First hours with the s7 Edge G935F

First couple of hours with the s7 edge
Got the phone today and boy do I love this thing!
Here are some notes of the first few hours with this phone.
Model:G935F
Browser: this is seriously faster then my browser on my desktop!( no joke)
Have the addblock fast app integrated and my God it is fast!
Camera: only took one pic so can't really tell yet but the focus is instant!
Performance: this is one fast phone! The apps install quickly and you you can actually use the phone will it's installing without any hiccups. The RAM is good, keeping atleast 15+ medium heavy apps open. Also see the benchmarks I did(attach)
Design: it doesn't feel any bigger than my x S6, Samsung really nails the screen to ratio on this one! It's quite slippery and do get allot of FP on it but overall a gorgeous phone!
Battery: got it with 50% left I'm down to 27% ATM. Can't really tell yet but by all the tasks I did from start my old S6 would have lost nearly 50% after setup and this did it on 17% so I'm more then happy from what I've seen so far.
SW: I actually got a force restart when trying to bring Netflix in to the edge tasker but worked after the restart, I also noticed that it some time stutters for a millisecond when typing (samsung keyboard)but nothing overly disturbing. Seems like the SW isen't there quite yet but since the phone technically isen't released yet I'll just wait and see how it turns out, it need a tune up imo and hopping for a day 1 OTA. Otherwise it's really fluid and without any serious frame drops. Really like the AOS and the edge feat.
Sound: it's louder than the S6 and there is also a built in EQ which is a good feat! I tend to get a little more width from my old s6 with Bluetooth to my speaker which is a plus.
I can also hear the voice of the person more clear with the s7 and the speaker seems a little louder from the ear grill.
Reception: seems good, have 1 stapel more than I got with my former S6 on the same place's.
Note! I did NOT close any apps when I did the benchmarks and I also ran them after each other and also direct after installing them, as you can see in sling shot I'm at a little high thermal from start but nothing serious IMO. I also tested the phone with power saving mode on with geek bench and guess what?! It is more powerfully with the PS mode on then the S6 is with it off
Ran : quadrant,geek bench, slingshot 3.1
Yeah got mine today too and I absolutely love it. Haven't had a chance to play with the camera much. Was particularly keen on using the raw/pro mode. But coming from an LG G4 it isn't as good software wise. The LG G4 really did feel like a pro camera with easy sliders for shutter etc whereas the s7e is a bit more fiddly. Small gripe I know! Loving it so far though.
One very low light pic of my puddycat :victory:
Focus is 5x as fast in low light than the s6. Very good lowlight performance!
Off-topic: Is that a maine coon?
Thanks for the reviews guys, i'm getting this phone in a few days!
I know everyone is excited with the new release but can we try and stop all the duplicate threads please, there is already one here

Question S22 Ultra compared to the Note20 Ultra

The advantages so far:
+5G reception and C-Band are noticeable improvements (Data speeds are 2-3x faster than the Note20 Ultra)
+Ability to run screen at full resolution and 120 Hz
+AMOLED uniformity MUCH better
+Speaker clarity is much improved
+The S-Pen glides across the screen much more smoothly.
+Minor, but the image stabilization on the camera doesn't rattle like the Note20 Ultra's did.
+Phone navigation is slightly faster and more responsive, though the Note20 Ultra was plenty fast.
Overall, it is a refinement of an already great phone. It fixes many of my gripes with its predecessor. The fact that the phone is heavier and is missing a MicroSD slot will take some adjustment but 512 GB should be plenty. If you're on Verizon and in a 5G C-Band area, you'll finally see a speed boost. I'll update if I find anything else worth noting.
Yes that 21grams actually makes a difference when your holding it, I didn't think much of it when looking at the specs before buying. But when holding the phone that weight is much more noticeable.
Overall i don't think its much of a upgrade, Exynos version here and i have noticed a horrible lag in comparison to my Note 20 Ultra.
I believe this is a OS issue and hoping an update will resolve it (It was present on my Note 20 ultra prior to the last OS update), but when first launching a game and playing for the first couple of minutes its laggy and eventually settles itself with some odd occasional stuttering throughout
This also happens in performance mode enabled on High, the only thing that is frustrating me at the moment.

