Hello everyone,
First of all it is so cool to stumble across this section of XDA with all of the community helping each other with Android Head units. It was so cool to see recommendations, suggestions, help, software updates, Custom ROMs, etc. so Thanks for all the cool post to read.
Now getting into my problem...
I purchased a Dasaita 10.2" Android 10.0 with the main intentions of using the CarPlay feature (Note: I am willing to use Wired CarPlay). Additionally would love the added features the unit provides for its price point.
However after receiving the unit and installing it, I can not get Apple CarPlay to work with a constant connection every time the vehicle is turned on. It takes a whole lot of tinkering to get it to connect; such as connecting bluetooth, headunit hotspot, headunit wifi, connecting with wire. Then once it is eventually connected CarPlay will work fine for the duration of the usage and any warm boots (turning the car off for a few seconds and turning it back on). It is so frustrating to get it connected because it is not straight forward or simple in any means. What is worse is that after the car is off for a good amount of time and I turn it back on, all is lost. zLink keeps trying to connect and bluetooth is definitely connected but it just won't connect. I have to tinker with it again, such as forgetting the device and forgetting CarPlay, trying to connect to bluetooth again and try to connect via wire, etc. Then eventually it might connect. There is just no specific instruction path to get it connected, just requires a bunch of different ways of tinkering to eventually it might connecting.
It has just been a pain to try and get CarPlay working, that was the biggest selling point for me to get this unit. If I can't get it working soon, it will be taken off the vehicle and returned.
Posting this here for help or possible leads to where to find help.

P.S.: I made a small post about this issue in the Dasaita update topic and I was provided with update files. Link to the post and fellow comments.
P.S. 2: Android Auto works flawlessly, connect the USB and that is it Android Auto is working.
Got it working!!!! ?
The issue was that my phone was on iOS 14 Beta. I downgraded to a stable iOS version and it is working fine every time I turn the car back on and any warm boots. It just works now no problems.
The other devices I tested on where also on a stable iOS version not sure why they did not work?? Maybe I just did not test it enough, good thing I slept on it and recollected the next day.
Can you use Car Play wireless?

Yes, CarPlay wireless works.
Due note I am now on iOS 13.5.1
Not sure if anybody here can help but I recently purchased a Dasaita PX30 it is running Android 10 but there is no ZLink installed. I am pretty sure this unit has wireless CarPlay compatibility: when I go to car factory settings under CarPlay it is selected to ZLink but again the ZLink app is nowhere to be found. I tried downloading the ZLink apk v3.5.56 and installing using external USB but it just comes up to ‘not installed’. Please help! Thanks

I have same issue from yesterday, I have IOS 14.0, how to down grade? Who told into downgrade to lower version?
I’m on iOS14 and I keep getting a “hardware err, No MFi #” when I try to run ZLink (CarPlay wireless I haven’t seen an official new update from Dasaita.
Anyone else have this same issue?

Hi, I have the same problem, I just installed the head unit today. Android Auto works but Car Play doesn't. Two different iPhones, swapped the iphone cable as well. The iphones have the latest official iOS release.

I had the same problem, CarPlay did not work with iOS 14, but after updating to 14.1 it started to work again.

Hi all,
I just installed the PX6 and everything works except Carplay. I have done everything that Dasiata on Amazon has instructed me to do. I can't get wired or wireless to connect. The main reason why I purchase this unit was for Carplay as well. I am on IOS 14.1. Any ideas?

*UPDATE*
Dasaita told me to update to MCU 3.65 and sent me the link. Now Carplay will work wirelessly, but will still not work wired. I realized that the way they have wireless Carplay setup to work sucks. I have to connect to the HU hotspot and Bluetooth to connect. Well, that keeps my phone from using cell data. Totally defeats the purpose. Does everyone have to connect that way?

So here we go. I have the solution that will allow you to connect to the Dasaita Hotspot and allow your phone to use mobile data. Finally, it works as it supposed to. This solution is for the PX6 with Android 10, MCU 3.65, and zlink.
1. Connect your iPhone to the Bluetooth
2. Connect your iPhone to the Wi-Fi Hotspot on the head unit.
3. Go to settings on the iPhone, then Carplay sections, and be sure that it connects to the head unit. Mine was called CAR-LINK, once connecting it changes to something like zjinnova-D310C
4. Go to SETTINGS and select Wi-Fi then select the blue INFO icon to the right of the name of your head unit hotspot connection.
5. Make note of both the IP address and the Subnet Mask address
6. Select the STATIC option and enter only the IP and Subnet Mask addresses from Step 5 -- (Leave everything else blank)
Boom, everything works as it should. I will inform Dasiata. This should be the first thing they tell you to try.

