[App] [7.0+] Access Dots - Android 12 / iOS 14 privacy indicators (Cam/Mic/GPS) for all! - Android Apps and Games

Download now from Google Play Store! If you like the App, please leave a review on Play Store!
Hey Guys! Developer of Energy Bar/Ring/Notch here! Just done developing a cool little App which basically ports the Android 12 / iOS 14's indicators for camera and microphone access, to Android, all the way down to Android 7.0! (Bonus: GPS Location access monitoring included.)
Did you know that once you grant access to your phone's camera/microphone/GPS location to any third-party App, they can use it silently in the background?
And do you feel envious about the new iOS 14's privacy feature - shows an indicator whenever camera or microphone is accessed? Or you can't wait for Android 12's implementation of the same feature?

Presenting Access Dots for Android, supporting all the way down to Android 7.0!
Access Dots, adds the same iOS 14 style indicators (few pixels light up as a dot) to the top right (default) corner of your screen whenever any third-party App uses your phone's camera/microphone/GPS location. Access Dots will be visible even on your lockscreen!
Configuring the App is as simple as enabling the Access Dots Accessibility Service. By default the App is configured to show iOS 14 style colored access dots - green for camera access, orange for microphone access and blue for GPS location. The App itself does NOT request for access to camera or microphone, however, to be able to monitor GPS access by any App, 'Access Dots' require GPS location permission.

Access Dots is in early BETA, under development, so far it has the following features:
● Display Access Dots whenever phone's camera/microphone/GPS location is engaged by a third-party App.
● Maintain an Access Log, which can be accessed from the App's main settings screen. The Access Log shows when the camera/microphone/GPS location was accessed, which App was in foreground at the time of access initiation and how long did the access last.
● Assign any color to either of the Access Dots.
● On Android 10+, Access Dots by default sticks beside your camera cutout (if your device has.) You can configure the location of Access Dots to the point of specifying X/Y coordinates.
● If your device supports 'Energy Ring - Universal Edition!' App, then you can wrap Access Dots around the punch hole camera as well.
● The size of Access Dots can be adjusted.
Access Dots integration with 'Energy Ring - Universal Edition!':
While it's free to change the Access Dots' color to whatever you want, consider making a donation to support the development and have access to few extra configurations like changing the 'size' of the dot or its location on the screen.
Note: Please make sure the App is whitelisted under any kind of optimization setting your device has, if the App is killed from background by the System, you may have to restart phone to get the Access Dots active again.

Sounds cool and powerful!! Its necessary for a better privacy experience.

Wow, this is so cool. Thank you for making this. Can't wait to try it.

Yes! Will update as soon as it's published!

Can't wait to try this cool stuff.

Great!

It would be amazing to have a little circle around the camera holes.
But it's an amazing app, can't wait for the Play Store link !

Will the app also show witch app accessed the camera and when?

is it possible to do it with the help of notification led instead of showing it on screen?

Sadly a nessesary tool while so many apps take hidden access to cam or mic...
well done, a great idea that tool!!
A LED as alternative sign only single phones would have a benefit, except a OP7pro which has Horizon Light instead of, or similar phones
So your dots are the best choice as sinal or indicator ??

I've actually recently published an app which mimics ios 14 feature on playstore but lacked the exposure. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.skybloouu.micspy

Since this is using Accessibility Service can it introduce some lag? Especially in older devices.

I don't expect any, as the service itself doesn't listen for any kind of events from the App in use.

Usually the Apps doesn't/can't request Location access and automatically turn it off, so would be hard to isolate which App has accessed Location, may require some hacking around. Not planning for the time being.

Its great idea. Is there workaround to use phone's own notification leds instead of statusbar.
Even if not. Its good as many apps suspicious asks for so many permissions.

Excited
Now i won't have to install and keep the apps to block camera/microphone.

Namaste. So where's the link, sir?

Sounds /lookes like a Great app! Subscribed to the thread!

Amazing!!
Waiting for it to be published!.

There are hundreds, if not thousands, of baby friendly contents on web, app, YouTube, and other video source. The app allows you to open any of those contents for your baby and protect your phone from being destroyed by baby random clicking.
*******************************************************************************************************************
Features:
★ Block touch on any apps, including YouTube and browsers (video playing without problem. I haven't find any app that doesn't work with this app yet)
★ Block home, back button, recent-app button, and menu button
★ Lock volume
★ Easy unblocking with options
★ Even works on lockscreen to prevent calling to 911
★ Option to "Keep screen on" while blocking
★ Option to "Lock orientation" while blocking
★ Super simple start. Only need 20 seconds to fully understand how it works
★ Super optimized; next to zero memory and CPU usage
★ Tiny app size
★ No ads; that's right, no ads
★ No sneaky permission, only 2 basic ones
★ No data usage, it doesn't even need internet access permission
★ No sign up, no email, no phone number, and no information is saved or required
*******************************************************************************************************************
Coming Features:
★ Option to allow interaction on running app in the foreground
*******************************************************************************************************************
Limitation:
This app does not provide baby content at this moment.
There are a few reasons:
1. ) I am not an expert at determining what content is the best for babies; I only want to provide what I believe is the best.
2. ) There are so many baby content available everywhere already.
Other notes:
This app does not block power button.
Volume lock is to revert volume changes.
If somehow you can't unblock after start blocking, you can press and hold power button to restart phone and that will fix it.
I have tested this app on as many phones and apps that I can, but if you do find an app or a phone that this is not compatible with, please email me the phone model, android version and the app link, so I can test it and fix it.

