Hi! I have a brand new Jabra 620s bluetooth-headset. When I turn the headset on and search for bluetooth devices on my computer I can see it, but I cant see it when I search for it on my touch pro.
What could be the problem here?
I had a similar problem last night (and have it quite often when i need to pair). It doesn't detect it until the 3rd or 4th time in which last night it didn't even detect it either. I power cycled the headset and my phone found it the first time.
Yeah, I tried rebooting my headset and my phone several times, but I still can't get it to work...
Figured it out... Had to hold in a button on the headsett to make it avaliable for new devices...
But new problem:
I don't get sound in the headsett when I play music. But when I make a call the sound is in the headsett. What could be the problem here?
Maybe its the settings in your a2dp profile?
I read this "Set-up of the 620's was simple enough, the headset unit is paired with the device that is streaming the music and / or a mobile phone. A smart move from Jabra allows the 620s to be connected to both a mobile phone and an audio device simultaneously. However our set-up was rather more straight forward than most as we used Jabra's own Bluetooth dongle that supports the all important A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) profile. Real life for most users is a different kettle of fish with support for A2DP being quite sparse, most music gateways and servers and even music ready mobiles rarely support the required profile." source: http://www.lordpercy.com/jabra_bt620s_review.htm
Maybe some tweaking in hklm\\software\microsoft\bluetooth\a2dp\Settings
I believe this headset also supports AVRCP profile. In any case, make note of your original configuration prior to making any changes.

You can use Advanced Config to enlarge the bluetooth bitpool under the bluetooth tweaks. Set it to "very high" for best sound quality (uses more system resources tough).
HTH
Maximum bit-pool setting is 1561. I dont think it solves the problem, cause the quality is still really bad.
Any other tips? Or do I have to return the headset cause a brand new ~1000$ phone cant play on a wireless bluetooth headset?!
Bump.. Are there really no solutions?
I do not have my Galaxy Tab Plus yet, I plan on ordering it soon from T-Mobile US. However, I am going to be mounting this tablet in my Dashboard of my car, I was wondering can someone who does have this device confirm for me that there is a way to connect an external input to this tablet?
For example, I would like to have a headphone (3.5mm) jack connected to the tablet on one end, and be able to connect it to the headphone jack (output) of an mp3 player on the other end, and listen to the music from the MP3 player through the Tablet. Please let me know if the Galaxy Tab Plus is able to do this.
Thanks in advance!
There's no external mic input for the P6210 7.0+. Not quite the T-mob version, but similar enough. A bluetooth stereo audio transmitter might be your workaround, mp3 player streaming via bluetooth to the 7.0+, assuming there is an app that can render the stream(don't know of any off hand).
Okay, I'll have to see what apps can render incoming Bluetooth audio for android then. I found the device I can use to do this through BT, http://www.miccus.com/products/blubridge-mini-jack.
Thank you for the information! I might just be better off waiting until T-Mobile gets some new tablets this year as well... we'll see, I am just pretty impatient and really excited to get this project going.
Hi all!
I wanted to open up a discussion about the new Oreo features for Bluetooth codecs in the developer section. I haven't been able to find a comprehensive guide or info anywhere that covers how it actually should work, and I don't believe it's working correctly - I would like to explore more with you.
I'm on a Google (carrier free) Pixel, using a fresh install of OPR6.170623.012 - which is working brilliantly by the way.
It seems to me that I can't make the settings stick, if I for example change the Bluetooth Audio Codec to aptX, or modify any of the other settings when I go back in it always reverts to the 'Use System Selection (Default)' option. I'm typically trying this with Bluetooth off, changing the setting and turning Bluetooth on. I've also tried rebooting in-between, as well as different variations. The developer toggle is set to on of course.
It may be my misunderstanding of how this works, but it even if I stay on the developers screen and change the codec, if I turn Bluetooth on and it connects to a device, for instance my in-car Bluetooth audio, which I believe supports aptX, it doesn't care what the codec setting is and displays 'Streaming: SBC', which is of course what I'd expect would be overridden.
The only thing that seems to stick is the AVRCP version. I'm wondering if the Bluetooth HCI snoop log will provide any information?
Have any of you had any experience with this, or have anything to add to the conversation?
Many thanks in advance,
OK so it seems this codec list doesn't allow you to set a 'default', it just allows for modifying the codec during playback?
What I've experienced so far is that it does work with 'Use System Selection' to use the best codec available on the device you are connected to. It also allows you to change the codec to another while streaming/playing. The sub-text under Bluetooth Audio Codec does dynamically change from SBC to AAC.
Example: My headphones support SBC and AAC, the Pixel defaults to AAC on establishing a Bluetooth connection but does allow downgrading to SBC by picking from the list (as a test).
It however doesn't retain whatever you pick in the list if bluetooth is turned off then back on, it basically always defaults to system selection, then auto-picks on every connection. Perhaps this is by design, it is developer tools after all.
I haven't been able to get this to work with aptX in my car yet with my Pixel, even though it is apparently supported?
Also of note: To achieve AAC on my Bluetooth headphones I had to put them into a 'Priority on sound quality' mode and also turn off the Bluetooth phone (i.e. call connectivity, music ONLY) on the Pixel connection to achieve AAC.
are you sure that your car supports aptx? before this developer option it was very hard to actually see the codec being used.
I believe so, the Bluetooth product states that it supports EDR and aptX, but yes, I cannot be 100% certain.
Are you suggesting it should be possible with Pixel and the Oreo build as-is?
Hi, last week I installed the OTA Android 8.0 update on my HTC U11.
Since this update the audio quality when streaming to my car's audio system or to my pioneer hi-fi system at home is a lot worse than on Android Nougat. Especially on tracks with a lot of high tunes. There's always a slight 'clink' noise. I don't know how to explain this in English..
Have you noticed this issue as well? Is there something I can do about it? Thanks
question are you using any sound mods?

