Pixel 3a - need protective case with glass protector - Google Pixel 3a Accessories

I can not find a good quality drop-protective case with glass screen (not plastic film). I do not need waterproofing just good drop protection. Must have glass screen protector as all my plastic protectors are oil smudge prone. Any ideas are most appreciated.

This is a great deal at $9.95. it includes two glass protectors and so far is not bad. Hard to line up over the front camera port but had good drop protection and feels nice in hand.

Go with Spigen Tough Armor. Two drops on a concrete garage floor... No issues.
Get a "Lightning King" (L[emoji298]K) off Amazon for cheap. You get three glass protectors which have camera cut out. Easy install.
Nylo

i use a unicorn beetle pro for my case. i ripped out the case by submerging the case in warm water for a few minutes. the screen protector on this case sucks ass, but the case itself is fantastic.

Tempered Glass for s4 pros and cons over Film protectors?

What the pros and cons of tempered glass screen protector vs a Film screen protector?
My concern about the Tempered glass is that :
--it's adhesive is only on the bezel area and since sgs4 have smaller bezel so it might get detached easily
--Tempered Glass might scratch the glass beneath it
--If adhesive of the Tempered glass became less sticky Dust might accumulate inside
So can you tell me your experience with tempered glass screen protector? I really want to hear from someone who used this screen protector for long time and not on these reviews on youtube since they only used it on the time they review it.
And also does anyone tried using combination of Film and T.glass protectors?
i never bothered because they're so expensive and i screw up the screen anyways so the film type are more easily replaceable
ill probably end up buying 2 or 3 cases and end up using only screen protectors in most situations lol.
to me i rarely drop my phone but i have trouble keeping it out of my pocket with my keys and change, other things. ive been pretty good about it but not perfect.
First off my only problem with tempered glass on my S3 was that it messed with screen responsiveness... Now the ones for the S4 are mostly half the thickness of last years so that should help that problem a lot. The iLoome protector fort the S4 is fully clear and I assume it has adhesive over the entire surface. The sense of mind you get with glass is great. Plus the feel of glass is much better than that of other screen protectors. If you can find one that doesn't take away from screen sensitivity than i'd say it's definitely worth it if you care about your phone.

I have a "Flexible Glass Screen Protector" on my S3 that has adhesive all across the back. I have only removed it once in the couple month's that I've had it. I have not encountered any dust getting between the two pieces of glass. The adhesion has not deteriorated any either. I am very happy with it and I really am hoping I will be able to locate one for my S4. The only draw back that I have found is that the thicker protector limits the cases you can use. My favorite cover before I got the protector was the Seidio Surface case and it no longer can be used. I also like my Otterbox Defender case and I was able to "squeeze" it on after I removed the plastic protector that came on the cover. It's a tight fit, but it does work.

It isn't 6mm thick, that would be +70% the thickness of the entire phone! lol
Maybe 0.6mm, that would still be very thick for a screen protector.
Spigen film is the way to go... $14 for two protectors and easy to install...
Just watched a review of the Spigen Glas.tR and it is also CLEAR!

I had a glass protector on my GS3 (XGear Spectre, I think) and it worked fine - no loss of sensitivity. It did allow some tiny dust in, but it was easy to lift and wipe it out the couple of times it happened over 8 months. And the week before my S4 came in, I managed to drop the S3 on its face...the screen protector cracked, and the phone is still perfect. Looking at the Spigen one next week just because of that.

Okay, I found the ad for the flexible glass protector. I ordered it on eBay, this one is very similar even though it is for the Note 2: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Samsung-Gal...193&pid=100040&prg=1011&rk=1&sd=230950051927&
I love this screen protector and am hoping that I will be able to get one for the new S4.

I also had the one everyone was talking about at this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1920757
But, like someone said previously, it had adhesive only on the outside edges and dust or dirt could get underneath the protector.
I ended up breaking it on the corner when I removed it to clean beneath it.
That does look like a nice one.
I bought the Spigen Slim Glass screen protector and I am 100% satisified. Zero less in screen sensitivity and it feels smooth as, well, glass

That's awesome. Which one did you get? .TR or .T? I didn't like the one for the s3 but apparently this one is better as the adhesive is all over.

I got the tr, I think its the thinner of the two. Its definitely fully adhesive, I love it.

Spigen GLAS.t SLIM = non-rounded borders - (0.23mm) - thinner
Spigen GLAS.tR SLIM = rounded borders (0.4mm)
You're correct the t is the thinner material. Either way it feels great and installs fairly easily.
I had the glas for the s2, I LOVED(easy to clean the screen of finger oils) it, however, it attracted dust underneath the screen protector due to adhesive being only at the edges, I took it off after a couple of months. With the full adhesive, i will definitely buy again for my soon to arrive S4. Especially since I just dropped my s2 face down on the ground and broke the screen a couple weeks back (without case), the glas would serve as a shield.

[Q] Glass screen protector with TPU case? Good idea?

Anybody use one of the tempered glass protectors with TPU cases, or other cases you have to pop on and off? When I tried to use PET screen protectors with my Diztronic case, it just peeled up the corners and ruined the protector.
I'd like to put a tempered glass protector on, but the Diztronic has to come off regularly to remove dust. Will it cause fit problems or peel away/fracture the glass when I try to put the case back on? Suggestions in general for protection without getting some kinda bulky Commuter case are welcome as well. I feel like some kind of case is pretty necessary, as opposed to a skin, because I use my phone in a lot of gritty, dirty places, and while I don't drop it often, if it does go down, it's typically onto concrete. It's survived the past two years pretty much unscathed, but I want to keep it as my daily driver for at least a few more months.

