The model number dictates which SoC it is. N9860 is SD and N986B is Exynos.

Why would anyone buy from them .... really.
They may be cheap but you've got potential import taxes and costs, terrible customer service and no warranty.
Avoid like the plague.

They're not actually too bad, bought from them a couple of times in the past. They're a bit different in that they actually cover all import costs (at least to the UK). Additionally My Note 5 bought from them back in the day developed a fault with the display after around 7 months and they replaced it no problems at all. Just took a bit of time to process (around 2 weeks until I had the replacement device).

I check and it's true... the bastards doesn't say wich version is [emoji1787] but Wondamobile sell the same price, and T-dimension.com cheaper... so maybe try one of this

As I read so Wondermobile has HK version of N20U SD which has a many limitations i.e. not working VoLTE and Samsung Pay, missing eSIM support, (maybe some missing 5G bands ?).

They have the Korean version too... yes no voLTE (snapdragon in Europe you never get voLTE... operators just recognize exynos version), no e-sim and no samsungpay, since in Europe in don't need nothing of this, it's perfect. 5g works perfect.
And they sell the 512gb version by the price others sell the 256gb in my country [emoji1787][emoji2357]

So maybe it depends on the carrier, my s9+ the first months I had no voLTE on Swisscom, after I get voLTE working without doing anything.
I don't understand the drama about voLTE, I live good without, and don't feel any difference with [emoji38]
Samsung pay i never get it to work but o just try one time, because the app of my bank does the job perfect.

Actually, in my country India, there are 4 operators. 3 of which have volte feature. Out of these 3, Jio carrier rely only on volte. If phone has no volte, then we can't do or receive calls and sms with Jio sim. Only data is usable.
So, Volte is mandatory here.

Maybe if you give the phone data they can activate it, I don't know... here in Switzerland voLTE is more like a plus to have.

LEO-DLXX model question

Hi,
I'm planning on purchasing a Huawei watch 2 however here in Australia they all seem to be grey imports and they all seem to be the LEO-DLXX model / version of the watch.
I guess my question is will I be able to use the watch with Google Play, receive OTA updates etc with this model without any problems?
I've read issues related to the chinese version of the Huawei watch 2 and wanted to make sure I didn't run into any issues.
Thanks
That is the model number of my 4G watch and I bought it in the UK from Watch Hut. Mine is not a grey import.
I got mine LEO-DXX unlocked from operator in central Europe. I don´t think this version is "GREY"
I have one of these too, it is I guess the generic (so for Central Europe mainly) 4G aka LTE model.
It does a great job. PlayStore and everything is genuine.
It is so generic that even thought I got it from a Hungarian provider it only has English language. (along with a few other languages)
I encourage you to get one of these. I think Amazon UK sells this too. (it was on sale in the US I understood the other day)
What is the difference between the Leo-DLXX and the Leo-DLXXU ?
Leo-DLXX. Huawei Watch 2 4G Sport (nano sim)
Leo-DLXXU. Huawei Watch 2 Pro (esim)
Hi. I have a Huawei Watch 2 LEO-DLXX. Can I activate the eSIM feature?
Anyone had success with this watch in the US? My att sim doesn't work but I will try T-mobile later today.

No, It doesn't support Esim

@jobrima: I've checked the kernel how eSim / SIM is supported. The firmware is same, there is a difference in pull up/pull down on one gpio from CPU and probably eUICC chip soldered instead of SIM card slot.
ROM is same. There is a difference in the hardware, as I mentioned in my earlier post. It would be great if somebody who has version with eSim can take some photos of PCB. Or maybe somebody have schemas?

First Mi Device

I'm curious as to how this all works for the US. Just making sure I got things accurate here.
1. Chinese version = no Google, International version = Google?
2. International Version launches how much later than initial Chinese models?
3. Looking at the bands, the 8/256 model supports band 13 (VZW). Is this still not the international model?
4. Best place to snag one?
5. International model recommended?
6. Anything else I need to know?
Lol thanks all!!!
1) if we follow the Mi Mix 2 and Mi Mix 2S hardware wise the international and Chinese version will be the same. Just the OS is different. Chinese version has indeed no Google apps. However they can be added using an app from Miui market or reflashed with global firmware
2) International should launch 8th Nov together with Xiaomi entering the UK
3) Like above, the models will probably be the same, for EU all importants bands are supported on the different variants
4) A true international model you get via international channels (Amazon etc). 'Global' devices bought in China are mostly Chinese versions flashed with global firmware
5) Personal preference, I'd say the one with the most bands (8GB)

I think the current aliexpress prices are pretty much the same as the global Amazon prices, but only time will tell. These xiaomi devices tend to drop quite a bit in price in the first months, I decided to wait until atleast the Chinese holidays like 11-11 or black Friday before ordering one.

