usually the "apps" are not being installed as normal apps, but that's now the case.
Try setting the date to 20.june and retry, worked for me to install it normally
EDIT, yeah just tried...
so
1st - restore
2nd - date to 20.june or similar
3rd run that chinese helper app
proceed with normal routine
change date back for login...obviously..
change date to 20.june for proceed
install gsf
(whenever you login or seek for live data (playstore)), use the real date

Now not working as of 11th August 2020
Google id login shows cannot communicate with google server. Any ideas

Hello guys... Since September 11, I'm trying to install the Google services in my Mate 30 Pro. I had already the apps installed (since 2019) and I was intented to give this phone to my mom, and, as I bought another phone for me, I reseted my LIO-L29. There's where the nightmare starts. I think I have tried almost (if not all) tutorials, packs of files, procedures, downgrades, and everything that I know, and what I didn't know (what I learned this 3 days).
Resuming, I don't know anymore what to do. The phone was in version 10.0.1.240, downgraded to 10.0.0.157, but no success anyway.
Anyone had tried some procedure in last days, and worked?
All procedures fail in some part, almost all, at add de Google account, when you "froze" in the sign in page and install the Google service framework, the phone should back after that with the Google account logged in, but no success.
Please, if someone can help me, I will VERY GRATEFUL.
Thanks

How to make to work Google Apps Device Policy

Hi guys, I successfully done with the GMS installation on my P40 Pro but I need the Google Apps Device Policy and I cant make it work. Is there anyone also facing this issue and made it work? The company where I worked was using this google application due to security reasons for the data we have.
I tried so far was added my corporate account right after the installation of 1st 6 apk files then downloaded the Google Apps Device Policy right after installation of the GSF or the 7th APK. When I open Google Apps Device Policy, it logged my corporate account there as it should because I added it together with my personal google account but it doesnt continue as it is requesting to sign in again and the error cant connect to google service still persist.
Hi, is it Google Apps Device Policy or Android Device Policy (the new one). In our Company, we used Android Device Policy, where it insist on creating a work profile. On this stage, the GMS stopped working correctly and the work gmail account disappeard.
Than I tried to install old Device GApps Policy apk only extracted from my P30 Pro (but on another device where I had already a work profile (I don't like to have multiple icons)) and it was working, it allows me to add work account without creating a work profile. Suddenly, before that I returned the P40 Pro so I don't know, if it's working.

Hi, thanks for the reply. What you recommend is, try extracting my previous working APK with work profile on my older device? I have samsung older device with working profile in Google Apps Device Policy, do you think it will also work on my case?
I don't think so. Only without work profile.
When there is installed GMS on P40 Pro and you want to create a work profile it wont work, the GMS wil start to spam you with error notifications. So, add work account via Google Device policy (install apk), and it might work. But before steps from guide when it installs patched GMS core.
I can't test it, because already I have returned the P40 Pro.

I made it worked thru dedication and luck. Thanks for the tips
Can you apply the steps how you made it work? Because i have this problem too.
I have G Suite account which is asking always to login after installing GMS on my P40.
Google on P40 Pro
I'm still getting the mistake that the device is without Play Protect certification and I can't even log in to Google play, and I also can't add a second Google Account
Hi, i managed to install GMS on my P40 and it works without errors or notifications for Gmail account. (Followed this video tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lYOU_YxrHhc )
The only step that i miss is that i cant login into my G Suite (work) account and cant find any tutorial how to make it work after installing the GMS.
The message that i get is:
1. Couldn't sign in
Your domain requires mobile device management. Please install the Google Apps Device Policy application to enforce security policies required by the [email protected] account.
[Donwload]
2. Clicking on [Download] button it redirects me to Google Play store to download Google Apps Device Policy.
3. Opening Google Apps Device Policy and clicking on Next
4. Here i get an error Couldn't sign in
A problem occured while communicating with Google servers.
Please try again later.
Does someone has a solution for this? Is there a way how i can login with my G Suite account?
G Suite account login succeed
GOOD NEWS!! By lots of trying i managed to make it work.
Here is what i did:
1. Reset the device.
2. After selecting region... you need to set up the Device protection > Set password (6 digits) (Is needed for your work account)
3. Download older version of Google Apps Device Policy (6.92) to you computer. (I downloaded it from https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/googl...ease/device-policy-6-92-android-apk-download/ )
4. Follow this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lYOU_YxrHhc
5. Place that "com.google.android.apps.enterprise.dmagent_6.92-692_minAPI14(nodpi).apk" into "00 Google Installation" folder
6. Now install the first 6 apk's (from video) while "G"-app is running in the background
7. And now install the 7th apk the "com.google.android.apps.enterprise.dmagent_6.92-692_minAPI14(nodpi).apk" you downloaded before. Also while "G"-app is running in the background.
8. After entering accounts open Google Apps Device Policy app. (Click ok & Next >)
9. Here you will get an error "Your device has still not been registred with Play services. Please try after some time." (Click Ok)
10. Open play store (This will disappear)
11. Close all apps and go further with installing "(7) Google Services Framework.apk"
12. Finish the installation (till the end by installing 9th apk which is Google Play services) from the video
13. Now here you'll get a notification that your G Suite (work) account cant login. (Tap on it)
14. Here click on a button [Download]. You'll be redirected to PLay Store.
15. Update Google Apps Device Policy app and open it.
16. Now here click on "Next >" and Allow and again Allow access > Activate > Enforce
Now you can enter Gmail, Drive etc... with your G Suite account
Hope this will help someone.
Device: Huawei P40
Software: EMUI 10.1
PS: For security reasons remove "G"-app from your device!
thanks boglky for the help, the phone now works perfectly it works without errors or notifications for Gmail account ? this video tutorial helped

