Urnyx05's GCam port: Green Hue issue - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S8+ Themes, Apps, and Mods

Hi @Urnyx05
First of all, thank you and to all the involved devs for sharing your vast knowledge and work on making ports of the Google Camera app.
On my particular device, I ran into an issue where the output file of image capture is strongly hued green. This occurs even after a phone restart, reinstallation, and an app data clear. Video capturing seems unaffected and the live preview is normal.
Sorry as it is my first time getting a Camera2 Test, but I don't have a clue which option to capture, so I captured the first dropdown item I saw. Also, all links are from Google Drive, sorry. Also, since I'm a new user, I can't put any links. Sorry for that.

[Q] Editing a photo on Unofficial CM10.1 - 3/30 build crashes com.android.gallery3d

I updated to build 3/30 today from 3/16 and I notice that when I take a photo and try to edit it (either by applying a filter or using brightness adjustments) and I try to save it, I get a message that "com.android.gallery3d has stopped working" and it doesn't save the new photo. I've noticed that it does not crash on any photos I've taken before I updated to this build date. Can anyone out there confirm for me real quick if they are having similar issues and reply back your findings?
If no one else has this issue, I might just do a fresh installation and see if that corrects it.

I too face the same issue on my Galaxy Note - 10.1.0-RC0-n7000
My friend who owns another galaxy note also faces the same issue with Gallery editing.
Very irritating bug, this.
Still having this issue and I've done 2 complete wipes (factory format and system format both times and Internal SD card format the first time) since I've made this thread. I did notice that this happens almost always on 3:4 oriented photos as opposed to 4:3 oriented photos. I don't think there's any apps interfering with it since the only photo type app I have is Instagram. Any other ideas on what might be causing it?

SOLVED: I just want working continuous auto focusing video recording.

]Okay, now I understand this phone simply have this problem where the camera constantly tries to refocus during video recording and it affect all OnePlus, this is my third OnePlus.
For some reason the Cyanogen Rom and roms based on it lack some drivers that allows continuous autofocusing to work correctly while video recording. Depends on what camera apps you use, the autofocusing will either not work, or it will continuously tries to re-focus nonstop. ColorOS however does have this function working correctly.
Solution: Use ColorOS + CameraNext or Google Camera.
If it matters that much to you then find the bug report on Jira and up vote it, that's the only real effective way to have an impact. You're not likely to find a fix at the ROM level.

Thanks for posting a solution. This problem is driving me crazy enough to sell my phone since I often need to use it to take short videos at work, and it is so embarrassing to have to show the videos to others that I have taken to also carrying around a small point-and-shoot, and this is not acceptable. I have tried many roms and many camera apps, but all of them have the video refocus issue.
However, I don't see Color OS in XDA. Is there a rom thread for it? I will try anything to salvage this phone since I love it except for this problem.

This also appears to be a fix
I flashed the v20 mod for the app at http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/themes-apps/app-cameranext-modded-t2999275 and it does not continually autofocus. I saw no need to flash the "click fix" since it is does not click when using it. I am on KK Slim.

The official ColorOS firmware for some reason I could not get to boot on my phone, but you have to use the official version if you want working OTA updates. And it lack Gapps so you have to manually install it.
You could use other custom version like this one which is what I'm using, it's flashable using TWRP. http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/general/rom-4-4-2-coloros-2-0-36beta-t2955853
The official OppoCamera.apk still do not record with continuous focusing, but the CameraNext.apk and Google Camera does.

