i was wondering if anyone has modded they're phone to use the power mat or if they developed the case for it yet? i looked around and found nothings
I had mine working with a Palm Pre Touchstone but one of my soldered wires broke and I haven't bothered to fix it. I think I will though, it's so convenient, and I have 6 touchstones... The only downside is that it charges slowly.

i was thinking of grabbing that touchstone cover and pad but i was wondering if the cover still works for my powermat. and did you use the s2 tutorial on the tmobile s2 forums? and how slow is the charge?
I don't know if it will or will not work with the Powermat, I haven't tried it myself. As for how slow, I don't have exact numbers, it was more of a gut feeling.

So I fixed my Touchstone back and tested it out. If I use a 1A charger direct to the phone I get around 890-900 mAh charging rate, with the Touchstone I get around 485-490 mAh, so it's pretty much half as fast as without it. Overnight that shouldn't make a difference, depends on your usage pattern.

Never really liked power mat except for my xbox 360 controller. I would rather just use a cord.

I did something similar for my nexus 4 and want to to my wife's Skyrocket.
Did you buy that usb nub? or do you make it? I made mine, but as pictured it sticks out the bottom some (not my favorite)
https://plus.google.com/u/0/photos/...s/5879541927394065665?authkey=CNuurqiC6aaWjQE
I made it. I took a micro-usb cable, cut off the cable, removed the plastic coating, shortened it a bit, soldered on some wire, and then re-shaped it with Sugru (moldable silicone putty). I haven't used it in awhile though, one of the wires broke off the charging circuit and I haven't gotten around to fixing it yet.
Hey guys. I recently decided to get a QI charger because I don't always want to use my usb plug. My Galaxy Nexus broke because of the USB port problem, and I don't want a repeat.
Anyway, so I got mine from here:
http://www.tmart.com/Wireless-Recei...Cable-for-Samsung-S4-i9500-Black_p212500.html
I know it's for the Samsung S4, but it still works with the Nexus 4. You don't have to add that little blue battery thing in the picture; the Nexus 4 battery is already ready to go.
It looks like this:
So there's a red LED light that indicates it's working, and there's a second green LED light that turns on when it detects the phone on it. How? I don't know, it's the magic of science. It also makes a little beeping sound when you put it on, so it's easy to tell when it works. The charger itself is unbelievably light, giving the impression that it's hollow inside, which it probably is. It came with a usb cable and that battery adapter thingy, but I am use using a Samsung wallcharger with mine, and it works fine.
I have had weird issues with it. When I charge my phone without it's case on, it's unbelievably fast. It's almost as fast as AC charging it. When I have my case on though, it's a different story. It takes about a little longer than USB charging it. But I am not complaining, because my precious USB port on my phone is saved.
I think the science behind the second observation is because the QI charger charges inductively using a magnetic field. The force of magnetic fields in general is reversely proportional to distance squared (cm^2), so any tiny distance further away from the inductive field (in this case, the extra width of my leather case), decreases the force of the induction, thus increasing charge time.
Anyway, if you don't want the hassle of plugging in your device every night to charge, you can definitely use this QI charger.
thanks, ordered one just now
Tanks.

All I know is it takes less than 5 minutes to charge 20% (approx). I have it plugged into a lutron usb in wall combo usb plug. The cord is fast charging because when I used another cord the phone told me it was slow charging, I plugged the cord that came with it in again and it gave no warning.

This is the case I have on my HTC
FosmonĀ® HTC One M9 / Hima 2015 (DURA-FRO) Ultra Slim Flexible TPU Gel Case Cover - Fosmon Retail Packaging (Clear)
(sorry still under my 10 post thing, so couldn't post the link)
It has a little bit to spare as far as sitting in the holder goes. It works for me, I've had complements on it, although it *is* cheap, because it is clear it does not look cheap, it comes off easily and suits my purpose.
I simply use one of these with a QC2 charger plugged in. It is technically for the M8, but the M9 fits as well. It also has a removable insert to allow for a case as well. Search around, it was only $16 when I bought it.

The problem is that these docks have its own condensators etc. (lets say power supply) which normally don't let "pass" the voltage of QC2. QC2 goes up to 12 V, the normal docks allow only 5 V.
Are you sure you get QC2 voltage with this dock?

Why would they bother with that? It would cost more.
Out of curiosity I just cracked it open. Nothing but a wire connecting the female plug with the male plug. I haven't put it to the test lately but it would charge quicker than the standard charger when I was using it frequently.

Great to see, thanks a lot.
Maybe some do it to be sure that the phone gets the right voltage with a wrong or damaged power supply, or if the power supply is included there is more space in the dock. I don't know but had some that are only for 5 V (also stood at the power port).

Or it is required in Germany because on my search now most have the voltage of 5 V in the description.

I was browsing on Aliexpress.com than I found this Qi wireless charging receiver and charging Pad for Nexus 6P. I don't know if its good or not, or if it has Quick Charging function(probably not) or not. Just want to share it to everyone that's looking for something like this.
Thanks for this. But there is already a thread about this...

According to the page it outputs 5V at 1A, definitely not fast charging... but I really wouldn't expect that on something like this.
I used to have a similar style micro USB QI charger I used in the past and it worked fine on my Micro USB devices.
For me quick charging is more important to me than the convenience of wireless charging. Unless you plan to use wireless charging exclusively I find having to take off and put on the adapter often a hassle.
Still nice find for those that really want wireless charging.

Don't know if this is even possible, but it would be perfect if there was one of these qi receivers with USB C that had a kind of pass through USB C plug, so that you could have the qi receiver plugged into the phone, but still be able to plug in a USB C cable from the wall when you want the faster charger.