So I set both accounts personal and work during the process and install google play services with all other apps with no issues. Play store works, personal account works. But when I try to use work account, Device Policy app installs and asks to set work profile without no option to use it as regular (I have my work account on P20 set as regular account with Device Policy and its fine), when work profile gets set it installs all apps like play services etc as separate work and of course they don't work then, work profile cannot complete setting and all pop up notifications appears again.
I tried installing Device Policy older version right after I add work account but when I open account to set it work it asks to install new version anyways.
Hi,
I am experiencing exactly the same behaviour as @jovikus does, on my p40 pro.
I was using the Googlefier method from bender_007 and also raised this in his topic:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=83944723&postcount=744 having no answer so far.
Thanks for your bringing this up and thanks everyone for helping out!
Best,
Octav
Does anyone have any update on this topic?
Thank you!
Any updates from anyone?
Doesn't work for me, any update info?

Even without GMS its a great device, just have to accept that there is life besides google.
I am lucky that I have GMS on my device since November last year, I have no problems but than again I use very few google dependent apps on the 30pro.
I tried every method posted here and on the internet.. but even though I installed google play store, I was never able to connect to my google account. Right now google has severed the sign-in process.. The only method that worked for me was installing a Virtual Machine in my phone.
here the link if you want to try it. Good luck!
So (as of today and 20/09/20) you can not install google services on mate 30 pro ??
That's bad, I just bought this phone today .....
With Last micro g version, I could again sign in YouTube vanced

Understanding the current state of Google-use on P40-line

I got a few of questions regarding the current state of using Google services on the P40-series devices to make sure my understanding of the situation is up to date (I'm specifically using P40 Lite but my guess is all this applies to any P40 device):
What did I actually do to the phone currently? - I keep reading about multiple methods to get things working, mentioning freezes and other modifications, so I want to know what exactly I did myself. To get the phone working on my side, I went through a firmware downgrade, then installed Googlefier and went through the steps in it. Is this the freeze-thing that people mention or is it something completely different?
As far as I understand, we have currently only 2 options, would this be a correct way to describe them?:
Googlefier - to allow logging in Google accounts, use of Google apps however with non-working notifications (and notification delays)
MicroG - resolves all/almost all notification issues however no use of Google account/apps is possible
Updating the Google Play Services the normal way through Google Play Store is pretty much not possible, is that correct?
As far as I understand, if a factory reset is performed on a phone that previously had Googlefier installed and working, re-installing it will not require a firmware downgrade (only installing Googlefier and setting it up will be needed, not a whole downgrade again). If that is correct, is there a way to fully restore a stock firmware that would leave the phone in its factory state?
Any information or clarifications would definitely be welcome.
I just wanted to make sure the information I have is up to date since there are so many things floating around and a lot of them appear to be very outdated.
I have the same questions, I just bought a P40 pro, and don't really now what to do, to solve this problem

