Moto e6 build with WIFI Calling - Moto E6 Questions & Answers

Hello.
I have just moved back home in the US from South Africa and have my working SIM with (CellC) there that fully supports Wifi calling and worked perfectly on my Huawei P20 lite. I now have a US SIM in that phone and bought a new unlocked Moto e6 from BestBuy to have as a spare and hopefully keep active with my SA number. The specs said it had wifi calling but the build I have does not include it from what I see.
I need a stable Custom ROM for this that will at least give me the wifi calling option to see if I can make it work. Don't even want to install any other apps. Just to make it work for calling and texts with wifi calling.
Any suggestions on avail builds that might work are much appreciated.
Thanks!

Enable WIFI Calling?

I can't seem to find the wifi calling feature in my settings, has anyone had any luck with this yet? I activated my Verizon variant yesterday on Verizon, according to the tech helping me with activation it should work on the phone and showed enabled on the account after activation but I cannot find the setting for VoLTE or WIFI calling.
Unfortunately, I don't think it's going to work. You should check the older U11 forums to see if anyone was able to get those features working on Verizon. I've chatted with HTC, and they flat out told me those features would not work on AT&T no matter what. Some carriers just don't allow every feature to be available on unlocked phones.

Im on T-Mobile so I know not a direct comparison, but I couldn't find my VOLTE or WIFI calling features right away. They are under settings / call / very bottom. To holz75's point, it may not be workable with Verizon.

Wifi-Calling on T-mobile in US

Hi guys,
If i buy the 1+7 pro from their website, which i think is unlocked version, will it support wifi calling on tmobile network in US?
I understand tmobile has their own version, but based on their website review, it has tons of junk software preloaded and don't know why they removed the original screen protector, also locked bootloader, so im not too interested in that version....
I work in an area where there's basically no signal, so wifi calling is a must for me...now using a sony xz premium international version, basically can not make phone calls with it.
Thanks!

As long as you don't use a private DNS, it'll work. It's always worked on every OnePlus phone I've come in contact with.

Can you help explain this to me? I have the GSM Unlocked version.
Since yesterday I had the banner at the top showing VoLTE.
I wondered why it didn't show VoWifi while connected to my home network.
I literally did nothing except log into my T-Mobile account through my browser and the banner in my status bar switched to VoWifi, so I was like, oh cool!
But now, minutes later, the banner is gone altogether.
No VoLTE.
No VoWifi.
*Edit*
And now VoWifi is back
There's setting to enable these two in SIM card setting, a little hard to find...
That's the only thing I can think of, as mine as came enabled when received. Both work

I'm curious about LTE bands since you are on T-mobile in USA.
Can you confirm the phone support of bands 66 / 71 ? I've seen international specs that say the phone does and does not support these bands.
Edit 6/4/2019. I saw that you actually ordered a OnePlus 7 pro, and not a OnePlus 7... It does not appear that the OnePlus 7 supports bands 66 or 71, see https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-7/help/one-plus-7-t3930123/page3

Question Verizon?

