Dash cam software? - Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra Questions & Answers

Are there any quality dash cam apps out there? I was looking at putting blackvue cameras in my car, but maybe i can re-purpose the old phone and use the new phone when needed?

I did this same thing with my S20 Ultra once I got my Note20 Ultra.
I'm using Navmii AI Dashcam from the play store. It works pretty good but seems to freeze when I record sound with video. Probably user error. Here's a link :

This has good reviews. I haven't used it myself because my lease ended and had no reason to get a new car atm. Look up some YouTube reviews on it

I use sygic with the dashcam add on. GPS that is fairly reliable along with dashcam built in.

Take a look at Torque Pro.....

I don't use it for the dash cam feature, but rather for vehicle data/diagnostics from my OBD2 Bluetooth adapter. Nonetheless it has a dash cam feature included and you can customise the display with overlays of all sorts of data of your choosing.

I have Torque Pro and did not realize it can be used as a dashcam. Thank you

I've been using dailyroads voyager the free version since my note 8 and use it currently with my Note 20 ultra.

OP6 Stabilizer accessories

Hi,
Since a few days, I'm looking for a stabilizer for my OP6 suche this kind of thing :
https://www.amazon.fr/Stabilisateur-Smartphone-Poign%C3%A9e-Handheld-Stabilizer/dp/B07BJJ8LS6/ref=sr_1_11?s=photo&ie=UTF8&qid=1544769839&sr=1-11&refinements=p_72%3A437873031
Has anyone ever tried this kind of thing and mostly can give me information about the most effective application delivered with the stabiliser. Read that some doesn't work as well (BT disconnection or such things...)
Looking for something in mid range quality but I'd like the software to be as efficient as it can.
Hoping everything is clear due to the fact english is not my native language
Thanks for support
I never have heard of the one you sent but I'm using the DJI Osmo Mobile 2 and I'm really happy with it. I'd just not recommend using the DJI app for video recording

The button for the recording doesn't. But controlling the gimbal works as it is internally routed
I have that Zhiyun 4 gimbal. Overally it's very good. High quality design, it's handy. You have also tripod inside the box. You can move the camera vertically, in panorama. There are some other features like vertigo effect, zoom scroll (which seems to be laggy on Android - no problems on iOS), dedicated record button. You can't set 4k60fps though, you are limited to 30fps in dedicated app. Unfortunately dedicated app really sucks.
I also have that one and it's great. However I've replaced it with the Osmo Pocket, which does not make you look like a complete idiot and makes great videos.
If you choose this one, I advice you to buy Filmic Pro for the best quality videos. This Zhiyun zoom 4 (and also Osmo Mobile) is compliant with Food Pro, so all buttons work in that application. If you have the extra bucks, by the Osmo pocket....

IR Blaster - Code learning and finicky aiming

Hello!
I have recently apgraded to an F2 Pro and so far I'm in love. I upgraded from an LG V20. Both of these phones have an IR Blaster.
The V20 was able to scan/learn ir commands by pointing a remote at it's blaster. Can the F2 Pro do this hardware wise or just software limitation ? I have not found this option in any remote app so far.
The Poco also seems to have a weird blindspot? I usualy need to point it slightly up/down/left or right of the device for it to pick up the signal. Never had this problem on my V20. Might be just my unit though, that's why I'm asking.
You'd need an IR receiver to learn the ir commands, and the poco f2 doesn’t have a dedicated one. However the cameras on electronic devices are sensitive to light in the infrared spectrum, and you could use the regular cameras as a hardware fallback. The miui remote app doesn’t have this functionality, but it sounds great ! hopefully someone will make a third-party / opensource version !

Don't you need really high FPS to use camera to get usable info from camera as an it receiver? Do you know if any apps actually do that?
Its not possible. Yes, in Theory (and only y theory) a very high speed camera could doing some magic. In first instance, you will need a camera camera of 50000fps in the best case. And this is only de first problem.

Well that makes sense, I learned something today ! In that case I see how it would make things more difficult. I don’t know of any app that does this, sadly.

Thoughts On No Headphone jack?

Hey guys, I just saw the release of the Zenfone 7/7Pro and I was a little let down that it didn't have a headphone jack. I was wondering what are your thoughts, and if this will make you pull the trigger or stay with your current device?

I have Zenfone 6 and I will probably stay on it for quite a while because of no headphone jack and increase weight by 40 grams. I like what Asus have done here but I feel like I don't need an upgrade for now.
Aside from that. The camera seem to be an improvement especially with OIS. For camera2 info this is what I found
id 0 main back camera 16 mp (binned)
id 1 ultra wide front camera 6.5mp? (Possibly cropped from imx 363 for asus camera)
id 2 ultra wide back camera 12 mp
id 3 telephoto back camera 8 mp
id 4 ultra wide front camera 12 mp
id 5 telephoto front camera 8 mp
id 6 main back camera 64 mp (raw)
id 7 main front camera 64 mp (raw)
id 8 main back camera 16, 64 mp logical
id 9 main front camera 16, 64 mp logical