I didn't ask anything regarding a problem, I just want to know what type of workaround the method I used was along with a few general questions, I'm not actually asking how to get something working (other than notifications in some apps, everything else is fine on my end).
So googlefier was a package of apps that simplified the process of downloading and installing multiple apks manually. The app that it came with is lzplay and it becomes a device admin.
I don't know much past that, but how did you get most notifications to work?
I just bought a P40 pro last week and working on exploring best option going forward too
Googlefier is actually a wrapper work which eventually uses LZPlay to get the job done. B/c of the limitations in LZPlay, people need to get P40 phones downgrade to an old firmware so that LZPlay could work - I find it not really possible as I couldn't find the correct firmware for my P40 pro now (maybe it's b/c of my region ... )
Then recently there is DualSpace, haven't tried it but looks like an easy go
It looks like a method of separating a new user/app space (sounds like a VM on a physical computer sort of concept ?)
Google actually has very similar thing called "work profile" I remember that can setup a personal as well as a work related dual accounts on same phone and the data space are separate also allows diff. security policies

No clue, they just work on my side, only did a downgrade followed by the Googlefier process and then update to the latest security patch.
Google Play Services version is highly out of date though (v20.09.13).
Anyway, could still use information on my original questions.
@CrisR82
I can tell you if you factory reset the device it would just wipe it. Which in theory should leave it at its current software firmware version. So no you wouldn't need to downgrade again. (Unless you upgraded after getting Google services to work)
I also got most of everything working perfectly now. But I decided to freeze gsf with icebox so I could get all notifications.
It's actually not bad. I was able to find all apps that I use on Huawei app store and if not I then use apkpure or aurora.

[GUIDE] How to fix Google Play system update not updating or being stuck

Hello. I have seen lots of complaints regarding Google Play system update being stuck, and no further updates being offered at all.
After researching, I discovered a splendidly simple solution—logging out all but one Google account on the phone, clearing Google Play services data, and trying again.
The Main Components APK that other threads suggest is malicious. Do not install such APKs.Threads are suggesting installing an APK called "Main Components", saying that it'll update your device. Do not believe such claims—all it does is change the date shown on your phone. It's very small and does not require restarting to install, proving the ineffectiveness of this app. It also causes versioning issues and incompatibility, and in extreme cases, will brick your device.
In case you have already installed the app, uninstall it immediately via the following ADB command:
adb uninstall com.google.android.modulemetadata
Fixing the Google Play system updateSTEP 1: Update Google Play services to the latest version.
Spoiler: Update Google Play services to the latest version
On your phone, open this page with the Google Play Store, then tap on "Update". If that button does not show up, then Google Play services is updated already.
STEP 2: Leave only one Google account signed in on your phone.
Spoiler: Leave only one Google account signed in on your phone
If you have more than one Google account signed in on your phone, sign out the other accounts and leave the one you often use. Make sure that this account is not a Personal Account (not from your school/work).
For instructions on how to see the accounts on your device and to sign out them, see here.
STEP 3: Clear Google Play services' data and restart the phone.
Spoiler: Clear Google Play services' data and restart the phone
Note: Do not uninstall updates of Google Play services.
Important: When you clear Google Play Services data or storage, it may delete some information saved to your device, including transit cards, COVID cards, and virtual payment cards saved to Google Pay.
On your Android phone or tablet, open the Settings app.
Tap Apps > See all apps. Note that you do not need to tap "See all apps" on Samsung devices.
Scroll down and tap "Google Play Services."
Tap Storage > Clear Cache.
Tap Manage Space > Clear all Data. Note that "Manage Space" is called "Manage Storage" instead on Samsung devices.
Restart your device.

STEP 4: Check for Google Play system updates again and hope for the best.
Spoiler: Check for Google Play system updates again and hope for the best
Now go check for Google Play system updates again. There should be an update, follow the prompts to download and install it. After installation, it should prompt you to restart. If not, tap on "Check for updates" again and it shall prompt you to restart. After restarting, check if the update was successfully installed. If yes, congrats, you have successfully updated!

Not malicious in a malware sense, but it causes further problems and is useless, unless if you want to fool yourself into some placebo update.

