This method relock bootloader.
Yes, its C432, CLT-L09, i delete the L29 folder, pluged the otg, was verifying the package and said, error verifying, but after that bootloader bricked, i cant do nothing i sent the phone to huawei warranty.
I think it was because the phone had low battery, only 30%, and the update was stopped with no battery, so remember to update with full battery
Hello guys, has it worked for anyone else?
Be careful what you download and where from. A version I installed worked perfectly but locked my bootloader.
Version 9.1.0.311
For me I didn't save my code so I'm screwed.
Don't really care because I'm selling it. But just a heads up.

Hi. The link to b023 doesn't work. I'm on b021, rooted and removed some of the bloatware. If I update to B023 will I need to root again and remove the bloatware over again? Thanks!
For rooted devices with original bootloader restored, is it necessary to remove supersu binaries or re-lock the bootloader before updating?

You can't unroot and update OTA. I tried and it doesn't work. Unroot only removes the supersu but it doesn't restore the partition that's why the OTA will fail. The only way is to flash a full firmware then update the OTA from there. Alternatively, you can flash the system.img but this only works for full rom updates.

HI Letschky, thanks for the reply. This is a very useful and comprehensive resource! Thanks for putting that together
Unfortunately this does not currently include a Huawei direct link for GEM-703L B112 but only B109. Might you have this for B112? That would be amazing if so.
Never mind, the B109 link is now automatically a B112 link and I believe I have what I need!
Thanks again. To flash this, do I just download it onto a desktop and use HiSuite? Would this remove and reflash EVERY partition on the device? I am looking to flash because I bought this phone second-hand from someone who has already locked the bootloader and I want to be sure it is completely safe.
Thanks.
Download,Copy the Update.App in internal or external Memory in dload Folder, you have no dload folder then create this folder.
Go in settings to Updateprogram -Menu-Local Update and choose the update app and wait until it makes a reboot

Thanks. I had just another couple of quick questions.
* As I said above I bought this device second-hand with the bootloader already unlocked. I then used the Vol Dn + Power to do a wipe on cache and data, and shortly thereafter downloaded and installed update B112 via Settings -> Updater. How is it that Google Services Framework is a system app under "Networked apps"? This leads me to believe my system partition is not "stock" from Huawei.
* If I downloaded and installed update B112 via Settings -> Updater, is that the same as using what I downloaded via the Huawei link you provided and following the instructions in your last post?
Thanks very much
Yes,Google Framework is in System on it and yes this is the same from Huawei Server and is Original Stockrom.

Letschky, thanks for this information. I was worried that because GSF was a system app my sys partition was modified but after second thought the likelihood of this is possible but low since the UPDATE.APP flashes every partition besides the data partition which I also wiped when first acquiring the device . As such, the only way the device could be compromised is if something was copied into the data partition between the time I wiped it and when I updated to B112 - low probability.
Please correct me if I am wrong and sorry for being so picky.
Hi All
Hope you can help (because Huawei can't..)
I've had a Mate 8 for just under a year now and i've never had an update. Not one. A close friend bought one at the same time (different place) and has recently had the EMUI 5 update. I am still on EMUI 4.0 and have not had a security update since feb 2016. The handset was originally purchased in Germany and besides the update issue has worked flawlessly here in the UK. I would like the update however and do n ot mind if its manual and not OTA but Huawei are unable to offer anything like a solution. Does anyone know how i can update this handset without bricking it which is what concerns me. If it helps it is as follows:
NXT-L29
Build: NXT-L29C900B170
EMUI 4.0
Android 4.0
Thanks in advance

OK, thanks for the info.
Since had it confirmed that the hadset is a US variant (San Diego) and as such is trying to connect to US servers not UK which is why it can't the OTA update.
With this in mind will the dload method still work and if so, and sorry to be a total novice, but how to i do the dload method? (massively do not want to brick the phone)
Thanks again all,
1. Download the update on the computer.
2. Unzip.
3. Create a folder "dload" on micro SD card and copy only UPDATE.APP inside.
4. Turn off the phone and put mitsro SD card.
5. Turn ON the phone.
6. Go to "Updater" and click on "Local update".
That is it.
If update is not suitable to your phone "Installation failed" will be displayed at the screen and phone will be turn to the present state.

As it stands build number is the same and no new update available.
Updater appears in the app list but no where to be found on the phone and the update in settings provides no 'local update' option.
Odd?
If upload is make it right in this menu after pres three dots shut be option "Lokal Update".

