Wi-Fi Connectivity Issues on A530FXXSDCTG1 - Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018) Questions & Answers

My brother has recently updated his phone to A530FXXSDCTG1, and after that his Wi-Fi became unusable. It finds the network, tries to connect to it, but during "checking connection" phase it drops the connection. It is not a router issue, because other phones work with the router, and my brother's SM-A530F exhibits the same problems on other routers.
Tried factory reset - did not help. Tried flashing A530FXXSDCTG1 with ODIN - did not help. He wanted to roll back to A530FXXUCCTF2, but it turns out that you cannot downgrade bootloader, so he is basically stuck.
Has anyone experienced this issue? Any suggestions?

[Q] Strangely isolated WiFi issue

Hi all,
Captivate with Cognition 2.2B9.1.1
Android 2.2
Belkin router (it is at home so I can't get the model number right now)
The simple problem is that my captivate will connect to all of the other wifi networks that I use but it stopped connecting to the one at home. All other phones and computers in the house connect just fine. The interesting thing is that when you watch the connection status on the phone, it connects and then immediately disconnects and starts the handshake over again. I have watched this happen over and over again. Weird.
I first thought it was my router so I modified the settings by using different channels and security methods. No dice. I then reset my router to factory specs and still nothing. I want to blame the router but I am stuck thinking that it might be the phone. Is there a way to purge the WiFi and IP information? I would rather not dump my phone and restart if I can avoid it. Can this be done through a terminal app like other platforms?
Any ideas or similar experiences?
Thanks ahead of time.

So I dropped an updated Cognition Rom 2.3.b6 and solved the issue. Last night I cleared my RAM (level 1 and level 2) and when I got home the problem occurred again. Bizarre. Could I be clearing a cache that refuses to refresh? Ideas?

[Q] Wi-Fi connectivity issues

Hey guys,
I'm having some issues with my Wi-Fi connectivity on my N5 and it's freaking me out! :crying:
When I'm trying to connect to my home network, the Wi-Fi icon is getting orange after some random time.
Some times it gets back to white, some times it's not.
I know its a known issue but nothing seems to fix it.
I tried everything - reboot my phone, reboot my router, reboot into safe mode, forget the network and connect again, toggle into airplane mode and back, change Wi-Fi settings to connect only to 2.4 GHz, avoid poor connections, update my router firmware.
NOTHING worked!
The only thing I haven't tried yet is factory reset but I read some people saying it didn't help them either.
Only turning Wi-Fi off and than on again makes it "white" again for some other random time.
I'm running stock everything on a rooted device with Android 4.4.4 build KTU84P.
My Wi-Fi is working great with other devices in the network including a Nexus 7 2012 and some laptops.
And it seems that my Nexus 5 is connecting fine to other Wi-Fi networks.
It worked fine in the past and I think it all went wrong when I replaced my Modem.
Any ideas what else can I try?
Do you think maybe the Lollipop update will fix this annoying issue?
Thanks!
Forgot to mention (I guess it is obvious) - I can't connect to any website or run any network connected app when I'm "orange" (I know it means I'm not connected to google services).
Tried also to change my Wi-Fi channel. still not working.
Doesn't anyone have an idea what is wrong here?
This is really frustrating ... :crying:
Well, I'm kind of talking to myself here, but in case someone else is facing this annoying issue, here is what fixed it for me eventually:
Configure a static IP to my phone in the router configurations ! :victory:
Before that, I also tried to disable Wi-Fi optimization in the phone Wi-Fi settings, buy it didn't seem to help.

[Q] Wifi disconnect/reconnect every 5 seconds.

Issue pooped up recently, where it will successfully connect to my network, then disconnect, and reconnect, repeating every 5 seconds. Dev netice had been operating without any issue except for the ocassional launcher redraw of Lolipop.
Things that i have tried:
Rebooting Network
Connecting to diffrent wifi networks
Removing and adding wifi networks
Factory Reset
Flashing Radio
Flashing Factory Firmware
I am abosulutly out of ideas on what else to try except an RMA

WiFi cannot find any network

Two days ago the Wifi on my wife's N5 stopped working. When Wifi is switched on, it never detects any available WiFi networks. I also have a N5 and mine detects several including our home network. I have flashed the latest factory image, but her phone still is not detecting any networks.
Seems like it is likely a hardware issue, any ideas?
If a stock image and and factory reset don't help, try checking for loose connections.
If nothing works, I think it is hardware- related.

Wifi problems after Nougat update

Hi, since the nougat update I got last week, my phone is having problems connecting to Wifi.
It will connect fine, then if I leave the wifi connection I have and go out, when I return it won't connect. It can see the router, but refuses to connect at all. I then have to re-boot and it connects fine (a real pain when wifi calling is essential due to poor signal and I'm hopeless at remembering to reboot when I enter a new wifi zone).
This is happening at both home and work, so I don't think it's caused by the routers. Before the update the wifi connection in both places was absolutly solid. Really frustrated, has anyone got any ideas?
I'm currently "repairing" the software yet again to see if that helps, it's a bog standard non-rooted E6653 on EE
Try doing factory reset.
Yes try a factory reset.
I'm on stock Nougat and no such wifi issues.
However I did experience wifi connection (disconnection) issues on Marshmallow.
Don't restart your phone. Don't do a factory reset.
This is what you should do: Turn on Flight mode, then turn it off again. Wait for a few secs, done!
This saves you for some of the daily pain, while you are awaiting Sony's permanent fix. Unfortunatelly, Sony is persistently refusing to tell you how and when, would you believe it ...
I have exactly the same problem with my Z5, after the latest upgrade. Will try the airplane mode trick and hope that Sony will provide a patch.
I have the same problem. Turn on and off flight mode works.
same problem here
