1) Download Odin3 v3.13.1, Samsung USB Drivers , Download Latest TWRP.img.tar , Disable_forcedencryption patch,
2) Go to Settings App, Developer Options and enable OEM Unlock (If you don't see Developer Setings, go into About phone>Software info and tap "Build number" 10 times to show Developer Options menu).
3) Do a backup of all your important data and files in your phone.
4) Shutdown the phone. Once it's off, Power it On in Download Mode (Connect your phone to your PC, press and hold Power, Vol + and Vol - buttons together )
5) Open Odin3, go in Option section and untick "Auto-reboot". Once that click the "AP" button and select the TWRP tar you downloaded before, then press the "Start" button.
6) Once Odin3 finished to flash the recovery (you should see a "PASS" message), force reboot your phone (Press and hold Power and Vol - buttons together) and once the screen is off, press and hold Power and Vol + buttons together to boot in TWRP.
7) Once TWRP is booted you first need to decrypt your /data partition. To do so touch Wipe>Format Data ( you will lose all data ) and follow the instructions in screen.
8) Once it finished go back at the home screen and touch Reboot>Recovery. TWRP should be able to mount your data partition. Now flash the Disable_forcedencryption patch
9) You are done. Flash your favorite ROM.zip
Instructions from here were updated to be able to use twrp after Android 10 update.

Yes and doesnt it say there at the last line
Hi, this is just for switching from Stock Locked BL devices right? If previous instructions on the last post have been followed, then the .img from twrp.me can be flashed to recovery in already installed TWRP right? I have 3.3 installed so upgrading can be done from recovery itself, if I'm not wrong?

Yes update using twrp.img
Download twrp.img and flash as recovery but ROMs require you to be on ONEUI2.0

Howdy I have a older AT&T Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 GT-P5113 SGH-i497 Android 4.2.2
I followed the steps on forum thread Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 Development -->(ODIN + CWM 6 + ROOT + Stock) ATT / TMOBILE Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 {} {SGH-T779} by Childofthehorn
Well I made it through step 5, at least! (Odin displays green “Passed!”)
But the following steps:
6. Backup your existing image
7. Flash SuperSu from SDcard
8. WInning.
here's where I'm at:
(see attached)
strangely there is no button for attachment on the Editor Are attachments allowed on this forum? Peculiar!
Only choices on the Recovery screen are
reboot system now
apply update from ADB
apply update from external storage
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
apply update from cache
Don't know how to "back up your existing image"
or "Flash SuperSU from SDcard."
(but I do have the SuperSU apk on the SDcard though; do I select "apply update from external storage"?)
How do I know I have root? Odin said "Passed!" in green, but I'm not sure what that entails. -- I don't want to use any of those root checkers on Google Play because they all appear to ad-filled junk.*
Do I have CWM 6 by this process? How can I tell?
Is it possible to upgrade to KitKat? or is the P5113's processor not capable of it (or something else prevents having KitKat)
Not sure what I should do next.
Thanks everyone!
After Odin says Passed did you let the tab reboot to the ROM? If so the ROM probably replaced CWM with stock recovery (stock ROMs tend to do this), so what you need to do is flash the recovery again via Odin, but once it completes immediately reboot to recovery using the key combination, do not let the ROM boot. Once the recovery has loaded it should automatically disable the recovery replacement system in the ROM, and you'll be able to proceed to step 6.

Do you uncheck Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time? With those enabled all Odin said was Reset! in blue.
For the 3rd step:
Childofthehorn says:
3. Open Odin (as administrator) and hit the "PDA" button, remember to uncheck the reset
I assume he means F. Rest Time in the Odin options tab
Seems to reboot immediately after Odin finishes, happens too fast; there's no time to reboot into recovery mode with the power+vol.

Just follow what the instructions said, but uncheck Auto Reboot. Then, once Odin is done, force reboot the tab by holding both power and vol button down for about 10 secs (until it reboots), then release the power button while still holding the vol button.

Are you sure you aren't using CF Auto Root that isn't for a previous Security Patch? If you're using an up-to-date one then here's another way around it, but you will require a custom recovery first:
1) *Download the latest TWRP for your phone (I believe this one should be the one for you https://dl.twrp.me/herolte/twrp-3.0.2-4-herolte.img.html)
2) Flash the image through the 'AP' tab
3) Go onto the options of the Odin program and untick 'Auto-Reboot'
4) Hit start and it should take like a 1 min to flash through
5) Hold the Volume Down + Power + Home simultaneously
6) When the screen goes black or you see the Samsung Splash Screen, hold Vol Up + Home + Power and you should boot into custom recovery
7) Go onto 'Wipe' and 'Format Data'
8) You should still be able to transfer files to your phone while in recovery, so download the SuperSU zip onto your PC and move into SD card and flash it through
9) Download root checker to see if its all worked out
10) Let me know if you have any problems
*Make sure OEM Unlock is on*

i got the Recovery Is Not Seandroid Enforcing with this method. I was able to install recovery through the twrp app but something is not right, it seems that my storage is not mounted
Try flashing stock rom to get a fresh start. Then CF autoroot again. Back anything up you want to keep obviously.
If you are on Nougat cf auto root doesn't work you have to flash a custom recovery and then root using SR2 SuperSu or later the current lastest is SR3 I think my sm-g930f is Nougat but if you also are then there's no point in rooting because most things don't work like Lucky Patcher Xposed Macrodroid there are only the sound mods and titanium backup
I try to install twrp through odin but after the process is done it says in the recovery "no command" then go to the android recovery.
1. Download TWRP: https://eu.dl.twrp.me/zeroflte/
2. Start Odin as Admin
3. Boot Device into Download Mode
4. Connect your S6 to PC (Odin should show "Com 1" for example)
5. Click on "AP" and then choose twrp
6. Deactivate Auto reboot in odin
7. Flash it
8. When its done, hold Volume Down + power
9. Directly after screen goes black, make volume up + homebutton + Power
10. Now it should be flashed
thankyou

