hello Lampis, MIUI ROM is still in closed beta tests, there are some issues as I read the users experience shared on MIUI, Nubia and AnZhi forums.
we'll have the first official MIUI ROM for Nubia Z5S in a week or two, I guess. a little bit more patience
can't say what ROM is the best, I just have the highest expectations from MIUI.

don't think there is a CM11 built ROM available for download, just the sources on the github repo

short test report on Camera Mod apk
- made a copy of stock Gallery2.apk on a backup folder
- have installed new apk with Root Browser from Rom Toolbox Lite, then reboot
- did some random shoots, mainly on Pro settings
- the app crashed with "unfortunately, Gallery has stopped" when raw has been chosen instead jpg, feedback report has been sent
- old apk install fails, new apk can be successfully reinstalled, but still stops by launch
- sorted out with App Manager from ROM Toolbox Lite, clear data and clear cache for the Gallery system app
Some specs: Nubia Z5S 16GB, modded rooted ROM v1.30
A dedicated thread for the camera app would be helpful.

It gets installed as user app and then you can update to v1.0.26, download link http://nuvision.app.nubia.cn/apk/nubia_camera_v1.0.26.apk.
Not exactly like stock Gallery2.apk, some menu changes.
ROMs current status, mostly based on Chinese forums and Google translate:
- current stock ROM v1.30 and previous, as well, show shortcomings on 2G/3G/wifi/gps signal strength and stability, on voice quality maybe

- meantime leaked MIUI builds have been published, not worth to try them, my 2 cents
- LeWa works on a stock ROM adaptation as well, 2 releases so far, major release expected for April?, claiming improvements on 3g/wifi, official forum http://bbs.lewaos.com/forum-316-1.html
- TDBeta group works on official ROM adaptation as well, first release http://www.tdbeta.cn/thread-124108-1-1.html

Thanks will check it out here's the modded camera http://d-h.st/qvN disabled picture format added pretty mode to install just rename Gallery2.apk and Gallery 2.odex to Gallery2.apk.bak and Gallery2.odex.bak then install the above apk like normal the one issue is you cannot launch the camera app with camera key also to take better pics turn off pretty mode wavelet denoise set sharpness to 0 and always try use iso 100 when possible . for exposure time to take effect turn off zsl . here are some photos on my flickr stream www.flickr.com/photos/[email protected]/. Oh yeah will reactivate iso hjr it uses crazy iso went up to iso9200

what I like:
- can be installed as user app, much easier for anybody
- we've got everything possible in Pro mode settings, I guess
- picture quality setting
bugs:
- the bug on camera launching with hardware button is not that bad, at least the button works on taking shots
- ISO setting is not permanent, it loads on Auto on every camera restart
Hello guys I tried many gcam apk but all of it cannot be install in this device because of the 32 but os. Also some of gcam installed but when opened , it crashed. So I found this one apk gcam that can only work with hdr+ only. There is no potrait and the front camera doesn't work but its okay for me to get the hdr+ working on this redmi s2/y2.
Requirements
• unlocked bootloader
• rooted redmi s2
• camera 2api enabled
Install this gcam and u can try the camera will working properly but just with hdr+ feature.
You can see the different between the gcam and stock camera

So i have been looking for gcam but what i found is old gcam from xda without nice looking ui and features so i kept looking and here i found. it's working perfectly on my redmi s2/y2.

This GCam is tested on Redmi Note 8 without root, without unlocking bootloader, no custom roms , no system settings , latest MiUi version 11; based on Android 9 PIE ?
What is not working
1. Macro ,
2. 48MP camera,
3. Portrait mode will work if Android version is 10