Is it possible to configure the app to auto engage when a particular app is running? so for example if Youtube is started the the notouch app activates?
Also, is it possible to have it startup automatically on device boot so that it is running and active by "default"?

Thanks for your interest.
Regarding auto engage, is it that really useful? Currently it doesn't have that feature, because it only takes 1 swipe from the notification and 1 tap to activate.
Regarding auto startup on boot, it might be a bit too dangerous. For example, if you somehow can't not unblock it (For example, someone sets it to 10 taps/sec to unblock), then your last way to get pass it is to do hard reset which is holding power for 10 seconds.
But auto start up the notification is possible. I might add that in, just don't want to pollute the UI with 20 options that general moms don't know how to operate. I might add in an advanced option category in near future.
Thanks.

Sorry for using this thread for this, but I don't think so. I have an app for children on my tablet with pictures and spoken names off different animals. My nearly 2 year old daughter loves it, and actually she can name most of the animals clearly and instantly. I think the point is what kind of content you show to little kids and how long you let them play with it.
Swyped from my incredible Sony Xperia Z with Tapatalk 4
http://www.aap.org/en-us/advocacy-and-policy/aap-health-initiatives/pages/media-and-children.aspx
Confirms partly what I said, content and duration must be under parental guidance. But I think even kids under age 2 can learn from both: people AND media. And now let's stop hijacking the thread.

There is a bug currently when unblocking if Unblock confirmation is not set. A new update will be released to fix that later today. Please enable unblock confirmation before using it for now.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hi!
Is it possible to have the app lock input for 0.5-1second after turning the screen on? I have a bug on my N5 that causes shadow presses when the screen is unlocked. Setting a lock pattern solves this on one side but when the light sensor turns on/off screen during a call it still causes erratic behavior.
Thanks.

Master device doesn't use battery.
Tracked devices do but only when tracked in real time and just for that time. There's no background process or wakeups.
Passive tracking barely uses any battery instead, you can track passively all added devices by just swiping down/refresh main window.

Thank you. What about GPS? Does it have to be in full precision mode or it also work on battery save mode or GPS only mode?
By default, when configuring tracked devices, it will ask for full precision settings.
Nothing prevents you from switching to a lower power settings after that.
You will be warned though when you try to track down any device whose location settings aren't satisfied so you know why location may be inavailable or inaccurate.

hi, thanks very much for the nice review
I've got many during the years for many projects but many didn't caught the very essence sometimes.
You actually deeply pointed out all the things i'm actually trying to accomplish with this app and the small differences with others. Thanks again.
About the hide icon feature, i've implemented a secret code at first but then realized not every device got a dialer app , so went with a remote command.
It's done and works ok, i'm just holding the update a bit cause i understand too frequent updates for an app like this can be a bit tricky due to the multi device tracking nature.
Will push it soon though.
If user will hide the icon then How will they open it? I mean it will be hidden. Short code will be awesome