Root is not needed. You can download any rom, Noble Experience for example, and then you go into recovery. But make a nandroid backup. Then choose the rom, follow aroma installer instructions. After that, you can flash a custom kernel like noxx. For root, use Magisk. You can find everything here in xda
Root (as a Magisk) will be depends because that's will be at Stuck of Only Recovery anyway in without Magisk... - Beside of "Auto Reboot" or Not: Doesn't be have a difference.
Backup is require or not
Is there anyway to flash TWRP without ODIN or root , as I have no access to a PC?

and for root Just use magisk, it works on almost all smartphones and has much more features.
problems faced and solns found
1. During twrp flashing using odin, my stock recovery kept patching the twrp after reboots. So i couldn't install twrp succesfully. To fix this I unchecked "reboot" option in odin (thanks to another xda rooting guide)and switched off device manually after flashing. Then booted into recovery by pressing "home+vol up+power". this time stock rom was gone and twrp was there to welcome me.
2. i ended up in a bootloop after flashing the aforementioned superuser zip file. Instead i flashed BETA-SuperSU-v2.74-2-20160519174328.zip and fixed the bootloop.
Note- My device is Samsung Galaxy j200-G.

Crash Recovery for the Samsung Galaxy A20
1. Be Prepared
Most of us will suffer from a crash at some time. If you know how to fix it, you will have a lot less stress.
There are certain files you need to keep in readiness.
Always backup boot, data, system before you try any new ROM.
A. On your PC
- Firmware you downloaded from one of these sites
https://samfrew.com or https://www.samfirmware.net
or for a faster download: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-a20/how-to/a20-repair-firmware-t4066551
- recovery.tar you can download from here https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-a20/how-to/guide-quick-root-twrp-galaxy-a20-t4069423
B. On your A20 external sd
Don't keep any important files on your internal sd card. Keep backups on the external sd and on usb otg.
- Boot, data, system backup
- Disable_Dm-Verity_ForceEncrypt_08.18.2019.zip
or this one

2. Hold down both volume keys
3. Plug in computer
Bootlooping
1. Plug in to computer
2. Hold down both volume keys
For a difficult phone
1. Connect usb to computer but not to phone
2. Hold down all 3 keys
3. When it buzzes release power and quickly plug in usb to phone.
It might take a few times to get it right.
If it's REALLY BAD
1. Wait for the battery to completely run down and use normal method.
2. Soft Crash
This is when you get a bootloop.
Recover method
1. Reboot into TWRP( hold down all 3 keys and release vol down when it reboots)
2. Restore your backup.
3. Hard Crash
This is when you get red text along the top.
Recover method
1. Connect phone cord to PC
2. Reboot into download mode (Hold down all 3 keys
When the phone reboot release power key and plug in to computer at the same time
It may take a few times to get the timing right)
3. Flash each part of the firmware into its slot.
BL_20xxxxxxx.tar.md5 goes into the BL slot
AP_20xxxxxxx.tar.md5 goes into the AP slot
CP_20xxxxxxx.tar.md5 goes into the CP slot
HOME_CSC_xxxxxx.tar.md5 goes into the CSC slot
4. You might do a Factory data reset
5. Wait for the restart
6. Skip through a minimal setup
7. Activate developer mode
8. Allow usb debugging
9. Reboot into download mode
10. Flash recovery.tar in the AP slot

Crash Recovery for the Samsung Galaxy A20
1. Be Prepared
Most of us will suffer from a crash at some time. If you know how to fix it, you will have a lot less stress.
There are certain files you need to keep in readiness.
Always backup boot, data, system before you try any new ROM.
A. On your PC
- Firmware you downloaded from one of these sites
https://samfrew.com or https://www.samfirmware.net
or for a faster download: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-a20/how-to/a20-repair-firmware-t4066551
- recovery.tar you can download from here https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-a20/how-to/guide-quick-root-twrp-galaxy-a20-t4069423
B. On your A20 external sd
Don't keep any important files on your internal sd card. Keep backups on the external sd and on usb otg.
- Boot, data, system backup
- Disable_Dm-Verity_ForceEncrypt_08.18.2019.zip
or this one

To go to download mode
Normal method

Bootlooping

2. Hold down both volume keys
For a difficult phone
1. Connect usb to computer but not to phone

It might take a few times to get it right.
If it's REALLY BAD
1. Wait for the battery to completely run down and use normal method.
2. Soft Crash
This is when you get a bootloop.
Recover method
1. Reboot into TWRP( hold down all 3 keys and release vol down when it reboots)
2. Restore your backup.
3. Hard Crash
This is when you get red text along the top.
Recover method
1. Connect phone cord to PC
2. Reboot into download mode (Hold down all 3 keys
When the phone reboot release power key and plug in to computer at the same time
It may take a few times to get the timing right)
3. Flash each part of the firmware into its slot.
BL_20xxxxxxx.tar.md5 goes into the BL slot
AP_20xxxxxxx.tar.md5 goes into the AP slot
CP_20xxxxxxx.tar.md5 goes into the CP slot
HOME_CSC_xxxxxx.tar.md5 goes into the CSC slot
4. You might do a Factory data reset
5. Wait for the restart
6. Skip through a minimal setup
7. Activate developer mode
8. Allow usb debugging
