Looking for Engineer to Build Custom OS - General Topics

Hi Everyone, I run a startup that makes software for kids with autism called Goally (I can't post links since I'm here). We have families that are asking for us to build a teenager version of our product that includes very restricted calling, texting, and GPS tracking. Rather than running an app in kiosk mode i think that we may need to modify the ROM. So I'm hoping to meet engineers with an expertise in this area that want to work on a project for special needs kids.
Please DM me so we can setup a call
Thank you!

Best CRM (Customer Relationship Management/Sales) Software for Pocket PC?

Hey guys. I have been looking for some good software for weeks now and have been unable to find one that I really like. So I figure that I might as well post up here since this is where I get all of my other information regarding my phone.
So this is what I am looking for:
I am looking for some type of CRM or Customer relationship management software for the Pocket PC. For those who dont know, this is essentially a piece of software that allows you to record customers, sales, phone calls made and received from customers, interest of customers, and personal information. It is primarily used to keep track of customers, leads and sales.
Ideally I would like some software that can be used on both regular windows as well as Pocket PC Windows. Meaning I can update or add customer information on either my laptop or my PPC and the 2 devices will synchronize and maintain the same information. However if that is not possible, something that just works on the PPC only is just fine. I really need it to be able to store customers, categorize them by where they came from I.E. who referred them, update contact information such as phone calls made and received as well as appointments set, and indicate when the customer has been sold or is no longer in the market or a hot prospect.
.
If anyone could recommend a CRM software for the pocket pc that is primarily sales based, it would be GREATLY appreciated. I really need to get something as the old pen and pad mentality is not quite as efficient as I would like and I figure its time to finally step into the new millennium with my sales tracking.
Thanks a lot for all of the help guys! Btw, I dont mind paying for good software, I just need it to work well. Something that is easy to use and makes it easy to update customer information especially including calls made to them and the status of their sales deal. Thx.

Anyone got any ideas on this one?

It'd be pretty rudementry, but might work. I know with the task manager, you can set a task, and then throw notes into it. You can then also set custom priority levels. Might be able to use this to your advantage. Use the priority levels to rank the lead (cold, warm, hot, wtf why isn't this closed yet, etc etc), notes for who refered them, and once you close the deal, you can check it off your list as completed.
Just my $.02.
Edit: Goes to show what happens when you leap before you look. You CAN set priorty levels to low, normal, and high, and then can set custom categories to help you sort them by. Good luck!
Thanks for the help, however I tried this initially and it doesnt work well enough for me. It works in a rudimentary manner, but I need more control and information managment than that. Thanks tho!
Anyone else got any ideas?

My company uses this piece of software; http://www.salesmanager.nl/nl/salesmanagermobile.htm
Its in Dutch and I dont know if there's an English version..
I found this (outdated) article about "Microsoft CRM Mobile"; http://www.sonomapartners.com/articles/microsoft-crm-mobile12.aspx
And this is a download link "Microsoft Dynamics CRM Mobile"; http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...66-7EC8-4AFE-BBFA-91E7210C55C4&displaylang=en
You do need the MS Dynamics package to make it work tho..
You can also look for "Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 Small Business Edition"..
You can get a demo which is floating around Microsoft's website.

Thanks

This job posting is exciting for two reasons:
1 - If its legit (and why wouldn't it be) This is at least tells us Netflix wants to be on Android and is trying to work it out. Not sure when its going to happen though, but at least they're trying.
2 - I'm not much of a techie, but if I was this sounds like a great position. I'm sure some of you guys/gals patrolling XDA (who live in the SF Bay Area) might just be perfect for this job
I would especially love that line close to the bottom:
We pay top of market for top talent. We work to attract the best and brightest and pay accordingly.
From what I understand, Netflix has a great corporate culture, too. It's very results-oriented, which is very nice sounding if you've ever worked in an engineering sweatshop.
-I am not affiliated with Netflix in any way-

Developing an app with information from external websites

Dear xda community,
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself ...
My name is Tibor, (almost) 22 years old and I study media computer science in third Semester, so I'm not a novice programmer, which is also due to the fact that I am programming often and lovingly.
Now to my problem. I downloaded the Android SDK with all the trimmings because I have already been working with Android for a year. Since I am studying at the Technical University of Dresden and this system uses an enrollment which calls itself "jExam" and there's no app for it until today to go get one's test results, or to register or unregister for exercises, etc., I decided to tackle this probably unlikely serious matter.
The website looks like that you need to login first and foremost, and then comes in an overview.
I would like to implement this overview, and the respective content into the app. But since I am an absolute beginner in the App Development scene (someone with basic knowledge of Java!), I rely on help from the community.
Now I would like to know how it is possible first of all to transfer the data of my "login form" to the server and then later retrieve everything?
I would appreciate active participation on your part
Best regards, Tibor
(sorry for my bad english, I actually am from Germany)

Application Developer needed for exciting project

Hi guys
Just wanted to start off by saying that I am very new to all of this so please forgive me if this is in the wrong place.
As the title says i am looking for an application developer to help myself and my business partner out. I feel I have got an amazing idea for a mobile application to help Nurseries and Parents with their child care needs.
We have started out by carrying out a lot of market research and even though there are applications out there that do what I am suggesting there is nothing out there that is solely mobile application based and require expensive software packages to get the full potential of the application. I have also carried out some analysis on the potential earnings of the application based on data supplied by Ofsted and the potential earnings of the application are significant.
I have also contacted local child carers and they are in high demand for an affordably application to help them carry out their day to day activities.
Please can you let me know if this sounds like something that will interest you and if you give me your details I can give you a call and we can discuss things further.
Little bit more about me.
Name: Donovan Beykirch
Location: York, North Yorkshire, UK
Please let me know anything else you would like to know.
Many thanks for your time
Don

How do I get a striped down version of Android.

Hi everyone,
Here is a little history first. In 2014 I helped develop a traffic counting app for an engineering buddy. I designed the UI's, the flow charts and wrote the 275-page illustrated, developers manual. The developer had it working in less than 6 weeks, thanks to, as he said, "to the awesome documentation provided". The app has been in use since then and has worked flawlessly on the original 24 tablets I originally purchased for him.
Recently, we have been asked to bring the app to a wider audience so, my question is, "Is there a way to prepare an image of the Android OS containing only the setup we need, and then clone it to the new tablets?" The app is designed as engineering tool and is not listed through Google Play and as such, it does not require most of the bloatware found on the new tablets. The app does require the use of photos, some file management along with network connectivity to send and receive the various data files required and produced by the app.
I have limited experience in rooting, but I have been successful when I done it on my Samsung phones.
As a certified Graphics Designer/Windows and Mac tech/COVID-19 survivor (nearly killed me, literally...LOL), I am aware of the amount of work that goes into aiding people with their "little" projects. Any help or direction in this matter would be deeply appreciated.