That wouldn't be possible without breaking the USB spec, and making it really bulky. These little qi receivers are easy to unplug, so that shouldn't be a big concern.

What about if you were to stick the qi receiver to the back of the phone and then put a case on over the phone and receiver, can you still unplug it fairly easily when you want to use the USB wall charger?

That's what I was implying rather than using a pass through. There's still a possibility the receiver will not work if directly touching the phone depending on how it's made, so once it can be confirmed working that should be fine.

Oh ok. I may go ahead and order one and give it a try. I just thought maybe with a case on over it, that the case may pinch the cable of the receiver and not allow you to be able to unplug it from the phones USB port without removing the case first (which would be a pain).

I might order one too since I have a plethora of wireless chargers for my S7 Edge. I'm hoping they made it correctly so it can be in direct contact with the phone (I.e. jts shielded correctly)
I have a bunch of chargers as well from my s6. So excited to get this and use them again.

OK so got mine today and works as advertised. Tonight will be the first night to test. It's slower that's for sure when it comes to charging. The nub that plugs in isn't too big, which is nice. Takes some getting used to.
If you got time on your hands and have a wireless charge handy all the times then I would recommend this. If you dont have time then stick with usb c charging ad it's faster.

Does it heat up at all? Would it be safe under a TPU case? I've ordered one along with a N6P so just waiting for the deliveries now.
Doesn't heat up, at least not that I have observed. I am using a tpu case. The fosmon cases and not an issue at all with charging.

I previously had a magnet attachment on my Google 6p case that attached to a vent mounted magnet. Now I need a completely different charger and I'm a bit lost. I looked at the iOttie charger on Amazon but I'd like some feedback before I jump in and order it.
I just got that iOttie, it works. Little fidgety on placement (I have a kickstand case). Also, will keep a slow charge.
Update. I gave up on it, even with no case you need to be a sniper to find the charging point. Without a case on, the metal tab for magentic mount won't stick to the p4 glass back
I have this one. Love it. It's fallen off twice in the last two years. Just have to clean the adhesive cup and where it goes and no problem.

Thank you but this doesn't appear to have wireless charging.
I have been using this for most of the past year on my Note 8.
https://www.scosche.com/magicmounttm-pro-charge
Has been able to keep up with running Nav and Spotify over bluetooth during daylight with screen on without issue. Sadly, Nav and the Uber or Lyft driver app during the day drop the charging to just holding it's own, thise apps are really power hungry it seems.
Never had an issue with the phone falling off other than SEVERE train tracks once.
I will update this once I get a chance to try it with my new Pixel, hopefully my case will be in tomorrow.
I've thought about going the wireless charging route but AA only weekend when plugged in.

I have been using Iotti Wireless Charger for a long time and never had any issues with it. I do use a case, but honestly, my case is somewhat minimal. (Ringke Crystal Fusion) it offers great protection, but doesn't get in the way of the wireless charger at all.
for what it's worth, I have tried other Wireless Charging Car Phone Holders - and honestly I hate the ones that have the electronic opening and closing to hold the phone. It's kind of cool - but totally impractical. The Ignition has to be on in order to open or close it - = just accidentally brush it and the phone falls out of the holder - I thought I would like it - ordered and then quickly returned for a refund because it just wasn't as reliable as the IOTTI I use.
The iOttie Easy One Touch model HLCRIO143 is their only model compatible with Pixel fast charging (same one the Google store sells). It works just as fast as the Google standing charger and even has "Made for Pixel" on the box. My only issue is it makes my phone overheat by about 10 degrees more than the plug in fast charger. My three Pixel stands stay cool. When it overheats the phone will either not charge or charge very slowly at most. It's going back to Best Buy and I'll continue searching for another one.

Just putting it out there but if you're using GPS and music while driving and charging, that might be the reason it's getting hotter compared to with the Pixel Stand. For me in the Florida sun and heat, I use a CD slot mount and point one of the AC vents at my wired charging phone.
Sent from my Pixel 4 XL using Tapatalk
I can confirm this charges rapidly (13.2w). Heat is not an issue for me.

I bought this one and it works great. According to ampere it's charging faster than my Pixel stand. It's also USB type C.
Edit: you will need a suitable power adapter to get the full benefit. I had a QC 3.0 car adapter lying around.

I use magnet mount. took a couple weeks to get it, but I love it. fast charging, never falls off. https://themagnetmount.com/collections/products/products/wireless-charging-mount
I bought this one first
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07SCLNV9B/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Typically drops to 20-25 on sale plus sometimes there will be a 3 dollar off coupon.
I paired it with my QC car charger and it consistently stays at 13.2 W of charging according to inware. It got hot and stopped charging the phone but I believe it's because i didn't have it aligned properly. The phone rest setting for 6.3" screen is not right for the pixel 4 XL. I had to bring it up but now it's aligned and not overheating. It charges fast.
The 2nd one i got for the wife's car is this one.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07QNL3814/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
no matter what QC charger i use with it it only stays at 8.4 to 10w for charging and it's definitely not as fast as the one above but does charge the phone while i have gps running. I got it on sale for 15 bucks. There was a clip for 10 dollar off coupon at the time of purchase.
I may wait for the first one to go on sale again to replace my 2nd one and then regift the 2nd one to someone who has an iphone since it charges those phones quicker than my pixel.

I'm using an Anker qc car charger if that helps and see 13.2 in the inware app. I'll try and get a picture of the car charger when I get a chance. It charges really fast. So much that at times I try my too use the charger all the time as sometimes on a drive home from work it'll go from 65% to 93%. I'm afraid it will wear down my battery. Luckily my car has a spot that I can just rest my phone. It covers up the display but not like I use the in car nav anymore.
