I'm a new user so I can't post image links, but I believe I am looking at the fastboot screen. There is a bright green START at the top and you can rotate to other options via the volume rockers.
Anyways, when I hit the power button on the "start" option, the "powered by android" logo pops up for a second then it goes right back to the fastboot screen. Same deal with recovery mode, same with "restart bootloader",only thing that works is the "power off" option.
I'm trying to root my device but i have the 5g sprint version, and the OEM option in developer settings is locked/greyed out. So people said to convert the phone into the international version which will then allow you to unlock the OEM option then allowing you to root. So I followed the steps, I saw the device pop up on the msm tool, i hit start, it finished downloading and went green. And now the phone is stuck like this.
Any advice?
Update: well now even when i hit the "power off option" it goes off then comes back to the boot screen, guess i have to leave it plugged in over night.

After following the steps you mentioned, did you unlock the bootloader? If so you can flash TWRP and get it back to stock.
Try holding V+ and PWR to switch off.

I just tried to put 10.0.2 global version on my phone and command promt said this:
"remote: Flashing is not allowed in Lock State"
update
Ok so I successfully unlocked the phone and installed android 10.02 global version on the phone, issue now is that its stuck on the boot screen. I just see the 5g sprint logo.
any ideas?

Get into stock recovery and wipe the phone. Power off and then hold PWR & VOL DWN.... you will lose all your data but it should boot after.

I tried this and it didn't work.
I'm trying to go back to stock: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-7-pro/how-to/sprint-msmdownloadtool-unbrick-t3989841
but the msm tool here is saying "waiting for device"

Hey guys! I just got a One X from AT&T bought on eBay, although I live in Europe.
I managed to unlock the bootloader by changing the CID to 1111111 etc. (how many 1's?) and it worked fine.
I then ran installed ClockworkMod Touch Recovery for the HTC One X through terminal and it was a success.
I rebooted by holding down the power and volume down, and attempted to boot into recovery. I got a white screen with the HTC logo, and red text underneath saying something like "do not use this without HTCs permission" or something of the sort. The phone then turned off.
NOW I'm trying to boot again into the bootloader (I think that's what it's called, but by turning it off and holding the volume down and power key) and it just doesn't work. I've tried a million times, with different variations of holding down the keys. What happens is the light on the touch keys at the bottom flashes a bunch of times, then it boots normally. Everything works on the phone otherwise.
I tried to do it via fastboot/terminal by issuing the command ./fastboot-mac reboot-bootloader but it just says "waiting for device..." even though it's connected.
Anyone had this problem and found a solution?
Recovery
Clockwork recovery is not supported on the evita. Download goo manager and you should be able TWRP from that. And then you can reboot into TWRP.
I think you flashed CWM for the international (Tegra3 quad core) One X. Install TWRP as previous poster recommended.
There is no version of CWM Touch Recovery that is supported for the AT&T One X. You flashed the international version. Fortunately, you can flash TWRP right over it inside Goo Manager.
Be thankful you didn't flash it inside ROM Manager or you could have bricked your phone. I've seen people do it in the past.

Thanks guys, and glad I didn't brick the phone!
I installed Goo Manager and installed OpenRecovery Script, and managed to attempt to go into recovery, but again got the white HTC screen and something about "development purposes only" in red text.
I think I'm really lost on this one, any help would be great, like a link to a tutorial?
in fastboot run this command "fastboot erase cache", then boot into recovery.

Don't be too concerned with the blah blah in red writing about development version etc. on the boot screen - you get that boot screen when you unlock the bootloader.

