Hey !
Just received my regular zenfone 7.
Even if I won't keep it more than 7 days, I'll try it and will make a review on youtube (french language).
But, if you have any question for the phone, I'll try to answer you on Monday !
So, lets go !
How the battery life been in comparison to the zenfone 6? What kind of screen on time are you getting?
What carrier are you using it on?
Do you think it's worth upgrading to from the 6?
Sent from my ASUS_I01WDX using Tapatalk
How well does it work with Gcam? Are you able to access all 3 cameras?
Hows the photo quality on gcam compared to other phones( zp6 or other flagship)
Thanks in advance!
I'd really like to see some GCam samples too.

Battery life is a little bit disapointing considering I was most of the time on wifi. You can hope for around 5h+ of SOT. Not bad, but not 5000mah level. Zenfone 6 was better.
I'm on SFR (french carrier).
Stay with the 6.

Will test gcam this afternoon !
There's a LOT of GCam versions so perhaps try the ones compatible with the Zenfone 6? Link here https://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone-6-2019/themes/google-camera-mod-zenfone-6-t3965028
I'm curious if the flip module will work with GCam. If not, I'm sure GCam developers will make it work.
My review is live ! I put some GCAM sample just for you !

Wish I could understand Français! ? Thanks for doing the GCam. Photos look good, perhaps not amazing. Video looks great though, especially selfie! I see you have a OnePlus sticker in the background. I currently have a OnePlus 5 and GCam is great on it but my selfie cam is awful, the battery is starting to go bad after 3 years and the earpiece is breaking so I need an upgrade. I'm not a hardcore phone user, just want something with a near stock android, smooth performance, and to be able to take some good pictures easily (including selfies). I'm almost tempted to order the Zenfone now.... Or do you think the OP 8T could be a better option??

For the better price / Perf you can look at Oneplus 7(T) PRO or even Oneplus Nord
Lowlight video quality looks pretty bad from other samples I've seen. Do you have any to share? Also gcam lowlight videos?

I too have been a little underwhelmed with the battery life. Was expecting a lot out of 5000mah. I pretty much feel I'm getting the same as I did on the Xperia 1 ii, with that only have 4000mah. Certainly doesn't feel like I'm getting 25% extra anyways.
Though with that said, it's not bad and has improved I'd say.
I am currently using a Oneplus 7T Pro and planning on getting the Zenfone 7 Pro. My question is, will the Zenfone 7 Pro be a good upgrade over the OP 7T Pro?

I do not change phones very often. I have a redmi note 3 for about 3 years now, and I was looking for Mi 8 to launch in India for a possible upgrade. That's not likely to happen, and Redmi Note 7 is not likely to get launched in India for another month (at least). However, my phone has recently developed some issue which makes the display blank out randomly. Once blanked, it doesn't return for a few seconds (and sometimes for a few mins). Further, there is a constant earphone icon (without any earphones connected) which forces me to take all the calls on loudspeaker mode. This could be due to the recent fall (my phone has several scratches dents due to various falls from different heights), and that makes build quality an important consideration. Thus, I need to buy a new phone at the earliest.
A sale is going to start in a couple of days, which is offering Poco F1 (6/64) @ 19K and Redmi Note 6 Pro (4/64) @ 13K. I'm not much of a gamer. My primary phone usage include: browsing quora, and wi-fi hotspot from my 4G network. What I'm additionally looking for is good build quality, good battery life, and decent rear camera.
Based on the above requirement, and your experience, could you please recommend between Poco F1 and Redmi Note 6 Pro?
My two cents:
It depends on your budget and your expectations.
In my case, I bought the Redmi Note 6 Pro as a secondary phone, trying to keep the budget the lowest possible.
The battery life is amazing, the phone is snappy enough for my usage, Wi-Fi hotspot works great (in particular thanks to the Dual SIM, I have a specific SIM card specifically for data that I am tethering to my laptop), and games are okay in my standard (never playing more than 2048). Camera is decent in day light but not very good in low-light (heck its a 160€ phone!). It is also true that the 636 is starting to become old but it is still very much up to date.
The F1 is already a more flagship phone, with more ROM support and more popularity so I expect it to have support for a longer period of time from the community.
On the other side, the Note 6 Pro is starting to pick up now with more ROMs that can improve the user experience if you don't like MIUI.
Overall, if you have the budget for the F1 go for it, but if you don't feel like spending it the difference then the Note 6 Pro is also a very good choice

FlipKart kind of decided it for me. Bought RMN 6Pro @ 11,700/-, whereas the Poco could be had for 18,250/-. Somehow nearly 6.5k price difference (over 50%) didn't look just vis-a-vis my requirements. Although, if you can wait (I couldn't), 7 Pro may arrive in March.