I’ve got the same version of firmware and software and running iOS 14.2. I am stuck on the step where you go to CarPlay -> General and connect to the head unit and the circle never stops spinning.
Does anyone know whether there is a fix in the works to make wired Apple CarPlay just work or if there is a more stable version I can try and roll my unit back to? This is quite annoying.

I’m having the same issue as you, have you been able to fix it ???
Mine is flames as well. Sometimes it connects fine. Sometimes not at all, but phone says it is connected to the car via BT.
I did get it to connect today but I need to test more. While it was stuck on Zlink saying connecting, I placed a call (to my voicemail) and zlink connected. Could be unrelated. More testing needed.
Would love to update this to android 10 or a newer official version of zlink.
Anyone else have luck getting wireless Carplay to work consistently? Initially, it did for me on my Idoing PX6 head unit (similar software and hardware to the Dasaita), but I feel like I did something to cause it to stop working. Now, when I power on my radio, my phone connects quickly to the bluetooth and to the AP (wifi hotspot), but ZLink never opens automatically like it should. When I open ZLink manually, it just sits at "connecting". If I disconnect bluetooth on my iPhone and reconnect it twice, then ZLink will sometimes decide to work and do its thing.
I will try the static IP idea. I noticed it was on "low data" mode for the AP, so I disabled that.
I updated firmware to MCU 3.69 and the system update is from 12/15/2020 I think. That didn't help.
I also have a Carlinkit USB adapter, not plugged in, that uses an app called Autokit. I was trying to use that a few days ago and it would eventually work, but takes like 45 seconds to finally connect.
I have tried forgetting my home wifi on my iPhone so it doesn't have to disconnect from it, but that didn't help. The connections all seem to work perfectly and it's just ZLink failing, but it's hard to say.
Hey man How’d You get apple CarPlay to work ? Mine hasn’t worked for 3 months

Wireless Carplay? The static IP stuff didn't help. The only thing that seems to work is toggling bluetooth connection on my iPhone with the radio after manually opening Zlink on the radio. It still doesn't always work then.
No matter what, the phone connects to both the BT and Hotspot of the radio every time, it just doesn't continue on to Carplay and Zlink doesn't auto-launch or connect after manually launching.
I've used my car a few times after leaving my Oneplus 6T in it, like a permanent connected phone, and it works. Sometimes I have to launch Zlink manually, but other times it has worked for Android Auto without me having to do anything. So far, this is the most convenient solution. I also paid for T-Mobile One Plus to get 20GB of full speed hotspot each month so I can mess around with native Android apps and stuff. Still not sure what I'm going to settle on doing long-term. I just got iOS 14.3 installed on the iPhone so I might go try again.

Hi,
Did somebody try to use an android auto function? My car (Peugeot 308SW 2018) and the phone not connecting with latest (8.1.0) android version. I tried to enable an USB debugging (as workaround recommendation), but nothing changed...
Have you other idea or working solution?
thx!

Yes, it works perfectly in my mid 2017 Kia Cee'd SW. Check if you have android auto enabled(i have the option to disable it and the apple car play). Also, the usb cable is working properly when connecting to a pc?
At the car side is enabled, at phone side i didnt found any additional options...
The best result was the android auto icon at phone appears and disappears continously with 2-3 different cables.
Is it possible the car head unit firmware not compatible with N7P latest SW version?

Doubt it. The car is from this year, it seems unlikely(to me) that the firmware wasn't up to date.
Stupid question, you have the android auto app installed on the phone right? Android has a Car Mode but to use android auto you need to install the app 1st(https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.projection.gearhead&hl=en). If the link says that you have no compatible device, download the latest version from here(https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/android-auto/)
For almost a year I thought my head-unit wasn't up to date as the android auto would freeze, the app would say that the head-unit wasn't up to date, waze would display random artefacts, etc.
Now with the N7p it is butter smooth, no funky stuff and way more responsive that when I was trying to use it with my Redmi 4 Prime(same cable but with a micro-b to usb c adapter)...
No issues with AA in Seat Ateca 2018.
Everything works like a charm.
For phonecalls, you need to select default sim first, otherwise the call hangs on a sim selection prompt on the phone.
I write to nokia support and they send:
- clear the bluetooth cache
- do a soft reset
after this steps working fine...
what is Bluetooth cache?