Same for me. Since this update, the quality of phone call when connected to Bluetooth to my car is really bad. No problem with music stream connected to the same car.
I tried managing the new bluetooth options in developper mode menu but it doesn't solve the problem.
The codec used is all the time SBC even is I change it to AAC or aptX or AptxHD.

I have the same issue, it seems it was fixed in 42 version for US market(at least for LDAC)
I have 2 issues with Bluetooth connections with the car. The first is that it picks up interference from the noise of the wheels and engine while driving, and the sound quality suffers and it sounds unclear, unless I mute the vehicle.
The second is that it has a lot of trouble connecting to the car at times. Or, more often, it would not connect the media through the car. Don't know what's up with that.
I know how you feel
I've got exact same problem like yours. Although I'm using HTC u11 plus. My new pair of Bluetooth headphones have the same not OK audio quality. You're right especially the high tunes. I'm desperate, trying to reset everything, but doesn't help. If you find the solution, please let me know. Thank you.

Same issue here. I have the U11 as well and just updated to Oreo and I have the same issue as well. Music over BT was ok on Nougat but after the update, music sounds as if there is digital clipping. And it's there with both my headset and car audio system.
Got the same issue, hope they fix it soon. The only solution seems to do a RUU right now.
Btw. I am on a custom rom (LeeDroid), gonna go full stock and try again.
I would suggest looking in developer options and trying some of the different options for bluetooth in there!
Settings > about > software information > more > then tap the build number till it says you are a developer.
Then
Go to developer options and check under networking, there are some settings to toggle in there.
You may find something you are looking for! I personally haven't tried bt since the update so I don't know if it is a common issue. Good luck!
Thank you!
Thank you very much.
Playing around with the bluetooth options in the developer's menu solved this issue.
The audio quality through bluetooth is now pretty much the same as it was with the previous android os

Hey there!
Same problem for me since updating my U11 to Oreo - very poor bluetooth audio quality...
I tried using different bluetooth settings under the developer options but the thing is: no matter what I choose, it keeps switching back to the default values not affecting anything at all.
If it switch back to default SBC it means your headset/BT device doesn't support other codec.

That's not necessarily true. On 7.1 both Bluetooth devices which I use can support either AAC, SBC and aptX. My understanding is this issue occured because of the removal of AVRCP 1.3. I think Google added 1.3 back to Android 8.q because of this.

Yours is not necessarily true either. I'm on 8.0 and I can still use aptX if I want but only if my BT device supports aptX.

I'm not arguing that aptX and other codecs aren't working on 8.0. What I'm saying is that with certain devices, we are no longer seem to be able to use certain codecs that we could use prior. It's obviously device dependent, but to say their isn't a problem and blame it on the Bluetooth device is incorrect. Infact the same problem has occurred on non HTC devices when they've upgraded to 8.0 such as the OnePlus.

Fair enough, I didn't understand.
Does anyone know how to make the bluetooth options under developer options stick? I'm on stock unlocked Oreo, and they go back to defaults as soon as I change them. I've tried changing them whilst connected in the car, but no change. The only thing that could make a difference is that I'm running Pitch Black Substratum theme. Anyone else got them to stick?
In my Audi a3 2015 before oreo i can able to skip the track with entertainment commad and in the display i saw name of the track. After update i have lost all funtionality and the car see my device only like esternal suorce . Can i do something?
I was thinking of buying this phone, until I realized it "presumably" doesn't support the LDAC audio codec [Info from bluetoothcheck.com]. I want to know from an actual user, is this true? Because, I saw on YouTube, that for someone else it actually did work.
Any answers will be appreciated!
Why would you buy this phone to use with wireless earphones?

Well, mostly I would use the headphone jack, but, occasionally, at the gym or while running, it's more convenient to use bluetooth earbuds (And, I don't mean some kind of a mid tier ones, I would be using 1MORE ANC Pro EHD9001BA)

Cool I've been using the DTS:X thing for my bluetooth speaker...pretty good
I can confirm LDAC works with my Sony 1000XM3 headphones on both the V50 and G8.

I have also tried the the DTS:X feature on my LG V35, but for me, particularly, on wide instrumental or detailed (heavy metal, etc.) genre songs, it interferes too much with the sound equalization. Therefore, I like to keep it flat and original, but I understand the appeal/it's a personal preference.:good:

The Side to Side option works best for me. I listen to all kinds of stuff, also make some of own ?
Information for people who have LDAC headphones and cannot turn on this mode, and in Developer Options they have "Bluetooth Audio LDAC Codec: Playback Quality" greyed out
Applies to Android 11
You have to go to Settings-> Connected devices-> Bluetooth-> select the device - enter its settings (gear on the right) -> Connection type and change from Most stable on Best sound quality.
From now on, if the device supports - you can choose LDAC or AptX HD, which are inactive by default, because the phone pairs devices by default in "Most stable" mode.

Hello, I have the same problem on another device. For some reason, the "connection type" option accessed by clicking the gear isn't available on all devices.
I managed to make it show up on the WH-1000XM3, but I don't know how, and know that I'm using another similar device (Fiio UTWS5 for the curious), I'm stumped as to HOW access this option.
I did however, successfully forced aptX (not HD though) codec through developer options, but that's it.
May you help a noob?
Thanks!
Strange Question.
OFC yes!