The g100/edge s are listed as no Verizon support, but I was wondering if anyone has tried. They have most of the Verizon 4g bands and 2 of the 5g bands
If anyone is curious about this I have not confirmed but I did find a post where someone tried on reddit. Everything worked except receiving texts. Verizon was unable to troubleshoot because the IMEI was not white listed in their system. After doing some reading this leads me to believe cdmaless needs to be programmed on the SIM prior to putting it in the g100/edge s and it may work. This would require a cdmaless "mule" phone to preprogram the sim prior to installation. If I can find a phone to borrow I may purchase one and give it a shot.
Same problem here. I love the g100, amazing phone especially for the price, but cannot receive texts and Verizon refuses to help with an "unsupported" phone, even though it supports all the bands necessary for operation. 4G works, calls work, and sending SMS and MMS work. I'm willing to try whatever ideas to get this going. Been riding off my old phone as a hotspot for the g100 lately.
ah nice to see I'm not the only one in this situation. You already pulled the trigger though! If you can find a whitelisted gsm phone to swap your sim into and reprogram first you might be up and running. I've been trying to find the cheapest mule to try this with. Will update if a come up with one.
I'm not sure I follow. Why would another phone make this one work?
And I guess what are the requirements of the other phone? I could probably convince a friend to let me swap if it'll work
I'm not 100% sure but I think the issue you are having is the way the line is provisioned. It is most likely set to use the old CDMA radios (the g100 does not have them). Verizon has a cdmaless provisioning setting to get around this, but they can/will only do it for CDMAless phones they have added to their white list (while having compatible 4g and one 5g band the g100 is not on the list). If you put your sim in a white listed CDMAless phone you can get the proper provisioning put on by Verizon before putting it in the g100. This should fix in bound text
Ooh very interesting. I did find stuff for 'cdmaless' in my search to get it working, but asking Verizon to add it yielded terrible results.
So it seems like the cheapest options for this might be the Moto E (2020) or the Moto G Power (2021). I might try to pick one up next week to see if this theory works.
nice! My brother has a s21 which I think will work. Trying to find one that doesn't take 2 months to get
So I ordered a G Power, swapped sim cards and it couldn't receive texts. Activated on the Verizon website, which needed to text me a verification code, hilarious.
Anyway, it added the feature
Code:
CDMA-LESS DEVICE PROVISIONING
to the sim, popped it back into the G100 and... it works!
Great suggestion, drock3260
So when I originally tried to get this to work on Verizon and they insisted that CDMA-less doesn't exist, well, I guess they lied.
So uh, does anyone want to borrow a G Power for 5 mins?

Thanks for posting about this! I am on V and strongly considering importing an Edge 20 Fusion. This thread gives me hope that it will actually work.
yeah according to kimovil it has compatible bands. If you are still thinking of pulling the trigger good luck.
What about MVNOs using Verizon towers? I plan to use US Mobile SuperLTE. Will text messages work?
It only has the one main 5g band so no I don't believe Verizon mvnos are gonna work. I didn't really care about 5g as there are few towers around me, but I have had great 4g coverage with text messaging
I can give you the best and most accurate answer. I live in America I have a moto g100 there's only one way to get this phone and that is to purchase it through Motorola USA one model option only and that's a blue Moto g100 with 8 gigs of RAM 128 gigs of memory model number xt2125-4 the name of the firmware is North American retail absolutely no bloatware because it's straight from the manufacturer not a cell phone carrier and for absolutely everything to work on the phone 4G 5G the only cell phone carrier that works on is the T-Mobile network. You can use it on the AT&t network but you're not going to get Wi-Fi calling or the 5G Network. It is a GSM only. Absolutely no CDMA nothing will work on the Verizon network. It is the only phone on the American market that dual SIM. It does have NFC. A dedicated Google Assistant button with the fingerprint scanner on the side. One issue though the North American retail will probably be the last one to receive Android 12 but because this is the United States the Android 12 version we get will be very stable
I recently got a Chinese 8/128 Edge S (XT2125-4), and 4G calls/data/sms all just work for me on Verizon.
I had previously activated my SIM card in a OnePlus 8 Pro. So in my case it was already set up for CDMA-less / LTE-only service, and I just had to move the SIM card over to the Edge S and it started working right away.
I've never noticed the phone say it was connected to 5G, but I'm not sure if I need a new sim card, or if there aren't any 5G towers in my area (or both.)

Question VoLTE and 5G - Pixel 7 on none supported countries

hello
My country (Poland) does not support pixel phones
I am only concern about VoLTE , is there any solution to enable it and not root phone ?
I have remember , there was some code just from google dialer
No
I ordered it already , hmm we will see
You would be one of the first ones to try
The Pixel 6 method could work perhaps since they are both Shannons

Hey, this tuto is working for several user to activate 5G on unsupported 5G country by Google. You need : Rooted phone, 5G Plan, 5G Coverage. STEP 1 : Install the module on magisk to activate VOLTE and reboot. STEP 2 : Install Network Signal...