Hi All,
I've tried again, this time using the newer link file. The phone processes the update all the way through but after restart the build number remains the same:
NXT-L29C900B192
And as such no EMUI 5.0 update is available. Is there anything else i can try? Is there an update file that relates spcifically to the above build number maybe?
Thanks again for all your help,
Hi guys
I am sorry that my post is maybe very short but the original one was messed up by the system
So now I try it again and with a short version...
At first:
Thanks for help (a "flashing triple-noob") on xda . I found so many informations (also before with other problems) and this was way beyond "help"-all of you get a great "thumbs up"!
And so far-the only experience in flashing was on my Xperia Z1 (de-brand) and it was quite easy but now it seems....uhmmmm....
So now go to my questions:
(hint: I want to use the stock FW no custom)
1.)
Anybody know the differences between the firmware version (no, I dont mean fingerprint ) of "Customized Hong Kong" and "CE1" for XZP Premium G8142?
Depends on the answer of this question maybe the next two dont need an answer
2.)
Question for newflasher:
I found and read many informations about flashing the FW but I getting more confused with more information!?
If I use newflasher the normal guide for that was veryyyy easy. And also at the moment newflasher is the only application for the XZ so > no other choice
But on the other side some user mentioned the following things:
-newflasher doesnt do a "full flash", something/files will be incomplete (means what? somebody have issues after flash?)
-delete parts of the files (like "things dont need" or "the partion folder")
-create partition folder (?)
So what is right and what is wrong?
Do I need to follow the easy tutorial or do I need to customize depends what happens during the flash?
3.)
Question for flashtool:
I know that currently flashtool doesnt support the XZP (still right?) even if its mentioned under "supported devices".
Also found (the generally) information that it isnt necessary to unlock the bootloader for flash a stock rom.
Now in flashtool description everybody can read: "...can only be used by Xperia™ devices having an unlocked boot loader..."???
But for unlock it needs to save the DRM keys before...and for this needs root.
But for root it needs to unlock the BL before...and this will erase the DRM keys before can save them.
So even if flashtool works on XZP the keys will be always lost?
Uhmm what I get wrong?
So thats my questions and I hope I can get some answers.
Because for the decision about the next device the XZP always comes back after compare with others (even it has a hybrid sim tray).
Thanks for help
Launch Flashtool/XperiFirm and download the fw you want. Either Nougat or Oreo.
Go into the fw folder, copy all the newflasher files and simply drop them into the fw folder, connect your phone in flashmode and doubleclick newflasher.exe
Wait until it has completed flashing and that's it!
IF you want to upgrade your fw later on without losing data, then you would have to delete some files yes, but for now just let everything be.

Anybody know the differences between the firmware version (no, I dont mean fingerprint ) of "Customized Hong Kong" and "CE1" for XZP Premium G8142?

There's not really any difference, just go with what you want and it will be fine.

-newflasher doesnt do a "full flash", something/files will be incomplete (means what? somebody have issues after flash?)
Click to collapse
It does a proper flash if you leave the files intact.

You can flash without unlocking bootloader, don't worry.

I see your first post-its good that you dont see the first (messed up) post (because contains much more text )

Sounds good and exactly the things I found first. Later (after tons of information from xda) the questions comes up. But now - seems the way it works :good:

Nice to know-so I can buy a randomly choosed XZP and the FW I want (at the moment all devices here dont have any google content in the FW) can be flashed afterwards

No you use newflasher, Flashtool doesn't work with XZP.
So with newflasher you are meant to extract the partition.zip and put the contents in a partition folder in the same directory as the other files downloaded through XperiFirm right? If that's the case then how did I manage to update from Nougat to Oreo when I deleted the partition.zip file without extracting it and flashed the update?
Trying to perform a local upgrade by going to system updates - local upgrade
however even though I have copied the file correctly no matter what i do the phone does NOT see any files
to confirm the file is
- unzipped
- copied in its current folder to the ROOT of the device
I have reset the phone
cache has been wiped too
Any suggestions please
TIA Bart
What do you mean when you say the file is "unzipped"? You are supposed put the zipped file in the root?

apologies the file IS ZIPPED
Have you deleted .jar ending of the file? If not, do it and move .zip file to root directory.
The extension is .zip not jar
Is the file in the Downloads folder?
No it's in the root of the storage

If everything you wrote is true, then I would say that you have downloaded an earlier version than what you have installed.
Or, you have a mismatch between beta and released.
Sent from my OnePlus7Pro using XDA Labs
I downloaded the official A10 release from the OnePlus site and 1st time I did it I was even guided there by OnePlus support.
That doesn't explain why the phone just doesn't see the file.
I've seen online that others have had the same issue too

Do you have a OnePlus 7 Pro?
What is your Phone Model?
What version of OxygenOS do you currently have on your phone?
[GUIDE] OnePlus 7 Pro [Region] (MODEL)
One plus 7 pro
I'm in London and got it from EE
Sorry missed some info
One plus 7 pro
GM1920
OS 9.5.11.GM27BA
Btw when I did a factory reset to try and resolve this upgrade I didn't wipe the internal data .
I was gonna try and factory reset yet again but this time wipe all data.
Post reset Ill copy the upgrade zip back to the phone and see if the system update will recognise it.
Do you think this could work?

GM1920: EU 5G OnePlus 7 Pro 5G
Local Upgrade
1.) Download the file OxygenOS 10.0.6 [EU] OnePlus 7 Pro 5G 2.1 GB and copy it to the root of the internal memory
2.) Go to Settings> System> System Updates> Click the gear at the top right> Local Upgrade> Click on the appropriate installation package> Update
3.) After the update is completed, click Restart
4.) The update was successful.
Note If you do not see the firmware file, then check the file extension should be .zip (if you have .zip.jar just rename it by deleting .jar)
Info:
OxygenOS 10.0.6 [EU] OnePlus 7 Pro 5G
P.S.
Exact name of the phone that you have is OnePlus 7 Pro 5G
You don't have to wipe all data.
Do a local upgrade.
Thank you so so so much
The file you asked me to download worked no problem whereas it would not see other zips.
Rebooted in A10 NOW.
IF I have to factory reset now will it go back to 9?
If so I'll just keep the upgrade file on the phone too?
Thank you so much again

You are currently on Android 10
OxygenOS 10.0.6
If you do a factory reset, you still stay on Android 10.
This method will delete the entire contents of the phone!
P.S
I am glad that everything went well.
Ok that's great
The whole reason I got into this mess was because I spoke to you oneplus saying that my phone would stop recognising the fingerprint and the Google assistant they advised to flash the phone rather than just a factory reset so hopefully now with this cleaner install I should have no problems thank you again
