Hello there!
I have moto g7 power for about 5 months. After 2-3 months I realized that wifi disconnects sometimes, sometimes just reconnects without reason, loading videos on youtube are pain (and not only on youtube!). I was listening music on youtube and I see that wifi disconnected and didnt show any networks so I had to restart the phone.
Do you have any solutions to resolve this "global" problem with this mobile? Does the root + custom rom resolve the issue? Phone is really cool but this wifi is pain.
Thanks!

I would send external link to one post on Lenovo support about this problem but I can't because of low rank. There are many people with same problems like me. Simply said, I tried everything I found that could help but nothing worked. So seems like its time to go for reclaim. The issue can be in logic board too. Well I will see.

I knew what you were talking, it was actually a known Bluetooth inference 2.4Ghz Wi-Fi problem, that was two protocols conflicts. Some phone software enabled coexistence mode, some phone doesn't.
When you use 5G Wi-Fi, there wouldn't have any problem, or turn on enabled "coexistence mode" on your Wi-Fi router ( ddwrt or openwrt based router) if you have to use 2.4Ghz Wi-Fi.

The interference comes from other routers running 2.4 using same channels. If your in a house, it shouldn't be a problem. In apartments, you might have to try different channels to avoid issues.

Do you think that using custom ROM such as lineageOS would fix this issue?

Yes, that is very disappointed without 5G Wi-Fi.
2.4Ghz wifi is just not much useable in high density area.
Or if you have access the Wi-Fi AP/router, change the 2.4Ghz Wi-Fi frequency away Wi-Fi channel 6 ( best to use channel 1 or 13 ) , enable "Bluetooth coexistence mode", to avoid interference

Same here.
I did install ICS 4 times (back to HC even) and had the same problem just like you said.
And CSC change from ZTO (Brazil) to KOR (Korea, I think) as Kies shows.
Tried WiFi Fixer from Google Play but no luck. Keep reseting wifi all the time.

That's not the problem, I think, because I have a brazilian model P6200L and it works great, wifi is fine, but some people with the same device are having this problem, I've told them to flash the baseband/modem from a brazilian FW and it still not working.
Same problem here in Malaysia. Wifi doesn't work at all for me and it is a big problem since wifi is my primary internet connection at home. When I switch wifi off and on again it detects my home wifi with full bars and when I try to connect it immediately goes Not In Range. I've tried wifi fixer but all it does is constantly resets my wifi which doesn't help at all. I need to downgrade again..

I'm experiencing a bug on my Nexus 5, when I first unboxed my device and setup this problem arise for the first time, problem is Nex 5 is connected to my home wifi network but no internet connection/data transmission !! at that time I tinkered a little bit like forget network and reconnected it then it was fixed, after that this problem rarely appear. Then comes the real problem yesterday I rooted my phone then it wont connect to internet same as before connection is accepted and have full strength signal but not connecting to internet, I've tried rebooting, forgetting and connecting, troubleshooted PC etc but nothing seems to fix the problem !! I double checked my network like I connected my tab with wifi and it's working perfectly fine.
Is this a common/known bug with Nexus 5 ? Or it's just me ? (h/w issue)
Any known fix other than I mentioned ?
Does rooting caused this problem appear more frequently ?
Any response will be highly appreciated.
Thank you
Try connecting to a different network, it may be a compatibility issue. Also try rebooting your router/wireless. If that doesn't work then try restoring factory image.
If none of those options fix it then there could be a problem with your Nexus 5's hardware

If you're rooted (or even just have a custom recovery) check here. Turns out that the wrong WiFi config file is being used in US-based units so 5GHz DFS channels won't always work.

thanks. interesting to see if I have issues in those files, but I am actually in the UK in any case.
I tried copying the *mfg* file to *txt* - manufacturing? default perhaps? this had cc=ALL instead of UK, but I figured why not
No difference.....
So followup question - could any UK users post their files from /system/etc/wifi/nvram_net.txt*

Does anyone ever got more than 150 mbps rate ? I mean the connection rate between the tablet and router, not some speed test result. On 5Ghz I get 150, on 2.4GHz no more than 72 mbps. I tried 3 different routers, never got more then 150 mbps, and 60 up/60 down in speed tests.