What did you do in recovery? Did you flash anything? Does the phone not boot up now?
Thanks guys for all your help. I guess know I technically know what to do to fix things, thanks to you. The only problem that after probably over 100 failed attempts I cannot boot into recovery. I tried all variations of holding the power and volume down button while restarting, rebooting, turning on/off or up/down sideways but it just boots normally every time.
This means I can't use fastboot etc. I guess unlocking the bootloader and voiding the warranty was for nothing
If you know another way to reboot into bootloader other than the hardware buttons method let me know!
Believe it or not, I think you are just performing the button presses incorrectly, if you can't access the bootloader. Bootloader is probably still intact, otherwise the phone would not be working at all.
1) In Settings>Power, make sure "fast boot" is not checked.
2) Then power the phone off fully, but holding the power button until the power menu comes up, and select "Power off". Wait a minute for the phone to power off completely.
3) Hold down the volume down rocker. DO NOT release it until I tell you to later.
4) Press the power button for 3 seconds, then release. DO NOT release the volume down rocker.
5) Once the white bootloader screen shows up, release the volume down rocker.
Alternately, you can do this:
a) With the phone powered on, hold the power button until the capacitive buttons flash (about 5 seconds).
b) The moment the screen goes black, hold down the volume down rocker, (again, DO NOT release it until the bootloader screen comes up) but release the power button.
The timing for this method is a little trickier, if you press the volume down rocker too late, it will boot normally (or safe mode), and too soon, and it just reduces the ringer volume and the phone stays on. But as long as you press and hold volume down the moment the screen goes black, it will work.
---------- Post added at 10:13 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:11 AM ----------
But also, I would still not recommend trying to boot into recovery until you have installed the TWRP recovery as mentioned previously on this thread, if you have not done so already. There is no CWM Touch Recovery for this phone, so I'm pretty certain you installed in improper recovery on the phone, and recovery will not function at all.
Alternatively, you can go into Goo Manager and select the "Reboot Recovery" option, which should get you into TWRP
Or from command prompt "adb reboot bootloader" so long as you open your prompt from your adb application folder.
Or alternatively skip the middle man: "adb reboot recovery"
I really think your problem lies with your button pressing -- follow instructions on the previous post and you should be home free.
Well I actually eventually managed it! I think the volume button was a bit stuck because it still takes a few tries to boot into bootloader, but eventually I managed it and am in the TWRP menu right now!
I did a little victory dance when it happened. Thanks again!
Update: I messed around with fastboot a bit more and managed to brick it entirely. It's stuck in a boot loop now -- it won't even power off -- and there's nothing I can do about it, so I just took it in to get it replaced.
Hey guys, I know this thread is very similar to others that have been posted, but I've already looked through them and haven't found anything that works for me yet.
My phone was already running rooted stock with TWRP for the recovery. I tried flashing CM10.2 but it was for the wrong model (I downloaded D802 but my phone is of course D801. Oops). Upon reboot, the LG splash screen appeared and then immediately went to a black screen saying
Code:
Fastboot mode started
udc_start()
When I attempt to turn the phone off it just reboots to that screen again. I am still able to use fastboot, and have tried wiping the phone and re-flashing TWRP. It doesn't throw any errors but I still can't actually boot into recovery. I can't use fastboot to flash a new ROM onto the phone though, since it doesn't like .zip archives apparently, and I can't find a .img file of a ROM anywhere.
When I try to use flashtool as described here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2541087 it says the device is not connected (probably because it's not in download mode?).
Any help would be much appreciated. All I need to do is get into recovery, it shouldn't be this hard.
That's the same error I got a few days ago when I mis-flashed a new recovery (oops. and be careful when you use 'dd', because a typo can nuke your recovery). I'd get that error message if I tried to boot into recovery, but if I just let the phone boot, it would boot fine. It was easy to fix, but that was because I just used Terminal Emulator to re-flash recovery.
Your best bet might be to go back to stock. Try this thread.

I'm not in a boot loop, as I can power off and it will stay off. But I am stuck at the Fastboot mode started screen (I can't get download mode to come up). When I do try to get into download mode it flashes for a second, but then goes back to the fastboot mode screen.
I'm hoping to find an image that I can use the fastboot flash recovery command with to re-write my recovery partition.
Any suggestions on where to find this image file? Or am I going down the wrong path?
Thanks,
Joseph

i cant boot at all, not into download mode, nor recovery,
got this too because i was installing a note3 rom to my d800, acciodentally of coarse. i managed to boot to twrp by doing the power and volume down technique. and from twrp i restored my recent backup
To anyone still stuck in this situation (reboot loop, no recovery etc):
- Unplug the phone from the USB cable
- Hold down the power until the phone turns off
- Wait a couple of minutes with the phone off
- Now hold power and volume down buttons
- When LG logo appears - release power and volume down and hold them again
- When you see a white screen with "reset to default instructions" -- do what it says, meaning pressing the power button a couple of times
THAT should work.

Not sure if you've tried this. To power off fully, press and hold the volume down and power buttons. Do not let go of the buttons. The phone should turn off and the LG logo should appear. Continue holding until after the LG logo disappears. The phone should be fully off and won't turn back on at this point. If you don't see the LG logo, just keep the buttons pressed for about 10-15 seconds and you should be fully powered off by then. You should be able to enter download mode from here (press and hold volume up button while plugging in USB from computer). If you are able to enter download mode, then use the LG mobile support tool in my thread and follow the instructions. This should flash the latest stock system to your phone. If that doesn't work, I have a link to an alternate method for flashing the latest stock system on your phone. Hope this helps.