That apk doesn't do no harm to your phone but it doesn't do any good also; it only changes the date.
For me this process does nothing. I already tried lot of methods without luck. My phone had no issues on Android 10 but after Android 11 the Google Play System update went nuts, I use only one Google account. I tried to factory reset the phone, clearing data/cache for Play Store, Play Services (updated), going to Safe mode and clear these data/caches but nothing works. I tried to go beta for Google Play Services but no luck. It is just frustrating because I not modified the ROM of the phone and the Unihertz manufacturer cant help me, I also reported this issue several times to Google Support, but the best effort was from them to ask videos about the issue. I got no response after my report. This is just nuts from Google, seriously unprofessional. They marketed the Android 10,11 with this update, to provide basic security updates for every phone and they cannot provide it at all for lot of users facing this issue. You can search about this and this is independent from manufacturers, the issue is in Android 11 probably.
Tried this myself.
Still on June 2022 Play Update on Android 12.
I expected July at least. And August should also be out any moment now.
How can you call com.google.android.modulemetadata aka main components as malicious? It is one of the component introduced as project mainline. Have some research before posting,
Project Mainline - https://www.xda-developers.com/android-project-mainline-modules-explanation/
Module Metadata aka Main Components - https://source.android.com/docs/core/architecture/modular-system/metadata
When you install this to system, it parse information from playstore/services apk since google push the system updates through playstore and services apk (latest here) and updates the same in the UI. Installing this won't install system updates but it shows the right system version you are on. Works only with devices showing wrong system update due to a factory reset.
I know you are trying to help, but make sure to use the right wordings.
Thanks!
How to disable automatic updates? After update my Xiaomi Mi A2 with Android 13 Port from Pixel 5 freezing and overheating.
If i delete /data/apex/ folder and reboot everything works fine.
This issue is certainly after Android 11 and 12, the downgrade to Android 10 solved the issue for me, with Android 10 the Google Play System Update works flawlessly. Also the Android 11 has GUI performance, high cpu usage and battery drain issues. Unnaceptable from today standards, I hope one day I can get a good Android device that works just fine.
I'm on Android 13 and this didn't help me. I'm still on June 22, and there's even October already available.
It's now almost November 2022 - Google Has Failed To Resolve The Problem. And this issue started after May 1st 2021.
I have a 5g Nokia and T-Mobile. This guessing game gives me the chills - like some victim in a twisted B rated film's plot about a blackout that selects randomly targets made to be blind for no reason at all.

Huawei P40 Lite / JNY-LX1 - Google Services problem

Hello, excuse me posting this wall of text but I have some problems with my P40 Lite / JNY-LX1. Let me explain to you how all problems started:
- I have bought the phone with some firmware, I think it was emui11 or so (I can't remember the exact version), almost 2 years ago. To install Google Play Services, I had to rollback to 10.0.1.167. Everything worked perfectly, done with HiSuite back then, the install of GPS was done with Googlefier app, everything worked from the first try, notifications and all apps. Even the updates to G.P. Services and G.P. Store were up to date to the latest versions, even the firmware was to the latest 12.0.0.237 (emui12). Time passed by till 4 days ago when I had to change my Google Account password, I did that on my Desktop. Now using the phone became a mess because google logged me out of my account requesting the new password. When I tried to log back in the account the app would crash or throw out errors like Can't reach google servers or something like that.
- The first tought of it was to downgrade again to 10.0.1.167. For the beginning I had to use HiSuite to downgrade to 10.1.0.399, then I had to use the dload otg cable method cause the install won't proceed. Everything fine, downgraded to 167 with success.
- Installed again the Googlefier app downloaded from apkmirror and proceed to install GPServices. Somehow I managed to install it by using the ictfix method, managed to get rid of the errors. But now, the Google Play Store and the Google Play Services would update themselves to the latest versions after a few hours (10hrs or so) which makes them show the all time "This device isn't Play Protect certified". To solve this error I have to reinstall the GPServices app and GPStore again.
-I tried to do it with airplane mode on, internet off, different versions of the GPServices app, with the "Auto-Update apps - Don't update apps" settings in the store checked in, but still after a few hours the apps update themselves to the latest versions.
-- Apologies for making you read this wall of text but I wanted to make sure you understand my problems. Now my question is: Does anybody know a solution for this problem? Something to stop the apps updating to the latest versions? I have to say that this thing happens even if stay on 167 or if I upgrade to emui12.
Many thanks to all of you who took from their times to read this !!
I had the same issue with the This device isnt play protect certified, i basically used the newest ictfix.net method to get rid of it, its basically a mix of Google Play Services Apks and a mix of erasing google play apps data to make it work..

I did this but it comes up again after 24hrs or so. The only fix i have figured out is to use an older version of google play services, this way it won't update itself back to the newest that shows up device is not certified. The only problem i have with it is that instagram message notification won't show up, and push notifications for ig and some other apps not all, come up with delay.