Don't mean to sound rude when I say this but you have a exynos and he has a snapdragon. You can't really compare them right now. He doesn't have the stuttering and laggy issues that you have. So when you say not much of an upgrade he is not coming from the same space that you are. Hopefully the day one patch will get rid of your stuttering and lagging and then maybe you will say it is an upgrade also.

Not sure what you are on about buddy! I was talking about my personal experience.
"Overall I don't think"
I have the Note 20 ultra and the S22 Ultra. Freedom of speech of my own person experience.

I didn't think you where being rude, i just didn't get the point of your post, A topic was created comparing both devices, So i shared my own opinion on the two devices, as the S22 Ultra was the upgrade from my Note 20 Ultra. This is what this place is about, Discussions.
I was aware their device was Snapdragon given they are on the Verizon network, Mine is not and talking about the experience of the Exynos variant.
The camera especially with zoom is a huge difference, and if people wait another generation the trade on value on the n20u will be less than half of the current $600 trade in.
So you can spend that money now or spend that same money a tear from now.
Video editing also has crop and rotate correction now, image erase has both shadow and reflection removal, the more I'm exploring the phone the more improvements I'm finding.
My only nit right now is actually the improved s pen... it now has a grippy texture, so sliding it on and out isn't as smooth as the n20u.
my S22 Ultra compared to my Note 20U, I`m glad I did the trade in and up graded for the unlock version, the camera Zoom is crazy better than the Note 20U and I like the heavier weight reminds me of my S21 ultra which felt like a premium phone, for me everything works great and no issues for me.

On your N22 Ultra, when connected to the C Band, are you seeing the 5G UW icon or just 5G?
On the Verizon variant, I see 5G UW. No idea what an unlocked model would show.

Cool, I appreciate the insight! Looking forward to getting mine setup at some point today.

General inconsistent fps during video calls.

i have noticed some seriously low and distracting frames per second during video calls. When it begins to behave very choppy all i have to do is hit the software flip button or something to refresh camera. Once i do that then the fps will revert back to a more smooth 30fps or 60fps. but only for a for a few seconds then it reverts to the unbearable 15-20 fps video calls. I can replicate this issue across all video calling apps on the galaxy s22 ultra. my s21 has had this same exact bug since launch and samsung continues to ignore this. I dont understand how they could let this bug now come on to the s22 ultra as well. Ive gotten multiple s21 ultras replaced for this reason thinking i had a defective device but no its just samsung being extremely ghetto with software quality control. Cmon Samsung please optimize your stuff. I have to use a ipad from 2018 just to have a smooth video call and i think thats pretty rediculous.

Question Who switched from S21U to S22U?

Hello
Having an S21U exynos for a year now I am thinking to swap it with a S22U snapdragon (yes we are getting Snapdragon in Middle East at last)
Who "upgraded" from S21 Ultra to S22 Ultra?
Do you regret it?
-Do you feel the screen is bigger and better?
-Is it true the speakers are bad? (Flossy Carter review)
-The battery is as good as the s21 ultra or worst?
-Anyone tried a third party 45w charger? Would it be faster than the Samsung one?
-Can you finally enlarge the statusbar to get a bigger clock font?
I actually did the upgrade basically because the pre-order incentives made it close to a 1:1 swap for me and I wanted to have a stylus / note experience.
To give you some replies to your direct questions:
Don't regret it.
Screen is basically the same.
Speakers seem fine, but I don't use them very loudly, would use another media device or headphones for that.
Battery seems equal, but I'm not a heavy gamer where the power hungry tendencies of the chip may be felt.
Haven't tried 45W fast charge, I use slow charge overnight and don't need to top off during the day .
Have never thought to enlarge font on status bar, but I would imagine that would not be any ability put into a specific phone model. You'd be looking for Goodlock module or some other 3rd party app to do so.
Bottom line, I'm loving the phone, but I loved my s21 ultra too. If I had to pay a lot to upgrade I would not have - most upgrades are negligible and both phones are amazingly capable.
Note - had SD version of s21 Ultra, have SD version of s22 Ultra. Not sure if Exynos changes the equation for you at all.
It is not a justified jump, because I think s21u is a complete phone. S22 is slight better in ever aspect + S pen but is worst in ergonomics.