TGSPs are typically smaller than plastic film ones, to ensure that they'll work with cases. I have the Redpepper TGSP on my Nexus 4, and it fits with all my cases, including a Diztronic.
I'm having Distronic TPU case and glass screen protector on my mom's N4, as there is a curve on the front panel the screen protectors would usually be even smaller than the actual screen.
And I'm having totally no problem with the screen protector and the case, except the uncovered thickness of the glass screen protector makes it relatively more noticeable than a plastic one.

The best screen protector

I'm at my wits end from breaking my screen for the fourth time. 3 of those time were with the invisible shield screen protector. The only thing that protector can protect my screen from is little scratches or nicks. Other than that? I say no way. What do you guys use as a better screen protector from a drop on the face. Because it doesn't take much for these screens to break. I mean, even the older phone's screen were tougher than these. I really wish there were otter boxes for the nexus.

I've got a 2.5D tempered glass screen protector on mine. A plastic film screen protector won't protect it from shattering from a fall, but a TGSP might, depending on how it lands. Of course, any drop on a corner, and the screen will break, which is why I keep mine in a case. Do you not keep it in a case? I use a Diztronic TPU, and never felt like it's under-protected.
Yes. I have it in a case but it's really not the best. I've just learned of ballistic cases that are really good. But I would like a tempered glass for extra protection. One that doesn't cover the camera or sensors on front.
I personally use a KWmobile film protector (cheap, does its job and it's pretty matte so not many reflections on the screen), and right now I am at my second flip cover. The first one got DESTROYED after taking all of the drops instead of the phone
But it's all about taste, I personally like flip covers as they make me look more professional
where get tempered glass protector from? all ones iv seen don't curve with the screen properly
I would recommend using skinzone's screen protector, high quality and protects good

Moto x pure otterbox protective screen removal?

http://www.otterbox.com/en-us/moto-x-pure-edition/defender-series-case/77-51811.html
Do any of you guys own the case above?
And know if the screen protector is removable?
Will a tempered glass protector work with this case?
Its removable. Its just held on by some glue on the inside. I have the pleson tempered glass screen protector and it works fine with the case.
It will work, just pop it out and put on your glass screen shield.
Can confirm that you can just pop out the plastic scratch guard and use it with a glass screen protector.
I might try the glass protector with mine eventually. All defenders i have owned. I eventually removed the plastic protector as they will inevitably get scratched. Despite the bulk, this is the only case I have found with a holster that doubles with a kickstand for the MXPE so I will stick with it.

A Case and GLASS protector combo suggestion/solution

This suggestion might not be a solution for everyone but life is a series of compromises I guess. I've bought half a dozen glass screen protectors(all the ones available on amazon) and several phone cases as I was unwilling to go without a full glass protector on my phone so this is the solution i came up with. Confirmed repeatable, I'm preforming this on my 3rd PH-1(pictures) while i write this. (don't worry, its not because they broke!)
So basically:
Orzero 9H glass screen protector + Poetic Guardian Case
https://www.amazon.com/Orzero-Essential-Tempered-Protector-Replacement/dp/B077XT5V7Z/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1539386003&sr=8-1&keywords=essential+orzero
https://www.amazon.com/Essential-Poetic-Resistant-Protection-Full-Body/dp/B078T3N1S7/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1539386315&sr=8-1&keywords=essential+poetic
The glass protector itself is the best of all the glass protectors i've tried so far but it still has its shortcomings. The glue is applied to the black thin line around the border which is ok on the bottom but the top is too thin. Once installed it "floats" around up top near the camera. NOTE: Eventually the glass gets the spotted rainbow effect in the glass center. Not noticeable once the screens on but some i know would like to know this before hand. Slick glass feel tho, no more finger printy then the factory glass. With a hard press you can move it around and recenter it but im sure eventually it will fall off left alone.
That is where the case comes in. The case is two piece, the bumper that is raised around the screen(inner case), overlaps and has a plastic cheapy protector glued in place.
Clean and apply the glass protector. Clean the edges of the glass protector and ensure its centered. Take the inner case and remove the cheap plastic protector that it comes with. LEAVE THE GLUE on the inner case. Install the inner case over the phone ensuring the protector is centered once again before pressing down around the edges firmly. Install remaining outer case rubber.
You now have an Essential phone WITH A GLASS SCREEN PROTECTOR!! The case is IMO not the prettiest but feels great, easy to grab and grip, cutouts and port covers all work properly, buttons are still clicky. My wife even likes it more then her retired iPhone, and that's saying something
Remember to press against the glass protector at the bottom mainly, if you need to remove the inner case so it does not lift.
Hope this helps those PH-1 owners who wish to enjoy the security of a glass screen protectors. :highfive:
Poetic's glass screen protector also works with the Tudia Glost case. I think that was posted in the cases thread some time ago. That's the combination I'm using now. So far the Poetic screen protector has stayed on very well. It has the same rainbow issue when the screen is off, but like you said, you can't see it when the screen is on.
Ya, i avoided that case since lots of reviews about the back cracking upon dropping it. Haven't seen the peotic brand glass protectors either but im sure this works with any protector and case with similar designs