I had not visited to xda forum for long time cuz develop this app for improving uncomfortable options and increase depth and out of focus distance. So sorry for that.:crying:
Now 2.19.4 standard and pro version is in playstore and apkpure.com(standard only).
I'm sorry I have not posted sooner, I have been out of town. Thank you again for the opportunity to test this camera with you.
Phones: LG G6 LG-LS993 (Sprint) Android Oreo 8.0, Everything Stock, Samsung Galaxy Note 3 SM-N900P (Unlocked - Formerly Sprint), Rooted Android 7.1.2 AOKP Mod ROM
I haven't been able to much with it on the Note 3, except to say that it works. I'm currently dealing with an SD Card issue.
LG G6: I am on version 2.20.4 (237) of the app. Google Play does not give me the option to update. It also does not show up on my list of installed apps on the Play website. If you I go to the app page on Play, it does show it as installed, but only gives the options of "Open" or "Uninstall".
First let me say, the zoom is incredible. Wow it will really get up close. The amount of background blur you can get is almost unreal, or you can get very little. Very versatile in that.
First Image, 3 items are almost touching. Second, they are about 3 inches apart. Third, about 10 inches apart. Fourth is to show you how much you can change the depth of field back...about 12 inches apart.
There have been crashes, for example any time I run the Logic setting above 35 it crashes on the LG G6 but not on the Note 3, but they are few and far between. I've purposefully left my LG almost maxed out on space just to see how far I can push it. With less that 2gb of space on the phone, 166 User Apps installed, running Gmail, Facebook, Instagram, Messenger at the same time, it still performs almost all of the time.
Focus is a bit tricky for me. I'll click on what I want to focus, sometimes it will move right to that focus point, sometimes i have to press several times or hold my finger in place for a second before it moves to that point...once in awhile it never does.
The only other issue I am having I believe are more an issue of not knowing how to use all of the functions, and not much being in the settings menu. I've tried all of the various "Image Save Resolution" settings (and there are a lot) but it will never save a file larger than 960 x 720, and I think that is why I'm having a "fuzziness" issue. Its hard to explain, but I am attaching a few images to demonstrate. It's almost like it's tried to denoise the image, but the settings are off, if that makes sense. And like I said, it may come from the "save" issue I'm having.
Other than that, I've truly enjoyed trying to learn the camera. A bit of a tutorial on how to run the settings would go a long way in helping me really get some better photos so you can tweak anything that needs fixing. In the future, I would like to see maybe a manual focus slider to go along with the focus depth slider, auto rotation, and maybe RAW image added to the save format. All of the images I'm posting are unedited, they were ran through photoshop simply to rotate them the correct way since the app doesn't (or I haven't found how) and then uploaded straight to Imgur - which I'm still learning to use, please forgive me. Also, I have a photoshoot scheduled this weekend, so I will be taking a few extra lenses with me so I can get some shots for side by side comparison with the big cameras. I'll be using Canon 5dMKII full frame with various "L" and regular lenses.
Sorry for update fail.
I think your google account has some problem.
So I have set app price as 1 dollar in temporary as special event. Do save the chance for you.
Now 3.10.1 pro version shows up amazing depth of defocusing.

App-made screenshots show nonsense or events from recovery mode

Hey! I'm currently trying to find an app that enables me to take screenshots without using the physical buttons on my phone, and I've run into a somewhat strange issue: third-party screenshot apps create images showing nonsense or things that happened in recovery mode.
Sorry for the wall of text below.
Phone details
I'm using a Nexus 5 running stock ROM Android 4.4.4. For recovery I'm using TWRP and for kernel I'm using Linaro by LaboDJ. The phone is rooted and also has Xposed Framework installed. Screenshots on this device are, as you probably know, normally taken by holding down the Volume Down and Start buttons simultaneously, but issues with the Start Button is making me seek an on-screen-based approach instead.
Issue
So far I've tried several different apps which can take screenshots by pressing overlay icons, shaking the phone, and so on. None of the screenshots come out as wanted, however. Depending on the app, screenshot files may fail to be generated, be pitch black, or feature something entirely different than the actual screen. The last type is made using root-requiring apps that scan for different methods to make screenshots (Screenshot Easy, Screenshot Ultimate).
The screenshots created by root-using apps (all images provided below are from Screenshot Easy) initially looked like this or this (depending on selected method, image). For testing I used /system/app mover to turn Screenshot Easy into a system app. This changed what it was able to make into this and this, revealing that the app provides screenshots of things I did in recovery mode. The coloration makes it even stranger (this is what the color scheme of TWRP looks like). In addition, the app retained the ability to make such screenshots even after being turned back into a non-system app or being reinstalled. There has been some days since I made these images, and right now the app can only create this. I'm having a hard time determining what affects output.
I would expect this app to work on a Nexus 5 for different reasons. Firstly, the majority of Google Play reviews for Screenshot Easy on this phone model are positive. Secondly, my phone is able to make screen recordings (SCR Screen Recorder) and take button-screenshots systemwide (DisableFlagSecure). I should also add that while I want to avoid using the physical buttons, they do create regular screenshots if I use them.
What I've tried so far
Fixes I've tried include changing Screenshot Easy settings, reinstalling the app, restoring the stock kernel, disabling various Xposed modules that may or may not be involved, starting the phone in Safe Mode to disable potentially interfering apps (Screenshot Easy was still usable due to being converted to a system app), deleting the TWRP backup on the phone, using an older version of Screenshot Easy from an APK-hosting website, wiping app cache, and wiping dalvik cache. I also tried changing resolution or DPI values (using SecondScreen or changing build.prop values), but this either turns the screenshots black (resolution change) or has no effect (DPI change).
Frankly I cannot make heads or tails out of this issue. If anyone could make any suggestions of what to try next or perhaps diagnose what is going on I would be very grateful!
TL;DR: third-party apps used for taking screenshots behave stangely and don't work no matter what I try. What to do?
Update
Update: it's been about 6 months since my above post, and for shiz and giggles I decided to yet again try downloading a screenshot app to see if I still get strange results. Went for Screenshot Easy (non-pro version) and granted it root permission, and to my surprise it works as it should, creating proper screenshot files.
It is difficult for me to tell if the reason Screenshot Easy now works is caused by some change in my phone, or in the app. However, while Screenshot Easy has received at least three updates since my previous attempt (I reckon the previous version I tried was 1.6.2, and now I'm using 2.9.6), Screenshot Ultimate has not received any updates and still gives me black (or gray), nonsense, or no images.
Edit: Testing suggests the reason is app change; the APKpure copy of v1.6.2 does not work (same issues described above) while v2.1.6, v2.8.2, and the already tested v2.9.6 does. What exactly has changed within the app is still hard to say. A difference is that v.1.6.2 with root permission but without being a system app has two faulty "Method 7" and "Method 8" methods for taking screenshots (image - this somehow differs from my previous experience) while the three working versions have a functional "Root 10" method (image).
According to the app update history (logged by App Annie (direct link, requires login)), the update info for v1.6.2 was simply:
Screen Record (Android 5.0+: Video & Audio)
Improved layout
Improved screenshots
Fixed bugs

