses signal for 10-15s this happens multiple times a day and my battery depletes like crazy and my phone gets hot.
Attached a screenshot below of what it looks like when the signal drops. Using S22 Ultra SM-S908U1 (XAA) with one physical sim and one e sim
Thanks!