Hi there...it was mere some hours after i got my new moto g...i installed next launcher and pressed "always" instead of "just once" as i pressed the home button. The phone restarted immidiately and is stuck at logo screen forever. Now i tried flashing stock rom through fast boot method but the process gets stuck at "waiting for device" at the first command. That might be because USB debugging is disabled and i can't enable it as the phone doesn't show up anything. i checked the drivers several times but didn't work out.

My device now boots to the android logo, says "orange state, this device has been unlocked and cant be trusted" and then shows battery charging screen and will not boot.
How can I boot it into recovery/bootloader so I can relock the bootloader?
I see that the MTK Preloader is avalable at boot via USB so is there a way to use that to boot it into fastboot or relock the bootloader?

Anyway to enter bootloader, connect your phone to your laptop, hold down the power button and the volume up button. After some seconds you should see a countdown. You can release the buttons when the countdown reaches 0
Does exactly the same thing, device wont turn on by holding power button when it is not connected to usb either. Are you ture this is a TA-1020?

Sorry, I don't use either of them
I did accidently disconnect the buttons when I took it apart earlier to disconnect the battery as it doesn't "boot in 5 seconds" like it says and holding down the power button does nothing and wont make it reboot.
The button combination does nothing. I will have to use SP Flash Tools to create a backup and see if I can manualy relock bootloader....
It seems to work now, locked bootloader and it seems to boot, currently stuck on "powered by android" logo, might be taking a while after supersu first boot? I'll check logs if it doesn't boot in the next 30 mins.

So basically your phone isn't starting up at all. Do you think you can put the buttons back together? Also one other thing, whenever my phone doesn't start up, 5 seconds holding the power button is usually not enough. I generally have to hold the power button and the volume up button and hold for 20 - it doesn't actually reach 20 but usually exceeds 10 seconds

Confirmed works. Also make sure to flash magisk!
I went through setup, enabled unlock bootloader, unlocked the bootloader, used `fastboot boot TWRP.img` in order to boot into twrp, I then flashed magisk and rebooted back to android.
After that I rebooted into bootloader and used `fastboot flash recovery TWRP.img`.
If you don't flash magisk and keep the bootloader unlocked then you wont get passed the "orange state".
If you don't flash magisk but flash recovery then you wont be able to get passed the "red state".
That is why I booted into TWRP and installed magisk before I actualy flashed anything.
I will create a guide later.
Hello, I recently came on a pixel phone to build and use lineageOS on. Upon rebuilding, I believe I performed adb sync wrong the device and damaged system. After that, my adb keys became unauthorized and I am unable to access the bootloader menu(I press power and volume, but phone boots into Bootloop). I tried the steps to get to bootloader menu, but the phone doesn't power completely off, and when I press the power button it gives me the launch screen saying press power to pause/continue boot, not allowing me to go into bootloader
My bootloop goes like this: Bootloader integrity screen(bootloader unlocked, cannot be verified) --> Google loading screen --> Android recovery. This shows 2 options with the message, "Can't load Android system. Your data may be corrupt. If you continue to get this message, you may need to perform a factory data reset and erase all user data stored on this device". The two options are to try again or data reset.
I press try again, and the same bootloop ensues, sometimes getting to lineage loading logo, but then back to the same recovery error regardless. If I press the buttons(power and vol up), to go into recovery, it just shows an android with a warning sign above it, giving a message saying "Error!" on the bottom. My adb on the computer shows as unauthorized, so I don't know how I can fix this. Google has said the warranty is expired and cannot do anything to help. Ideas to fix? Thanks for help in advance!

How can I completely shut off the device and restart it? And if system is messed up, will that leave my bootloader intact(I'm assuming so as boot is a different partition?)

If that fails to turn it off, try just holding power and volume down for 5 seconds, and if the screen flashes (goes off and then on) let go of the power button but keep holding volume down and hopefully it goes into Fastboot.
That should work unless you have a dodgy power or volume button. The bootloader is completely separate to the boot partition, and the fact that it's doing anything at all suggests that it's still functioning.
Only other option I can think of is trying ADB commands when it's in recovery mode, e.g. adb reboot bootloader. However, if you have the stock recovery, that may not work.

Thank You!!! It didn't work in the bootloop, so I had to let the phone drain its battery and shut itself off, then I was able to enter the bootloader and reinstall lineage. Thanks so much!

Is ur bootloader unlocked? If so, use twrp to perform a full wipe and install from twrp as well. Of you can't access trwp, and are in a bootloop, do the same thing I did: let the phone lose all it's battery, so it's outta the loop, connect the phone to a charger, then hold power and volume down. This should get you into bootloader mode where you can then use fastboot to flash twrp.
