You can't. It is always safe to unlock first.

No "stay awake" with face recognition after root

Hi guys,
after unlocking bootloader and rooting my Honor View 10
it seems that the phone does not keep itself awake
when i'm looking at it, like it used to do before rooting.
It was such a super helpful feature :crying:
Is this caused by rooting process,
and anyone else experiencing the same issue?
Thank you!

Hi thank you for your reply
I'm on BKL-L09 version 8.0.0.140(C432)
Rooted with Magisk via pretoriano80 custom TWRP
Faceunlock works just fine, very strange.
Any suggestion? Maybe try a factory reset?
In order to do so, how should I proceed being on Magisk and custom TWRP?
Thank you!

I suggest you to try this recovery https://forum.xda-developers.com/ho.../recovery-bkl-nocheck-recovery-flash-t3778085 and install the lastest fullOTA available on the Huawei Firmware Finder app
This should work

Thanks for the reply,
fortunately I had the official 141 update available (I was on 140)
So I ended up flashing the official recovery and just launched the full update from the settings.
Then reinstalled custom TWRP and Magisk and now all is working fine.
However will save and keep in mind the method you suggested for future reference, that would be perfect if no official updates are available for restoring.
Thanks again mate!

Hi Guys ..
Kindly, we need someone to show the steps to flash the stock OOS ROM through the TWRP as if you downloaded the ROM from OnePlus website, and tried to flash the package from TWRP you will face an updater error 255.
Thanks.

Unlock again now after flashing, that should resolve the error message which you are getting.

By the way, the android p version that you have flashed is a beta version and rather outdated. I'd suggest you to flash LineageOS as it is much more stable and functional.