Do you install android auto app on your smartphone ? some lands doesn't have android auto on the play store, so you need to download manually on apk mirror web site (arm64 version)
A good quality cable is also needed.
I'm having similar issues.
This phone won't work in both my VW cars.
If I clear all settings it works fine.
I get to my destination, unplug and then when I head out on my next trip it doesn't. Just a blank screen on the head unit and the phone has the green screen saying launch Android Auto on the head unit.
Tried the BT cache clearing as above. Will try a factory reset of the phone shortly too otherwise wait for pie and if still no go then sell the phone which I will miss
Though can't work without Android Auto now
It is definitely problem with Nokia 7 plus. In my car it connect and after few minutes black screen and solution is only disconnect and connect again.

I've found the bluetooth with my N7P poor anyway. This is my second one and the same as the first.
All HMD will do is send you a list of the bluetooth protocols they support.
So you may need to change your car ?
My 7+ works perfectly now.
Enable USB debugging and disable the extreme power saving settings.
I recently purchased a PE98MTVPL, headunit.
Generally happy with it but there are a couple of issues.
1. It initially connected to my wifi, but now it won't even see the router. I started by not re-connecting to the router. I told it to forget the router so I could try and get it to reconnect and now it doesn't even display my router in the list, but it does offer me other people's routers to connect to though. My phone is getting full signal from the router when I am in the van next to it.
I've tried doing a network reset, but it doesn't work - the system retains all the old network information.
I've also tried doing a factory reset and that does nothing at all.
2. I have been able to connect one phone and the ODBII dongle via bluetooth, but it won't let me pair anything else, even though the bluetooth is registering that a device is available.
Again network reset and factory reset don't seem to get rid of anything.
3. The DAB reception is good when stationary both with the engine on and off. But when moving there is loads of feedback whine whenever the steering wheel is turned, which makes it pretty much useless.
What did Xtrons support suggest?
No response as yet. I have asked them the same question. Will post their response when I get it in case it helps anyone else.
So the response from Xtrons was to send me a link to a firmware update file. I've downloaded and tried to install, but the update fails at the 'mcu update' stage. I've asked Xtrons for advice but no response. I suspect the update fail is something to do with how the files are structured on the SD card after I've unzipped them. Any advice?

I have the Xtrons PE88jccpl (Android 8, Octa Core) sometimes the wifi connects perfectly but other times getting authenticating, authentication errors. Also, having problems with the speed when its connected it starts out fast and perfect but slows down to .2 to .3 mbps after a couple of minutes. Xtrons support sent me a link to update and I updated both MCU and android but still getting issues. (I put the img and update.zip on a usb stick and once I inserted it asked if I wanted to update) Not sure if I am supposed to wipe the device after updating android

Format your SD card in FAT32, then copy the dmcu.img on on your card (nothing else should be on there). Once you pop the card in it should automatially ask you if you want to update. If not go to settings, there is a button "mcu update" try that. If that doesnt work go to recovery mode and choose mcu update.

Yes unfortunately this does not work well on these units. I have tried it with different wifi sticks and different phones, It never runs stable. I ve also tried variuos MCU versions and ROMS (stock and custom). As soon as you disconnect it (eg leaving the car) it might not reconnect (sometimes it does sometimes it doesnt). What helps is to change the password for the hotspot and then reconnect with the correct password. IN that case it somehow goes through the whole registration routine again and almost always connects. But obviosuly thats not a convenient solution. It is an extreme shame that something so simple does not work on these units. Using a 3g stick (not using wifi) works slightly better but still incredibly unfortunate and not understandable that this is not properly implemented. Every smartphone in this world can access the internet through a simcard without any problems:crying:
I recently updated and wiped the android and mcu provided by Xtrons, its reconnecting successfully finally after sleep. However, I am getting speed issues still, after a couple of minutes of driving it slows down to .2 to .4 mbps.