I didn't see that with mix 1, then I again they were hard to come by, the s8+ dropped more in few months than the mix has in 2 year's, granted the s8+ has held up since, the more you pay the more you loose
Just bought as a new customer on aliexpress thru the Xiaomi Store. I paid 622 for the 8gb/ 128Gb version.
Hope it comes soon! I just could not wait any longer.

1) one of the tech websites had a notice that Xiaomi came the 8th to the UK and would launch their flagship MI mix 3 there, that would follow the same pattern as with the MI mix 2 in Spain last year. Of course they could also just launch their MI 8 flagship and thus the info is wrong.
2) for the Netherlands I only care about band 8 and 20, these are supported by both variants if I recall correctly
3) you'll have to be carefull with buying a global one in China, most are Chinese versions with a vendor rom.

Why though? People going through much trouble with importing foreign Snapdragon when exynos is almost as equal. Barely noticeable, if even.

I actually agree with this, and it even appears that the Exynos may have a couple of advantages over the Snapdragon - support for dual-SIM 5G and (supposedly) faster updates. That said, I am importing the Snapdragon HK SM-N9860 because I planned to import a dual-SIM model anyway (we only get single-SIM 128GB as the base model in Canada), and it has the Snapdragon, 256GB and Samsung Pay.
If I were in a country that had the 256GB Exynos dual-SIM, I would not hesitate to get that over importing the Snapdragon model, not least for the warranty coverage and access to Samsung service and support...
I ordered the 256gb, 12gb ram exynos and rooted it. Very happy than sd Canadian ones locked down lol

No 5G bands in Canada are compatible. LTE is fast enough for me. Maybe next year's model. The only compatible 5G phones were the Canadian models.

I played with exynos here in India for some time and it was getting really hot. Also, many users are reporting about worst battery life on exynos as compared to snapdragon one.
Moreover, exynos model in india is expensive. More than INR90000 but from nevermsp, i will get n9860 at less than INR80000

I am using it since a couple of weeks and I would say that its not so bad. Initially we play with the phone a lot more and also do demanding tasks. Battery life could be better but I get 5.5 hours of SOT time. A quick top up of half hour is more than enough to manage.

My guess would be carrier pressure, but then they're not an up and coming startup cellphone manufacturer so if Google and Apple can have ESIM enabled, they should do it as well.
Also they promised ESIM in future update for S20 USA model which has not yet happened with no explanation from Samsung.

It's carrier pressure, they did this to appease their major usa carrier clients. Whereas Apple stuck a middle finger at them. Oneplus eventually did the same and enabled dual sim functionality, but they are small fish in sales volume in the NA market compared to Samsung.
Unfortunately like you mentioned the s20 still hasn't got dual sim functionality and I very much doubt that they ever will. All eyes will be on the next generation S series for the NA market, in relation to their stance on this matter.

True, I hope with more people voicing their opinion regarding ESIM directly to Samsung, they'll change their stance.
We got them to do it to unlock bootloader a few years back at least for a few years that was going well so let's hope this will work...

importing a Qualcomm version to the Netherlands

Hi there,
Does any of you know a safe way ( online seller ) to import a Note 20 Ultra 5G ( snapdragon ) to the Netherlands. And if there's a "safe way" to do this would I run into trouble on the Dutch cellular network bands?
I'm from Belgium. I ordered the Note20 snapdragon from t-dimension. Received it 9days later without any additional import taxes. Phone works well on the Belgian bands.
So I guess NL is gonna be fine as well.
I'm in the UK and also bought from T-Dimension. This was my first purchase with them and everything went to plan, but it took nine calendar days from order on Monday to receipt on Wednesday the following week. Two days of delay were due to security checks, for me to provide proof of ID and address. Good price, even better now, and everything sealed and correct.
In the UK we have four primary network providers. Two of the networks make use of Band 32, which the N9860 does not include. It's a supplementary band and its omission is not critical, especially as the band does not appear to be deployed anywhere near me, rather in central London while I'm on the outskirts and don't venture into town.
Mostly everything works including Google Pay, VoLTE and VoWiFi. Garmin Pay expects a Hong Kong payment card to be registered, so that's effectively useless in Europe, but no consequence since Google Pay works and that's what I've used in the past.
Firmware updates are a bit behind schedule. Even late in November the phone only has October security updates. Not a showstopper, but perhaps a hint of limited priority for this model.
The big concern, if it matters to you, might be 5G support. At face value, judging from the band's in the spec, you would imagine 5G to be no problem. Many have found the Three network to be well supported by the phone in the UK, including me. Vodafone 5G looks a bit sketchy in my limited testing. I've seen the 5G symbol appear on the phone, but nPerf did not identify a 5G service from Vodafone, whereas it did for Three. Regarding 5G on EE I have only ever seen remarks that it does not work. I have seen no comments about 5G on O2 (well, maybe one, and it was a "No" I think).
You'll have to do your own research on bands for the Netherlands and see if the match is good enough for you.
