Region change not possible on R760 - Samsung Gear S3

Hey!
I've recently tried to change the region of my Gear S3 Frontier, but it's not working. I've followed this tutorial: https://forum.xda-developers.com/sm...nging-region-samsung-gear-sport-r600-t3771324.
When I run the command
Code:
launch_app csc-manager.csc-pre-configuration
it says that it was ran successfully but nothing happens on my watch. I've read that this is due to the new version of Tizen 4.0.0.7, but I'm not sure. I also wanted to follow this next tutorial in order to change the region: https://forum.xda-developers.com/smartwatch/gear-s3/samsungpay-gear-s3-frontier-region-t3708868, but I didn't want to risk anything since I have another Software Version on my watch.
My software version: R760XXU2FTD4
I would love to change the region in the most noob-friendly way without bricking my watch , so any help would be nice how to do so.

any luck with this im in the same pickle

Okay, so it seems that this firmware has root access enabled by default, as "su" is locate in /bin/su of the rootfs.img. This means that we can pull images from the device and flash custom images once we figure out how to either port Android Wear over or build TWRP!

I have a ZTO S3 Classic, is it possible to change to XSA flashing this file? I wondering because here in Brazil we have SPay on our Smartphones but not on the Smartwatches yet
@dxzdxz1
Please be carefully...
At the moment I saw 2 devices "die"...
Better wait, if repair is possible "at home" in worst case scenario...
Otherwise you can brick your Gear Wearable... then WiFi not work to connect with device... Odin...
Only as hint.
OWN risk!
Best Regards
Watches die after downgrade Tizen version.
Don't flashing APK3, APK7.
Download only same version BQC2 non-combination or any combination firmware.
Code:
Watches die after downgrade Tizen version.
Don't flashing APK3, APK7.
Download only same version BQC2 non-combination or any combination firmware.
So it looks like again sboot Bootloader is not downgradable... except Combination files downgrade Bootloader (sboot.bin)...
Hmmmm.
Any idea how to detect Bootloader Version on Wearables?
On Tizen Mobile I can see it in Logfiles...
Best Regards

I can only find BQC5 firmware to download (for free only the APK6 and APJF)
I imagine that BQC5 will work in this case, but could you confirm to me?
About the CSC reset, after make this CSC Reset thing, would be possible to change my CSC region? It would be awesome if we could change to XSA or any other CSC where SPay works.
AGAIN WARNING!
Be VERY very carefully with these Combination Firmware...
Today 1 user told me via PM...
He is successfully on Combination Firmware... BUT Wifi option is not available for use with WiFi Odin...
We have no solution yet, how to connect without damage device... to USB cable...
OWN RISK!!!
Risk to "softbrick" and/or you are NOT able to flash other Firmware again...
Only as hint.
Best Regards
Please, need info/confirmation.
If Combination Firmware writes older sboot Bootloader aka downgrade...
This should be possible to test with SDB and this Command:
Code:
cat /proc/cmdline
Thanx in advance.
Best Regards
Any newer version ?
Where are these firmwares coming from? I can't pull them from Samfirm or Samfirmware.com

Please read CAREFULLY...
[ROM] [FACTORY] [FTMA]
This means """Combination""" Firmware...
If you not know what it is.
NOT use it.
Own risk.
This is NOT normal leaked Firmware...
Samsung NOT share Gear S3 Firmware...
Only official Firmware updates are over the air... called FOTA...
Odin nor Net Odin nor WiFi Odin...
These are all leaked stuff...
Odin is Service Tool for authorized Service Partner... NOT for public...
Firmware is also leaked... from Service Partner...
Combination Firmware are special Service Tools... NOT for public... NOT for End User.
Again, if you not know what you are doing...
Better not try...
Risk to "soft brick" your Gear Wearable...
Only as info.
You can use Google...
Maybe then more clear what Combination Firmware can do...

I bought early Korean import of gear S3, but I live in US. I did not know SPay would be shut off. Very annoying. Now looking to flash stock ROM that matches my region. I understand this is a common issue.
I have been away from flashing for a long time, but if I understand the information in this forum correctly, flashing a new ROM will automatically cause the S3 to update its region internally. However, downgrading your Tizen version will softbrick the device.
I have SM-R770. Tizen Version 2.3.2.4. Software version BQ--->D<---2. I should NOT attempt to flash this BQ--->C---<2 ROM for risk of softbrick, is this correct?
Please confirm. Thank you!

This is IMHO not correct.
Country/Region aka CSC change require special procedure... with Combination Firmware.
This happens not automatically...
Product Code is stored on device in """"protected""" area...
It is not impossible to change Product Code... but is not easy with Flashing via Odin...
Software version BQ--->D<---2. I should NOT attempt to flash this BQ--->C---<2 ROM for risk of softbrick, is this correct?

Yes, in main correct...
This Security crap is Bootloader related... sboot.bin...
As Info...
These Firmware packages are 1:1 from Samsung Server...
In theory, if you remove sboot.bin and cm.bin... it could be more safe to flash older Firmware...
THEORY, not confirmed yet for Gear S3
I am doing this only with my Gear S2... SM-R732...
...risk of softbrick...
Click to collapse
IMHO it is closer to Hardbrick...
As Security disable wireless Download Mode...
To solder 4 wires to PCB... to have USB cable...
This is IMHO Hardware stuff...

How to dump the firmware from the gear s3?

