Hi,
Since a few days, I'm looking for a stabilizer for my OP6 suche this kind of thing :
https://www.amazon.fr/Stabilisateur-Smartphone-Poign%C3%A9e-Handheld-Stabilizer/dp/B07BJJ8LS6/ref=sr_1_11?s=photo&ie=UTF8&qid=1544769839&sr=1-11&refinements=p_72%3A437873031
Has anyone ever tried this kind of thing and mostly can give me information about the most effective application delivered with the stabiliser. Read that some doesn't work as well (BT disconnection or such things...)
Looking for something in mid range quality but I'd like the software to be as efficient as it can.
Hoping everything is clear due to the fact english is not my native language
Thanks for support
I never have heard of the one you sent but I'm using the DJI Osmo Mobile 2 and I'm really happy with it. I'd just not recommend using the DJI app for video recording

Ok thanks for the advice, maybe one more question, are the buttons of your DJII works with the OP6 cam app ?

The button for the recording doesn't. But controlling the gimbal works as it is internally routed
I have that Zhiyun 4 gimbal. Overally it's very good. High quality design, it's handy. You have also tripod inside the box. You can move the camera vertically, in panorama. There are some other features like vertigo effect, zoom scroll (which seems to be laggy on Android - no problems on iOS), dedicated record button. You can't set 4k60fps though, you are limited to 30fps in dedicated app. Unfortunately dedicated app really sucks.
I also have that one and it's great. However I've replaced it with the Osmo Pocket, which does not make you look like a complete idiot and makes great videos.
If you choose this one, I advice you to buy Filmic Pro for the best quality videos. This Zhiyun zoom 4 (and also Osmo Mobile) is compliant with Food Pro, so all buttons work in that application. If you have the extra bucks, by the Osmo pocket....

In a nutshell. Im gettting married next weekend and purchased an Olympus SZ-30MR camera to film in 1080p. But it's eating through the propiety batteries really fast and it takes hours to charge.
I was going to buy the Sensation after the honeymoon. But now im thinking of getting one this week to do most of the filming.
People who have one already can you test:
1. How long you can film without it stopping? Cameras limited to 29 mins.
2. How much filming can you do until battery is nearly flat?
3. Is quality any good?
Will be using a 32 gb card.
Big thanks in advance.

As far as I can see you're only limited by the size of your SD card. I just uploaded a quick test I did to youtube, it's probably still processing the higher quality versions. 30 second video is 38.6MB, 1920x1088 resolution (yes, 1088), 29fps.
It's definitely not the best video to check quality, but I was more interested in seeing the actual size of the videos created.
No clue on how much it drains battery as I've hardly used it so far

Can you check the bit rate of that clip you posted? And is that in mp4?
cheers..
10596kbps and it's 3gp format. Thought that was strange. I always associate 3gp with the very first phone cameras.
can you upload a video for audioplayback test please ?

Thanks mate. Did you check the settings for that? Maybe there are some options to switch between 3gp and mp4?
Not a fan of 3gp. Bit rate is on the lower side. How do you feel when you view the clips on TV/monitor?
No option to change file format. Seems to be 3gp for all quality settings.
While changing quality settings I did notice it tells you how much video you can take for each setting. I could do about 3 and a half hours on my 16GB, with about 15GB free space atm.
Video looks nice on my laptop (1080p screen) and a bit better on my TV (also 1080p) when I'm sat on the sofa of the other side of the room. It's obvious there's compression there, but it's better than what I was expecting for a phone camera, and I definitely don't see any need for a "real" camcorder as long as I have this. It's more than enough for any "home videos".
I would in no way use a mobile to film memorable things like a wedding as you will regret it.
Take a good look at the Sony Cybershot HX9 that records excellent 1080p video. Excellent image stabilization, video and sound quality. Excellent camera too!
Really don't even bother with any mobiles for things like that.

Yeah go borrow/rent a good camera/camcorder or even hire a wedding film person (make sure they don't run off with your money). Video on phones is only for convenience. If you can do MUCH better, why wouldn't you?