In my experience, Asus phones are good initially, but somehow do not have as much longevity as Redmi (considering avg life span of 1.5 yrs for ASUS, and 2.5 yrs for MI among all my acquaintances) . MIUI updates are also more frequent, if you aren't looking for custom ROMs (I stopped using custom ROMs ever since MIUI). Also, haven't heard much good things about Max Pro's camera, though battery definitely looks impressive, and with some optimisations it should be able to provide at least 2 more hrs of SOT.
Hey there!
So I've always been a Xiaomi fan for the past 4 years, although I've been offered either a Vivo Nex S or the Meizu 16th for my Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S + 90€...
Wondering if such a deal is worth it, and if so for which?
I love them both due to the screens and on-screen fingerprint reader so just looking for a more "in-depth" opinion...
Cheers!
i can tell you i had mi mix 2s and i sold it to buy vivo nex s in which is arriving in 2 weeks
2 things i did to want this
the battery on mi mix2s with 5-7 hours SoT due to the 3400mah and LCD IPS screen.
and the selfie camera which i dont use that often but when i did it annoyed me having to up side down.
the only thing ill probably going to regret is the lack of support towards roms, root and other mods.
But we will have to see and wait for Funtouch OS to get better in time.
About Meizu 16th can't say for certain but a 3010mah battery doesn't look promising and the design is also something i don't like in comparison to the vivo nex.
So i say VivoNexS>MiMix2s>Meizu16th
A flagship without battery kife is nothing that's the reason y i dintt got s9 or so plus

I replaced my Mix2 with the NexS and I'm loving it. Don't know much about the Meizu but it certainly won't match the Nex in battery life.
Thanks guys! Vivo it is!
EDIT: just got offered a 6T for 130€ more. Is it worth or should I. Keep with the vivo? Also, regarding to Roms, how's funtouch compared to MIUI or even OxygenOS?

Despite what some might say Funtouch isn't all that bad, however OxygenOS for me is leaps and bounds better. However the Vivo Nex (international) is one very nice device, the battery life is just sublime, display also & camera's are very nice to......:good:

Coming directly from the Mix2 and MIUI I actually prefer Funtouch in many ways. I've never used Oxygen.
The Oneplus is a better known and more popular phone than the NexS but I don't think it's a better phone (especially with that horrible notch). I look at the NexS as a premium Oneplus since they're basically from the same stable but with a bigger full screen, battery, wow factor pop-up camera and exclusiveness. I think it's the most underrated phone of 2018.

Looking at what's been released so far for 2019, I don't really see any compelling reason to replace my Nex. It's that good and the new phones are just adopting what the Nex already has.
I'll use this post to ask something else. I'm getting a phone for a mate's birthday. Thinking about a Mi Mix 3 or an S9 Plus. I can get 'em both for the same price. Which should I take?

Hi, I decided to change my phone (LG G5) this year, because finally here are the notch-less phones.
I'm really interested by the oneplus 7 pro, the asus zenfone 6 doesn't seem better, but the Xiaomi Redmi k20 is coming soon.
With the same features, but seems smaller (I think that the oneplus is really too big for the one hand use)
But, mostly it's about the OS, miui or oxygen os ?
miui seems close to apple (no thank you) and oxygen close to android stock.
Do you think I should wait the redmi k20 announce ? (28 may) or it doesn't worth to wait ?
Thanks.

I haven't done full research into the k20 but if the question is between OxygenOS Vs MIUI and generally between how Xiaomi operates Vs OnePlus then I would say OnePlus every day of the week.
I have been personally interested in the Xiaomi Mi phones for a few years but I always see a lack of ROM development, the extended period of time it takes to get your bootloader unlocked, the adverts built into MIUI and the heavy customisation as really big negatives of Xiaomi.
The performance of the OnePlus 7 Pro is fantastic. If you use the GPU Profiling developer setting, even on 90hz 1440p, the phone hardly goes over the green line (or doesn't drop frames) on the stock kernel. Once we get custom kernels up and running from the likes of RenderBroken and Arter97, this thing will absolutely fly!
In terms of size I have smaller hands and I agree that you can't use this phone one handed all of the time. There are things you can do like swipe down for notifications that do help but it's still a two handed phone for some uses. Having said that, that's the way this industry is going so for mez I would need a phone with 5-5.5inch display with all screen display to be truely one handed (HTC 10 was the last phone I could use completely one handed and manage to reach everywhere on the phone without it being awkward).
My view is go for the 7 Pro and you won't regret it.

Yeah it seems nice, but I don't really care anymore as I already bought the OP7pro.
The redmi is still not announced in France, I think the redmi k20 is a little better on the hardware, but not the software.
And yes cheaper.
I'm happy with the OP7pro, except a little too much heavy but I don't regret, but it's nice for redmi, the market need flagships killer.

OEM skin is a main factor that you have to decide.
Oxygen OS is not perfect either. Killing app on background aggressively is something that oneplus doesn't want to fix. Echo voice on Snapchat Facebook messenger etc. Battery life is not great either.
One plus always !
OnePlus 7Pro for the win!