Hi,
Does anybody know how to dump firmware files (rom, csc etc) from gear s3 to flash them later on another gear s3?
Thank you in advance.
This require ROOT access...
Problem, we have not ROOT in Retail Firmware... only Combination Firmware contain ROOT...
On the other hand...
Few FULL Firmware packages are leaked for use with ODIN... example BQC5.
And which Gear S3 exactly?
SM-R760?
or
SM-R765?
or
SM-R770?
Maybe give more details, what you are trying to achieve...
Dumping partitions with Linux dd Commands is not totally riskfree...
Dumping yes...
But Restore/Flashing back could be surprice... :cyclops:
Example Rollback Prevention... Downgrade Firmware...
Best Regards

I have R770XXU2QBC5
CSC R770OXA2BQC5
Purchased in Ukraine.
Aim is to take Swedish Gear S3, dump the firmware and reflash it to the one from Ukraine to get Sweden as a country of origin to make Samsung Pay work.
Maybe we should make some little exercise... maybe then more clear, what you really want...
SM-R770 Firmware FULL for use with Odin:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/gear-s3/development/rom-samsung-gear-s3-classic-sm-r770-t3526747
For our little exercixe you only need CSC...
Now you can unpack/extract files from csc.img easily with 7zip
Btw, 7zip is very usefull for the other Firmware files too...
Maybe you ever heard of funny words:
Sales Code
DBT for instance is Germany...
SER is Russia..
CHC is China...
.
.
.
What ever you want to achieve, as it seems... is NOT Firmware related... not really as OXA contain many countries...
You are dreaming about Sales Code change...
Btw.
This require also ROOT.
Look here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=72939739&postcount=260
Or somebody find the way to unblock... to enter this Code via simple Key input...
Only as info.
Best Regards
Yep, probably I dream about csc
This unblock code you mention is in a way a perfect solution, any idea how to fget thus code on gear s3?
Talking about root, will Samsung Pay setup on root? Also will the rooted device get ststem updates?
Talking about root, will Samsung Pay setup on root?

Sorry, Samsung Pay is of NO ehm LOWEST interest for me...
But maybe somebody find way to activate/unblock this Code, without ROOT...
So many ways possible to investigate...
For instance try this...

I had downloaded the complete system dump from a link I had found 2 years ago. Not sure exactly where.
If anyone has a full dump of the watch. kindly share.

Combination File for SM-G930W8

Hi,
I have a S7 (Canadian) with the following firmware: G930W8VLS4CRH1_G930W8OYA4CRH1_XAC (Oreo 8.0.0)
I need to remove the FRP lock on it, but I am not managing to get the correct combination file for it. All the ones I am getting are FA60 instead of FA70 OR FA80 and the wrong binary.
Can someone help with the right combination file or what can be done to remove the FRP on this.
Thanks
GC
Hello Im waiting on my samsung S7 in the mail. Im very familiar with rooting and android. I own 2 samsung tablets the Tab A and the S2. Ive never heard of a combination file. Could you explain to me do I need this file to flash roms or anything? I dont really understand what its for could you tell me what its for and if I need it. Thank you
I have the G930F international unlocked coming I don't know what region or firmware it's on. It's supposed to be new returned condition. I have had them lie before on eBay and say it was new and when I get it there's already been a firmware update like my S2 tablet was on nougat so I'm thinking it'll probably be the same thing this time. Im hoping it's still on marshmallow firmware when I get it. Can I update with different region firmware? I'm American so I was going to flash Oreo BTU United kingdom. But thanks for the help. Yes help me out I
What's the u1 and he mean also?
On 8.0 you cannot use combination to reset frp anymore must use service box

Galaxy Watch Active Firmware Update

I have recently downgraded my watch active firmware in order to change it's CSC so I would be able to use samsung pay. But now I can not update the watch back to the latest Tizen version ( 4.0.0.7). I am wondering if I use Odin to flash the new firmware will my CSC be reset so I won't be able to use Samsung Pay anymore? And also, where can I find firmware for the watch? I was looking for firmware for some time and I can not find anything( Model: SM-R500).
P.S: I can not update the watch using the wearable app. It says that the software is up to date. The firmware that I used is R500XXU1ASAD which is 4.0.0.3 version of Tizen

Hi, did you find a way to solve this problem. I also have tried everything to "stimulate" the watch or the wearable app to update the Watch, even flashing different versions of the firmware (4.0.0.x, 5.5.0.x), changing the associated Smartphone, resetting, but nothing, it remains stuck to the version it is at, always saying that the software is "up to date"!! What does it look at to determine it??
Thank you to anyone who'll find a solution for this.
P.S. Mine is an LTE model, but without eSIM, for the moment, and I also have just changed the CSC.
P.P.S: Before changing the CSC, the watch did REGULARLY update from Tizen 4.0.0.6 to Tizen 5.5.0.2, through 4 passages. There should be something in the changing process which invalid that...

Question Skip/remove current installable firmware and download new one

Hi guys,
My GW4 classic 46mm is still on GVI3 firmware with Sept 1 patch and luckily I didn't update to GVK3.
I read all the misery that came with this firmware update and also the GVK4 version.
However, the GVK7 version is out now and seems to have solved the bricking issue, so I want to try that version to install.
But my phone and watch keep saying I need to install the GVK3 version.
Is there a way I can get rid of the GVK3 version, so I can check for the GVK7 version and install that one ?
A
Can you maybe write correct Model Name?
Example...
SM-R880 or something like this...
My adventure with SM-R860 and GVH2 to prevent GVI3.. ended with Brick...
So I was forced to be wimpy... and Samsung repaired my SM-R860...
B
Are you able to detect your valid active set CSC?
Example...
I set my SM-R860 to Germany and then active CSC is:
DBT
Best Regards
I took the change and updated to GKV4.
Luckily the watch still started and I could update immediately to GKV7 as well.
Watch not bricked = me happy
