A question to developers: Do you plan to support this device? - Xiaomi Poco F2 Pro (Redmi K30 Pro) Questions & Ans

Hello!
First of all, I don't mean in any way to sound entitled or ungrateful, I love the custom ROM development community and I appreciate and support your work. That's why I'm asking this, because the amazing hardware of this device means nothing if it can't be paired with great software you make.
If you're a developer, are you planning to support this device, or should we look somewhere else if we want to enjoy custom ROMs and other custom software on our phones?
Again, huge thanks for all of your work and I hope I'm not coming off as rude, and if so, know that it's not my intention and I apologize.

[Q] Is it possible to install android on a phone that doesn't have it?

I know this question should be obvious but I am not a developer so I don't know for sure. I am wanting to get a lg 800g for my dad and put android on it. The os it has on it looks like android but it isn't. I was wondering if it would be possible to put android on it so the phone could be more compatible possibly.
The most likely answer is 'no'. The device doesn't appear to be nearly powerful enough to support Android. Even if it were, you'd need massive community support to port Android over, and it doesn't appear that that exists for this device.
To answer your subject-line question more generally, in the vast majority of cases, this is not possible. The rare exceptions usually involve devices that use derivatives of Android, like the Nook Color.
We have great android ports on our hp touchpad including cm7 and miui . I'd say this device definitely would not be easy, but hey, its android so you never know what magic will happen. I hope you are able to find a community of people willing to help you with that phone. Not sure what kind of experience you have, but why not see where you can get on a port for yourself and then ask some recognized developers what direction you need to head. If you paid, im sure a few devs would do it for you

Anyone have experience unlocking these phones

I was hoping someone out there could tell me how to root one of these phones and maybe even suggest some Custom ROMs. I hope the photo attaches properly.
Amazing how fast technology changes. I wonder how many members of XDA remember these phones.
Sorry don't hate, just thought lighten the mood & introduce myself. Yes I'm a noob and I promise to abide by the rules. I want to thank everyone who makes this site possible.
Thanks for you hard work!

why are excellent roms not getting support![request]

i have seen some excellent roms like resurrection remix paranoid pacman are not getting that much of development ,they are excellent roms i there by request developers to continue these projects if original developers are not getting tym (i would do it myself if i could) i am not asking for eta nor questioning their ability it is just that i "think" these good roms should get thier required amount of development .its a humble request for all developers of nexus 5 to support thesee roms because nexus 5 doesnt face any stability issues so it shouldnt b a difficult task (thats what i think i dont know if its easy or difficult ) again it is a request for all developers any my personal views on those roms so no offence
If the developers what to update them, they will. If they don't, they won't.
A lot of devs support many devices also. So patience is required.
Devs do this for fun, it's not a requirement that they do any updates, or even share their work.
As you hinted, if you can't wait, learn how to build them yourself. ?
You say this is a humble request but it's anything but humble. There is no requirement for any level of support nor should there be. The devs are giving their own time and resources.
Support from developers is not guaranteed on XDA, it is a hobby for most and there is no requirement for anyone to share their work.
This could be an opportune moment for someone else to step up and start to learn something for themselves and then help the community out.

Difference Between a 'Noobie' and a 'Newbie'

Hello everyone!
I usually see people refering new member as a 'noob'. They shout at new members like they should be gifted knowledge by God since their birth!
BUT, there's big difference between Noobs and New. I hope you'll understand my point of view.
Let me tell you difference as a definition:
●Noobies: These are those people who are either new or old to existing condition. But they never want to learn. They ask question like "I can't do this" instead of asking "How to do this?"
They are usually pain in the... and they are born to irritate developers. Because of them, thread gets some unnecessary posts. NO developer force any member to flash their ROM or Kernel. Developers love when people report bugs in their ROM but hey wait! There's two method of reporting (let's see two method by two examples):
1). Noobs: Useless ROM, doesn't support call recording feature.
Good members: Can you please add call recording feature in next build? Else ROM is perfect. Thank you.
2). Noobs: Why do you even make a ROM that doesn't support VoLTE? Please leave XDA. (!)
Good members: Hello, your ROM is so smooth. I have great experience so far. Just want to know if you can somehow add VoLTE in your next build. It's really a requirement in India. Thank you!
Till now, you can easily differentiate between Noobies and other members
●Newbies: These are totally new people who are new to existing condition but they always wants to gather information somehow. They always try first and search for info themselves rather than asking aimlessly.
Always remember, we were newbie too at first.
Differentiating is pretty hard here. But you've to make sure to NEVER act rudely with them. They are new, if they don't get support, they'll loose interest in Android and XDA.

Best you can do is that check their total post count on XDA.

I must say you did a good job differentiating between noob and newbies:laugh:
It would be much better/easier to suggest all the noob user's to use XDA's search plus feature

I really appreciate your feedback
Hello iam also a newbie I love XDA and it's support I flashed 2 costom roms and without any error thanks XDA

Development roms, I broaden the doubt in the thread, I appreciate your advice

Basically I want to learn how to port AOSP from the beginning, I know a few languages and I have flashed custom roms but now I want to learn to develop them, to be able to contribute and also not depend so much on the work of others. I thought I would read the official documentation of source.andoid.com, it seemed quite complete. Well the question is reluctant with this last.
It seems a good starting point? Is it unrealistic to want to start developing custom roms? It's possible?
Your comment means a lot to me!
Regards, |3eer.