No, and I wouldn't be surprised if that's intentionally set via the WiFi firmware; the WiFi chip is connected to the Exynos via a 50MHz bus that's 4 bits wide, so your effective thruput wouldn't ever be higher than ~180Mbit/sec anyway.
I've noticed whenever I connect to a 5Ghz network, it's complete garbage. At my house, when I connect to 2.4 Ghz I get a consistent speed of around 75mbps, when I switch to 5 Ghz, I can't get more than 20 consistent. Sometimes it works super quick for a second, and then anything I try to do, web surfing, videos, downloading apps etc.... just suddenly stop as if I have no connection and never start again.
No issues here with 5ghz - can only suggest resetting router and phone, otherwise perhaps you have a faulty handset.
Also no problems here. I find the range off the antennas great.
Did several speedtests and no drop outs.
Just got mine and AC 5ghz works great. Getting 235/23 mbs on my home internet.
I have the same issue. Inconsistent connection and slow speeds on 5ghz, only way to fix is a router restart, but then if i turn off WiFi and re-enable, the problem returns. Possible IP issue?
When I received the phone 2.4ghz was fine (110/110) but 5ghz was not (550/3).
I had to go to setting > WiFi > Advanced (in the "..." menu near the gear on the upper right corner) and uncheck Wi-Fi optimization.
Then I got 550/250mbps
Not sure if it's relevant to your problem, but you could try that.
Good point. Seem to remember something similar on the 10 too. Thanks!
You're welcome Hope it will solve your issue.
Unfortunately, that didn't work. Got a replacement handset yesterday, just to be sure that it wasn't the phone, same problem happens?!

Thanks, i'll give that a try. I've never had this issue with any other phone, it's very odd and actually frustrating. While I can fix it at home, I wont be able to modify router settings when out and about, so if I struggle to get WiFi on the move, i'll be paying a fortune for data, which may force me to return the phone.
Just tested mine with Virgin Media router and WiFi optimisation turned on. Maxed out at 220Mbps

I'm noticing issues on a Linksys router as well. My wife's old M8 had an issue that would go away when Bluetooth was turned off.

If its happening on other connected devices on your wireless network either 2.4 or 5Ghz try changing Router channels.
I've seen this happen on 2.4Ghz. Turns out since I lived in a pretty Wifi congested area the channel my router kept picking as "The best" was actually 6 and all the routers default to that channel. Literally that frequency was so bugged down my internet went from hitting 60-80Mbps down to Kbps. Wifi Analyzer showed all 12 channels were pretty full. I switched to 5Ghz only and immediately saw a difference, but the few channels I do have on my router are getting congested nowadays too.
Nowadays whenever my phones Wifi speeds hit the floor I do speedtest on other wifi devices and Ethernet speeds. If theres a significant difference I quickly use Wifi Analyzer to see if its time to switch channels.
when i got my htc u11 unlocked i had problems with the wifi not connecting at all or if it did it would disconnect. i found that there was a software update so i downloaded it on my mobile data. once installed everything started working correctly. mine will connect at 866mhz to my dlink-879 ACN router
The ivp6 thing or whatever is what I did when I got the m9, it wouldn't connect to my wifi at first and it was 5ghz

Yep, using Linksys.
I have the XT1955-4 (hardware version is PVT1 if that means anything to anyone) and live in the UK but I'm having trouble getting WiFi calling on EE. Both Motorola and EE have told me it should work, but I don't get any indicator that it's enabled and when I try to call a number I get an error telling me to connect to a wireless network, even though I am connected to one and have no issues with Internet connectivity.
I spoke to somebody from EE but he was completely stumped. His best guess was that it's because I'm in the process of transferring my number across via PAC but he admitted he was pretty much guessing.
Does anybody have any idea what's going on?
