PX5 no volume knob response after wrong mcu update - MTCD Android Head Units Q&A

Hi ,
i tried to update the mcu LY with usb stick but i forgot to cancel the dmcu.img of previously GS radio that was in the sd in GPS slot. So the mcu system updated the GS file and not the LY. The system restarted correctly but i had the alert on android "wrong update" in red. So i updated the mcu to the correct LY dmcu.img file , but now the volume knob give me no response and i don't have the original dmcu.cfg to restore.
What i can do? Thanks

Hello, I am a nubee to this forum and the Asus TF700T that I own. I selected the wrong firmware update(WW_epad-10.X.X.X_2012xxxx now pending an install on my system tray) needed US_epad-10.X.X.X_2012xxxx. Can anyone tell me how to eliminate the pending update. Thanks ... Tony
What do mean you selected the wrong firmware? Is this something you did for an ota update?
Sorry can you give more details please.

Yes, I went to the Asus site using my TF700. After I entered Android for the OS prompt, I selected download firmware. There were 10 files. Next - the screen wouldn't display the full list of available selection on my Tablets screen. I tried to move away with a swipe and the first selection(WW_epad-10.X.X.X_2012xxxx), the only selection displayed, began to download. Other than shutting off the WiFi I couldn't stop the download and it now sits in the system tray of my tablet waiting for me to installed it. From what I can tell the firmware update I should have selected was US_epad-10.X.X.X_2012xxxx. So, it is my thought that if I allow WW_epad-10.X.X.X_2012xxxx to install I may render the Tablet unusable. If screen shots help I am sure I can get them to you provided that I have effectively explained the situation. Since I am a newb I can't enter the Asus URL for your convenience. But, Thanks for the reply. I can use the help. Regards Tony (T-Con)

Go to the file manager or the downloads app and delete the downloaded file from sdcard/download. Then redownload the correct one. The notification is not a prompt to install but notification of a downloaded file.

So, I select file manager. It takes me to > Internal Storage and shows a small folder icon with back arrow / sdcard /
I tap the back arrow folder and slide/scroll down to root folder.
Tap root folder and there is nothing there.
Thanks again. Tony(T-Con)

Ah it looks like you have downloaded the ota file manually. Not sure how to progress now. It's stored in the cache somewhere. Do a search on here about applying incremental ota updates manually and you will see some posts that instruct you how to reset the download.

K thanks! I have also put in a req. to Asus for help. If I don't find an exact instructional resolution on this issue I will call Asus for help. Thanks again and best regards. Tony (nubee T-Con)
first. you should have postet it to the Q&A.
Second: if you've downloaded the file from the asus site, it should be a zip file. which you would find by opening the app drawer, open "downloads" there the file will be, you can delete it.
then the message won't show up again.
then make sure every app is installed, that was installed when you buoght the pad.
tehn go to "about phone" update and check for updates, maybe try several times. then an update should appear, install it. repeat until you've the latest version
if that doesnt work, check out the summary in android general in this forum, and look for update ota without losing root, there you should find the ota packages and how to manually apply them

This method relock bootloader.
Yes, its C432, CLT-L09, i delete the L29 folder, pluged the otg, was verifying the package and said, error verifying, but after that bootloader bricked, i cant do nothing i sent the phone to huawei warranty.
I think it was because the phone had low battery, only 30%, and the update was stopped with no battery, so remember to update with full battery
Hello guys, has it worked for anyone else?
Be careful what you download and where from. A version I installed worked perfectly but locked my bootloader.
Version 9.1.0.311
For me I didn't save my code so I'm screwed.
Don't really care because I'm selling it. But just a heads up.

And Then?
In Factory settings click "Export" (if you can do it...). Copy the resulted cfg file to stick, near to img.
Okay cfg and mcu IMG? Both?
Yes, both.
Does it Matter that i only have an mtcd 2.56 hla With a cfg from 2.47? Or not?
It doesn't matter !
It doesnt Work, what can I do now?
Factory settings; knob
I cant Access it, because of the permanent Volume Control :/
1.What mcu.img did you used to upgrade ?
2.Erase mcu.img from stick, leave just mcu.cfg. Reboot to recovery, update mcu, choose mcu.cfg.
3.If your PC device it's connected through CAN-BUS adapter to your car, try to disconnect this adapter...
1. MTCD HLA 2.56
2. It doesnt Work :/
3. I will try
Did you tried with your old (original version) mcu.img ?? Or, at least, an different , lower, version, not 2.56 ?!?
I Cant find my Old Version in the Internet so i cant try it.
But Ive tried 2.41 and 2.45 for example but the Problem was'nt solved
Check your mail for 2.56.
Ive tried the Same, but the Problem wasnt Solved.

Question File to update MCU

Hi All,
I wanted to find the file that I need to use to update my Head Unit, had an issue and it displays an error saying "Canbus Serial port:/dev/ttyS1 was used! !" and unabled my steering buttons.
Does anybody knows which file or where can I look for it?
Thanks in advance!
MCU Version: 2021.03.16 18:42:45 NOR_812_F2N_G23P32f32_Ver: 1.0(FYT)
Device: sp7731e_1h10
And what did your reseller say?
I would not simply write another MCU firmware over my head unit.
And how did this happen? Did you already flash it with another firmware?
I chated with the reseller and indeed told me that I had reload the can Box files, for such thing, unfortunately after many atempts asking for such file the reseller simply would not provide such file, thats why I try to research for an alternative download.
being completly new to this I was playing around with the configurations and tried to upload a new firmware without having selected any , so I guess the configurations messed up afterwards.
I have seen many different firmwares for the head unit , but the head unit works fine excepting the steering controls , so I am not sure if I have to update the firmware of the entire headunit, or the MCU or the CAB Box configurations.
Is there any known library or repository for many known versions of such firmwares so I can take the closest one to it? and hope to not trash the entire head unit?
Thanks in advance!
Your s7731 is less wide spread than the uis7862 or uis8514. There are not so many and not so many in this forum. In this case you might take a look on 4pda.
did you find any solution ?
i think have same radio as you
Where did you get your ?
Any luck finding a newer MCU update ?

While my device and also @royo210 's device use another type mcu chip here below is a picture for

this is caused by BSP Serial Debug option in Developers Settings. Disable it and never enable again
do not try to flash any mcu firmware just for fun, you might not be able to revert this back and i think 100% this won't help you with steering wheel buttons
Does someone who can help me to find the firmware and the MCU for this one?
