Just curious what DPI are you guys using? I changed Minimum Width to 475 (Default is 411 I guess) and while I like the size...it's not consistent across the system..some notifications comes with bigger font size and some with small font size...
I'm using 496, according to the phone's real density of pixel showed in GSMarena's website.
587 i like my screen small and crisp.
Using 512

where specifically in the settings are you picking a particular "DPI" number?

OneUI screws many things if you change DPI....I came from Oneplus phones and they didn't have any of the issues when I change DPI
So I changed it to 496.... everything is allot smaller, but still readable.... and wow is it crisp..... Google Earth in 3D is allot crisper too..... I like this allot better than the default of 411.
587? really, I need to see what that looks like.... that must be really tiny.
Does changing DPI to 496 mess up the 120hz refresh rate?

What LCD density are you all using? I just switched from default (240) to 200 and it's fantastic.
Loving this screen.
190 is a little better
How do you change the density?

Use root explorer to edit your build.prop file under /system.
Back it up first!
Unfortunately swiftkey beta doesn't work with changed density! Dang it.
You can also use LCDDensity from the market, its free but still requires root.
I already have problems with text readability on some sites, wouldn't this make it worse?
IMO 200 is the sweet spot. At the default density, Samsung's text sharpening looks a bit harsh.. You clearly see a 'halo' around letters, and it's not too visually pleasant.
I also changed the font to Ubuntu Regular, looks better than the default to me.
I tried 200 and it looked ok but the uneven icon spacing and widget size was quite unappealing. Is there a way to fix that?
maybe a diff launcher which can add more rows and columns on the home screens and allow widgets to be resized.
I tried LCD Density from the market, and it changed it..Looked great, however, on second reboot it reverts back to stock.
WTF?

If you read the instructions when you run the app, it states that changes will not save through a reboot. So either edit your build.prop manually, or buy LCD Density Changer from Beansoft.
200 dpi looks great for me. Using ADW Launcher EX, 5x5 icon grid, icon size set to 130.

I noticed that everything seems to scale properly, except for dialer. It's now taking up only part of the screen and doesn't resize. I also got thin black lines going through tab buttons at the top.
Any solution to this?

Hi,
I have the same question and from my research it is some sort of display tweaking same as the Bravia Engine, only using this, you have a lot more options. Although in reality, I can't really find anything changing when i modify the settings...
mDNIe stands for mobile Digital Natural Image engine.
In stock galaxy S2 rom (at least my i9100 international), under Settings ->Display -> Screen mode, it shows a sample image and three preset profiles - Dynamic, Standard, and Movie. These adjust the brightness, sharpness, contrast on different screens/ in apps like camera.
Custom roms can always have custom settings for these display-related parameters of a phone.
I am not android developer, so I cannot tell you how to turn it on, but I think stock rom has mDNIe enabled by default.
How do you access the MDNIE options?
to access mDNIe options in my samsung galaxy s2
go to Settings ->Display -> Screen mode
i727 doesn't get this option I think, haven't ever seen it.

None of the crappy AT&T variants have this.
On the Skyrocket, just find "mDNIe Switcher" and install it. It comes with Seanzscreams Sky Ice rom. Not sure where to get just the .apk
It's available in CyanogenMod 10 and 10.1. I was tinkering with this today.

mDNIe is a display tweaking utility that is only useful if you had an AMOLED (LED) powered screen. Its useless for an LCD screen.

I didn't post wrong info... I just stated a fact. I know sgs 2 has an amoled screen... People asked what it is and i answered. mDNIe rebalances the chemicals in LED lights to change contrast, sharpness, blur effect. UI makes things sharper but might impact quality by missing MSAA (Multi Sampling Anti Aliasing) which now, in latest cm 10.1 you can turn on to avoid "pixelated curves" in letters and such. VT is more rich and contrast.. I think that one is from VoodooColor.
Camera i think makes the color level warmer. Every phone has different mDNIe modes. So just experiment.

change it closer to 240, since 240 is where its supposed to be. otherwise, youll get that.

OP: Not sure, some ROMs like CM9 have options for font size under "Settings > System > Font size", maybe yours does too?
Cause I've semi-bricked my phone.apk
Yea I have had trouble with changing dpi from LCD density modder too. I only use that for the market fix.
I change dpi to 180-200 by editing build.prop on root explorer.

You're right - split screen doesn't work with Nova launcher but, for me, that doesn't matter. Overall, until ColorOS progresses quite a bit further, I'd say the gains far exceed the losses.
Nope it doesn't work, it just forced back to default
