Android Auto failure on Android 10 - OnePlus 6 Questions & Answers

Does anyone have Android Auto running reliably on Android 10? Prior to upgrading, Android Auto would run just about perfect with my Jeep Cherokee. Occasionally I would have a glitch but 9 out of 10 times it just worked when running on Android 9. I've tried both 10.3.4 and now 10.3.5 and unfortunately it's the opposite now, 9 out of 10 times Android Auto fails to connect. I tried uninstalling AA, clearing cache but still no go. Been searching but can't seem to find a fix, but honestly don't actually see many folks talking about it either, thus wondering if it's something unique on my phone. Currently have the Oneplus 6, rooted with Magisk with only couple of modules (Google Dialer, MultiFunctionsPlus4 & Systemless Hosts). Any advice / tips would be welcome. Spend a lot of time in the car, thus would love to get this working reliably once again.

Locus application keeps crashing down randomly.

I am using Locus as map guide + for tracking my bike trips - with display off, in pocket.
Locus keeps crashing down recently. Starts normal, but for example after 30km+ crashes.
Icon on left upper corner gone, when starting Locus again, message "there is infinished recording..." and it connects by direct line from last recorded point.
It used to work well in past, but even on B535 = EMUI 3.1 Locus was crashing.
My setup: Honor 6, H60-L12, ROM B856, ROOTED
Locus is running as service (setup in application, should help keep running)
Locus has Ignore Batery Optimization Allowed.
ALL applications are Protected = all 95 apps are allowed to run after display off.
Power plan is Performance mode.
No additional batery optimization app.
As far as I know, there is nothing more in mobile setup to protect app more?
Anybody using Locus?
Any advice how to solve it?
Is it possible to set it as system app, to keep it running?
Same problem on L04 - b860 with locus, oruxmaps and Endomondo!
Can anybody help?
Thanks
Which version of EMUI / Android?
I was doing everyting possible in setup, discussing with Locus guys, nothing helped. But checking back, problems started with EMUI 3.1 / Android 5 and changed power management.
So, I am 2 days back on EMUI 3.0, Android 4.4.2
Testing Locus, today running already almost 7 hrs, interior and exterior = with gps dropouts, no problem.
I am going on bike later, test again. If any change, I'll update.
Only solution for me is rollback to EMUI 3.0
EDIT: NOT WORKING!
Test with Walking profile was OK.
But today, short MTB trip and Locus stoped again, on EMUI 3.0, B317
So, I am going to try old version Locus, if possible.
Otherwise, I am out of options, tested on EMUI 3.0, 3.1, 4.0, nothing works.
By the looks of it, it seems to be the app issue, as even after downgrading from 5.0 to 4.4 it didn't worked.
Yes, try an older version, it might help to confirm the issue.

Android Auto + Android 10 = broken ?

Hi guys,
my android auto (in a certified compatible car AA) it's fully broken from Oneplus Android 10 versions.
Tried the beta3, beta4, and "official" android 10, always same problems.
Connections in not stable, sometimes audio glitch and interface (of my car) forced to reboot.
Almost always, the buttons from above interface disappear (in every app, like spotify, maps, waze, etc...) becoming fully unusable.
The vocal commands works only with navigator and music, no more google assistance questions (like what's the weather tomorrow) --> This seems confirmed that is broken in google side.
Now, I'm trying to understand if it's fully broken android 10 + android auto (the system AA level, not anymore an app to be lauched) OR it's only with these oxygen's roms, still broken in some way.
Please, someone have real feedbacks to give me ? I'm very disappointed, thinking to go back to Android 9 just for this, but i will loose every update (included the security monthly fix) because OPO is supporting already just Android 10.
What can I do ?
Tried all the throubleshoot I've found around of course, like wipe cache, delete app, use "new" AA interface, cables, etc...
Car: Mazda CX3 (it seems that Mazda + OPO7Pro is the devil match)

What I've learned from this phone and Android auto is that if you have USB debugging enabled, Android Auto will give you the worst experience.... EVER!
If you have it off, o don't know what to tell you honestly. If its on, TURN IT OFF! I have a 2017 Chevy RS Cruze and have no issues except when I have debugging enabled

Thanks for the tip, but unfortunately it was one of the things I've tried... Disabled the usb debug and also fully disable the dev. Mode...
BUT, are you on android 10 ? Really it's stable to you ?
Guys, some more feedbacks ?
My opo7pro with latest stable 10.0.2 it's still unstable with android auto (mazda).
Main selector icon disappear (becoming unusable), random crash/reboot, audio glitch...
Ufff
I've had my op7p for about a week. I have a Kenwood dmx 905 with wireless Android auto. Phone came with Android 9. Had no problems connecting without using the USB cord. Did the local update to Android 10. Now it won't connect unless I use the USB cord. Then I can disconnect the cord and go wireless. I have to do this every time now. Want to know to go back to Android 9.

Got the same with OOS in my Mazda. Switched to custom ROM, no more issues.
I can confirm the debugging issue making AA go weird. If I have it enabled it has a spastic, if I disable it, AA works flawlessly.

man... I'm without hope
Really with custom's no problem at all ? I investigated more... I really think it's a problem also in Mazda side + OPO7Pro Android 10.
I didn't want this time go custom, I'm fully stock without root (for security reason etc...)
Ufff... very disappointed, 10.0.3 still has the same problem :crying:
Having huge problems with my 2016 Skoda Octavia Amundsen. I will try debugging mode off and report. Thx everybody.

PS. As AA is not supported in Finland yet, how can I edit the power saving option of this App?

Android 10

deleted. need to check more things for now. Sorry
Android 10 issues
Ever since i updated my A7 to Android 10 i'm having issues with it. First thing noticed is that internet speed decreased. Second is that i'm unable to connect to wifi with hidden SSID. Furthermore apps - and the phone itself - seem to be working significantly slower comparing to previous Android version. There is NO illegal software on the phone and it is regularly updated to the latest app releases and everything worked just fine & fast until the Android 10 update was done.
As i'm reading, same thing happened to users of other manufacturers phones after Android 10 update (for example Huawei).
Anyone else is experiencing samelike issues?
yes, everything you describe. Same here.
Im back to 9...
Does anyone having problem cannot change camera resolution?

GCam suddenly starts crashing after updating to Android 11

Hi, I have an OPPO Find X2 Pro and recently updated to Android 11.
Back in October, I downloaded GCam and got everything working with the aux lenses, without requiring root.
Last night, I updated to Android 11 and now the app crashes when opening.
I uninstalled and tried re-downloading various different GCam ports for Android 11. Some of them work fine initially, but every single one I've found will crash immediately once I enable the aux lenses settings.
Has anyone got a suggested version that works, or a possible fix?
Thanks.
I have the same problem, if you find a way to fix it you can help

Question Android 12 & Apps

Just got update notification on op9 phone for android 12
Just wondering if anyone has android 12 and any issues etc with watch synch, notifications etc or anything
Have not updated phone yet
no issues on my note 20 ultra
My op9pro no issues
I read several articles about 12 being more buggy than previous releases. I have no experience with it yet. And I am not enthusiastic about losing Android Auto, which I use on the motorcycle and for which their replacement "solution" is not a solution (from what I surmise).
My months-old Samsung phone is still on 11 (because it is not an overpriced "flagship") and my old Samsung tablet is now stuck (permanently) on 10.
No issues with my flip 3.