Do you mean a 3G/4G plug in one? I've thought about it, but my current phone supplier won't let me have an extra sim. If you mean an external wifi unit instead of the built in one, then no I haven't. The box only has two USB inputs, and one of those is for my DAB+, and the other I use for connecting phones etc. I don't know if it would help though.
The problem seems to me to be something to do with the way the unit is handling IP addressing. I don't know if an external wifi unit would change that. When I gave my the Xtrons unit a fixed IP address on my home router it would re-connect without any issue. For some reason the head unit doesn't seem happy with the IP address changing.
I got TE706PL and the wifi turns itself off I have done the firmware and mcu update and it still does the same thing

I'd like to use [Android 4.1+]Proxy/GateWay for Android Auto to get wireless android auto on a VW Mk7 Golf MIB2 infotainment head unit. I don't yet know much about android sticks. I prefer to use an android device that has no battery since it will be plugged into the car 24/7. The AA gateway author had some success with MK809V and MK808B. I was wondering if there is anything newer/faster that would also be recognized by the car's head unit via the usb cable? Support for 5 ghz wifi would also be good.

I'm interested in the same thing. To prevent stuff blocking android auto functionality I think it owuld be best if it is possible to install a custom rom on the stick so there is a plain clean android that is not restricted to media stuff or something or missing settings for wifi hotspot, usb, AA in the menu.
But this forum does not have the explicit custom rom section, so I didn't find what I am looking for.
Does anyone know about sticks that are easy to root, open bootloader and maybe from a known vendor?
I have OP7 PRO running android 10 and stock Oxygen OS (not root).
When I pair my device to my car bluetooth set everything works fine, but once the connection is lost it will not auto-reconnect the next time i'm in my car.
Moreover, in order to connect again i need to do the pairing again (not just select the device from the existing devices list).
I saw tons of threads online about this with no solution, some mentioned they think it's an issue with android OS and not the phone itself (this is supported by the fact that my wife just got a new Xiaomi and have the exact same problem).
Does it make sense that this is a global Android issue and has no fix for such a long time? did anyone experience it and managed to fix it?
I would guess at an issue with the car Bluetooth. May be theres a firmware update for that ?

That was my first thought, but it seems that the issue is on the device side as i can see that after connecting the device doesn't appear in the previously connected devices list.
As if the phone forgets it for some reason.
I've had occasional problems too. I'm using Launcher 10. Just last week, I turned on my wifi before starting my car as usual. It connected, then disconnected 2 times and then was stable. There's been times where I'll restart my car to fix it. It's irritating but who knows what can be done about it.
I have a rooted stock op7pro and I have a Samsung active2 watch that randomly disconnects and reconnects once or twice an hour. I have battery set to all Samsung apps on my phone to not optimize battery usage and I have no idea why it does this.
Sent from my OnePlus7Pro using XDA Labs
I have understood that it's also possible that it depend on the order in wich you connect.
You should first have to connect the car to the phone instead of the phone to the car.
Iow have the car lookup the phone
Yes, i head a lot about people with flaky connection but i hope that was the situation, for me it won't reconnet 100% of the times.
Changing the order of connections didn't work.
Hi,
I just updated to the Android 13 OTA on the S22 Ultra (VZ, USA). All of a sudden my android auto stopped working. Wireless completely. Before AA wireless would connect to my car within a few seconds of my head unit booting up. Now it just waits at "Connecting". It knows my phone is available, but doesn't seem to want to connect.
If I plug in the phone, it works for all of ~20 seconds before disconnecting. If I just simply reconnect the cable it works again, 20-30-40 seconds before disconnecting.
Before the 13 OTA, it was working perfect, no disconnects on wired or wireless. So I 100% know it's not the cable or my headunit. Literally last night it was working, now it's not.
I checked sleeping apps on the phone and AA or Maps is set to never sleep/not optimized. Not sure what else might have changed.
I've uninstalled/reinstalled/cleared cache etc of AA on my phone. still nothing.
I fully reset my headunit to factory settings, I've done the network reset on my phone multiple times. I'd -really- like to avoid having to fully wipe my phone and try from there...
Has anyone run into this on their newly updated S22? Tips?Suggestions?
Thanks!
Me too. S22 ultra. Car is Mercedes A250 e. It's only a few days I have the car and I was able to connect only with usb cable in Android 12. I don't know if it is a limitation of the car not to be able to connect in wireless mode. Yesterday after OTA upgrade to android 13 I get the error unable to connect to android auto in the MBUX of the car.