Oops. No the mobile will be for video on the honeymoon which doesnt require zoom. Im stuck with a couple of Olympus SZ-30MR now. The zoom is pretty awesome at 24x.

The Sensation video as far as I can see after looking at a few Sensation videos on You Tube is even at 1080p its similar to the Desire HD video recording capabilities with the whole 'going dark and light all the time as you move around' which is ok but in honesty you will get better from a good compact camera as mobile video in general the sound is quite tin like.
I would try and get most capturing done on your compact camera as its going to be better. Shame you cant get a Sony Cybershot HX9 as that is a frigging awesome compact camera for photos and HD video just come out as well.

Ok. In MY opinion it should be good enough. Since you have the good camera which eats through the battery like mad I have the following impression. You were planning on getting the Sensation either way so might as well get it now. You can use the Olympus for those WOW moments and then use the Sensation for those fun spontaneous moments (seems good enough for that in my opinion) so you don't have to be constantly be worrying about the proprietary batteries and their charge.
But like I said, that's MY take on it.

Just a note on sound, if the Sensation mic is as good as the HD2 I will be chuffed. Went to Ibiza last year and stood next to loud speakers filming, it didn't distort and can easily recreate the bass. Blown away by it not distorting.
Yeah new mobile should arrive today. Got a pretty mint deal to make it worthwhile.
Thanks for responses people.

Anyone used the Z3 at a gig yet?
My wife has the Z1C and she went to a gig a few weeks ago, when she got home she was devistated as the videos she took sounded awful, everything was distorted/clipped
Does the Z3 improve on this?
cheers

The Z3 does have various recording modes (for loud environments, normal environments, and another one). Haven't had the possibility to test it yet, but hope it helps indeed. Common problem with many phones including the Z1, Galaxy series, LG G2 (Lumia 920/930, HTC One and iPhone are exceptions).
If there is a proper way to test it without going to a concert I'd give it a try but living in a flat I can't really turn up the volume that loud

Standard is auto yeah, you can change it in the general settings. Settings -> sound settings -> microphone sensitivity.
So not in the camera app...
I tested it in auto mode recording one of my drum students playing along to loud music & it was absolutely on par with my htc one m7 & lumia 925. Stereo recording & good mics DO indeed make a difference!
Brilliant, thanks
Awesome, having a concert on the 27th so I'll be sure to give it a try there as well...
OK, just got back from seeing Bryan Adams at the Leeds Arena last night, I was on the 4th row so it was a good test for the camera
here's what I found:
there's slight clipping in the audio, however, after running it through Adobe Premiere, I found out that it's only in the right channel, the left is a brilliant recording so I removed the right and made it mono, turns out this mic on the camera is brilliant for audio at a concert, if you are happy to remove one of the channels
HOWEVER
the video is truly awful, it never focused (he had spotlights on him all the time so was well lit), tried 1080p & 4k, both were terrible, luckily I had a QX30 with me so I tried that for 30 seconds and that was fine so I have a little bit of video that's OK. Touching the screen to focus did nothing.
Conclusion: brilliant audio totally let down by the video making it unwatchable
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ceVN98kllNo
Hmmm, audio isn't too bad indeed (not great, but so much better compared to Z1 for example) but sucky about the focus issue... Gonna check it out myself as well. Going to a concert tomorrow so I'll see if I can shoot something there as well...
Thanks for the update!
Here's a clip I recorded last night with the Audio Recorder app.

WB Auto, EV 0
that's all I can change in 4K
In 1080p, try center metering & different focal settings - like object tracking, etc... Maybe you'll have better results? 4k is rather restricting re: settings.

I recorded it at 1080, automatic everything. I just set the microphone sensitivity at the lowest before I went and it is a good thing that I did because it was LOUD.
I have another video from the back of the venue. I am uploading it right now to share. The sound is even better but with the first one I was about 5 meters from the PA. Stay tuned!
Edit: The second video is here. Enjoy!