I have both Snapdragon US variantrs
-bigger better? Better YES, Bigger, a bit
-speakers are great and both sound identical and good
-battery is better than my s21u
-I have a baseus 65w gan2 pro and it works great!
-not sure with the last part tho
I have used both Snapdragon variants. The S21 Ultra has better speakers, is narrower to hold, and has a stronger vibrate motor. Other than that the S22 Ultra is the same.
They're not the same phone. S22U is basically a note ultra.
Camera is better, mainly video glitching with AF hunting is fixed. It's the closest to iphone 13 Pro max I've seen.
Speakers don't sound as rich, but Apple wins in this department. Their speakers are like the HTC One M7 days. Battery life is brutal at first but once things settle in it's acceptable. No 13 Pro Max (is any phone even close LOL) but workable. S-pen is back, Note users rejoice! Biggest of all is e-sim actually works out of the box with the unlocked version in the USA!
I went from S21U to Google Pixel 6 Pro (meh) and now S22U, and I love it. Selling my S21U and Google 6 Pro. The camera on the S22U is a BEAST. The 1TB storage is incredible. The speed is great and I have zero regrets. Remember: soooooo many people are negative online, believe about 5% of what most people say.
I did. I dont regret it at all.
Better all around camera, especially low light pics and vids, as well as zoom past 10x. Way less lens flare too.
Battery seems almost the same, possibly a lil better.
Screen is brighter and better. My brother is still using his S21U, we put them side to side to compare. Yes, screen feels bigger/larger. S Pen is great!
Thanks everyone
So the snapdragon version doesn't suffer from the lags some people reported elsewhere?
About the speakers, people who found them not as good as the s21u, did you mean the sound quality or loudness?
I didn't root my s21u but I would for my s22u if it needs some sound mods

I used the S21U for quite some time when it came out and now I[m on S22U, no regrets, like the form factor and design and SnapDragon is just sweet, no lags or issues on my part in more than a month. Sound is really good but then again, I'm mostly on headphones
Did they fix the built in earpiece speaker when using the phone to the ear and on a call it would exhibit distorted output if HD calling was not being used on the s21u.

Question S22 Ultra - Horrible audio capture on recording

Hello . I have a problem with my galaxy s22 ultra Snapdragon , the videos I record at rave or shows that have a very strong sound The recording comes out with the horrible sound, totally blown up.
While cell phones( S10+ and S21 Ultra) of friends who recorded videos at the same party, the sound is perfect. I would like to know if this problem is on my cell phone or is the microphone of the s22 ultra that is really bad?
Anyone who has made videos in strong sound like a show? noticed the same problem?
I put a video on youtube that I recorded, all the videos had the same audio.
It's clipping like hell... the mic gain is way too high or the mics themselves can't physically handle that decibel level.
I don't know... I wouldn't expect my N10+ to do much better in the same conditions. Never tested it though.
It's not just the audio, the video is juddery AF!

Cam shake, multiple high contrast targets... normal. An AF lock can avoid that.
Not what I'd consider normal but then again my S21 Ultra is pretty bad in a hailstorm. 13 Pro Max kills it!
This is a well known issue already being discussed in a thread here. I'm assuming it's software related since my U.S t-mobile snapdragon S22 Ultra doesn't exhibit this. Hopefully Samsung will address it in an update in the near future.