[Help Needed] Camera problems in official LineageOS 18.1

Moving away from main thread to avoid spam
Original Question:
Hi,
first of all, thanks a lot for your effort bringing lineage to the pixel 4a.
I've got a problem with the main (front 12.2 MP) camera (please see attached logcat).
When opening the default camera app (as well as with my test with google camera) the screen stays black and I can't take pictures. I'm on build number lineage_sunfish-userdebug 11 RQ2A.210505.003 b609c3a431, but had this problem with the previous build as well (I was able to take pictures a few builds back, though).
Does anyone else have issues with the camera not working or is it just me?
Thanks a lot and let me know, if there's any further info I can provide that would be helpful for troubleshooting.
Thanks and regards,
C
second log from main thread
Original text:
Hey again
I clean installed the 20210527 build (and corresponding recovery) today and first thing I did was trying the camera... The org.lineage.snap is slow to non-responsive, the screen stays black and ultimately the camera app crashes...
The attached log shows multiple errors (as far as a noob like me can tell ).
If I'm the only person affected by this, is there anyone who could help me troubleshoot the issue... different hardware in Europe... or hardware failure... false stock firmware (though 100% sure it was on 11).
Thanks again and regards,
C

Hey @mangokm40
thanks for your feedback. I neither have magisk nor any custom kernel installed.
I basically came from stock android 11 and followed the installation instructions .
As per this lineage wiki I installed mindthegapps according to the instructions.
Do you or anybody have any other idea? As I seem to be the only one affected, I guess a bug report wouldn't be in order, would it
Thanks again, appreciate your support
Chris, stop using the stock/default app and use a Gcam port: https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/dev-cstark27/
Like PXMod (cstark's PXv4.5: PXv4.5_GoogleCamera_7.2.014.apk (cstark27, 2020-09-04, pixel)
I think you'll find the same and more features than the stock app, and it's a lot more stable. No issues taking front camera pics (you can also enable HDR+ for the front camera).

thanks for the input, but i fear, that won't help in my case... I already tried the gcam mod of this post, which didn't work either
there might be darker forces at work with my pixel 4a...
nonetheless, I'll try your version asap and come back with the result.
thanks for your time and effort
I have the same issue. The rear cam stopped working. Upgrading to the latest 18.1 build did not help. I guess an update for "carrier services and device personalization apps" from play is causing this, as this are the only changes i noticed on my p4a.
hey guys,
sorry for the delay, but finally closing the loop on this one.
thanks to @razorloves , who looked a the logs and confirmed my suspicion, that an actual hardware issue might be the issue, I rolled back to stock and was able to confirm, that the camera issue had nothing to do with LOS 18.1 .
the same problem occured with stock, so I returned and exchanged the phone.
new phone with official LOS 18.1 has been working smoothly for two weeks now, including both cameras
so again, thanks @razorloves for your support and of course thanks @PeterCxy for a great rom.
cheers,
C