Cheers! Proper sound indeed, focus is still a bit off... Hard to test though (and you also don't want to be busy messing with your camera too much, you just want to enjoy of course )
Thanks, guys! About the focus: the light tech loooved using the blinders and flashing all the things (insert appropriate meme) so I am actually amazed at the focus there is. ☺
But as you said too, I was busier with drinking wine with my friends and headbanging than fiddling with the camera. ?
But folkmetal is an awesome test imo. Loud, lots of low and plenty of details in the mid and high.
I film and record a lot of music and I'm very pleased with my choice of phone!
Hey guys
since my wife broke her Note1 I was kind if happy to trade my N4 against a S8plus. But I am so disappointed with the camera which is one of the reason for me to spend so much money.
The raw is kind of ok.
But in+0 EV pictures are way too dark I think.
The jpg resolution seems awful with artifacts - I dont recall this from the Note 4.
What especially drives me crazy is that the app reduces the shutter speed in a way it is not possible to take sharp pics of stationary objects let alone moving ones. Its like only 20-30perc seem keepers.
Does anybody know how to force the app to not go beyond like 1/30h? If I use pro mode and set the shutter speed ISO looses automatic thus this mode is a joke. I cant set the ISO as well when shooting kids. The app also forgets the pro mode after closing it - so annoying.
I know I need to show examples but I just bought an office and dont have time atm. But maybe someone shares my dissappointment and maybe some guy/gal has a work around?

yes brother right anwser working properly""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""
So I used to have the samsung A71. And I go to Techno gigs alot and sometimes record a song I like to ID later. The sound quality was very good and bass did not get distorted alot, even when close to the speakers/subs. So I thought it would be the same on my S22 ultra but yesterday I went to a club and the sound is just horrible.. On a phone that costs 3x the amount. The sound is just distorted and bad.
But weirdly enough my instagram story is not distorted (filmed with the instagram camera) Anyone know why this could be?
EDIT: Proof and video reference.

Hey sorry, i've edited the post with links to the video's
Thanks, yes crazy bad, if it's confirmed, no finger above one of the mics ? Even on Instagram it's not really good, you have Snapdragon or Exynos ?
I've got multiple video's so no finger on the microphone. I use the Spigen Thin fit case.
I live in Belgium so I got Exynos. Model number is SM-S908B/DS
In 2 weeks i'll go to the same club again. I'll try some 3rd party camera apps like Open camera and Gcam.
Honestly in the first video the sound started to open up and get better at the 10 second mark right before the video ends. Maybe it was just a matter of where you were positioned at..

I don't think keeping my phone horizontally will have effect on the microphone quality.
And if you mean 'zoom in mic' I disabled this

No it doesn't affect mic quality but it makes videos unwatchable to most!
On a serious note to address overloading audio or AGC on very loud inputs this is bad as I haven't seen this for many generations of Samsung devices!
Try Pro Mode (video) where you have control over audio inputs, for example.

I understand but these video's are usually only for instagram (so has to be vertical) or to find a track ID so doesnt matter how it looks, only how it sound haha
I usually film horizontal when I want to show it

FYI these video's above are filmed with Oneplus 7 pro. and the quality is pretty okay. Might return to oneplus if that's still the case.
And for the pro mode, i'll add it to the list of things to try in 2 weeks. Thanks

Hello All,
I have been a pixel phone user for a few years now and have been using it quite a bit for armature photography. I am planning to start vlogs bit I don't want to invest heavily into any vlogging equipment as I am not sure if I will continue doing it long term. So I was planning to try my hand at vlogging using my Pixel 7 Pro and was looking to get a good working Gimbal that supports all features like switching between front and rear cameras etc., I have looked at all the major brands and it seemed like none of then fully support Pixel 7 Pro.
Do you have any recommendations for a gimbal that natively works the best for Pixel 7 Pro? If not, what is the next best gimbal option among the ones that partially support Pixel 7 Pro?
Thank you for your time.
I use the The DJI OM 4 with a magsafe case and a magsafe attachment with my 7Pro.
The issue with most clamps for gimbles and stands is the button locations on the 7, they are right in the middle where clamps been to be for stabilization.
This solution works perfectly for me

Yes, there's both a trigger that has assignable functions and a thumb button on the handle that has assignable functions. It doesn't use the stock camera app, it uses its own camera in the app