This guy has my avatar with my name on it
I am waiting for confirmation if 7 Pro will work in Slovakia and I will be purchasing immediately. 6 Pro does not support 5G/VoLTE/VoWiFi in my country without root.
There's no reason to believe Google will finally enable worldwide 5G on their phones. Google is not a real smartphone brand, Pixel line is probably a showcase. Therefore, they seem to lack interest on better developing it.
I am a longtime Google phone user (nexus5, pixel1, pixel3, pixel5). If I am able to use VoLTE in Hungary, I will order a pixel 7.
Please post it here whoever has experience regarding global VoLTE support!
Thx
In Romania, also unsuported country no Volte on any of our carriers. Pixel 7pro
I managed to root my device and get 5G, VOLTE and call screening enabled on Pixel 7 in an unsupported country (Bahrain).
Let me know if u guys need a guide I will prepare one

How?
With T-Mobile from Czechia is VoLTE working. 5G not and I don't even care LTE is everywhere and more than fast enough
For me, it seems to be working out of the box in Hungary... Yet to test but in the menu, it's available
Sorry to jump on this thread but I've got an unbranded and unlocked Pixel 7 Pro and I'm using a pay monthly Vodafone UK sim card. I'm unable to find the method of turning on WiFi calling which would presumably be included in the Network And Internet settings had I purchased the phone direct from Vodafone.
I'm rooted, Can someone let me know what would be the best way of getting this option activated? Is there a Magisk or Xposed/Lsposed module that may force it? Vodafone UK definitely support it, the same sim card had WiFi calling working on my unbranded Note 10 Plus.

how do you know that VoLTE is disabled? Expect the VoLTE toggle will be hidden... Are you seeing the device fallback to 3G when trying to make a 4G call?

When I'm at home, my signal in some locations of my house is virtually non-existent. Previously, on my Note 10 Plus with the same sim card, WiFi Calling was a toggle in the network settings and, when on, I would have a clear notification icon on the status bar showing WiFi calling was in use when the phone was struggling to get a signal. I get no such notification on the Pixel nor is there a toggle when I've read elsewhere there should be.
voLTE isn't a concern, it's WiFi calling I want for when I'm at home.
I have just one simple question for Google...why do they ship the phone to non-supported countries from their official Amazon store?
Like...if you ship...make sure all features work?

Its not that Google doesn't support everything. Mobile carrier also need to implement device-specific attributes.

Google removed the WiFi calling icon a while ago in an android update or at least made it less visible. Would expect a toggle for wifi calling though in your call settings though. might be if it's not yet enabled, it'll come in a software update

People in non-supported countries still want a pixel device... VoLTE support isn't cheap or easy and Pixel is still growing

Because the US devices are carrier/SIM locked unless the device is unlocked using the device's/carrier's specific unlock method. As far as I know, Volte and Wi-Fi calling are setup and regulated by the carrier from their end, not on the user end.
Well I think we missunderstood a little SOme us Devices especially ATT are "SIM" Locked this is a total different avenue .
I am talking about WIFI Calling. Szenario :
I have a us SIm Card WIFI Calling VoLTE in US Phones Iphone and the few Androids (99% Samsung) they sell working fine
I use a European Phone works fine with almsot any provider (WIFI Calling and VoLTE) in most phones from euopr and the US phones as described above.
Use Teh US Sim Card in one of the EUropean phnes every thing works in terms of Data and VOice,Text but "NO" WIFI Calling od VoLTE . WIFI Calling is not even showing up.
My question is as simple as it can be "WHERE" and what technology swith the features on and OFF ? It must be recognized by the IMIE Number or IM Wrong ?