Welcome to Frost for Facebook!
Notice on Play Store removal
Main web page
Downloads through Github
Frost for Facebook is also available through F-Droid
Frost is a fully themable, fully functional alternative to the official Facebook app.
While being a web wrapper, Frost contains many unique and native features such as:
• True multi user interactions - More than just an option in a settings menu, Frost's account switcher is right in the drawer. You are one tap away from switching accounts, and everything refreshes on the switch so that you can view other accounts instantaneously. Furthermore, the notification service will fetch notifications from all accounts, and will let you know which account has the new notification.
• Better multitasking - Frost contains an overlaying web browser that can be drawn on top of your foreground task. Open links and notifications with a full screen view, then swipe away to get back to your previous task.
• Contextual awareness - Frost integrates additional features via long presses. Need to copy a block of text or share a link? Long press the text. Need to zoom into an image or download it? Long press the image!
• Material Design - Built for lollipop and up, Frost focuses strongly on a beautiful and functional UI, and embraces material transitions and dimensions.
• Complete theme engine - Frost contains very comprehensive themes that customize all components of the app. Frost is also the only app to support transparent themes.
• Fully opened - Nothing speaks for privacy more than being open sourced. Frost is proud to be one of those apps, and can be found on github (Link in the app's about section)
• Fixes the little things - Frost is community driven, and many tweaks are added to address minor inconveniences and give a full native experience, despite being a web app. To list a few:
   • Focusing on a text input will prevent refreshing, so you don't accidentally swipe and lose your progress.
   • Horizontal swipe can be enabled along side the viewpager swipe with a simple long press
   • Automatic bug reports are sent when a crash is detected, so even if you don't contact the devs, you are helping contribute by using the app.
Mandatory permissions used and why:
• Internet, Network State, Wifi State - Frost fetches the pages from Facebook's mobile website. It also needs the network state so as to limit internet usage when you are on a metered network.
• Receive Boot Completed - Frost notifications persist on reboot, and need this permission to be added each time.
• Vibrate - Needed to vibrate phone for notifications; this can be toggled in the settings
• Billing - For purchasing pro and unlocking all of Frost's features
Optional permissions used and why:
(these are only requested when they have to be, and are disabled until then)
• Read/write external storage - Needed to upload photos in a new status and save photos when prompted
• Fine/coarse location - Needed for the check in option if users wish to search for their location
• That's it! No privacy intrusion and no extra demands.
Permissions NOT used and why:
• Wakelock - Frost takes advantage of Android's Job Scheduler, and lets the framework decide when to run background services. Frost therefore doesn't need to constantly run in the background, nor does it force your phone to stay awake.
• Retrieve running apps - Frost has no need to access external apps or see what else is running
• Identity - Frost manages its accounts internally and uses it solely to give you access to your account. We don't depend on other personal information and we don't even save your email.
• Camera - While the camera permission can be added to allow you to directly take photos and upload them, we've decided that it would be best to allow you to do so externally and then share the photo with Frost
* Frost is a third party app and is in no way affiliated with Facebook Inc.*

Frost is primarily distributed through XDA Labs (and no longer through the play store). The app is completely free and open sourced. All that I ask is you rate the app if you like it and give me feedback if there are issues so I can improve it .
Alongside the release builds, there are automatic builds which are generated with each commit. Use this at your own discretion.

Types of posts typically have different classes of attributes. You can use that to your advantage to filter out air you don't want to see. The downside is you are loading a lot of content that you don't actually need.

Even though the app itself is fully themable, I wrote it with substratum in mind. Overlays can replace the splash color, which should change the splash screen color.
I can add options in the future to toggle this without other modifications, but they have to be hardcoded and the activity package will need to be switched.

I've talked with the dev of swipe before. If you want my honest opinion, I can't say that Frost is objectively better (right now). My app was made about 4 months ago, and I'm a full time student. Swipe was made well over a year ago, and is now the dev's full time job. We do have different backgrounds, and my background allows me to perhaps better structure my app, but the time difference means that swipe has more features than mine at the current stage. Some features are on my todo list, but it'll take time.
With that said, our apps offer different features. I don't have PIP Videos or Chat heads, but I have a lot of the points mentioned above. Some of them are exclusive to Frost as well. I'd say Swipe did a very good job in being innovative in this field, and I'm sure Frost will become another contender among its competitors.

Are they open source? Do you have a link? I stumbled across an accidentally feature that did that a while ago, but now it isn't working. If it's something feasible I may consider implementing something.

I've seen your request on github. I still have to change some things before it's compatible, but hopefully it will make its way there eventually.

Wow... thanks for the info. Within the past half hour I've received 4 one star ratings because of this and I wasn't sure what was going on. Hopefully Facebook fixes itself...

No worries dude. Yea those normal users do love to one star for reasons out of the devs control. Even though im yet to see facebook loading, it still looks beautiful. Love the transparent theme, fits perfectly with Quetzal Dark.

You're welcome! Hope it serves you well. I know it's not perfect, but without root/Xposed we are verrrryyy limited in what we can do!
First off great app, been wanting this feature for so long just for getting at the notification bar.
Is there any way to assign this to a command to be used with a button in the Navigation bar?
Could you add a "toggle" option as an activity for use as a shortcut with Nova Launcher etc. Attached a screenshot for detail.

Is it possible to launch to toggle the one handed mode using an intent? I'd like to toggle it using a button on my navbar

Thank you guys! Cannot test it as I don't have a PC at my hand ATM. May I help by translating the app to German? It's more a guessing thing right now, trying to find out what the welcome pages are trying to tell you

Strange, German should be translated. Is it a bad translation?
Xperia Z5 Premium, bone stock 7.1.1. I paid for more features the moment I activated it.
This is honestly amazing. Great for one handed, although...
Attch 1: Sorta works on Twitter. Only half of the reduced screen size is used in the main screen. When you view a profile, the "dead space" is filled by the colour of the header photo.
Attch 2: Nova Launcher, Tumblr, and iYTBP work excellently on the reduced screen mode.
I hope there's an easier way to launch it. A Quick Tile or make it play nice with Custom Navigation Bar.
More power to the developers!
Make it clear please, that the app won't function at all without paying for it!