Thanks to Mishaal for the dump
This is pretty much my only complaint about the ZF7 - besides the price maybe. As I need a new phone I don't have much of an option at the moment. There is no other phone fulfilling all my requirements and I don't see any (soon) upcoming phone doing it...
- Big flat screen without punch hole
- Good ROM support
- Big battery
- Good camera
- Headphone jack
- Stereo speakers
I guess I have to get some wireless earbuds in the future, although I don't really want to... Another 200 bucks out the window. I thought if they are going to kill the jack they would also announce some earbuds.
I recently made the switch to wireless earbuds, so it's not that big of a deal for me personally. The only gripe I have with this phone is how big and heavy it is. 230g. Wish they would have kept the size and weight of the Zenfone 6.
Other than that it seems like a very good phone. Not sure about the main camera sensor (IMX686), as it's used by cheaper phones like the Pocophone F2. Also for some reason reviewers who got the phone early can't show pics taken with this phone ? Sounds like the camera software isn't fully polished yet. Can't think of other reasons...
It is not a problem for me, as I mainly use bluetooth headset. Using wired headset is a hassle for me. But I understand this is such a deal breaker for a lot of other. I don't quite understand why they can't simply just keep it to cover as much user as they can. Just like they already put dedicated microsd slot, why not just go full and make the near-perfect phone with headphone jack, which can satisfy a lot of users. The phone is quite thick enough already, so space seems not to be big problem.

I have a lot of wired headphones, so I purchased a small/cheap USB-C to 3.5mm DAC/adapter from Amazon called a Clipthat (silly name).
Honestly, the cheap Clipthat sounds better than the headphone jack on my ZF6. I currently have both a ZF6 and ZF7Pro, at least until I get everything transferred over and the ZF7Pro setup to my taste.
Not an issue for me. Switched to Bluetooth earbuds a while back and being wireless has been the best decison ever! Only every now and then not being able to plug my phone in somewhere for audio has been every so slightly problematic, but not a deal breaker for me at all
No headphone jack doesn't bother me. I have bluetooth in my car and wireless earbuds. I can't remember the last time I used the headphone jack on my zenfone 6.

No headphone jack is literally my only complaint for this phone.
Easy to unlock, rom support should be a breeze (Once it gets going). Super fast Full screen with no holes or notches, better selfie camera than any on the market. Microsd card support.
My friend bought a galaxy s20 and was very upset by the comparison of our geekbench scores since we both have the same SOC. Considering he paid $400 more for his phone and can't even use his hotspot without paying additional charges to his carrier.
Since my only downside I could find was the headphone jack, I went ahead and got the 7, and then bought a usb c to headphone adapter. I have not needed to plug my phone in during the day yet. At the end of my average day when I go to bed I am still around 15-20%.
This is pretty standard these days

Question Is it possible to replace the rear camera for 360 kit?

Hey,
Have anyone tried replacing the rear camera in the 360 kit for the FYT head unit?
I bought this set
https://de.aliexpress.com/item/1005002774505374.html
together with 8GB headunit. issue is I don't really have a good mounting point for the rear camera, so thinking about buying this:
https://de.aliexpress.com/item/1005003070357403.html
and soldering it to the rear cable.
Just to be clear I have the headunit, 360 ic and 360 cameras, I just want to use another rear view camera instead of the included one from the 360 kit since this would make the installation much easier.
This will not work.
It will only work if you ordered your unit with a 360-camera chip which then also comes with the correct connections.
No 360 chip, no 360 camera option.
@surfer63 Thanks for the reply, I think I might not have been clear enough, I bought the 360 together with the headunit, so I have the 360 ic. My question is more if it's possible to use another camera for the rear, instead of the included camera.

Also if the seller actually sent the 360 version....

An option for you: mount the 360 camera onto the car using the OEM camera mount. Most OEM basically use the same camera with a car specific mount. I successfully replace my toyota rear camera with the 360 with no damage.

Question Which Gimbal for Pixel 7 Pro?

Hello All,
I have been a pixel phone user for a few years now and have been using it quite a bit for armature photography. I am planning to start vlogs bit I don't want to invest heavily into any vlogging equipment as I am not sure if I will continue doing it long term. So I was planning to try my hand at vlogging using my Pixel 7 Pro and was looking to get a good working Gimbal that supports all features like switching between front and rear cameras etc., I have looked at all the major brands and it seemed like none of then fully support Pixel 7 Pro.
Do you have any recommendations for a gimbal that natively works the best for Pixel 7 Pro? If not, what is the next best gimbal option among the ones that partially support Pixel 7 Pro?
Thank you for your time.
I use the The DJI OM 4 with a magsafe case and a magsafe attachment with my 7Pro.
The issue with most clamps for gimbles and stands is the button locations on the 7, they are right in the middle where clamps been to be for stabilization.
This solution works perfectly for me

Thank you. But can I use features such as change front to rear camera, zoom while taking video, use various camera modes etc with Om 4?

Yes, there's both a trigger that has assignable functions and a thumb button on the handle that has assignable functions. It doesn't use the stock camera app, it uses its own camera in the app

I would get the newer OM6 though, as it has more features