You can disable the ads and I am hoping because of the agressive pricing and bootloader unlock there will be tons of custom ROMs so software should not be an issue
I was so about to order the Oneplus 7 pro but now after the K20 pro launch I am having second thoughts.
Can someone please state all the reasons why I must buy OP7 pro over the K20 pro so that my faith in Oneplus is restored again

I just disagree about this point, the battery is awesome.
I charged it yesterday morning 100%, I used it a lot as a new phone a lot of config, but also videos à 100% brightness (screen at 90hz)
I only charge it during the car (watching video 100% too and low charging in car), not charging during the night, this morning I am at 61%.
And another good point, screen at 100%, videos, games, install apps etc.. and no heat.
This is the first time I don't need to charge a phone during my sleep.
Interested to see how well the K20 pro works with Oxygen OS flashed on it. Cheaper phone with OOS, that'll do nicely.
K20, it has a headphone jack, I won't feed tard companies that wants to force you to buy new headphones that are inferior to the ones with cable at this point.
I went for the 9t pro.. Flat screen, headphone jack and £300 cheaper for similar spec - 8gb/256gb model... A no brainer imo... No adware I can see and I use nova launcher anyway re GUI. Awesome. Would've liked regular software updates but for the price .....
I own the K20 pro before the OnePlus 7 pro,the display under sunlight it's like cheap oled screen the colour is bad, fingerprint doesn't recognize all the time if your finger is dirt or wet, the miui have a lot of bugs, the front camera capture the coverbord if you use the full body cover and is little annoying

the fingerprint is BAD on k20 pro
so ive been looking to move from my Pixel 3 to a oneplus and.
1- Size:im not into big phones, ive had big ones before and i dont want to go back:
the OP7 is a bit smaller, isnt any noticable on use, or is it just shorte ?
2-Notch:id rather had a teardrop than frankenstein (pop-up)
3- Screen style: straight bezzel is better than curved for me
many complain and i dont think im going to be into the curve
4-Warp charge: would be nice, but not having it aint the end of the world for me
5-Battery: the Non-Pro probably lasts a little more on its 3700 than the 4000 on the pro version taking into consideration the screen ?
6-Resolution and refresh rate: i know ill love it if i see it, but well i can let myself not get used to it, aint that a solution ?
7- MOST IMPORTANT is the camera.... i love my pixel 3 camera and im sad im "downgrading?" but is the OP7 even more of the downgrade from the OP7 pro when it comes to the main shooter if we forget about the wide angle ?
thanks a lot for your time, please weight in
main reason im leaving pixel is that it aint really supported in Norway, so i have problems sometime, no support for 4g calling and wifi-calling which i kinda a killer for me, because im a professional translator and need the call quality
the price difference of 200 euros between OP7 6gb 128gb and OP7P 8gb 256 is not much for me at all, but i just dont want a bigger more expensive phone that i dont really long for currently
If you can buy the op7 pro then go for it.Battery life is better on 7 mainly because of small screen and lower refresh rate and the main shooter performs the same as 7 pro.I personally use op7 and I don't have any complaints
In your case I would by the OP7 (non pro)
I was in the same situation before I bought the standard op7. I also doesn't like the bigger size and the elevator camera. And the curved display is also a con for me.
Camera quality is almost the same if you take normal pictures and nothing special.
Probably the OP7 would work out well...
Camera not great on OnePlus 7 or any other non 7 pro Oneplus,
Maybe go for a Mi 9T or K20 pro or indeed mi 9 which has teardrop notch but good camera,
I would personally get a 7 pro if I didn't already have a 6t.coincidently, I'm thinking of swapping my 6T for a Mi 9T for the greater number of features, better cameras and battery, though am hesitant because I do enjoy quick updates on Oneplus but am realizing a lot of updates are useless updates to weather and other Oneplus apps that you don't need

So you didn't have a OP7 and say camera is bad? Makes sense.
I switched from Mi9 to OP7 and I tell you Camera isn't better if you take standard pictures and nothing special. It's almost the same because the main sensor is the same. (48MP Sony IMX 586)

Believe it or not. OP7 Camera setup isn't the best, that's right but "better" always depends on point of view. It's not right if you say "OP7 is not great". That's absolutely bullsh.. You can take great Pictures even with one less lense.

Hi guys! Bought OnePlus 7 last week and have been playing with it for the past few days.
I have had my usage of flagships and budget phone, as my previous smartphones have been Galaxy S1, HTC One X, Motorola Droid RAZR, Xiaomi Mi3, Nexus 6P, Nokia 7 Plus and now OnePlus 7.
I was also very skeptical about the mixed reviews that this phone received for its camera and picture quality but after buying and using it for a brief time period, I am sure of one thing that it certainly is not "GOD level" aka Pixel Camera but the phone is pretty good for the price that is being offered.
Hi,
I was thinking of buying a oppo find x pro or a one plus 8 pro. I wanted to ask the people who has this phone about
how the camera is (front and back)
how battery life is on normal and heavy use
Does it get hot fast while playing games or other heavy usage.
How is the update policy of oppo is it reliable?
Finally does gcam work or not?
It's a bit much but sadly I can not test it in real life that much...
No one?
Just check the various sub forums on here
All your answers will be met.

Westage of money.
Oppo is a low price phone maker it fails to maintain high end smartphone users taste.