It does work, you can activate the one handed mode from inside the app and then continue what you're doing inside other apps. But I agree the toggle should be available in the free version...
The resizing could be still paid imo

You can use the button at the bottom of the main page to enable one handed mode. Then go to your favorite apps and see how they look. The only part that is paid is the floating bubble that lets you easily toggle one Handed Mode
Next update will add an intent that can be called at com.xda.onehandedmode.action.TOGGLE_OHM and a launcher shortcut.
We will also work with the developer of the Custom Navigation Bar app so you can toggle One Handed Mode using a nav bar key.
App could be "worth it" just to adjust dpi. I used Xposed, AppSettings to do this on an app by app basis. Life-savor on my old small phone. The Xposed module did not slow down the screen refresh but did require root, of course.

That's outside of the scope of this app and doesn't make sense to add to this app, but that doesn't mean it can't be done in another app

There's something preventing it from working on oreo with Magisk 14.3 then. I've gave it root access but the settings won't even let me turn the "start at boot" toggle
No other mods.. Apart from root I keep it as stock as possible
Lets put first things first.
Thanks for the promo code.
We need a Help and Feedback section inside the app. Help may lead to XDA and feedback may send a direct email to you with/without attachment and logs. A debug switch should also be there so that a debug log can be added.
Now, 1 major problem. The background colour of the remaining area should NOT be changed by app accent. Instead, it should be selectable or fixed to pure black preferably. This wil make the app look more natural.
Also, if you can hook into some advanced features if Root is available. Your app should have two modes. Either Root or Rootless. This will make the things more efficient.
As you promised a toggle intent, that's welcome as it's more convenient to use by event using tasker or automation tools that can call to an intent.

"Start at boot" is for the overlay service. All of the settings being disabled is a bug that will be fixed in the next version. If you purchase, you can access them, but if you don't want to do that, the update should be out tomorrow.

The blackout overlay is fixed in the upcoming version.
What other features are there with root? We can't use it to fix the offset issue in some apps or anything like that.
The next version will have the intent, a shortcut icon, and a QS tile. @paphonb is also working to integrate OHM into Custom Navigation Bar.

You can mix and match icons from various icon packs and make it look cool.
It also supports bing wall papers, which can automatically change everyday.
It has fully integrated File explorer, which seamlessly blurs the boundary of apps vs files, in a nice easy to understand fashion.
Notification center will definitely take your breathe away:
Last but not the least, we recently integrated support for dual apps.
We are slowly but steadily adding more new cool features week by week, which will take your breathe away. Please bless our hard work by trying it out, giving feedbacks, and sharing with your friends and family.

Please check it out by going to play store and downloading com.InternityLabs.Launcher.WinX package.
When you press the start button, you will see the list of currently installed apps. By touching and holding an app, context menu will show up, which will enable you to move the app to desktop. If you touch and hold an app which is already on the desktop, you can move the app around to your favorite place. It is also possible to move an app to a new desktop through the menu that will pop up when you hold an app on the desktop.
Critical apps, such as phone, messages, camera etc can be pinned right at the start panel, which will provide you a quick way to access these apps. Once you are done configuring your pinned apps, this feature can be locked via the personalize menu preventing accidental unpinning.
The search button enables you to search for any app or the web using some in built options such as google, Bing, Facebook, Youtube, or Appstore. Once you find an app that you were looking for, you can locate that app on the desktop using the associated context menu.
You can further personalize your view by changing the grid size to provide more space for apps or increase the size of apps on the desktop. You could also change the background of your screen.
The system tray also has controls for Wifi, volume, battery status, date and time for easy control.
You can also create folders, widgets or shortcuts on the desktop menu.
Unlike some other launchers, we have worked hard to integrate notification support into the launcher by providing app badges. It can be turned on from Notifications control panel under ‘More Options’.
Don’t forget to rate and leave great comments. If you feel that you need some other feature, please feel free to write us an email. Our contact details are inside ‘about page’.

Is there a way to have the file explorer show files in folders that have the .nomedia extention? a view hidden file setting or something?

I don't think because I didn't find these anywhere. And the file manager is not even fully windows 10 style. But the overall performance is good, isn't it ?
it does work nice. on android, .nomedia files tell gallery apps not to look in that folder for pictures. its good for when you have stuff lile manga. this file vrowser recognizes this and ahows no media files
Is there a way to edit the "Start Button" Icon?
